OCEANS OF SLUMBER Release Visualizer Video for ‘Hearts Of Stone’ from Upcoming Album

After releasing the first new single, “The Waters Rising”, in February, Texas-based New Southern Gothic outfit OCEANS OF SLUMBER present the next song taken from their upcoming album, “Starlight and Ash” , that is scheduled for a release July 22nd.

Check out an atmospheric Visualizer Video for “Hearts of Stone” HERE

Cammie Beverly (vocals) says about the song: “Lost and alone from birth, a product of the institution of life on the streets. Trouble follows this person around like a badge of honor. Grief finding grievances, the perfect formula of despair.”

“Starlight and Ash” was produced by Joel Hamilton (Violet Road, Battle of Mice) and mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Yes, Voivod). The stunning artwork was created by Eliran Kantor (Testament, Heaven Shall Burn and many more).

Fronted by the inimitable power, range, and grace of vocalist Cammie Beverly, “Starlight and Ash” posits OCEANS OF SLUMBER in a league of their own. This is as much eloquent extensions of famed singer-songwriters Nick Cave and Chris Stapleton as it is the heartbreaking pulse of Type O Negative and Katatonia. “Starlight and Ash” isn’t Metal, but its edges are.

LORNA SHORE Release First Song ‘Sun//Eater’ from Upcoming Album

For LORNA SHORE , 2020 was nothing short of a reckoning – in a career built on challenges, changes and a single-minded vision. For the New Jersey quintet 2020 signaled the pandemic and cancelled tours. The following year presented the band with a staggering creative challenge in the form of the song, “To the Hellfire” from their hugely well-regarded “…And I Return to Nothingness”-EP. Yet, through it all, they upped their sonic ante with their upcoming album, “Pain Remains”, that not only aligns with everything LORNA SHORE has hinted at but it also exceeds that – brutally and magnificently. “It feels like a rebirth of everything for us – the energy, the band, the morale,” says drummer Austin Archey.

LORNA SHORE shot the video clip with Loki Films at the end of their sold out UK tour in March and Will Ramos (vocals) has the following to say about the song: “We’re so happy so be able to put out something different and new that further exemplifies who we’ve become as individuals and as a whole. This song/album really brings together everything that we’ve been working towards being and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you all.”

“Pain Remains” is scheduled for a release in October and more info will unfold in due time.

May 20th 2022 will see the release of “Earthtorn“, the highly anticipated new studio album by Sayreville, New Jersey -based melodic doom metallers Drift Into Black. After the release of the first two singles “It Fell From The Sky” and “Weight Of Two Worlds“, the band has shared a brand new music video for the track “Angel Of Doom”.

Drift Into Black‘s upcoming concept album “Earthtorn” flows continuously, telling the story of the extinction of humankind seen through the eyes of an extraterrestrial visitor disguised as a human sent to mother earth to analyze our behavior and eventually deplete us of all our natural resources. He learns about our past and our experiences of war sickness. Love, loss, and death, he falls in love with a woman and is torn between his selfishness for her. He begins to question his willingness to carry out his mission. He gets to watch as his love slowly falls victim to the disease and starts to wither away. Day by day, she grows sicker and eventually passes away from cancer. His experience of love, sickness, loss, and death is for real now. He realizes that there is nothing good left on Earth throughout all the darkness. He informs his planet that there is nothing to be retained here on Earth and that he will be returning home, leaving the human race to its slow decay.

“Earthtorn” will be coming out on May 20th and is available for pre-order HERE

Emerging from the Finnish coastal town of Kotka, melodic death metal strikers MARIANAS REST unleashed their third studio album, Fata Morgana, on March 12, 2021 via Napalm Records – laying a brutal yet gloomy veil of melancholy over the world. The top-notch offering combines intense melodic death metal spiced with significant doom elements and breathes an overall lyrical theme of the dark aspects of life with every note.

Founded in 2013, and after releasing their debut Horror Vacui (2016) and critically acclaimed successor Ruins (2019), the six piece with Jaakko Mäntymaa on vocals and Omnium Gatherum’s Aapo Koivisto on keys showcases a true virtuosity of heavy riffs, hypnotizing soundscapes and impetuous tempo-changes on its new piece of art. The eight-song epos delivers atmospheric melodies that are as endless and fascinating as the overwhelming beauty of Finnish nature, which tracks like the expressive “The Weight” or authentic “Pointless Tale” are evidence of. Topped by guest appearances of Timo Virkkala, who shares his awesome cello magic, and the bewitching backing vocals of Lindsay Matheson/Schoolcraft (ex-Cradle Of Filth), MARIANAS REST take their creative output to the next level and make Fata Morgana a must-have for fans of bands like Insomnium and My Dying Bride.

This melodically-grasped melancholy is produced by Teemu Aalto (Insomnium, Omnium Gatherum) and MARIANAS REST, recorded and mixed by Teemu Aalto at Teemu Aalto Music Productions and mastered by Svante Forsbäck at Chartmakers, who received a Grammy nomination with Candlemass feat. Tony Iommi for Best Metal Performance.

Finnish metal band WHERE’S MY BIBLE released the final track Chapter IV: Origin which completes their new EP Circle which is released on May 13th 2022 via Inverse Records. Music videos were done for each track on the EP and the final video can be seen below.

Singer Jussi Matilainen comments:
“In a previous release, we didn’t want to reveal this one to be the final end where an old one has to die in order to replace a new one. The “Origin” that concludes the story of Ep’s four songs tells how to be reborn and to accept things as they are. Like how you are perfect just the way you are. Maybe broken, but that doesn’t mean you’re weak. When you learn it, you are already on the right path and going far in your life. Because we all are here to learn until we die how to be human and get along with ourselves as well as others.

Everything goes around the circle as our EP title says. Even if you do your best and accept things as they are, the circle can take you back to square one. But don’t be discouraged! You did it once so you can do it again, more experienced and stronger than ever.

The whole project was very tough in every way but also extremely awesome and instructive. Not only in the musical sense but also in terms of introspection. Be kind to eachother especially to yourself. Please, Enjoy the journey of Circle…as we did”

Guitarist Toni Hinkkala continues:
“As in the story of “Circle” we have re-created ourselves and it feels absolutely awesome. The story ends with a song where we brought something old yet sounding like our new self. Thus, according to the name of Ep, we made the circle complete.”
