DÆMONESQ Share Blistering Video ‘The Beauty of Letting Go’ from Upcoming Debut EP

“The band weaves various shades of darkness together to craft a haunting and introspective listen. The guitars are clear but still have a good amount of raw edge to them, and feature a hypnotic blend of melodic and dissonant riff work. Against this foggy and misty backdrop are the ghostly vocals of lead singer, Rægina, whose voice carries the ideal shrieking grit the style calls for.” ~ Decibel Magazine

February 25, 2022 will see German- based rising black metal force DÆMONESQ unleash their hotly anticipated debut EP, entitled The Beauty of Letting Go. Formed in 2020, the female fronted extreme metal congregation rises to conquer the male dominated realms of metal, guiding you down the path of sweet pain on your way through the valley of the shadow of death.

While the band is currently gearing up for the release of their thunderous 4-track debut,  DÆMONESQ have now shared the fierce EP title track alongside a brutal-heavy video clip! Just exclusively premiered with Decibel Magazine, you can now watch the video – which isn’t for the fainted but a trve black metal heart – right here:

Says vocalist Rægina: “The video for our new single the beauty of letting go depicts the decision to give up on parts of one’s own identity to pave the way for the development of a new self. This decision can be very painful, and we’ll have to be hard on ourselves to actually manage this transformation. Thereby, the video reinforces the message of the lyrics that also emphasize the beauty, freedom, and relief that come with the final choice to let go and give up on what once has been precious to us.”

The Beauty of Letting Go will be independently released by the band on February 25, 2022.

EP Tracklist:

  1. The Beauty of Letting Go
  2. Allure and Grandeur
  3. Battleaxe
  4. Displaced

“We are extremely excited to get new music out to our fans. We are grateful to be in a position where we are able to record and release music in a time where some artists are struggling more than ever. The song “Breaking Sound” is the most recent song we’ve written as a group and I’m definitely looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks!” -says the band’s lead vocalist, Jose Urquiza.

Breaking Sound [Music Video]:

3 Years Hollow (3YH) is a 6-piece band from the Quad Cities, a group of cities located along the Mississippi River in Iowa and Illinois. Jose Urquiza [vocals], Alex Frew [guitar], Neil Kuhlman [guitar], Justin Taylor [guitar], Dex Digga [bass], Alex Raser [Drums] dispense honest hard rock that’s equally hypnotic and heavy.

3YH has been on the Rockstar Uproar tour and shared the stage with the likes of Godsmack, Sevendust, Papa Roach, In This Moment, Avatar, Red, Nonpoint, Gemini Syndrome, and many others.

Over the past decade, the group has solidified itself as one of the Midwest’s most incendiary and infectious young acts. Their breakout independent single “Remember” charted at #1 on Octane, while “Chemical Ride” eclipsed 1 Million YouTube views. In 2014, 3 Years Hollow supported The Cracks (Imagen Records) with three (3) singles, all which cracked the Active Rock Top 40 chart and the Billboard Mainstream Rock Top 40 chart.

December 2021 brings new music with the single “Breaking Sound” through Imagen Records (ADA/Warner Music). It’s a song that continues the 3YH tradition of real life honesty. “The song ‘Breaking Sound’ is the most recent song we’ve written as a group and I’m definitely looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks!” adds Jose. Ultimately, 3 Years Hollow constantly keeps the listeners in mind with that honesty. “Everything I write about is a completely personal experience or something I’ve witnessed or experienced myself,” he concludes. “I want to give everybody something real.”

AS I MAY is a four-piece modern melodic metal band from Mikkeli, Finland – formed in 2016. The band combines modern elements, yet keeps focus on the heavier side of the music, and they sound like a modern-day US mixture of In Flames and Amorphis, so almost any metal fan would get a treat from listening to the music of these Finns! It’s a mature band, displaying a truly professional attitude towards the modern sound of heavy metal. The soul of the music lies within the catchy melodies and the big choruses.

The band released their debut album “Speak No Evil” in 2017, and got the attention of lots of fans and from the record label Rockshots Records, who decided to sign As I May for the release of their 2nd album “My Own Creations”, which was released in the summer of 2019. In Asia, the album was released through the label Spiritual Beast.

As I May played a wide array of local Finnish shows and were booked for a European tour, as support for the Brasilian powerhouse-metal act Semblant… and then Covid-19 reared its ugly face, postponing everything for everyone.

The tour is postponed until the spring of 2022 and in the lock-down period, As I May have spent the time, composing and recording their brand-new opus ”Karu” – a venture into more modern and direct in-your-face songs, which caused for UPRISING! Records to sign the band on a worldwide deal.

“Karu” will be released on digital, LP (red/black marble, limited to 300 units) and CD formats on March 4th, 2022, via UPRISING! Records. Pre-orders up here and here.

This Friday As I May release a new digital single off the album. “Devil Rides With Me” can be previewed and pre-saved here.

2. Breaking Myself Away
3. Rotten
4. High Octane
5. Under The Gun

THE QUILL present the official video for “Where Eagles Dare”, the first single from their upcoming album “Live, New, Borrowed, Blue” (Metalville Records – release 28.01.). The “Maiden” classic, which will also be released as a digital single this Friday, originally comes from the long out-of-print 2003 tribute album “Slave To The Power”, to which THE QUILL contributed with this track.

“Live, New, Borrowed, Blue”

Digging through old boxes you find stuff you’ve totally forgotten about – and every once in a while you find old nuggets well worth rediscovering again. And when you’ve been active as a band for a long time, you always find songs that didn’t fit into the usual album format. For the reasons we know, THE QUILL had a lot of free time last year to look through the remaining tracks to shorten the waiting time for the next studio album for the fans. “Live, New, Borrowed, Blue” contains tracks from the sessions for the last album “Earthrise” as well as some cover songs that THE QUILL recorded in the late 90s for various tribute albums that are now long out of print. As a kind of icing on the cake, there are also two live tracks from the Sweden Rock Festival 2019, as a reminder of this fantastic performance.

TRACK LISTING
Keep On Moving (Extended Version)
S.O.S. (Too Bad)
Children Of The Sun
Where Eagles Dare
Keep It Together (Live)
Mount Everest
Burning Tree
Frozen Over
Hole In My Head (Live)

WOODS OF DESOLATION Sign to Season of Mist

Season of Mist is proud to announce the signing of Australian black metal project WOODS OF DESOLATION!

Multi-instrumentalist and mastermind D. comments, “I am proud to announce that Woods of Desolation has signed with Season of Mist! It is an honour to be a part of a label host to so many influential acts, and I look forward to our collaboration together for the forthcoming album – and beyond.”

The band will be releasing a new album via Season of Mist at a later date! For a glimpse of what’s to come, listen to WOODS OF DESOLATION‘s discography via Bandcamp.

WOODS OF DESOLATION was formed by multi-instrumentalist D. in 2005 as a means for personal expression through music. Firmly built upon this ethos, a series of demo recordings garnered attention and a solid following within underground black metal circles worldwide. Continually evolving and working with different guest musicians in pursuit of new artistic territory, D. began to showcase his talent for crafting melancholic, yet at times uplifting, melodies on the debut album Toward The Depths (2008), further refining it on the Sorh EP (2009) and the influential sophomore full-length Torn Beyond Reason (2011).

In 2014, WOODS OF DESOLATION released the critically acclaimed third full-length As The Stars, receiving strong places on Decibel’s “Top 40 Albums of 2014” and Stereogum’s “50 Best Albums of 2014” list. This album saw D. further introduce a wider array of musical influences, such as post rock and shoegaze, into his unique take on black metal, becoming one of the main protagonists in what would become the burgeoning genre of post black metal. Additionally, lyrical themes were expanded beyond what had come before – nature, life, sorrow – now personally exploring the metaphysical aspects of spirituality and the afterlife.

In the intervening years that followed, D. created and worked on two new black metal projects REMETE & UNFELLED, simultaneously writing and developing material for the next WOODS OF DESOLATION full-length. In 2021, finally ready, D. teamed up with Vlad (DRUDKH, WINDSWEPT) on drums & keys to record the long-awaited follow-up to As The Stars, slated for release via Season of Mist.

This forthcoming album sees the musical palette of D. and WOODS OF DESOLATION continue to grow, exploring higher peaks, deeper depths, all the while maintaining honest artistic expression, unfettered and free – remaining ever faithful to those principles that lead the way all those years ago

Lineup:
D. – Instruments & Vocals
Vlad – Guest Drums & Keys
