From the ashes of Crown, rises a dark new wave of industrial rock. As Your Inland Empire, the duo of Stéphane Azam and David Husser take the heavy electronics that they first donned on Crown’s last album a step further into dark industrial rock, where vulnerability and violence converge in a single breath.

Your Inland Empire’s self-titled debut album is released today, Friday, November 14, and you can hear all 11 glistening tracks by listening the full album stream on the Season of Mist YouTube channel.

In 2021, Crown’s The End of All Things revealed a striking metamorphosis. The album shifted Azam and Husser away from their sludge-laden origins into a cinematic fusion of industrial rock, post-metal atmosphere and darkwave sensibility. Its balance of bleakness and accessibility was praised for expanding Crown’s sonic vocabulary, yet the record ultimately stood as both culmination and chrysalis: the closing of one chapter and the quiet emergence of another.

That emergence is now complete. Your Inland Empire opens a new frontier on their self-titled debut album. “I’m falling apart / In the void of my heart”, Azam confesses on “Grinding” through gritted teeth, as he drifts through a haze of electro-shocked guitars. Written during an intense period marked by upheaval and illness, these 11 tracks are a journey through a dark night of the soul, descending into personal collapse only to reach a creative rebirth. A direct descendant of Godflesh and Nine Inch Nails, most recent single “Edge of Perfection” walks the tight rope between overwhelming pain and total control.

“There is no you, there is no me, just another ghost enjoying the dark”, the chorus of lead single “There Is No Me” echoes, surrounded by a flickering electronic beat that draws us deeper into the shadows.

“We’ve been through a lot with this album”, Azam says. “It’s introspective and very emotional, with a lot of spleen. The songs move between dark pop and very aggressive, heavy songs, light and shadow, at the same time”.

Tracklist:

  1. Scars (3:25)
  2. There Is No Me (3:52) [WATCH]
  3. Grinding (3:54) [WATCH]
  4. Edge of Perfection (5:06) [LISTEN]
  5. Silver Knife (4:50)
  6. Undone (3:43)
  7. Venom (4:28)
  8. Sulfur (5:22)
  9. Chemicals (4:40)
  10. Myself Destruct (3:55)
  11. I’ll Be Your Night (4:49)
    Full runtime: 48:11

YOUR INLAND EMPIRE are the renegade torchbearers who forged their legacy as Crown. Ready to ink a new chapter under Season of Mist – a voyage from legacy to evolution, an eternal metamorphosis. Baptized in the crucible of raw sound and industrial angst, Your Inland Empire transmutes the heritage into a daring quest beyond sonic realms once deemed unconquerable.

‘The End of All Things’, Crown’s last album under the moniker was an unexpected twist of what the band is capable of. Dark and moody, bleak and sublime, airy and crushing, mesmerizing and engrossing, bold yet unerring, danceable and suffocating – it was all of this at the same time. Fragile hook lines dancing above the bleak abyss they so magnificently assembled.

From the mechanized heart of Crown, Stéphane Azam and David Husser incubated a revolution, their vision crystallizing amidst rippling waves of eight-string guitars and a digital pulse – the lifeblood of their emerging beast. What began as Azam’s vision, a coalition with Zatokrev’s Frederyk Rotter, evolved with Husser’s induction – a synthesis of production prowess and visionary audacity that propelled Crown’s ‘Natron’ into uncharted territories.

Stéphane recounts, the steel in his voice betraying a relentless surge of creativity and rebellion. Crown was but the cocoon, a chrysalis composed of binary beats and distorted riffs from where Your Inland Empire would emerge, unfurling wings inked with passion and driven by the relentless heartbeats of bass drums galvanizing a new dawn.

It is no surprise that David Husser, one half of Your Inland Empire has a vast selection of experience under his belt. Working as a studio engineer, producer and musician across the globe with class acts such as Alan Wilder of Depeche Mode or Genesis’ original lead singer Peter Gabriel – David brought all that experience to meticulously construct a unique sonic palette. With industrial-drone collective Y Front, who in the 90s toured with Rammstein, Husser gathered the live experience needed to hone his craft to absolute perfection.

Paul Kendall (Mute Records, Nine Inch Nails, Nick Cave), an industry-titan who closely worked with David, explained: “a distorting diamond… we have collaborated on several projects, and I have been amazed by his ability to teach an old dog new tricks. He is simply the best recording engineer I have ever met.”

Stéphane Azam, Your Inland Empire’s other half, is its founding father all the way back in its Crown days. Having worked as live sound engineer for French blackgaze pioneers Alcest and the legendary black metal artist Abbath, Azam brings to Your Inland Empire another side of the music spectrum. With a wide ability to deliver both the most soothing vocals and bottomless shrieks, Azam is the perfect complement to Husser’s dark and brooding soundscapes. The two have been working together for years, and their chemistry is palpable on Your Inland Empire’s debut album.

Creatively, Azam composes every step of the way – crafting songs with a meticulous fury. From structure to guitar licks, basslines to vocal passages – Azam has a vision, and Your Inland Empire is his outlet. Being not only the producer & engineer, Husser crafts Azam’s wildest ideas into refined sonic textures. Together, they’ve crafted the perfect recipe of pure auditory experimentation, intricate songwriting, emotive lyricism and astonishing artistry – constantly pushing boundaries in a multitude of musical styles.

With David Husser (Guitars, Programming, Production) in command of the studio’s helm, and Stéphane Azam (Vocals, Guitars, Composition) orchestrating the chaos into harmony, flanked by Nicolas Uhlen’s (Drums) rhythmic prowess and Marc Strebler’s (Bass) stringed sorcery, the empire is poised for its coronation.

The alchemy of Your Inland Empire is not unlike the world’s relentless cycle – at once introspective yet ever looking outward, “It might be a bit more introspective and then it’s more about internal conflicts…”. This duality breathes life into their music, “The tracks are quite bright, nonetheless, even though the lyrics are really very dark.” It’s introspective – the shadow of our human instincts, our constant inner struggles. An album that is equally as personal for Azam as it is relatable.

A forecast for their impending album resonates with the echoes of an empire’s intimate fears and tenebrous hopes. The intricate fabric of Your Inland Empire waivers, promising a symphony drenched in the sweat of toil and the tears of artistic triumph. The orchestra of creation bellows, addressing the collective’s core, intricately showcasing their unique craftsmanship and unyielding drive.

BLACK STONE CHERRY Toast to Small Victories with Single + Music Video for New Track ‘Celebrate’

Kentucky’s finest, BLACK STONE CHERRY, will release their brand-new EP, Celebrate, which will be digitally available on 6th March 2026 via Mascot Records. Following the recent release of lead single ‘Neon Eyes’, they have now dropped a new single and music video for the EP’s title track, ‘Celebrate‘.

BLACK STONE CHERRY are a band in the truest sense of the term. Hard rockers of enormous heart. Four accomplished songwriters with rock, metal, roots, blues and soul in their blood. Old friends with an instinctive, compassionate sense for what each other is feeling.

Stream ‘Celebrate’ HERE.
Watch ‘Celebrate’ HERE.
Buy/pre-save Celebrate HERE.

On the new single and its accompanying music video, the band share:
“We had so much fun coming up with the concept for the ‘Celebrate’ video! We got on a phone call with director Kyle Loftus and we all hashed out ideas until we landed on something that got us all excited! We wanted the video to show what it’s like to be stuck in something, whether that be a boring job or maybe stuck in your own head, and how any little opportunity can lead to a small victory! The song itself is about celebrating every little thing in life, even if it’s just making it through the day. The video came out amazing with an amazing actor/musician, Aaron Paulsen as the lead and we get chills every time we watch it! The confetti at the end was one of our main requests as we wanted to visually show what it mentally feels like to celebrate inside your mind!”

Produced by the band themselves, Celebrate is an EP of contrasts. From a dreamily woozy, Nirvana-laced grunge singalong (‘I’m Fine’), to personal heartache (‘Deep’) and a curveball cover of Simple Minds classic ‘Don’t You (Forget About Me)’, featuring guest vocals from old Black Stone friend Tyler Connolly (Theory Of A Deadman).

BLACK STONE CHERRY are masters of taking a somber subject and flipping it on its head, creating punchy and empowering rock songs. “Any piece of art is a snapshot of that artist’s life,” singer/guitarist Chris Robertson reasons. “So I look at these songs on the EP as a culmination of everything we’ve lived since Screamin’ At The Sky.”

They’ll play to thousands in an arena or festival field, followed by a 100-capacity pub, and put on the exact same show. This is why they connect with audiences. They write music that makes you feel something. No polish, no faking it, just moments that matter. You can see that channelled throughout the record.

They will be touring the USA through November and December with Them Dirty Roses and Ayron Jones, and keep your eyes peeled for wider international touring announcements.

Track Listing

1. Celebrate
2. Neon Eyes
3. Caught Up In The Up Down
4. I’m Fine
5. Deep
6. What You’re Made Of
7. Don’t You (Forget About Me) ft. Tyler Connolly of Theory of a Deadman

DIEVERSITY Release First Single + Video ‘Gears Of Society’ from Upcoming Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on November 14, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: DIEVERSITY. Leave a comment

DIEVERSITY are releasing the first single from their new album “IV,” which will be released on January 16, 2026.

While the album cover was created by proven specialists Björn Gooßes (Killustrations), the video “Gears Of Society” was produced almost entirely in-house. The ambitious Franconians want to send a message with their first single: “We’re back” – more modern and more determined than ever!

The album will be released on CD and colored vinyl (gatefold cover)! Pre-sales are already underway: dieversity.epr.rocks

Digital: save-it.cc/epr/gears-of-society or directly on Spotify

Who is DIEVERSITY?
Franconia is known not only for its beers, wines, and sense of humor, but also for its outstanding heavy metal bands. One of these bands is DIEVERSITY from Würzburg. Founded over a decade ago, they forged a modern metal sound that delivers explosive power and is bursting with melody. The band name is no coincidence – diversity is the guiding principle for these creative musicians. DIEVERSITY made a strong impression with their debut album Last Day Tomorrow  and showed that modern metal doesn’t just have to come from Scandinavia. – even though Swedish influences have always played a role, as shown by the guest appearance of Björn “Speed” Strid (SOILWORK) on their follow-up album ReAwakening. A new chapter was written with the album Age Of Ignorance.   Now it’s time to turn the page again. In 2025, DIEVERSITY presents itself with a new lineup – both musically and personally refreshed. Their sound has undergone a striking transformation, shaped by modern genre heavyweights like Architects, Monuments, and Wage War. Heavier, more technical, more progressive – and yet still unmistakably DIEVERSITY.  This evolution culminates in the upcoming fourth studio album: IV, set for release in  January 2026. A statement. A new beginning. A band that doesn’t reinvent itself – but evolves. Consistently, uncompromisingly, and in tune with the times. DIEVERSITY 2025: modern metal from Franconia – as sharp-edged as ever, but with a new blade.

Tracklist:
01 – IV
02 – Piece Of Mind
03 – Blame Me
04 – Animal
05 – Gears Of Society
06 – Tyrant
07 – Trees Of Yesterday
08 – Short Fuse
09 – Free
10 – The Hunt

Biography:
The story of DIEVERSITY begins in 2010. Olav Langer and Daniel Heß founded the band, and shortly afterward, Chris Walther, Michael Steger, and drummer Dominik Waldorf joined the lineup. The musical concept was clear from the start – modern, melodic, yet aggressive metal with socially critical lyrics. In 2012, the band successfully released their debut album Last Day Tomorrow, with the title track even reaching #1 in the metal charts. Their second album ReAwakening followed in 2015. Two professionally produced videos were released for the songs Stop War Inferno and In Your Dreams. Numerous festival appearances (including Christmas Bash, Bonebreaker, and Metal Franconia) and club shows across Germany reflect the band’s growing popularity. Over the years, DIEVERSITY has shared the stage with acts such as ORDEN OGAN, DEW SCENTED, BLIND GUARDIAN, HÄMATOM, ICED EARTH, and HOLY MOSES – proof of the stylistic range that the Franconians bring to the table. Lineup: At the end of 2021, the third album Age Of Ignorance was released. High-quality music videos accompanied the singles End Of The Line, The Bitter Taste Of Sin, and Clouds Of Misery. The current lineup is completed by vocalist Robin Mattner. Recently, Max Sommerlad has joined as the new bassist. While the band has decided to move forward without a permanent keyboard player, they will continue to incorporate modern sounds and electronic elements – synthesizers and programmed arrangements remain an essential part of their style. With their upcoming fourth studio album IV, scheduled for release in early 2026, DIEVERSITY is set to write the next chapters of their band history.

MALUM Sign with Dark Essence Records, New Full-Length Album Out in Spring 2026

Dark Essence Records has welcomed Norwegian Black Metal band MALUM to their roster, and is ready to release the band’s second full-length album in the spring of 2026.

The Oslo-based band is known for their fierce, uncompromising and dark black metal. Malum was formed in 2020 and has since released two EPs, one full-length and performed at festivals and venues like Inferno, Unholy Congregation IV, Sort Messe, John Dee, Hulen and Tribute.

Malum rose from the ashes as a brand new entity in the Norwegian underground scene. Their prime directive is raw, atmospheric and melodic black metal — with a sound rooted in the bleak traditions of the second wave of black metal, and shaped by modern existentialism and nihilism. Malum delivers music that is both oppressive and cathartic, and has carved a path through Norway’s underground with raw intensity and philosophical depth.

Commenting on their upcoming collaboration with Dark Essence Records, the band had this to say:
No light. Only void.
The time has come to announce that Malum has signed with Dark Essence Records.

This marks the beginning of a new chapter — not of hope, but of persistence, forged through shared vision and unwavering dedication to our craft.
Our deepest gratitude goes to the label for embracing the void with us, and to all who continue to support us through the darkness.

The entity that consists of A.A, M.F, A.G and E.T.S is about to release a bleak opus upon the world.

Malum is not merely a band — it is a confrontation. With the self. With silence. With nothingness.

THE OCEAN Present Visualizer Single ‘Even Deeper’ from Tribute Album “Best of Nine Inch Nails Redux”

Posted by tarjavirmakari on November 14, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: The Ocean. Leave a comment

Leave it to the Germans, in this instance Berlin’s THE OCEAN, to keep the eerie darkness but add a layer of labyrinthian musical complexity to their tribute in the shape of the NIN track ‘Even Deeper‘. Their fascinating homage is the third single from the companion album “Best of Nine Inch Nails Redux” that will be released parallel to the forthcoming MER Redux Series installment “The Downward Spiral Redux”.

Both tribute albums have been scheduled for release on November 28, 2025 and are available for pre-order HERE

The official visualiser for THE OCEAN‘s intricate version of the NINE INCH NAILS classic ‘Even Deeper‘ is now available to watch below.

THE OCEAN comment on ‘Even Deeper’: “When Nine Inch Nails released the double-album ”The Fragile’  in 1999, it was an eye-opening record for Loïc and me in many ways“, guitarist Robin Staps writes, mentioning their former vocalist Loïc Rossetti with whom the band recorded this tribute: “The sheer scope of this album, the production marrying fat electronics with broken, organic, and acoustic elements that are intentionally slightly out of tune – no one else had done it like that before. Initially, we wanted to cover ‘The Great Below’, but someone had already picked that track, which made ‘Even Deeper’ our second choice. In hindsight, we were lucky with that. It is the perfect track for us and I like to think that we managed to make it ours, while honouring the original. Special thanks go out to Simen from Spurv and Orestis from Playgrounded for contributing trombone and synths. This is also a farewell, big thank you, and send-off to Loïc, as it was the final track that we recorded with him on vocals!“

THE OCEAN, also known as THE OCEAN COLLECTIVE, are a fascinating musical beast. Partly for lack of a more suitable and also commonly understood category, the band is often labelled as post-metal yet also contains progressive elements, classical instrumentation, and sludge among many other stylistic influences. Whatever label is attached to them, they have always remained as a unique yet recognisable musical entity despite cycling through many phases and experiments. THE OCEAN came into existence when composer and guitarist Robin Staps moved to Berlin at the end of the year 2000. Gathering a first line-up, the band moved into the cellar of an old aluminium factory from the second world war. The resulting rehearsal, studio, and living space was named Oceanland and all their albums until 2007 were recorded there. Robin Staps has remained at the core of THE OCEAN as the band has experienced a continuous change of line-up with a plethora of amazing musicians contributing to or leaving their personal mark on the band either as members or guests. As expected, this has lead to a richly diverse discography of which, among many other releases, the acclaimed tenth full-length “Holocene” (2023) is their latest.

Tracklist “Best of Nine Inch Nails Redux”

  1. SNAKEMOTHER ‘The Day the World Went Away / Sin’
  2. BLUE HERON ‘Head Like a Hole’
  3. GRAYCON ‘Right Where It Belongs’
  4. THE OCEAN ‘Even Deeper’
  5. EVI VINE ‘This Isn’t the Place’
  6. NONEXISTENT NIGHT ‘The Perfect Drug’
  7. THE MOTH GATHERER ‘The Hand That Feeds’
  8. CHROME GHOST ‘Every Day Is Exactly the Same’
  9. MARISSA NADLER ‘The Great Below’
  10. BEES MADE HONEY IN THE VEIN TREE ‘Over & Out’
  11. THOU ‘Suck’
  12. ORBITER ‘Terrible Lie’
  13. BLEAKHEART ‘Something I Could Never Have’

Enhance your Redux experience of Magnetic Eye Records and friends, who are respectfully paying homage to US-industrial rock legends NINE INCH NAILS and their 1994 milestone album “The Downward Spiral”, with the additional of even more spectacular deep cuts and classics offered on the companion album “Best of Nine Inch Nails Redux”.

At this moment, the world’s reliance on machines, algorithms, and artificial intelligence has never been greater. This makes now the perfect time to reflect on the emergence of a musical force whose blend of mechanized instrumentation and raw emotion was singular and revolutionary.

NINE INCH NAILS were formed in Cleveland, Ohio in 1988. They arrived around the same time as grunge when Generation X was developing an awareness of itself, but while there was cross-appeal, the sound they created was clearly and intentionally something very different.

The skepticism of that era came through in the music, with artists from RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE to NIRVANA pushing back against what were acceptable words and actions in our society, and everything from the ideals of what major musicians should do with their fame to what people and corporations stood for were fair targets.

NINE INCH NAILS were at least twice as cynical as everyone else and reflected the singular, driven musical expression of mastermind Trent Reznor. The music he made as NIN has always ranged from infectious, furious, delicate, and sexual to transgressive, uplifting, cautionary, and hopeless. While Reznor did not always make broad, blunt statements about politics, materialism or repression (though he definitely did at times), there was a consistently restless quality to his music. His frustration at the veneer of normalcy and acceptability that characterized modern popular music was palpable, and he seemed to search endlessly for seams to peel back and rip loose to expose what was underneath.

Of NINE INCH NAILS‘ seminal breakthrough album, Spin magazine respectfully had this to say in 2024: “As The Downward Spiral turns 30 this year, it still stands as an act of artistic transgression against the limits of popular music. Pushing the boundaries of creative censorship, it is still considered Nine Inch Nails’ most daring and uncompromising album.”

Join us in paying homage to one of rock’s most ambitious innovators and angriest Gen X voices railing against the status quo, as we present our latest Redux Series installment “The Downward Spiral Redux”, along with the traditional companion album “Best of Nine Inch Nails Redux”. The two double album collections together comprise 27 re-imagined renditions by some of today’s coolest and heaviest artists taking on NINE INCH NAILS classics and deep cuts.

The Magnetic Eye Redux Series features hand-picked classic albums from across the history of rock and metal re-imagined in their entirety from start to finish. Artists we love from within and outside the heavy rock landscape choose tracks to make their own, bringing these milestone records into the new millennium with crushing heaviness and searing energy. To date, we’ve produced Redux editions of PINK FLOYD’s “The Wall”, HELMET’s “Meantime”, BLACK SABBATH’s “Vol. 4”, JIMI HENDRIX’s “Electric Ladyland”, ALICE IN CHAINS’ “Dirt”, AC/DC’s “Back in Black”, SOUNDGARDEN’s “Superunknown”, JETHRO TULL’s “Aqualung”, and RAMONES’ self-titled debut, which have included artists like RED FANG, THE SWORD, MATT PIKE, PALLBEARER, THE MELVINS, ALL THEM WITCHES, KHEMMIS, ASG, SUPERSUCKERS, ZAKK WYLDE, MARK LANEGAN, VOIVOD, and many more amazing artists.

Join us for our tenth foray into Redux territory as we pay proper respect to the US industrial rock legends NINE INCH NAILS!
