Kar project was born in 2017 from an idea of Matteo Bellesi and Tommaso Palma, to whom joins shortly after drummer Filippo Baldi, the idea consists in the creation of simple music, direct and incisive, that makes people dance and immediately gets into the listener’s head, the style that came out oscillates between hard rock, southern rock with touches of blues and stoner and the band quickly produces a huge amount of new material, which gets tested on numerous gigs; encouraged by the result of their work the three start working on their first official EP that will be released on February 4th, 2022.
Rock band PLUSH have premiered their brand new single and video for ‘Better Off Alone’ a track from their self-titled debut album. This song follows the previous single ‘Hate’ which hit number 24 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart and camped out there for a total of 17 weeks straight. ‘Better Off Alone’ is charged with energy and is a song of empowerment. It’s the kind of rock that resonates with listeners of all ages and has an unforgettable chorus.
Vocalist Moriah Formica says, “‘Better Off Alone’ is a song about realizing what’s best for you and then doing it. I really hope everyone connects with this song and enjoys it!”
Drummer Brooke Colucci adds, “I love the musicality of ‘Better Off Alone’! The tom groove during the verses is a lot of fun to play. I’m very excited to play this song live, as I believe the crowd will really be able to get into this song!”
Guitarist Bella Perron notes, “I feel ‘Better Off Alone’ represents our chemistry as a band and showcases our vision of empowerment while also highlighting each of our own musical personalities. I hope you all love it as much as we do!”
Bassist Ashley Suppa shares, “This song is not only representative of heartbreak and anger, but also the independence of those feelings and the person who is causing you pain. Leaving is never easy but at times it is necessary. These are the moments in which you truly will be ‘Better Off Alone’.”

Bassist David Ellefson and guitarist Chris Poland have come together to record one final song posthumously with their friend and former MEGADETH drummer Gar Samuelson. The new track “The Raven” is the latest single from Fatal Opera, part of a new twelve-song collection of demo material compiled as the group’s final release, entitled FATAL OPERA 3, out now on Combat Records ®.
You can view the lyric video for “The Raven” here:
FATAL OPERA: Following his departure from Megadeth in 1987, Gar Samuelson assembled his new band Fatal Opera, along with his brother Stew on guitar. Gar went on to produce the group’s debut album in 1994, which also featured Dave Inman on vocals, Travis Karcher on bass and Billy Brehme on guitar. The group’s second album Eleventh Hour was released in 1997 and introduced Andy Freeman on vocals, reaching top 10 on European charts while the group continued building a loyal fan base touring across the USA that year. Sadly, in1999 Gar became ill and passed away, at which point the group disbanded.
Then, in 2018 Andy and Stew set out to remix the Eleventh Hour LP and in the process discovered a collection of demos with Gar which were intended to become the band’s third album before his passing. Although the demo tapes were damaged after many years of neglect, Freeman labored to revive the tracks with some songs lost forever. However, he was able to complete 12 tracks, inviting Ellefson & Poland to participate on “The Raven” as a way to conclude the legacy of Gar and Fatal Opera.
Chris Poland recalls, “Back in the day, long before Megadeth, Gar and his brother Stew were the heart and soul of a heavy instrumental jazz/rock project called THE NEW YORKERS. I played guitar with them and Robbie “Pag” Pagliari played fretless bass. It was everything we could do just to keep up! Stew’s right hand was a machine. Flawless. And Gar was right there with him always pushing things to the next level. And again, these two brothers were the heart and soul of Fatal Opera. It was a privilege to be a part of this release, and playing on ‘The Raven’ with David Ellefson made it that much more special. Gar was a true artist. Be it his amazing drumming, his painting or his wood sculpture pipe (he made by hand). Gar was one of a kind. And here Gar, Stew and crew push the limits of experimental metal. These songs are complex yet accessible. Music with a dark side that draws you into their world and keeps you wondering ‘what’s next!’”Chris Poland also added additional guitar work to the track “Mask of Time”.
David Ellefson adds,“This is a really cool moment for Chris and me to musically reunite with our friend Gar, now almost 35 years after our last studio session together, which was the 1987 re-recording of ‘These Boots Are Made for Walkin’ for the Dudes movie soundtrack, compiled by director Penelope Spheeris. Gar was always such a free spirit with his music, no click tracks or digital reinvention for him. And, he seldom played the same thing twice, quite unusual for heavy metal! He just went for it with real gusto and that became the hallmark of his sound.”
He continues, “When I was laying down the bass track for ‘The Raven’ it reminded me once again of Gar’s spontaneity in the studio, as if we were recording live in the same room together. I’m super happy these tracks were brought to life so we could have one last go around with Gar behind the kit. It’s a reminder that he truly was one of the greats!”
Combat Records ® is the label which was home to many iconic thrash & metal albums in the 1980s & 90s and was relaunched by Ellefson & Co. in 2017. It was also home to Gar Samuelson’s first full length record with Megadeth, their eponymous debut Killing is My Business…and Business is Good (1985). Ellefson states, “As a label, we are proud to release these final tracks from Gar. He was a masterful drummer who made an incredible impact on fans and musicians everywhere. I think it’s appropriate that Combat would be home to his first and now final recordings.”
Fatal Opera 3 is available now across all digital outlets.

As a child, the sound of Led Zeppelin’s “Black Dog” traveled from the Grammy-nominated vocalist BETH HART’s neighbor’s house into her orbit. Her brother introduced her to the heavy rock of Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, and her major-label debut came on Atlantic with the 1996 release of ‘Immortal’ – the same label that introduced Led Zeppelin to the world in 1969. Now, Hart is paying tribute to one of the most formative musical influences of her career with the release of ‘A Tribute To Led Zeppelin,’ out February 25th via Provogue/Mascot Label Group. Anchoring the nine-track album is a blistering take on Led Zeppelin’s 1971 hit “Black Dog,” the opening track of their legendary fourth studio album.
At the helm during the recording of ‘A Tribute To Led Zeppelin’ was super-producer Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance) and engineer Doug McKean (Goo Goo Dolls, Adam Lambert). The A-list musicians include Cavallo on guitar along with Tim Pierce (Bruce Springsteen, Tina Turner); on bass was Chris Chaney (Rob Zombie, Slash);on keyboards was Jamie Muhoberac (Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones); on drums was Dorian Crozier (Celine Dion, Miley Cyrus, Joe Cocker), and Matt Laug played drums on Stairway To Heaven (Alanis Morissette, Alice Cooper). Orchestral arrangements were by David Campbell (Muse, Beyoncé). All that was left was the final piece of the puzzle…the voice.
Things clicked into place when Cavallo was producing Hart’s previous album, ‘War In My Mind’ (2019), and she did an impromptu version of “Whole Lotta Love” in the studio. He later asked about doing a whole record. Beth said, “I’m not doing this whole album. To do Zeppelin, you’ve got to be pissed off to hit that right. I can’t go there; I’ve worked years to put my rage away.”
She continues, “then the pandemic and all the things around it hit. So now I’m pissed off. I called my manager and said, have Rob and Doug send me all the music because I am ready to do this.”
If you were to rewind, you could say the story for a Led Zeppelin album started further back; in May 2004 Hart prowled the stage at the Paradiso in Amsterdam for an incendiary performance of “Whole Lotta Love”. The song became a semi-regular fixture in her setlist over the years, including a memorable performance with Slash.
Earlier on in Beth’s career, former VP of Led Zeppelin’s Swan Song label, Alan Callan, recommended Beth contact Jeff Beck to work together. Hart and Beck have gone on to form a beautiful friendship. Beck and Jimmy Page are also friends, and for a while, bandmates in The Yardbirds. After Beck’s departure from the band, they would eventually become Led Zeppelin.
After her phenomenal performance at the 2012 Kennedy Center Honors for Buddy Guy, she received a standing ovation from Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, and John Paul Jones.
Talking about the music and legacy of Zeppelin, she says, “it’s so beautifully done, it’s timeless. It will go on forever. Sometimes people come along, and they’re from another planet, and they make these pieces of art which will forever be.”
Hart is recognized as one of her generation’s most talented voices. She has sold out tours worldwide, including performances at historic venues such as Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, London’s Royal Albert Hall, and the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. She’s topped the Billboard Blues charts six times, gone double platinum and had a string of Top 10 charting albums across Europe.
On a final thought, Beth pauses and reflects to say, “this Zeppelin album allowed me to get all my rage out, and for that, I’m really grateful.”
