Dublin, Ireland-based Pagan metal legends PRIMORDIAL today unveil their Live In New York City full-length. Recorded earlier this year at Ridgewood, New York’s TV Eye, the stunning collection spans the band’s now legendary catalog with tracks from Spirit The Earth Aflame, The Gathering Wilderness, To The Nameless Dead, Redemption At The Puritan’s Hand, Exile Amongst The Ruins, and their most recent release, How It Ends.
Comments vocalist A.A. Nemtheanga, “Live In New York City, a title that sort of speaks for itself, something every band probably wants in their discography, right? Who knows, we may not be on this mortal coil for that much longer. When might some new music be on the horizon? Who can tell? But when we heard the results of this incredibly well mixed show which captured perfectly the passion, commitment, and fury of a special night – something that doesn’t happen often – we thought, ‘what the hell, let’s put it out there.’“
Watch PRIMORDIAL‘s video of “Victory Has 1000 Fathers, Defeat Is An Orphan” from the performance:
“Victory is traditional in the true meaning of the word, traditional metal in sound but also steeped in traditional Irish music at the same time. An epic rabble rouser, a warrior’s journey, death, sacrifice, and path to the otherworlds set in some distant Celtic past…“

The Metal Voice recently spoke to former Dio Guitarist Tracy G about his time in the band writing, recording and performing the albums Strange Highways and Angry Machines.
Tracy G was asked on how Ronnie’s passing affected him even though they had not spoken since his departure in 1999
”I hadn’t talked to him for 10 years. 1999 I left. It was 2010 when I think he passed or got sick or something and I hadn’t talked to him at all. So, I wasn’t really that close to him (at the time). And when I was with him, I was his friend, but it was like a business partnership. Of course, it’s devastating and it’s a huge loss because that’s a huge talent right there. He was such a hardworking guy. On the road he never even missed a show even when he got a cold or got sick, he just sang. Maybe not the same notes he just he sang different notes that he could hit. It’s tough on a singer when they get sick. I got sick many times, but I don’t sing, you know. It’s different. But he was a working madman. Um, first one at practice, last one at practice, he cared. He cared how the guitar sounded. He cared how the snare drum sounded. Major respect to Ronnie. He was one of the greatest singers that there could be for any style of music. I mean does it get any better than that? I have been struggling my whole life till I’m like 30 years old trying to find a decent singer for me. I always needed a better singer. You know. But then I’m in a band with Ronnie James De I mean I hit the musical lotto.
Tracy Grijalva, known as Tracy G, is a guitarist best known for his time with Dio from 1993 to 1999. He left the band when Dio brought back guitarist Craig Goldy and they wanted him to switch to only Rhythm guitar.

Hailing from Rome, Italy, PAVIC is a hard rock/metal band led by guitarist and founder Marko Pavic. Fusing the powerful riffs of modern metal with the melody and soul of classic rock, PAVIC delivers music that is energetic, emotionally charged, and technically refined. The band’s mission is clear: to create uplifting and impactful songs that resonate with authenticity and power.
Formed in the mid-2000s, PAVIC quickly made an impression with their debut album Taste Some Liberty (2005), featuring vocalist Chris Catena and renowned guests like Kee Marcello (Europe), Tony Franklin (Blue Murder, Whitesnake), Vitalij Kuprij (Ring Of Fire), and Daniel Flores (Mind’s Eye). The album gained strong acclaim across Europe for its high-caliber musicianship and catchy yet heavy songwriting.
Their follow-up, Unconditioned (2008), again featuring Chris Catena on vocals, saw the band take a bold step forward. Mixed by Tobias Lindell (Europe) at Sweden’s Bohus Sound Studio and mastered by Dragan Tanaskovic (In Flames, Evergrey), the album blended classic and modern rock elements and included another guest solo by Kee Marcello.
In 2014, with the addition of dynamic vocalist Joe Calabro, PAVIC released Is War The Answer? a record that showcased a heavier, more contemporary sound. Mixed by U.S. producer Rick Beato (Shinedown, Fozzy), the album included a standout cover of Duran Duran’s “Notorious” and featured a concept music video for the single In Your Eyes, written by Dylan Dog creator Roberto Recchioni.
Over the years, PAVIC played across Italy, Holland, Switzerland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine, sharing the stage with bands such as Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil, Michael Schenker Group, and Circle II Circle among others.
In 2014, the band also played the Rock In Idro festival in Bologna, Italy, joining a massive lineup that included Iron Maiden, Alter Bridge, Black Stone Cherry, Opeth, and more.
Their work has received widespread attention in the rock and metal press, with features in Metal Hammer, Rock Hard, Rock It, and Metal Maniac. The band’s music videos, including Every Time I Die, Song For The Rain, and The Sun Has Fallen, showcase their evolving sound and visual style.
Now, PAVIC is set to return with their most ambitious work yet: Live To Thrive (2025), produced by Marko Pavic, mixed and mastered Francesco Mattei @ Underworld Studio and Hyper Focus Studio. Featuring keyboard maestro Mistheria (Bruce Dickinson, Vivaldi Metal Project), the album offers a tight blend of melody, heaviness, and emotional depth. The first single, Save You From Yourself, is accompanied by a visually striking video shot by Kinorama Studio, with more videos on the way.
Whether in the studio or on stage, PAVIC stands for quality songwriting, powerful performances, and a message of positivity and perseverance. The band’s sound continues to evolve — always rooted in heart, soul, and rock ‘n’ roll fire.

Cincinnati hard rock outfit ENMY have unleashed their latest single, a powerful rock reinterpretation of the Backstreet Boys’ timeless ballad ‘Incomplete‘.
While the original track tugged at heartstrings with its vulnerability, ENMY’s version amplifies that emotion through explosive instrumentation and lead vocalists Brady Reis’s impassioned vocal delivery. The band’s signature blend of hard rock, nu-metal, and alternative rock breathes new life into the song offering fans both nostalgia and something completely fresh. Known for their seamless fusion of soaring vocals, groove-driven guitars, and cinematic electronic textures, ENMY transforms the pop classic into a modern hard rock anthem that burns with emotion, grit, and raw intensity.
“The band had always thrown around the idea of doing a cover, but we could never agree upon a song. We were on our way back from playing a show with Josie Scott from Saliva in Arkansas and Mike’s phone was on shuffle, “Incomplete” came on. We all agreed that it could be a sick cover if we added more of our style to it, and as soon as we started working on it, it all came together quickly.” – ENMY
With the full complement of emotive songwriting, heavy guitars, brutal vocals, and progressive build up ENMY continues to build up an arsenal of emotionally resonant tracks to their already electrifying supply. ENMY brings a fresh and energetic sound to modern rock and metalcore by crafting a unique blend of soaring vocals, groove-oriented instrumental play, and electronic melodies. Their self-titled sophomore album features ten hard rock tracks, including standout singles “Survive” and “Silver Bullet.”
The currently release tracks from the album have already amassed over 7 millions streams across DSPs. With singles like the intense but with a touch of melancholy “Hourglass,” the emotionally charged anthem “Broken Man,” and the brutal, raw, and emotive “The Ledge” complete with an ominous music video directed and produced by Will Story, ENMY has proved that they are masters of fusing the essence of hard rock, alternative metal, and modern rock and capturing emotional intensity through a musical lens. Following in the footsteps of peers like Breaking Benjamin, Linkin Park, and Three Days Grace, ENMY is destined to become a staple and household name with rock & metal fans.

Acclaimed UK rock singer-songwriter Slyder Smith returns with his powerful new single “Plan To Fail”, an anthemic and deeply personal track that dives into the universal struggle of self-sabotage – the paralysis of overthinking, procrastination, and perfectionism that too often keeps dreams unrealized.
Driven by Slyder’s signature blend of hook-laden melodies, gritty guitars, and honest lyricism, “Plan To Fail”explores the darker corners of ambition; an anthemic and deeply introspective track that lays bare the tension between confidence and self-doubt, ambition and fear of failure capturing that internal battle between wanting to succeed and being afraid to even begin with a mask of confidence concealing the quiet despair. “It’s about fighting the voice in your head that tries talking you out of chasing your dreams, refusing to give in, even when it feels like the world’s writing you off. You make endless plans and convince yourself you’re preparing — but really, you’re just stalling because you’re frightened of not being good enough”says Slyder.“We all hit moments when everything’s telling us we can’t do it — this song is about the freedom that comes from admitting our flaws doing it anyway.”
‘Plan To Fail’ follows the success of the anthemic “Nobody’s Listening”, released in August, a song born of the frustration of feeling unheard, capturing the isolation of modern life. Rockfiend Blog described it as “beguiling, hypnotic, multi-layered, lush and very well produced”. “Plan To Fail” cements Slyder’s evolution from cult glam-rock guitarist to one of rock’s most authentic and emotionally resonant voices. Produced again by Robin Wynn Evans (Manic Street Preachers, The View, Sam Brown, Dodgy), “Plan To Fail” highlights Evans’ trademark edge and clarity showcasing Slyder’s gritty vocals and melodic sensibility, creating a sound that’s both timeless and fiercely modern.
The single arrives on the back of two sold-out live shows earlier this year (17th August – Forfar 10 Bar, and 25th August – Rockwich Festival, Cheshire), where Slyder once again proved why he’s a favourite among UK rock crowds. “Slyder Smith is a firm favourite at Rockwich, and it’s easy to see why… commanding the marquee with charm, skill, and energy that left the crowd buzzing.” – Jace Media (Rockwich Festival 2025)
‘Plan To Fail’ is available to stream on Spotify & all streaming platforms plus limited edition SIGNED CD collectable bundle, including 2 exclusive pre-production demo tracks of Nobody’s Listening & Plan To Fail, signed poster & lyric sheet.
In support of the release, Slyder & his band featuring Brian Kerr on bass & Adam ‘Bam Bam’ McNaughton, head out on the road for a run of live shows in the UK in November with ex-Wildhearts bass player Danny Wildheart & The UK Reprobates.
Supporting Danny Wildheart & The UK Reprobates: 21st Nov, Dragonffli, Pontypool 22nd Nov, Coopers Arms, Aberystwyth
Slyder first made his name as guitarist and backing vocalist in cult power-poppers Last Great Dreamers, a colourful glamourous four-piece who started life in London in the 1990s. After their 1994 debut Retrosexual, the Dreamers were championed by Kerrang! magazine — nominated as Best New Band in 1995 — before reforming in 2015 and releasing a string of albums alongside tours with The Quireboys, Enuff Z’nuff, The Wildhearts, The Alarm, The Boys, and Wolfsbane. In 2021, with Covid in full flow and Last Great Dreamers on hiatus, Slyder started to cook up a batch of new songs, some of them in styles that he’d little explored in public. The following spring, he decamped to Oxfordshire to record them with Pete Brown – a talented producer and studio engineer who, over a 40-year career, has worked with the likes of George Harrison, Siouxsie And The Banshees, Marc Almond and The Smiths.
The album Slyder Smith & The Oblivion Kids’ ‘Charm Offensive’ came out in August 2022, to some fanfare from the rock press. Vive Le Rock rated the record “excellent”. Powerplay lauded it as “an album which restores the fact we are still home to the world’s best songwriters”, while the reviewer from Fireworks called it “a serious contender for my album of the year”. Straight out of the gate, ‘Charm Offensive’ lived up to its title. Slyder promoted the album live with numerous festival appearances in UK & Europe plus UK tours with Electric Boys & Cherie Currie and gained worldwide airplay on BBC Radio 2 Rock Show, Planet Rock Radio, BBC Introducing, Radio Caroline & many more.
Since relocating from Somerset to rural Scotland in 2023, Slyder has set about proving that he has what it takes to cross borders figuratively as well as literally. Writing & demoing material in his home studio, Slyder has so far recorded a batch of songs with producer Robin Wynn Evans at TPot Studio, Perthshire, to be released in the coming months culminating in an album release in 2026.

About ALCATRAZZ: Alcatrazz, formed in 1983 in Los Angeles, has been as well known for the legendary players and singers who have passed throughout the bands ranks as much as they have for their music.
Formed originally by the trio of Jimmy Waldo, Gary Shea (both fresh from late 70’s hitmakers New England and the short lived band Warrior featuring a pre-Kiss Vinnie Vincent) along with vocalist Graham Bonnet (himself with impressive credentials having been a then recent member of Rainbow and the Michael Schenker Group) the band set about completing the line up with drummer Jan Uvena (formerly of Alice Cooper) and a then very young Yngwie Malmsteen, a guitarist who had quickly made a name for himself upon arriving in the USA in the early 80s. The band issued their now classic debut “No Parole From Rock N Roll” album (1983) which was met with universal critical acclaim. Yngwie was soon to depart in favor of Steve Vai just in time for the bands second album “Disturbing The Peace” (1985).
The bands mission has always been a not necessarily stable line-up, but of an evolving union of established performers all forming a “supergroup” of sorts, one with perhaps more guitar fire-power than many, but definitely also with the songs to back it up.
Vocalist Doogie White (himself also formerly of Rainbow and Michael Schenker) served a successful two album stint with the band, while the “shred-lord” himself…the acclaimed Joe Stump (also a very established solo artist and a Berklee college professor) has now been the bands longest serving guitarist, with this year now making his 6th continuing year as a member of the band.
Longtime Graham Bonnet and Alcatrazz collaborator, producer, songwriter and vocalist Giles Lavery is now the man behind the microphone, having proved he was an inspired choice on two recent U.S. tours — having worked with the band in numerous other creative capacities since 2017 the band feel it was a logical move, but also one chosen on merit. Giles can be heard on the recent BraveWords Records release, Jack Starr’s “Out Of The Darkness Part II” as well as his studio and live work with U.S. metal legends Warlord, a band who feature non-other than Mark Zonder on drums…himself a former member of the Graham Bonnet Band, Fates Warning, and worth noting here… as he is also currently leading the band A-Z who feature none other than Alcatrazz main man keyboardist Jimmy Waldo! confused yet? don’t be, as all of this proves that there is a firm but perhaps overlooked consistency and lineage to what on the surface may seem like an ever evolving band personnel.
Indeed Jimmy Waldo continues to be the heart and soul of Alcatrazz… as aside from being the bands talented keyboardist, he has been the one who would, over the bands career find himself at the centre of all band affairs and decision making, from booking the band in the early days, working closely with the bands various record labels, to making sure other members, at the height of 1980s rock n roll decadence were present and accounted for when it came time to get the work done…”i think i even drove the tour bus once or twice back then” says Waldo… in fact it was Jimmy himself who personally selected Steve Vai out of a number of other contenders for the guitarist position in 1984 when Yngwie Malmsteen chose to move on to his own distinguished solo career.. “alot of people have come and gone over the years” says Jimmy… “It’s kept it fresh and we are hardly the only band like that, we still have myself and Gary still holding down the frontline from that early era” Chris Impellitteri historically was one such player in line for the job, who may not have made it into the bands ranks back in 1984, but who in 2020 finally recorded with the band as a special guest on the successful “Born Innocent” album (co-produced by Giles and Jimmy).
Bassist Gary Shea, he who named the band and designed the bands logo no less… came up with the above-mentioned iconic album titles (lets also not forget “Live Sentence”) as noted above, has been flying the Alcatrazz flag with Jimmy for over 4 decades now and is looking forward to this next phase. Gary’s recently published book “No Bass, No Party” is also an essential read for those wanting to delve deeper into the Alcatrazz story!
