Atlanta, GA psychedelic thrash metal quartet SADISTIC RITUAL are today premiering Maelstrom of Consciousness, the third single to be taken from their upcoming album, The Enigma, Boundless, via Distorted Sound alongside an accompanying visualizer.

WATCH THE VISUALIZER FOR MAELSTROM OF CONSCIOUSNESS VIA DISTORTED SOUND HERE.

Maelstrom of Consciousness will be available via all streaming services on Friday, April 22.

The Enigma, Boundless is due out via Prosthetic Records on May 20 – pre-order here.

Speaking on the premiere, SADISTIC RITUAL‘s Charlie Southern (vocals / guitar) comments: “Maelstrom of Consciousness is the chaos labyrinth that is our mind. Hallucinogenic thoughts that break the thresholds into the beyond. For a brief moment suspended in no time; you are no longer a servant to this world. We feel this is a stand out track that will help set our vision apart from others, and for that reason it is one of our favorite tracks from The Enigma, Boundless. Play it loud and plunge yourself into unreality.”

SADISTIC RITUAL delivers classic thrash licks in spades, set against a backdrop of chugging, headbang-worthy tunes. The accessibility of their songs – which will delight metalheads across subgenres – belies the thought and consideration that goes into each element of SADISTIC RITUAL. Their strong DIY ethic means everyone’s getting their hands dirty along the way, and allows each member to play to their strengths. In the case of guitarist, Alex Parra, that includes notching up production credits on the recording of The Enigma, Boundless, Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Tomb Mold, Venom Prison) was brought in to master the album.

With a disdain for authority, and themes of real world horrors – specifically spiritual and political fears being confronted – running through the album, there’s a dark and sometimes paranoid undercurrent to the lyrical content on The Enigma, Boundless, penned by Southern and drummer, Joe Sweat. Throw in an affection for LSD and the psychedelic part of ‘psychedelic thrash’ starts to become further apparent. The Enigma, Boundless was written, recorded, and ritualized under the dystopian schism that was 2020 – and arrives here in 2022 to annihilate the fallacies of a fabricated reality. The distinctive album art was crafted through a collaborative process between artist Erica Frevel and Sweat, who shared themes, ideas and creative directions to guide her visual representations. Bassist LaMar George worked on the album layout, making the presentation of the overall album aesthetic a truly collaborative effort – and an accurate depiction of SADISTIC RITUAL in 2022.

The Enigma, Boundless tracklist:
1. End of All Roads
2. And You
3. Dire Avidity
4. Murmur
5. Maelstrom of Consciousness
6. Area Denial
7. The Blood of Memory
8. Raving Voyeurism
9. Enigma, Boundless

SADISTIC RITUAL is:
Charlie Southern – Guitar/Vocals
Alex Parra – Guitar
LaMar George – Bass
Joe Sweat – Drums

DUNKELNACHT to Unleash Last EP “Sombre Nuit” on May 16th

Black/Death metal band DUNKELNACHT will release their last EP, “Sombre nuit”, on 16 MAY 2022 via Non Serviam Records. The band went back on its roots, re-recording 4 songs of their first full-length “Atheist Dezekration” (M&O Music, 2010)!

EP Statement

For the past two decades Heimdall & Alkhemohr have been playing Black/Death metal in various representations. They share a great passion for the extreme genres and that’s what keeps them moving forward as a project. They strive to create an extreme music that they want to listen to. Fast, brutal, aggressive yet melodic with lyrics focusing on a relentless anti-monotheism manifesto, “Sombre nuit” represents the perfect mix between hatred, revulsion & hope. The band spreads its message through their native tongue: French. This EP is a tribute to one of the true origins of extreme music as well.

The 2022 EP “Sombre nuit” track listing reads as follows:

  1. Oligarchislamisme
  2. Les ailes clouées du sionisme
  3. Étau chrétien
  4. L’antichambre des âmes torturées (Acoustique)

Alkhemohr comments:

“Weaponize the wisdom, convert the passive as an ally. Don’t be nostalgic for anything and then… disappear. Stay there for a lifetime, huddled in the shadows. At last, reborn.

We are no longer the same, the spirit forged by the scars. Eloquence, on the other hand, remains close to the most pure convictions. This dark night (“Sombre nuit”) inspires us, our spirits heat up and the corpus stirs in creative form. So here is the light…

And it is upon reading these words that our opponents begin to tremble, because they know very well that, behind the conflagration, we are back.”

DunkelNacht was formed in 2004/2005 (Lille/France) by Heimdall (guitar, music, programming, mix) as one-man-band project, joined later in 2007 by bassist/lyricist Alkhemohr. The combo went through several line-up changes but kept their flame alive and toured in EU, Russia & UK supporting acts like Belphegor, Gorgoroth, Entombed AD… Despite the musicians moving forward in their art/discography, they plan to evolve/grow their dynamic Black/Death Metal; however this “off-track” EP is necessary and gives the songs back a better well-deserved production. In 2020, amist the COVID-19 pandemic, Heimdall re-located to Canada, the group recorded their last single with former main vocalist M.C. Abagor entitled “Biss Der Engel”.

DunkelNacht is:
Heimall – Guitars & Main Vocals
Alkhemohr – Bass & Backing Vocals
Tegaarst – Drums & Organ

The time has arrived! After 12 years of silence, death metal machine SEVERE TORTURE has returned with a brand new EP, ‘Fisting the Sockets,’ which is due on June 10! The band is now sharing the title track from the effort, which can be heard at THIS LOCATION.

In addition, the brutal death metal outfit will be performing in the United States on October 10 at the New Standard Elite Festival in Las Vegas, NV!

SEVERE TORTURE comments: “‘Fisting the Sockets’ is actually the first song we wrote after drummer Damien [Kerpentier] joined the band. It immediately gave us the confidence that we were on the right path, musically. So when it was time to choose the first song to share with everyone, it made sense to pick this song. We hope y’all enjoy it and stay tuned for more music, real soon!”

Pre-sales are now live at the Season of Mist shop HERE. The album can be pre-saved HERE.

The cover artwork was created by Roberto Toderico.

Track-list
1. Fisting the Sockets (4:33) [WATCH VIDEO]
2. Entangled in Hate (4:00)
3. Head and Hands not found (5:18)

Release Date: June 10, 2022

Brutal. Death. Metal.
These words define the unique sound of the extreme metal that SEVERE TORTURE is known for since 1997. SEVERE TORTURE has been a constant force over the last 25 years, in presence as well as in their line-up. Their debut album “FEASTING ON BLOOD” was hailed as an instant classic in the early beginnings of the new wave of brutal death metal in 2001.

Ever since the release of their debut the band has toured extensively. Playing shows in North and South America, Mexico and their home continent Europe in support of the 5 albums they have released over the last 25 years.

Since SEVERE TORTURE is about quality not quantity, they have been laying low since their latest album “SLAUGHTERED”, released in 2010. While still playing shows for the love of the genre, the band was in search of the brutality and energy needed for the material of a new SEVERE TORTURE album. This soul-searching led to the amical split with original drummer Seth in 2018, who was replaced 2018 by Damien Kerpentier. With renewed energy and focus the band started with a clean slate by writing new material, arguably their best material to this day.

“FISTING THE SOCKETS” will be the first feat of SEVERE TORTURE in 12 years. The band has re-signed their deal with Season of Mist and if it wasn’t for a certain pandemic this upcoming EP “FISTING THE SOCKETS” was probably released much earlier.

SEVERE TORTURE is currently recording their full-length album, to be released early 2023 through Season of Mist Records.

The formation of Vanilla Fudge with Carmine Appice, Tim Bogert, and Vince Martell, allowed Mark Stein to first come into prominence. In addition to his many years within Vanilla Fudge, Stein has also worked extensively with such rock legends as Alice Cooper, Dave Mason, and the late guitarist Tommy Bolin. He has also made guest appearances with Deep Purple, Carl Palmer, and Steve Miller. He once sang and recorded with Michael Jackson.  Stein has recently released a new collection of songs through Deko Entertainment about hope, unity, concern, and redemption titled There’s a Light.

Now Stein and Deko Entertainment are releasing a new single and video for “Let’s Pray for Peace” with all the proceeds going to benefit Ukrainian refugees through UNICEF.  Stein had this to say, “I wrote ‘Let’s Pray for Peace’ during the time the world was being ravaged by terrorist attacks…today, it’s my dedication to Ukraine.” Deko president, Bruce Pucciarello, continues, “This Ukrainian news footage is personal to me.  Genocides become reality when we let bad people distract us from our commonality to justify aggression. This video is Mark’s love letter to us all, reminding us how the healing starts.  Let’s pray for peace. Tonight.”

American Hard Rock band Artifas was formed in 2011 in Jackson, TN by lead guitarist Cody Criswell and lead vocalist Scottie Somerville. In the months following, the two founders of the group would immediately recruit an assortment of hometown musicians and begin looking to record their debut EP. After having a long and ugly encounter that resulted in the theft of all the bands funds and receiving no album in return, the original incarnation of the group would spend 2012-2013 doing several independent tours and writing music. After debuting with their EP Enemy Inside in 2013 and doing numerous regional/national tours in support of it, the band replaced former members with guitarist Mikey Miller, bassist Anthony Mattox, and drummer Jared Wainscott.

With almost two years of touring with the new lineup under their belts, Artifas inked themselves a record deal and hit the studio to make their first full length album. The 2015 release of the title track, “Inhuman,” would bring the band some commercial success, reaching # 32 on Billboard’s Active Rock chart and sending the band on the road in support of their new album. The band landed tours with established artists like Theory of a Deadman, Shamans Harvest, Pop Evil, Saint Asonia, Aranda, and others. The follow up single from that record, “Blood 4 Blood”, would later get picked up by the World Series of Fighting and subsequently land a feature in the UFC movie “Fight Valley”. The band parted ways with their record label in 2016, and remained on tour throughout the US for most of the following year, also traveling internationally for the first time with the likes of Papa Roach, Hoobastank,  P.O.D.,  Trapt, and Sick Puppies to play for our American Troops.

Multiple tour cycles later, Artifas found themselves back in the studio making new music. The band worked with multiple writers and producers throughout the entirety of 2018, but would ultimately only find themselves frustrated with the recordings that resulted. After a soul search within the group, Artifas elected to embrace their own vision and write/produce their next album independently, free from the creative overreach of outside influence.

After two years of writing, recording, and mixing, Artifas completed the new album, and unleashed it upon the world. With catchy guitar riffs, dizzying drums, and soaring melodies, Reflections will send you on an emotional journey, exploring the band’s semi-prog, radio rock sound while diving deeper into the human complex with lyrics centered around self awareness and the bands own struggles with mental health. The goal for the creation of this album was to make a record that met the band’s expectations and you can rest assured they held nothing back. Mixed and Mastered by Forrester Savell (Twelve Foot Ninja, Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus), Reflections promises to wow you with musical prowess, all the while delivering Artifas’ important message on unity, inspiration, and the sempiternal battle between dark and light.

PURIFIED IN BLOOD must be considered Norwegian underground legends, and in 2022 they are finally ready to unleash brand new music for their relentlessly loyal fans.

Listen to MYRÅ here: https://orcd.co/myraa

Their aggressive and unique take on metal has ripped through the scene since 2003, influencing several of contemporary metal and punk acts.

Purified in Blood’s raw and uncompromising sound, blending furious guitar riffs with driving rhythms and powerful and menacing vocals, paired with their assailing and dominant live shows, put them in class of their own. The result is fierce extreme metal, mixing the best of thrash, hard metal and death metal into their own unique sound.

Now in 2022, the band is finally back with new music. Nearly a decade’s wait has paid off and Purified in Blood returns with two new tracks.
