As he gets ready to hit the road, Iconic singer, songwriter, guitarist, and Alice In Chains co-founder JERRY CANTRELL has released the animated video for “Siren Song”, off of his most recent album Brighten.

Bloody Disgusting exclusively premiered the new video saying, “The new animated video, directed and animated by Nate Merritt, shows a western-themed fantasy world that could be a trip through the mind of the songwriter but can also be interpreted by the viewer as a metaphor for life’s challenges: work, love, and loss mixed with the beauty of a life well-lived. Lots of easter eggs for Jerry fans but also fun and haunting video for the song itself, rife with wildlife, wilderness, and wandering travelers.”

Jerry begins his North American tour in support of his new LP, Brighten, released late last year.  The tour kicks off next week at the Palace Theater in St. Paul, MN on March 24, 2022 and winds its way around North America hitting major cities such as Toronto, CN, Chicago, Detroit, Nashville, NYC, Philadelphia, Seattle and Los Angeles to name a few. See full tour routing below.

Tickets for the Brighten Tour are available via Jerry’s website, through Ticketmaster and wherever tickets are sold. Check local venues.

To make this tour even more attractive for fans, Jerry recently announced special VIP event packages at each show that offer fans tiered selections of exclusive experiences. These experiences include a meet & greet and photo opp with Jerry, personal autographed items of your choice, premium merch items, and at the top tier, a signed official “Atone” Gibson JC Signature Acoustic guitar. The guitar includes a letter of authenticity. Packages start at $100 all the way to $5500 which includes the Gibson guitar. (Details about VIP packages below)

Jerry’s touring band for this tour includes: Tyler Bates (Guitar), Greg Puciato (Backing Vocals), Gil Sharone (Drums), George Adrian (Bass), Michael Rozon (Pedal Steel) and Jason Achilles (keys). The set will encompass songs from Brighten along with favorite hits from his catalog.

Jerry spent most of late 2021 celebrating the release of Brighten, including performing an intimate showcase of the songs at  “An Evening With Jerry Cantrell” at the Grammy Museum in LA. Watch the live performance of “Brighten” here and stream here.

STÖNER (Feat. Brant Bjork, Nick Oliveri) Release New Single ‘Party March’

As STÖNER are currently gearing up for the release of their upcoming, second studio album, the desert rock super-group has just premiered a brand new single taken from totally…, out on May 6, 2022 via powerhouse label Heavy Psych Sounds Records!

If the name Stöner seems a little on the nose, well… it is. Brant Bjork and Nick Oliveri, founding members of stoner rock legend Kyuss, are joined again by drummer Ryan Güt (of Bjork’s solo band) and they’ve got dibs on the thick and dusty swinging grooves, returning as Stöner with their sophomore release totally… . Stöner’s love for their early inspirations (bands like Blue Oyster Cult, Kiss, Ramones, Blue Cheer, Misfits, Black Flag, The Stooges, MC5) result in big, groovy, sunbaked riffs that can cruise low and slow but then floor it and run all the red lights.

After the previously released, first track “A Million Beers”, Stöner invite you to “Party March” on their new, heavily groovin’ single! Says the band: “As the wise Chuck Dukowski once said to me ..‘It’s all about the Party March’…. So… let your good times roll, let them sooth your soul. March! March! March!”

Live, this is a band about the magnetism between the players, the groove, the loose vibe and straight up badass rock and roll…(Check out their upcoming tour dates HERE!). Stöner are masters of their trade. With totally… the band is in its true form, getting together and having fun. Stöner’s world is a colorful joyride, heavy of rock but not of head. The record cranks with vibes of classic hard rock, heavy blues, desert rock and psych rock jams – things that come organically to this trio. Stöner can’t help but express an abundance of punk rock rawness and passion for real rock and roll swagger. With two records, “Live at Mojave” and “Stoners Rule” (available on Heavy Psych Sounds), their forthcoming release totally… sees the band realizing the chemistry of these old friends developing a statement of pure rock and roll fun.

The album was produced, recorded and mixed by Yoseph Sanborn and Stöner, and will be released as highly collectable Vinyl editions, CD and Digital formats on May 6, 2022 by Heavy Psych Sounds Records. totally… will also feature guest appearances on guitar by Greg Hetson (Circle Jerks) and Mario Lalli (Yawning Man). Grab a slice, crank it, and pre-order your album copy at THIS LOCATION!

totally… Tracklist:

  1. Party March
  2. A Million Beers
  3. Strawberry Creek (Dirty Feet)
  4. Spacedude & The Burn
  5. Stöner Theme
  6. Turn It Around Now
  7. Driving Miss Lazy
  8. Great American Sage

UNDEATH Share New Single And Music Video ‘Necrobionics’

Rochester, NY death metal act UNDEATH have today shared Necrobionics, the bludgeoning third single to be taken from their upcoming sophomore album, It’s Time… To Rise from the Grave. Alongside the tracks release, UNDEATH have shared the accompanying music video today via YouTube. Necrobionics’ visual component is a homage to the classic video game series Doom.

It’s Time… To Rise From The Grave is set to be released via Prosthetic Records on April 22.

Stream Necrobionics via
APPLE MUSIC | SPOTIFY | BANDCAMP | DEEZER
Pre-orders for It’s Time… To Rise From The Grave are available here.

Of the single, Kyle Beam (guitar) comments: “Necrobionics is the defacto mosh track off It’s Time… When we drop this one live, it’s going to leave the pit looking much like the chorus says, with “Piles of death, corpses en masse”. The track’s lyrics draws a lot of aesthetic influence from the early doom/quake games, with the video paying homage to some of my favorite pastimes.”

It’s Time… To Rise from the Grave, shows the reconfigured quintet—Kyle Beam (guitars), Alexander Jones (vocals), Tommy Wall (bass), Jared Welch (guitars) and Matt Browning (drums)—have retained their mind-infecting sonic savagery but weren’t satisfied in their pursuit to improve it through wicked (yet studied) reformulation. It’s Time… To Rise from the Grave isn’t just an early contender for death metal album of 2022—it’s destined to be a modern-day classic.

UNDEATH traveled to Philadelphia to record It’s Time… To Rise from the Grave with Scoops Dardaris at Headroom Studios in March-April 2021. Dardaris rough-mixed on the fly during the recording sessions, and then required two more weeks after to finalize the mix. Not ones to sacrifice a working team, they brought on Arthur Rizk (Creeping Death, Enforced) to master.

In four years, UNDEATH have done the unlikely. They have two celebrated, oft-streamed demos, a coveted Decibel flexi disc, two brutish videos (Acidic Twilight Visions,Entranced by the Pendulum), completed a riotous 30-date American tour mid-pandemic with The Black Dahlia Murder, and released a fan-obsessed full-length in Lesions of a Different Kind. To stop now would be contrary to UNDEATH’s diehard, work-hardened ethos. Indeed, they’re forging ahead. It’s Time… To Rise from the Grave undoubtedly levels up UNDEATH. The New Yorkers are the vanguard of the next wave of hard-hearted American death metal. Join the undead army now…march or die completely!

It’s Time… To Rise From The Grave tracklisting

  1. Fiend For Corpses
  2. Defiled Again
  3. Rise From The Grave
  4. Necrobionics
  5. Enhancing The Dead
  6. The Funeral Within

STENGAH Release New Video ‘Swoon’, Debut Album Out Now

Today French metallers STENGAH release their debut album SOMA SEMA via Mascot Records / Mascot Label Group.  To celebrate they have revealed the lyric video for new song “Swoon,” which you can watch here. Today they also kick off their French tour at Le Confort Moderne, Poitiers.

Talking about the song Eliott Williame says, “Swoon is the sad story of a person who falls in love with the dreamed and ideal version of itself. It’s a painful journey, trying to coexist with that artificial other one, to look alike, to behave alike… basically wasting its life trying to be that someone he/she is not. And in the end, that feeling of being two people at once, only gets the character to self-destruct, mentally and physically.”

Continuing he adds “You can musically feel the lament of this song. Through the light and dark of something you over desire, it’s a call to accept yourself, to live by yourself and not through the eyes of someone else.”

Stream / Order the album here: https://smarturl.it/Stengah

“Swoon” is the fifth song to be released from the album following “Message in Memories.” All of the songs have a thematic link running through them.  “He and the Sea” is based on a French children’s book called ‘La Mer et Lui’ by Henri Meunier & Régis Lejonc. It is about grieving an achieved journey and the beginning of a new one. It’s a song about the challenge of finding new purposes in life, going through strong feelings, and curating our precious memories. The key to an endless existence. Interlinked with the band’s previous two videos, we find ourselves in the man’s head from “At the Behest of Origins,” exploring this incarnation of his mind filled with a confrontation of love, anger, fear, curiosity and balance.

The video for “At the Behest of Origins” is a beautiful cinematic experience, which follows a man who wakes up at the sea edge. The viewer proceeds to observe a ‘conversation’ with a woman as his inner self as they share enigmatic messages and dialogue in a language that is only available as a related poem hosted on the band’s website. This followed the band’s debut single “Above Inhumanity,” which is about a confrontation between loneliness and fellowship through an imaginary conversation.

The French quintet has spent the last few years in a state of perpetual evolution, armed with some of the most visceral and forward-thinking riffs and refrains in recent memory. With shades of crunchy post-djent muscularity, these young virtuosos are carving their unique path to metal glory. Both thrillingly primal and ferociously intelligent, this music aspires to enlighten and brutalise in equal measure.

Founded by drummer Eliott Williame, STENGAH has the sound, the smarts, and the ambition to push heavy music ever further into the future. After years of steady evolution and meticulous attention to detail, the band – completed by bassist Benoit Creteur, lead guitarist Maxime Delassus, rhythm guitarist Alexis Dewasch and powerhouse frontman Nicolas Queste – have honed their sound to a state of cutting-edge perfection.

“The music is about (re)connecting with yourself,” says Eliott. “It is about people, their fears, their faiths and their philosophies. How sometimes those things can guide them, and how sometimes they can blind them. It asks, with no judgement, about how odd and how strange the social and emotional behaviours of human beings are. It’s all about the power to believe, in creativity, and consciousness.”
