AGATHODAIMON Announce Comeback Album “The Seven” + Reveal First Single

Nine years after the release of In Darkness, German dark metal frontrunners AGATHODAIMON set the stage for their long-awaited comeback – the bittersweet seventh studio album, The Seven, out March 18, 2022 via Napalm Records. AGATHODAIMON’s exceptional new strike maintains the old-school spirit of its predecessor, but can’t be pigeonholed due to its dynamic and widespread musical styles, evoking a gloomy atmosphere fueled by sharp growls, epic clear vocals and a gripping, exceptional sonic universe.

Formed in 1995 and entering the scene with their debut, Blacken the Angel, in 1998, bandleader Sathonys was temporarily forced to put AGATHODAIMON on hold in 2014 due to private circumstances. But the irrevocable fire of the band and their fans never went out, seeking a reawakening of this sonic, seething beast.

Now, the gates of darkness have opened once again with the massive first single “Ain’t Death Grand” as a mouth-watering harbinger, alongside a hard-hitting music video. The song breaks in with evil screams spit from the devil himself while evoking a hellfire of thundering drums and razor-sharp riffs to create an intense mélange fueled with heroic symphonic black metal passages.

Sathonys on the first single:
“’Ain’t Death Grand’ was the first song we’ve written together after our reunion, so it rightfully became the first video clip. Especially as it acts as an excellent teaser for what’s still to come: As usual, the songs of THE SEVEN won’t be one-dimensional, there’s a wide range of styles you can expect, just like we did it in the past. BUT this one has a lot of elements in common with the other songs: Dark atmosphere, melody, aggression, intensity, groove, some old school-vibe and respect for our roots, but also the inevitable longing for new musical grounds and heartfelt music in general.”

AGATHODAIMON‘s massive new outburst, The Seven, reveals extreme soundscapes amid a captivating concoction of evil, provoking, cutting dark metal and heroic symphonic black metal in the style of bands like Cradle of Filth and Carach Angren, but with their unique and very own multifaceted take. Thematically, as hinted by the album’s title, the full-length is centered around the momentous and symbolically powerful number seven and the seven deadly sins – sloth, greed, lust, gluttony, pride, wrath, envy – on ten tracks total, all addressed with religious topics that contrast with human beings and its original nature.

Sathonys about the album:
“Well, we took our time in creating this album. We had to make sure we (can) work together as a band after all these years, that the chemistry is there, that it feels organic to release another album after such a long break. To cut it short, we’re really looking forward to have THE SEVEN out, as we’re very satisfied with it. More than that, we’re proud of it. Typically, you can point a finger at one or two songs that really stand out from the rest, but here, you’ll feel the effort that was put into every song and every aspect. Not only in terms of songwriting, there’s also the artistic concept and visual artwork/realization delivered by the team of Credo Quia Absurdum, or the excellent production under the supervision of our friend Kristian “Kohle” Kohlmannslehner (Powerwolf, Aborted, Benighted etc.). Usually you have to be prepared to make compromises. THE SEVEN is far from that, as it is our most ambitious album to date.”

Diving into this exciting construct with opener “La Haine”, the track lures the listener into the freezing, dark world of AGATHODAIMON, produced by long-time companion Kristian “Kohle” Bonifer (Aborted, Powerwolf, Hämatom amongst others), by building up a dense wall of thunderous sound, accented by a multifaceted vocal interpretation. Songs like raging “Wolf Within” and haunting “In my Dreams” roam between dense soundscapes, crushing instrumentals and intense lyricism. “Kyrie / Gloria” on the other hand stomps more towards heavy doom metal, calling for a black mass with creeping darkness and desperate screams turning into harsh black metal parts, all topped by the guest appearance of Benighted frontman Julien Truchan. Amid the tracklisting there’s another special treat for fans lurking with epochal orchestration that paves the war for the remarkable performance of AGATHODAIMON’s former vocalist, Romanian Vlad Dracul, on “Mother of all Gods”. It’s not only this very first collaboration since 1999, but The Seven as a whole, that showcases that AGATHODAIMON absolutely acing the balancing act of incorporating their past into a bright and exciting future.

The Seven tracklist:
1. La Haine
2. Ain’t Death Grand
3. Wolf Within
4. Ghosts of Greed
5. Mother of all Gods
6. Estrangement
7. In my Dreams (Part 1 – Prelude)
8. In my Dreams (Part 2 – In Bitterness)
9. Kyrie / Gloria
10. The Divine

CATHARSIS: Release Music Video For ‘Your Truth’

Polish death metallers from CATHARSIS have released the first music video from their latest album “Human Failures” released mid 2021 via Mad Lion Records. The aesthetics of the video reflects the band’s fascinations with old black and white horror movies and was shot in the original ruins of the mausoleum nearby the palace in Sławików (Poland). Check out the video:

The video was directed by Marcin Pawłowski, who is also the author of the script. Movie editing and digital processing was done by Endorfina Artmedia.

Adam Mamok comments:
“We are very pleased with the end result. This time it took us a long time to get the whole thing completed. The plot is divided into two parts. A story, which is a metaphore for the lyrics of “Your Truth” and shots of the band. I admit, that it was great fun for us and we discovered each other in new roles. The convention of an old movie from the 1930s adds to the dark atmosphere of this video.”

THE HUMAN TORNADO Unveil New Single ‘Last Embrace’

The fury of Italy’s THE HUMAN TORNADO will be unleashing the new album “Love Is Démodé” on March 11, 2022 via Rockshots Records.

Offering a slab of smashing knock-out heavy groove rock, The Human Tornado has been making shockwaves since forming in 2014 in Bologna, Italy. The band made their debut in 2016 with their first full-length “Storm In A Ketchup” on Hidden Stone Records along with supporting touring bands such as Twelve Foot Ninja, Destrage, and Crazy Town.

The Human Tornado‘s sophomore follow-up “Love Is Démodé” was self-produced by the band with mixing and mastering done by Marco Paradisi at Boat Studio. The album will feature ten hurricane tour de force tracks that will leave fans breathless and eager to set the track listing on repeat from beginning to end.

“Every song is played with heart and soul and we wanted to explore new sounds, but without forgetting our heavy rock imprint, so we produced an intense groovy album with more melodic openings.” adds the band.

The lyrical concept behind the album is love, one of the strongest feelings of deep affection. It has different aspects and it can be addressed to another person, an animal, or a passion. But, if it’s pure, this doesn’t matter.

The band explains further: ”For some years this feeling of love has been declining, going out of fashion. In fact, in our society finding people loving what they do is increasingly difficult and often image, power, success are the most important aspects of life. Moreover, these goals are more and more often achieved by means of questionable actions and negative feelings. In this album we want to express our idea of love in particular towards music, showing in every single song even the dark and negative sides coming from love in our life.“

Today, in preview to the album, the band is sharing their second single “Last Embrace” with a new visualizer.
“Sometimes we meet people literally turning our lives upside down. At first, we believe we have finally met the right person, our soulmate, but step by step we realize that our dignity is slowly crumbling. Then it’s hard to give up everything even when everybody tells us to do so. Absurdly, only extreme events can change our minds and give us the strength to make the right choice. This is the first song written during the composition of the new album that we chose as our second single for its heavy rock sound distinguishing our musical identity.” adds vocalist Roberto Montanari.

Jacksonville, FL based Rock band FORTUNE CHILD has released their debut single, “Far.” Featuring heavy, classic rock guitar riffs, funk basslines, and soaring vocals, “Far” is the first single off of the band’s upcoming, Kevin Elson (JOURNEY, MR. BIG) produced, debut LP, Close to the Sun, due out in early March.

“It’s a fusion of what we’ve heard in the past and what we hear in our heads. An homage to the pioneers of Rock n’ Roll and also our way of bringing it into the modern age.” – FORTUNE CHILD

Pre-order/save at https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/fortunechild/far

Deprive a person of something, and they will surely go out and find it. In an age where Rock N’ Roll has fallen by the wayside, few have heeded the call to preserve its integrity and importance in most of the music we hear today. It’s time to put the question to rest: Rock N’ Roll is here to stay, and Fortune Child will be manning the ship.

Founded in Jacksonville, Florida in 2021, it is no secret that these lovers of good ol’ fashioned Rock were inspired by the likes of Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Alice in Chains, The Black Crowes and so many more. The four-piece band plans to take the Rock N’ Roll scene by storm, and to remind the people of what truly matters: the music itself.

The band is comprised of Christian Powers on vocals, Buddy Crump on lead guitar, Melanie Jo on drums (previously of Billy Gibbons and the BFGs), and Jon Ward on bass and has quickly garnered significant support from the Southeast US Rock N’ Roll scene opening for national touring acts such as Blacktop Mojo. They will continue to do so as they leave crowds wanting more and more after each show. It’s loud, it’s dirty, and it’s down-right badass. Fortune Child is a force to be reckoned with. For 2022, the band has partnered with legendary rock producer Kevin Elson of Journey, Mr. Big, Europe, and Lynyrd Skynyrd to produce their full length debut album Close to the Sun,__ due out in early March. It’s one you won’t want to miss!

10 YEARS Release New Visualizer ‘Deja Vu’ + Announce USA Spring Tour

10 YEARS and Mascot Records / Mascot Label Group have presented a visualizer for the band’s “Déjà Vu” from the album Violent Allies. Guitarist Brian Vodinh shares, “’Déjà Vu’ is a song about trying to tune out the monotonous stuff we face in our everyday lives, and find inspiration in new ways.  This relates to our songwriting process, but also to our personal lives as well.  We can get stuck in the repetitive cycle of reading the same news, looking at social media, and hearing a rehashed version of the same stories over and over.  Sometimes it feels good to check-out, turn off your brain, and connect to other aspects of life.”

The lead single from the Violent Allies album, “The Shift,” has been streamed over 9.1 million times on Spotify, with 15.9 million collective plays across all platforms.  Repertoire from Violent Allies has been streamed 15.8 million times on Spotify, while collective streams across all platforms exceeds 28.6 million.  To view the official music video of “The Shift,” click here: https://youtu.be/yo-7PuzG97Y.

The band will return to the road this Spring with an extensive run of the U.S. that will play 33 markets. Prior, 10 Years will appear on ShipRocked 2022 from January 22-27. On April 8, the Official Fan Summit will be staged in Las Vegas at 24 Oxford, where the band will perform their Feeding The Wolves album in its entirety, featuring the prior singles “Fix Me” and “Shoot It Out,” for the first, and likely only time ever. A complete itinerary follows below. Black Map has been confirmed as direct support with VRSTY opening.

ABOUT 10 YEARS:
For nearly two decades, 10 Years have quietly pushed themselves and modern rock towards evolution. Building a formidable catalog, the group’s gold-selling 2005 breakthrough The Autumn Effect yielded the hit “Wasteland,” which went gold, infiltrated the Billboard Hot 100, and clinched #1 at Active Rock Radio and #1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs Chart. They landed three Top 30 entries on the Billboard Top 200 with Division [2008], Feeding the Wolves [2010], and Minus the Machine [2012]. (How to Live) As Ghosts, released in 2017, marked a reunion between Jesse, Brian, and Matt and achieved marked success. Not only did the album bow in the Top 5 of the US Top Hard Rock Albums Chart, but it also yielded the hit “Novacaine.” The single ascended to the Top 5 of the Billboard US Mainstream Rock Songs Chart and tallied 22 million Spotify streams, alongside 39 million streams across all dsp’s.  The cumulative total for all track streams from repertoire on How To Live (As Ghosts) exceeds 69.3 million plays. Along the way, they sold out countless headline shows and toured with everyone from Korn, Deftones, and Stone Sour to Chris Cornell and Linkin Park. The band’s most recent album Violent Allies has been a global success with streams approaching 30 million plays.

SAXON Unmask New Single ‘Remember The Fallen’

British Heavy Metal legends SAXON have released the second single, “Remember the Fallen”, from their upcoming album, Carpe Diem – set for release February 4th via Silver Lining Music.

“I wanted to write a song about Covid, about the people that have died, and give my perception of how it seemed to happen” offers Biff Byford. “Certain aspects of it all are quite mysterious, and of course, it hasn’t finished yet, has it? We should all remember those who have died as a group of people not really knowing why they died, because the information wasn’t there.”

The release of “Remember the Fallen” is also accompanied by a reportage-style video montaged with footage of the band’s individual recording sessions. Listen To/Watch the recently released “Carpe Diem (Seize the Day)” at this location

Produced by Andy Sneap (Judas Priest, Exodus, Accept and Priest guitarist) at Backstage Recording Studios in Derbyshire with Byford and Sneap mixing and mastering, Carpe Diem strikes the ear as one of the most essential British metal statements of the last few years and not lacking in pace or bite, an album which will ignite the joy in stalwart supporters and attract a whole new legion to the Saxon fold.

Sneap, himself a guitarist and producer of some metal repute, ensures that Carpe Diem does not lack one ounce of grit or sharpness.

“Andy’s obviously a very good guitarist,” says Biff, “but he’s not a blues-based guitarist like our guys are, he’s more of a modern style player. And that means the boys (Paul Quinn and Doug Scarratt) love working with him because, again, it’s all about the intensity. Andy’s always pushing the envelope, he doesn’t let them get away with anything. They have to play it for real, full speed. He gets great sound, and we want that Gibson/ Marshall ‘80s sound even if they’re not Gibsons and Marshalls. We try and retain that British metal guitar sound that we created for Saxon, and he’s definitely an ‘80s child.”

Despite a career which has spanned 44 years with over 15 million albums sold, including four top 10 UK albums, and having played to hundreds of thousands of fans worldwide, Saxon are revving up for one of their busiest eras yet.

“We’re gonna be quite busy this year,” says Biff. “There are festivals which have been rescheduled from two years ago, we’re looking to go to America, we’re also going to tour UK and Europe later in the year and like everyone really, we’re just keeping our fingers crossed that everything works out and we can do it all. We’re also recording the second Inspirations album, and as we do that, you never know, we might write a few songs for the next Saxon album…”

As you can see, Saxon remain committed to seizing every minute of every hour of every day. Carpe Diem indeed!

Carpe Diem will be available in a variety of formats and pre-orders can be placed at this location
