American Melodic Metalcore band Semper Acerbus is back and they bring us to the brink of poison and pain like exotic plague doctors bursting from the shadows and forging a path for us into the light! The band just dropped a heartfelt new single and lyric video entitled “One Day at A Time” which talks about addiction and recovery. The lyric video was directed by Marc Coronado and it is the second single & music video taken from their upcoming full-length album Following Omens which will be released on January 9, 2026 via Eclipse Records. The album was produced by Chris Mora (Upon a Burning Body, Kingdom Collapse, Chimaira) at Warhorse Recordings (San Antonio, TX).
“We had plans to do a very intricate concept video because of the great lyrical content and message but we had to change those plans” says lead vocalist Nelson Acerbus. “Sometimes things just don’t go as planned and with this video, that was the case. We were able to call in Marc Coronado once again who came to our rescue saving the day with an amazing lyric video which perfectly captures the message and meaning behind the song, and we’re thrilled everything turned out this way!”
Semper Acerbus go straight for the jugular with their blistering third metalcore album titled Following Omens, blasting us across deserts, dunes, mountains, and woodlands deep and dark in the pit of the heart. The vocals are a nuclear fusion of rip-saw growls accented and built on in key moments with layers of traditional lead and harmony lines both modern and medieval, all meant to paint you pictures and sever your soul. The rhythm tracks crash like waves in the wild, and the lyrics are mirrors haunted by the shadows of our deepest and darkest emotional ghosts. Moreover, this album is a guitar-lover’s dream, often schemed with melodic soloing deep in the mix during the verse, and in effect, sounding like orchestral strings in a supernatural soundtrack echoing inside a damp cave, a deep tunnel, or the nave of some sinister, abandoned, desecrated church. The more nostalgic platform solos are intricate and aesthetically gratifying, and the massive rhythm riffs are often so rich and complex that it feels like knights, rooks, and kings have overtaken a checkerboard. The album was produced by produced, mixed, and mastered by Chris Mora (Upon a Burning Body, Kingdom Collapse, Chimaira) at Warhorse Recordings in San Antonio, Texas. Artwork for the album and singles was created by Federico Bossinga at Abstract Chaos Design (Dark Funeral, Dimmu Borgir, Oceano, Old Man’s Child). Following Omens by Semper Acerbus will be released on January 9, 2026 via Eclipse Records.

Like black wings from an obsidian sky, WORMWITCH descended from the darkness in 2015, somewhere upon the rain-soaked woodlands of coastal British Columbia. Animated from the bones of several local punk and metal bands, the new entity set out to combine a melodic blackened death assault with the ferocity and attitude of crust punk and classic rock and roll, jettisoning the burdens of ceremony and pomp that dominate the genre today.
WORMWITCH released their first demo, ‘The Long Defeat’ in 2015, and shortly after signed to Prosthetic Records, under whom they released ‘Strike Mortal Soil’ (2017), ‘Heaven that Dwells Within’ (2019), and ‘Wolf Hex’ (2021). During that time the band toured with the likes of The Black Dahlia Murder, Suffocation, Midnight, Necrot, Uada, Bewitcher, and many others, earning themselves a dedicated cult following and international critical praise. In 2022, WORMWITCH struck out to independently release a string of singles and embark upon several tours of North America. After a busy festival season, 2024 saw the release of a six-song split with Atlanta black-thrashers Sadistic Ritual.
Now, with blades meticulously honed and tempered under the light of a feral Canadian moon, WORMWITCH emerges once more to offer their fourth full length record. Simply self-titled, “Wormwitch” is a statement of a band coming into it’s own – a revelrous celebration of devilish speed, searing melody and diabolical intensity.

Mantra Of The Cosmos As an all-star band featuring iconic names in the shape of Happy Mondays / Black Grape duo Shaun Ryder and Bez with Andy Bell (Oasis, Ride) and Zak Starkey (Oasis, The Who, Johnny Marr), Mantra of the Cosmos captured a wave of interest with their first two singles ‘Gorilla Guerilla’ and ‘X (Wot You Sayin?)’ as well as a memorable Glastonbury debut, headlining the Glade Stage.
That fascination was naturally amplified when they were joined by Oasis legend Noel Gallagher for the single ‘Domino Bones (Gets Dangerous)’ which instantly sold-out its first limited edition vinyl pressing. Now Mantra of the Cosmos aim to reach a much larger audience with the release of ‘Domino Bones (Gets Dangerous)’ on Clear limited edition Vinyl.
Named after Bez’s first band, ‘Domino Bones (Gets Dangerous)’ is a whirlwind of psychedelic chaos, a maximalist explosion of heady psychedelia, thumping big beat and sprawling acid rock. Or as Zak Starkey states, “It’s ‘Free Bird’ for mods.” Zak Starkey says, “The Cavern gigs were amazing, as was the reaction to the vinyl release. Working with people like Noel, Shaun, Andy and Bez is always a pleasure – these are the greatest musicians of their generation. We have more singles coming this year with some VERY special guests – this is the year of the Mantra!”
In a conversation with The Times, Noel Gallagher stated: “It’s Dylan, Dali, Ginsberg and a bit of cosmic jibber-jabber. Add in Bez, who dances on the tunes like Zak plays the drums and Andy Bell plays all things stringed, and you have it.”
The accompanying video for the track was filmed by Zak Starkey using his four year old daughter’s toys, and edited by Nick Franco at 1185Films.
The track’s original launch received media coverage across, amongst others, NME, Radio X, The Guardian, Rolling Stone, Evening Standard and Clash. The collective celebrated the release of the single by playing two shows at Liverpool’s storied Cavern Club: the venue where Zak’s father, Ringo Starr, cut his teeth with The Beatles.
The idea behind Mantra of The Cosmos started when Zak Starkey formed a supergroup – featuring Liam Gallagher, Roger Daltrey, Ian Broudie, Bonehead and Jay Mehler – to perform ‘My Generation’ during a revival of the TV show ‘TFI Friday’ in 2015. Zak met Shaun Ryder that night, and soon followed up to suggest forming a band in which Shaun’s charismatic lyrics were the focal point. Shaun volunteered Bez to join the fun during that same conversation, before Zak completed the line-up with his old Oasis bandmate Andy Bell.
The connection between Zak and Noel Gallagher started in 1995 when the guitarist dropped in to see the drummer rehearsing with his band Face. Zak subsequently met Liam Gallagher at Oasis’s Earls Court shows in 1996. As he remembers, “We’re mods, so we got on straight away.” Zak joined Oasis in 2004 and remained until 2009, playing on the albums ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’ and ‘Dig Out Your Soul’.
With less than six weeks until the arrival of their eighth studio album on January 9, 2026, ALTER BRIDGE return with their brand-new single, “Playing Aces.” The track bursts open with the band’s trademark dual-guitar firepower as Myles Kennedy (vocals/guitars), Mark Tremonti (guitars/vocals), Brian Marshall (bass), and Scott Phillips (drums) lock into the muscular groove that has defined their sound for more than two decades. The propulsive verses build into a soaring, unforgettable chorus, highlighted by Kennedy’s declaration: “If I risked it all, I hope you’ll understand that I had to play my hand…”
“Playing Aces” is available now across all digital service providers. The accompanying music video—directed by J.T. Ibanez—is also out today and can be seen below.
Myles Kennedy explains: “The term ‘Playing Aces’ ties in with the gambling analogy of risking everything regardless of how many times you’ve failed in life. It’s a last-ditch effort to come out on top.”
With over twenty years as one of rock’s most consistently acclaimed bands, ALTER BRIDGE continue to push forward. Renowned for their towering riffs, infectious melodies, and masterful guitar interplay, the quartet will release their self-titled eighth studio album on January 9, 2026 via Napalm Records.
The forthcoming album features 12 brand-new tracks that capture some of the band’s most compelling work to date. Songs like “Rue The Day,”“Disregarded,” and “Scales Are Falling” stand tall alongside staples from the ALTER BRIDGE catalog. “Trust In Me” showcases the powerful vocal chemistry between Kennedy and Tremonti, with Myles taking lead on the verses and Mark commanding the chorus—an approach they flip on “Tested and Able,” one of the band’s heaviest introductions to date. “Hang By a Thread” is primed for the live stage, echoing the energy of fan-favorite anthems, while album closer “Slave to Master” delivers an epic finale and marks the longest track the band has ever recorded.
The first single, “Silent Divide,”continues its ascent at Active Rock and has already surpassed 4 million views on YouTube. Longtime producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette once again joins the band for the project, recorded over two months this spring at both the legendary 5150 Studios in California and at Elvis’ studio in Florida.
Alter Bridge track listing: 1) Silent Divide (5:06) 2) Rue The Day (4:46) 3) Power Down (4:08) 4) Trust In Me (4:48) 5) Disregarded (3:55) 6) Tested And Able (4:36) 7) What Lies Within (5:07) 8) Hang By A Thread (4:11) 9) Scales Are Falling (5:54) 10) Playing Aces (4:05) 11) What Are You Waiting For (5:00) 12) Slave To Master (9:03)
To coincide with the new album, ALTER BRIDGE will hit the road in support of the release on the What Lies Within Tour. The 31-date European run kicks off January 15 in Germany and wraps March 5 in Nottingham, UK, with Daughtry and Sevendust joining as special guests. The band has also announced a headlining U.S. tour featuring Filter or Sevendust and Tim Montana on select dates. The trek begins April 25 in Orlando, FL and concludes May 24 in Tampa, FL. About ALTER BRIDGE: Back in 2004, four lifelong musicians got together down in Florida. Even though they had traveled separate paths, similar lessons learned, wisdom earned, and dues paid united these gentlemen—Myles Kennedy [vocals, guitar], Mark Tremonti [guitar, vocals], Brian Marshall [bass], and Scott Phillips [drums]—as Alter Bridge. Over the ensuing two decades, the band endured countless trials and tribulations, defied every odd, and rose to the head of the pack as a hard rock juggernaut, cementing a singular legacy by selling out arenas, gathering nearly 1 billion streams, inciting international acclaim, and quietly attracting a diehard audience. Beginning with the Top 5 entry of 2004’s gold certified One Day Remains, the band have scored six consecutive Top 20 debuts on the Billboard 200. Among a myriad of highlights, Guitarist Magazine applauded “Blackbird” for the “Greatest Guitar Solo of All Time,” the ABIII single “Isolation” vaulted to #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart, 2013’s Fortress received rare perfect scores from KERRANG! and Total Guitar, and Walk The Sky shook the Top Rock Albums Chart at #1. Beyond packing O2 Arena and Royal Albert Hall, Classic Rock hailed 2022’s Pawns & Kings as “the Rolls-Royce of ALTER BRIDGE records” in a 4.5-out-of-5-star review. Plus, the latter LP garnered praise from American Songwriter, Guitar World, and Loudwire, while Billboard christened them “one of America’s premiere hard rock quartets.” Channeling the same relentless drive, the band continues to expand their legacy with their forthcoming self-titled eighth album—an embodiment of the precision, power, and soaring musicality fans have come to expect.
Mere days before the release of their first live album, PERSEFONE offers another look into the release. Recorded at a special show in their home country, Andorra, the new version of “One Word” again takes the band’s brand of progressive death metal to a new level with the masterful addition of the Orquestra Nacional Clàssica d’Andorra (National Classical Orchestra of Andorra). Performed live, “One Word”—originally released on their most recent EP, Lingua Ignota: Part I (2024)—is even grander than before and captures the impressive energy PERSEFONE brings to the stage with pristine clarity—goosebumps guaranteed. Live In Andorra will be out this coming Friday, December 5, 2025 via Napalm Records.
PERSEFONE about “One Word”: “In every show, there are different moments, but nothing compares to the thrill of the intro that leads to the very beginning. You can feel the energy on stage; you can see the people eager to release their enthusiasm after waiting for the first sonic explosion. For this particular show, the song that was chosen to ignite the whole experience had to be ‘One Word’. It’s one of the last songs we wrote, yet one of our favorites to play live. It’s direct, it’s powerful, and it connects with both the band and the audience in a heartbeat. Hopefully, you can also feel that connection by enjoying this single.”
Progressive death metal masters PERSEFONE let their material shine in a new light on their upcoming live album, Live In Andorra. Recorded at a one-off orchestral show in the National Auditorium of their home country Andorra in May 2024, the six-piece band take their already sophisticated sound to even grander heights, celebrating both their 20-year history and their return home after not having performed in Andorra in ten years. In collaboration with the Orquestra Nacional Clàssica d’Andorra (National Classical Orchestra of Andorra), the symphonic accompaniment adds immense grandeur to a catalog-spanning set, embellishing their unmatched live energy to triumphant highs. Live In Andorra also offers unique recordings of many beloved songs with new frontman Daniel R. Flys, who joined the band in 2023. Making classic tracks his own and bringing new material to the forefront, he emphasizes the musical force that is PERSEFONE.
On Live in Andorra, PERSEFONE’s musical force shines brightly out from their native Andorra. A perfect example of how symphonic support can blend seamlessly into metal songs and enhance them, this intricate record gives the already impressive tracks a whole new context. Progressive, yet catchy; heavy, yet full of emotion!
PERSEFONE about Live In Andorra: “It is not everyday that you can celebrate the history of your band with such a unique set of circumstances. Playing at home after so many years, in front of our people, at the National Hall, with the National Orchestra, was something we never imagined would even be a possibility. But when the opportunity appeared, we just couldn’t say no, and we knew we wanted to have this whole experience immortalized for everyone to take part in it. This show is a way of coming full circle, from a crappy rehearsal room and our first shows in clubs, to being able to perform at such an iconic place in our country. Please join us for this special show. Welcome to PERSEFONE. Welcome to Andorra.”
With 14 songs off their four most recent albums and the latest EP, PERSEFONE show great versatility. Live In Andorra takes listeners on a career spanning journey through a series of album specific vignettes: after starting off with the latest, Lingua Ignota: Part I (2024), the band takes their audience back in time through Aathma (2017) and even reaches all the way to their 2009 album Shin-ken. Then returning to 2022’s metanoia before finally their hit album Spiritual Migration (2013), the Andorran powerhouses garner waves of thunderous applause and howling.
With the intro “Sounds And Vessels” bleeding into “One Word”, both PERSEFONE and the orchestra, led by conductor Albert Gumí and concertmaster Pere Bardagí, show off their strength and mutual enthusiasm right at the start of the show. Performed together, this compilation expands grander than either track was alone, with the pristine clarity of the orchestral sound serving as an awe-inspiring view into what’s to come. The decorated rendition of “Living Waves” is an example of the band’s unique flair and their trademark ability to weld sweeping emotion into jaw-dropping compositions. “Leap Of Faith” deepens the progressive reach of the band, transporting listeners right to the Andorran National Auditorium in Ordino, in which this live rendition was recorded, delivering the spectacular show in vivid color. Other highlights include wonderful contrast between trenchant brutality and symphonic focus on “Stillness Is Timeless”, including an expansive piano outro, which directly moves into “Prison Skin” with a piano intro. On “Kusanagi”, PERSEFONE exemplifies their pristine musical control, taking a step back to grant the orchestra an impressive solo, cleverly sharing the spotlight for a dynamic listening experience.

As they continue to celebrate 35 years of evil existence, Rotting Christ are beginning what is sure to be a monumental new year by reinforcing one of the pillars in their mighty discography.
Today, the Greek legends are announcing a re-recorded version of the band’s 11th album. Chiseled with modern production, polished by a rich mix and draped with fresh cover art, the new and improved AEALO enhances every aspect that makes this album a cornerstone from Rotting Christ’s Hellenic era.
“Dear friends”, begins the band’s vocalist and guitarist Sakis Tolis. “We have re-recorded, remixed and remastered our 11th album AEALO with deep respect for the original recording. We are proud to present to you the first sample from the album with a new video for its title track”.
Long-held as one of Rotting Christ’s defining anthems, “AEALO” is a fierce yet tragic portrayal of warfare. In English, the title means “I destroy” or “I thrash”. Martial percussion, ceremonial melodies and a female choir evoke the spirit of ancient Greek rituals and the psychology of the battlefield. The re-recorded version unearths new layers that were once hidden, strengthening the song’s mythic resonance while reflecting on the album’s larger themes of sacrifice and the cost of conflict.

In the dimly lit catacombs of extreme metal, one name stands as a monolith: ROTTING CHRIST. Sakis Tholis and his brother Themis started this band together back in 1987. In the three decades since, these Greek titans have left their blackened imprint all over the metal world. They’ve released 13 studio albums and played more than 1,300 concerts around the globe. Underneath all this hard work, Rotting Christ have but one vision – an urge to not only push the boundaries of extreme metal, but to keep reinventing themselves along the way.
Rotting Christ’s evolution has unfolded across several distinct chapters. After starting out closer to the barely controlled chaos of grindcore, they went on to establish the iconic sound of Hellenic black metal. Their albums often embrace refined gothic soundscapes, only to plunge back into the depths of blasphemous fervour. Each chapter marked another, further exploration, and an unwavering commitment to push boundaries.
But the real turning point came in 2007, when Rotting Christ signed a pact with Season of Mist. They unleashed a series of albums for the French label that defied any and all expectations. From the piercing Theogonia and the symphonic grandeur of Aelo to the ritualistic intensity of Κατά Τον Δαίμονα Εαυτού, the cinematic experiences created by Rotting Christ became a spectacle of bombastic atmospheres, mesmerizing choirs, and neo-classical arrangements. The unexpected is their modus operandi, with the use of various languages (Latin, Arabic, Greek, English) as well as the extensive use of famous poetry woven into their music, like Edgar Allan Poe’s ‘The Raven’ on The Heretics.
In 2019, Rotting Christ’s epic journey continued with The Apocryphal Spell compilation, which offers fans an intimate glimpse into unreleased and rare material. This allowed them to gather strength, preparing for the release of their next, highly anticipated, 14th full-length studio album: Pro Xristou. Pro Xristou(‘Before Christ’ in Greek), serves as a fervent tribute to the last Pagan kings who resisted the onslaught of Christianity, guarding their ancient values and knowledge. In this thematic odyssey, intricately woven through tracks such as ‘The Apostate’ and ‘Ygdrassil’, Rotting Christ delves into the legacies of historical figures such as Flavius Claudius Julianus and Nordic mythological kings, embodying the might of Pagan wisdom in the face of Christian adversity. The album encapsulates the essence of Rotting Christ’s signature style – melodic, yet harsh at times – reinventing themselves yet again, while remaining rooted in their 35-year legacy.
