Italy’s gothic doom stalwarts THE FORESHADOWING have just released a live video for Our Nightmares Call, a song from the band’s latest album New Wave Order.

The video was shot by Underroom Studios at the 2025 edition of Frantic Fest in Francavilla al Mare, Italy.

The mood is dark to melancholic, but also majestic and epic. Hailing from Rome (Italy), THE FORESHADOWING are something like the musical equivalent of the city they come from. Founded in 2005, the group can look back on a successful and eventful history. Listeners of gothic, doom and dark metal are very familiar with the quartet’s work. THE FORESHADOWING gained popularity in the international scene with four acclaimed albums released between 2007 and 2016: “Days of Nothing” (2007), “Oionos” (2010), “Second World” (2012) and “Seven Heads, Ten Horns” (2016) and through touring with SWALLOW THE SUN, SATURNUS, MARDUK, MOONSPELL, ANTIMATTER and IN THE WOODS.

In 2023, THE FORESHADOWING ended a forced break of several years with the EP “Forsaken Songs” and a European tour with Saturnus and In The Woods. Now, “New Wave Order” is the group’s fifth full length album and their debut on LIFEFORCE RECORDS. The formation from Rome emphasizes its strengths on the album and offers cinematic tracks of dark music that is nevertheless immensely catchy and mood-enhancing.

While listening to “New Wave Order”, you are whisked away into a world full of secrets and allusions. The path is THE FORESHADOWING’s goal, which manifests itself in all-encompassing, organically developed musicality. The Italians are outstanding songwriters who create captivating arcs of suspense and also keep an eye on the overarching strands. Nothing else can be expected from this eternal band.

NUKEM Reveal Details for Sophomore Album “The Grave Remains”, Out April 10th

California has always been fertile ground for thrash metal, leading the charge with some of the genre’s most legendary acts. San Diego’s NUKEM follows in the footsteps of thrash metal’s founding fathers, producing the kind of time-tested, neck-breaking thrash that invokes deep nostalgia while still sounding fresh and modern.

Following up the lauded release of their pummeling new single, “Random Acts of Violence,” the thrashers are now pleased to reveal that their sophomore full-length, ‘The Grave Remains,’ is now available for pre-orders! The record is due on April 10, 2026 via Redefining Darkness and the tracklisting and artwork can now be found below! Pre-orders are now live in the U.S. HERE and the rest of the world HERE.

ICYMI: “Random Acts of Violence” also features a guest guitar solo from Russ Tippins of the band Satan. The track is now available along with a visceral performance video that is sure to summon the kind of balls-to-the-wall, feral mosh pit that would make the late, great Paul Baloff proud. Watch the video HERE.

NUKEM guitarist/vocalist Steve Brogden previously commented on the heavy yet important lyrical content of the song, “We are stoked to share the first single ‘Random Acts of Violence’ from our new record. This track is a full bore aggressive thrash metal attack that directly mirrors its lyrical content. In an age where mass shootings, stabbings & people getting beat to death in the streets for a social media challenge has become normal, It truly shows how lost we are as a society. 24 years ago, there was a shooting at my high school leaving 2 dead & 13 wounded by a 15 year old armed assailant. In almost a quarter century, things have certainly not gotten any better!”

NUKEM also has announced several upcoming performances in their home state of California, which can be found below.

The artwork for ‘The Grave Remains’ was created by Megan Mushi and can be found below along with the tracklist.

BREATHE IN Release New Single + Official Music Video ‘Misfortune’s Hand’

The rising force in metalcore, Breathe In, released their electrifying new single “Misfortune’s Hand”. Bridging the ferocity of American metalcore with the cinematic precision of Japanese metal and visual kei, the track delivers an immersive and sonically devastating experience that defines the band’s signature Visual Metalcore sound.

With “Misfortune’s Hand,” Breathe In channels the intensity of Bad Omens and Orbit Culture, the visual grandeur of Black Veil Brides, and the artistic flair of Japanese legends The GazettE and Hyde. The result is a track that’s both crushing and theatrical.

Brian Kang shares, “For me, ‘Misfortune’s Hand’ represents the continuation and confidence of our new/current lineup. Our last single was a reintroduction of our band (we went through a lineup change prior). This one is about carrying the baton forward. We wanted something instrumentally and lyrically intense to showcase our accelerating momentum.”

The music video, available on YouTube, was directed by the band’s drummer, Paul Illge Jr. His in-house production crew, who have collectively worked across the film industry with various professional credits, serve as the creative backbone behind all of Breathe In’s visual projects. The video was shot in Brooklyn, NY, bringing the band’s artistic vision to life.

“Misfortune’s Hand” is now available on all major streaming platforms.

Hailing from the heart of the tri-state, Breathe In brings together raw talents from New Jersey, Brooklyn, and Philly. Fusing the aggressive edge of American metal with the precision and artistry of Japanese metal, their sound is as cinematic as it is intense, built to leave a mark both visually and sonically. Formed by five seasoned musicians who have weathered the ever-shifting tides of the music industry, Breathe In is united by a shared mission to bring an intense, sonic experience like no other. The band is made up of vocalist Shola Aurora, guitarists Brian Kang & Topeng, bassist Rob Gnarly, and drummer Paul Illge Jr.

FRIENDSHIP COMMANDERS Release New Video for ‘Dead & Discarded Girls’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on November 17, 2025

Today Nashville-based heavy melodic duo Friendship Commanders are excited to share their new band-created video for “DEAD & DISCARDED GIRLS,” a powerful closer from their new album BEAR, out now via Magnetic Eye Records (order). “DEAD & DISCARDED GIRLS,” which was directed by the band’s Jerry Roe, is available to watch below.

The haunting track was inspired in part by the 1997 murder of fourteen-year-old Reena Virk and in part by vocalist Buick Audra’s reflections on empathy, specifically, the human tendency to withhold it unless we personally relate to someone’s suffering. The album’s dedication, “For all of the bad daughters,” originates from this song. The band is intentionally releasing the video on November 14, the anniversary of Virk’s death.

Read an exclusive essay by Buick Audra on the inspiration behind the song at Atwood Magazine.

Released October 10 on Magnetic Eye Records, BEAR explores the ever-elusive idea of belonging, where it exists, and where it doesn’t. Audra wrote the record after realizing she had been, in her words, “kicked out of womanhood, if I was ever part of it in the first place.” The album opens and closes with songs about girls and the harm they endure at the hands of other girls and women. BEAR was co-produced by Buick Audra (vocals, guitar) and Jerry Roe (drums, bass) with longtime collaborator Kurt Ballou, who tracked the instrumentals and mixed the record.

On the single, Buick Audra shares:
“I learned of Reena’s story through the work of Rebecca Godfrey, who wrote a book about this horrific event, and I was struck by this tale of exclusion, violence, and ultimately death that befell a kid who just wanted to fit in. I know it well, and I also know how little empathy women and girls are sometimes able to extend to their own kind. I’ve felt it all my life. In this track, I’m trying to say, look at what we do to each other. I recorded the vocals for ‘DEAD & DISCARDED GIRLS’ last year on November 14, in tribute to her. The track spans the broadest dynamics on the whole record, going from an intimate opening to a crushing middle section, audibly reflecting the track’s message: care about someone else; care about her. Reena was drowned, so the song and video are both centered around water.”

Jerry Roe adds:
“I tend to see visuals and work off my gut instinct to begin with when it’s time to make a video for a song, but I leaned harder on that than anything else this time. Rather than get overly specific or directly reference what this song was about, I wanted to involve water and the type of foliage that lives around bodies of water. Contrasted against the dark black and blue predominantly slow-motion performance footage that’s made to look as if we’re underwater ourselves, my goal was to sort of present souls that have been lost to the water as living on underneath and in the earth forever. Not trapped, but there to remind us always of what should be and wasn’t.”

Tracklist:

  1. KEEPING SCORE
  2. DRAIN
  3. DRIPPING SILVER
  4. MELT
