Last Friday, POWERWOLF launched a stream with real event character that reaches dimensions that have never been seen before. While other bands compensate the circumstance of not being able to perform in front of an audience within the given circumstances with filmed live performances, the wolves take several gigantic steps further!
The band is taking their fans on a journey into the depths of POWERWOLF‘s world with a fantastic setlist performed in a stage setting that is an epic highlight on its own with its visuals, size, equipment and production. In months of hard and detailed work, a story was created – told in several chapters based on POWERWOLF’s music and opulent film scenes, which are smoothly integrated into the show. All show effects, actors and locations go hand in hand with each other and bring the medium of live music to an unprecedented level. From battles with clergy to stories of nuns and monks to burning angels – cinematic images are delivered that immediately capture the viewer while literally abducting them.
Who thought to have already seen everything in live music is loudly and visually proved wrong. POWERWOLF deliver the new benchmark for music streaming events!
Due to the high demand this even goes into extension. Until January 2, 2022, you can still access this masterpiece, and who wants to get an idea in advance, can watch the video for “Fire And Forgive” HERE:
On www.powerwolfstream.com you can find all further info, the trailers, as well as tickets for THE MONUMENTAL MASS – A CINEMATC METAL EVENT. This show is a true must-see for every metal fan!

SECONDHAND DEPRESSION have released their brand new video for their track “The Long Road Home” via Terra Relicta and can be viewed here.
Secondhand Depression adds: “This one is probably one of the coolest tracks we’ve ever written. We tried writing about some pretty innocuous things but then twisting them to make them just slightly darker. There’s a lot of cool percussion stuff going on in this one – I think we used things like toy drums, chains… weird stuff like that. The video is really cool, the imagery is exactly the aesthetic we’re into.”
The band has also released the video on their own YouTube channel which can be viewed here:

Violinist, composer, ethnomusicologist TUOMAS ROUNAKARI has unveiled the Episode 3 for “Bear Awakener” backgrounds and The Bear Awakening songs.
What are the Bear awakening songs all about and how do they sound?? This episode gives an example of a bear awakening song by a Mansi singer Konstantin Atjin. Recorded over a century ago. What did he sing about? At the end you’ll get to hear this wax cylinder recording✨
Tuomas adds: “The Episode 3 is my favorite so far. Getting to the core of Bear awakening songs itself. The material that the entire album is based upon. Poetic and informative. I am also delighted to be able to share one archived wax cylinder recording with the permission of Institute for language of Finland that hosts this collection. This enables my fans to access the same mental time travelling that has inspired me so much.”
The first episode tells about the first explorers in Siberia from the 17th century onwards and what made the Finnish explorers different from others. The second episode gives an example of archive studies and what makes the archived materials inspiring. In the middle of it all we learn about bear related myths and ceremonies of the indigenous Khanty and Mansi people as well as the pre-christian Finns.
Just recently TUOMAS ROUNAKARI posted online a performance video clip, a throwback to Tokyo 2017 gig at Liquid Room, from the materials of ‘Live in Japan’ documentary by Kimmo Kuusniemi.
TUOMAS ROUNAKARI’s “Bear Awakener” crowdfunding campaign reached its goal in less than 12 hours! Watch crowdfunding video, telling more details about “Bear Awakener” and its meaning, the video can be seen at https://igg.me/at/bearawakener.
Planned release date of “Bear Awakener” is on March 13th 2022! According to an ancient Finnish bear calendar this date marked the end of winter hibernation and awakening of the bears. The crowdfunding runs until January 2th, 2022, here: https://igg.me/at/bearawakener
What is “Bear Awakener”? The name Bear Awakener comes from specific songs sung in order to awaken the bear. This album dives deep into the bear myths and is designed to re-awaken or cherish anyones connection with this mythical entity.
The myth of a bear’s origin is identical among the Finns and the indigenous Khanty and Mansi people. Both cultures run ceremonial Bear feasts that last several days. Many songs, dances and plays are performed in honor of the bear. Tuomas Rounakari has studied the bear feast songs of all of these cultures. There are thousands of verses containing bear related myths in the vast archives of Finland and the tradition is now returning among the Khanty and Mansi.
TUOMAS ROUNAKARI is an internationally acclaimed violinist, composer and ethnomusicologist from Finland. He is a one-man-band blending violin, vocals and stomping with ankle-bells. In his performance he enters various trance-states. In this album he will also be playing a traditional Khanty instrument called Ning-juh.
Tuomas is inspired by different forms of dialogue; man and nature, the seen and the unseen world, ancient and future. His first solo album Shamanviolin was a result of ethnomusicological studies of the earliest 20th century wax-cylinder recordings from Siberia. These studies have also led to many collaborations with indigenous artists. He is one of the few artists who have actually returned their art to native communities for evaluation and development.
Enjoy online concert from Kaustinen Folk Music Festival 2020. Shamanviolin at Pauanne is a full-length online concert produced by the Kaustinen Folk Music Festival 2020. The concert was filmed at the magical Pauanne where a community of folk musicians and folk healers used to live in the 1980’s. All buildings are fully hand made with many mythological decorations. This Shamanviolin concert ends with lament melodies in a burnt down sauna. The magic and unique beauty of this place is still strong. A perfect environment for my music.
Canada’s The Metal Voice recently spoke to Jethro Tull‘s leader Ian Anderson. In the interview Anderson spoke about the new album ‘The Zealot Gene’, gave an update on the continuing re-issues of the bands catalog and spoke about meeting Iron Maiden’s Steve Harris and performing with Bruce Dickinson.
The Metal Voice asked Ian Anderson of working and meeting Iron Maiden’s Steve Harris and performing with Bruce Dickinson, Anderson Said, “I probably met Steve Harris briefly on one occasion a little bit more on another occasion. I know he is a rather shy person, he said he never wanted to push himself forward in terms of trying to meet me or talk to me. I think I got in touch with him and asked him if he would do a little throw away intro to a particular track on a live concert tour we did, in terms of being a video. A little video contribution that he offered to introduce a song. He went on, “I think his interest in Jethro Tull is probably based on having gone in a direction kind of beyond the performances that you would associate yourself with Iron Maiden. The first thing Iron Maiden seemed to be linked to Jethro Tull was a song called Cross -Eyed Mary which was on the Aqualung album and they did it on an early record release. I think they did it in the same key as I did but puts it in the impossible key for Bruce Dickinson. Bruce is a tenor and I am a baritone a low baritone. So for him to sing down here, he had to go up an octave but then he was going up really an octave which out it in a very uncomfortable high register that even as young Bruce Dickinson, he was pushing his luck singing it an octave higher, than my original vocal. “
He continued,” I don’t really know these people very well at one occasion Bruce was a guest of mine at Canterbury Cathedral’s performance I did in 2011 and he is a great person to work with, very professional, very straightforward, Easy going guy we learnt his couple of songs and he sang on one of ours. I got an e-mail this morning from Bruce Dickinson, that he sent a couple of days ago about asking me to do some live performance project together at the end of next year. “
