MEIN KOPF IST EIN BRUTALER ORT Release Official Video for New Single ‘Die Gute Tat’

The new single “Die gute Tat” from the upcoming album “Ton Steine Scherben” (Metalville Records – street date 22.04.) by the German thrash / metal core band MEIN KOPF IST EIN BRUTALER ORT takes us on a tour of crumbling castles in the air and broken hearts. It shows how much destructive power can be behind the best of intentions. The song takes us through the relationship of a couple who have to unmask each other again and again in order to be able to break away from each other.

The prophecy of a world heading for an inevitable collapse seems to be coming true. Many things that seem commonplace to everyone no longer work. And although the neck still seems strong – after all, one has worn the crown of creation long enough – it is difficult to face the challenges with one’s head held high. In the midst of chaos and uncertainty, the six musicians put their finger on the wound with “Tons Steine Sterben” and give things a name. What is still real, what is fiction – the boundaries become blurred. The songs try to find a lighthouse in the fog of half-truths, in a world that is changing faster and faster and at the same time stands still.

With their third album, the band consolidates its reputation as the German Lamb of God, and has enlisted prominent support in the form of Tue Madsen at the controls. Compared to the previous albums, the result is even harder and more finesse and manages to capture the power of their live performance.

MEIN KOPF IST EIN BRUTALER ORT directs one eye on the world and one inwards. The gaze is watchful, the voice strong, the message clear: The world is changing and we are here!

Enigmatic dark metal outfit DEATHWHITE will be releasing their third full-length, ‘Grey Everlasting,’ on June 10 via Season of Mist! The band has partnered with The Obelisk for the release of their devastating new single, “No Thought or Memory,” which can be heard at THIS LOCATION.

DEATHWHITE comments:

“‘No Thought or Memory’ details the opioid epidemic ravaging the United States and the perils of addiction. It is well documented how pharmaceutical companies have made billions by getting people hooked on their substances. The fact that they have gotten away with it for so long is reprehensible, but how quickly prescription drug abuse can destroy lives and families is even worse. The amount of lives affected is untold and there is no end in sight.”

‘Grey Everlasting’ will follow up 2020’s critically-acclaimed ‘Grave Image,’ which was named one of the best metal albums of 2020 by Bravewords, Heavy New York, Dead Rhetoric, A&P Reacts, Teeth of the Divine, and Pandemonium TV.

SOULFLY to Release “The Soul Remains Insane” – Studio Albums 1998 to 2004 – Vinyl + CD Box Sets, Out June 17th

Driven by Max Cavalera‘s unrelenting energy, unmistakable growl, and instantly recognizable riffage, the earthy tones and motivational rhythmic bounce of SOULFLY maintain a gritty spiritual heart while pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in metal. Nowhere is that more apparent than on the four triumphant, redemptive, and crucial eclectic offerings presented in this brand new box set, celebrating the first six years of the band career.

Soulfly (1998) was a riotously heavy escalation of the innovation established on Max’s final album with Sepultura, launching a brand-new era. Primitive (2000) and 3 (2002) stomp with tribal groove; Prophecy (2004) is as unsettling but evocative as the tombs of the martyrs across Europe. Max introduced metalheads to the berimbau. He popularized varieties of camouflage and brought football chants to metal shows, while attacking his guitar on the bridge and unleashing classic after classic with Sepultura, Nailbomb, Soulfly, and Cavalera Conspiracy. His music is brutal yet unapologetically transcendent punk-infused extremity. To commune with the burning muse of metal’s shamanistic tribal leader is to envelop oneself inside a post-modern sonic sweat lodge. Brutal riffs, trippy esoteric ritual, unrelenting percussion, primal screams; no matter what Cavalera hammers out on his four-string guitar, it always sets souls free.

No one doubts Max Cavalera’s commitment to the subculture cause. He sold millions of albums yet walks freely amongst the crustiest of gutter punks with unquestionable credibility. He is one part renegade spiritual guide to the metal community, stretching from the roughest slums of South America to the coldest confines of Siberia, and all-parts old-school headbanger. Max is also a growling savage, cultural revolutionary, unpretentious innovator, American and Brazilian football fanatic, caffeinated soda guzzler, lyrical terrorizer, devoted husband, family man, riff-master, black metal loving, God-fearing, beloved spirit animal to all metal fans.

‘The Soul Remains Insane’ is a deluxe collection of the first four studio albums by Soulfly and also contains a bonus album of singles, b-sides, rare cuts and a couple of previously unreleased songs. Also included is a book telling the story of these seminal records through new interviews with Max Cavalera which contains many previously unseen photos from the era. The box set will be available as a 5 album, 8LP vinyl box and 5CD box.

MARATON Release New Music Video for Single ‘Perdurant Lives’

Norwegian MARATON are known for their distinct and iconic soundscape, characterised by technical drums, earthquake-awakening bass, shimmering guitars and almost sacred vocals.

The band release a new music video for their single “Perdurant Lives”, watch it below.

About the new music video, singer Fredrik states:
“Perdurant Lives is a song about accepting that you will never be a perfect human being. A snippet from a life will always show that one is missing or seeking something. This video was made as a reflection of highs and lows. When ever you think you reached the the ultimate “peak-you”, the mind twist the success to reflect another dimension of problems/situations you have to deal with. Lets go in to the rabbit-hole together:
This is Perdurant Lives“

Maraton break boundaries between genres, creating progressive alternative rock with roaring bass, massive guitars and exceptional vocals. Described as “shamelessly melodic”, the band experiments with sounds and creates music that can be described as a dynamic journey through sensory impressions. Thematically, lines are drawn between the emotional and the philosophical, and the songs are based on human receptivity to new impressions and developments.
Maraton released their debut album “Meta” in 2019, with great success and very good reviews internationally. At the time of writing, the debut has almost 3 million plays on Spotify alone, and despite the pandemic and little opportunity for concerts, the band’s fan base is constantly growing.

The band has been praised for their fantastic and energetic live performances with such claims as: “Bergersen’s falsetto delivery is simply amazing” and “With a voice driven by power and clarity, I was left with goosebumps in places you did not know you could get goosebumps ” -Heavymetal.no.
Maraton have previously played at festivals such as Roskildefestivalen in Denmark, By:larm– and the Trondheim Rocks festival in Norway, and after the debut album they went on an extensive European tour with Leprous.

By combining and experimenting with different genres, the band creates a distinct and iconic soundscape that is characterized by technical drumming performed with mechanical precision, earthquake-awakening bass, shimmering guitars and almost sacred vocals.
Despite this strange and wonderful mix, the songs present themselves as surprisingly catchy, but at the same time timeless, and as something that should be enjoyed and absorbed through more than one listening. Maraton are finally back with new music, and the follow-up album “Unseen Color” is expected in the autumn of 2022.

LENA SCISSORHANDS feat. DEATH DEALER UNION have released a video for ‘Borderlines’, via Napalm Records.

“My first song in collaboration with Death Dealer Union… It didn’t just help me stay busy and creative in the times of a big global depression but also worked as therapy in the times of need. I had fun collaborating with new musicians! Please enjoy ‘Borderlines.’” – Lena Scissorhands

“With all the amazing and talented bands of the last decade, we wanted to stand apart by capturing some of the foundational aspects of Metal and yet weave a strong thread of modern female fronted Nu-Metal but with no rules!“ – CC McKenna

Buy/Stream here: https://lnk.to/DDU-Borderlines

Lena Scissorhands featuring Death Dealer Union is an alternative power metal collaboration envisioned by drummer and main songwriter CC McKenna, a skilled veteran Los Angeles musician with vast experience as an actor, model and businessman.

Everything started when CC and the guitarist Doug Wei and started to compose music together during studio jam sessions.

After a few songs took shape in the recording studio, they auditioned several lead vocalists before the awesome Lena Scissorhands, a true rock/metal queen, wrote and featured some phenomenal lead vocals on Death Dealer Union songs.

The rest is history…
