CRASHDÏET are one of the biggest names in the glam metal/sleaze rock scene and the band recently signed to global rock powerhouse label Golden Robot Records.
CRASHDÏET are back in the studio working on their 6th studio album, due out early 2022 and have delivered a taste of what’s to come with their new single ‘No Man’s Land’ which is out now on all digital platforms. ‘No Man’s Land’ is also accompanied by a killer video clip.
‘No Man’s Land’ is the first single from CRASHDÏET’s new studio album, which will be their first since 2019’s Rust. The single is sung with powerful and precise vocals, surrounded by thick driving bass, heavy guitar chops, rock-solid drums and scintillating production. ‘No Man’s Land’ is a story about looking inwards and moving forward, no matter the cost. ‘No Man’s Land’ sees the band on top of their game and once again proving Sweden as a world leader in this genre.
Back in January 2020, SCHIZOPHRENIA came out of nowhere with their self-released debut EP “Voices” to hit the Extreme Metal underground like a bomb. With a relentless cocktail of high-adrenaline Death Metal and groovy mid-tempo elements, the band took the heavy scene by storm and soon became known for their distinctively heavy yet dynamic sound, bursting with detail and intensity.
Today, the four-piece from Antwerp, Belgium, revealed the first details of their highly anticipated debut studio album “Recollections Of The Insane“, which will see the light of day on February 17th, 2022. With nine brand new tracks spanning over 43 minutes, the band’s upcoming record picks up where “Voices” left off, with going even further in every aspect, sometimes even flirting with some melodic Death/Black Metal influences! Morbid Angel, Demolition Hammer, Slayer, early Sepultura, Dissection, Death, At The Gates, Obituary, Bolt Thrower, Pestilence…if any of these bands already gets you going, then imagine a blend of all of them combined with SCHIZOPHRENIA’s unique and fresh interpretation of Extreme Metal!
Despite various offers from worldwide record labels, the band has once again decided to release the album on their own and fully DIY, as it currently feels like the right way to go, and in order to present the most authentic version of themselves.
To shorten your wait for “Recollections Of The Insane“, SCHIZOPHRENIA just released a first and intense album single, one that will most likely leave you with a hunger for more! Watch the brand new video clip for “Cranial Disintegration” here:
Ricky Mandozzi (vocals, bass) on “Cranial Disintegration”: “This is by far my favorite song of the album. It shows the evolution of Schizophrenia’s songwriting with a mix of melody and brutality topped with some gory lyrics. Cranial Disintegration was a lot of fun to write and record and I’m looking forward to performing it in front of our fans. I hope they will enjoy the song as much as we did writing it.” Lorenzo Vissol (drums) on the album:”This album is the result of a very intense work in which each of us has explored his own musicality. After our debut EP we felt that we still had much to say and much to express. We also felt that we had evolved musically both as a band, forming a solid unit, and as individual musicians. When starting the composition process, we wanted to express exactly that and I think ‘Recollections of the Insane’ succeeded in doing so. Each one of us has pushed himself to the fullest and beyond in order to put his own personality into each song, but also in order to make each track of this album unique. The result is a complete collective effort in which each song lives for its own while still creating a whole. In my opinion this is what will make the strength of this album and define it.
We wanted our music to be more extreme and aggressive but, more importantly, we also wanted to add more depth to it. We didn’t want the music to be aggressive just for the sake of it, it needed to tell stories in which the listener would be carried from start to finish. Those would be stories of insane minds! Overall the composition is more complex, the melodies are more developed and tempos are faster. We introduced blast beats and some more melodic moments. However, while the music is more intense and relentless it is also more eerie and dynamic.
We hope listeners will appreciate ‘Recollection of the Insane’ as much as we enjoyed diving into its composition and we certainly can’t wait to hit the stage with our new material“

December 3rd will see the release of “Geist und Hexerei”, the debut full-length album by Swiss Black Metal duo ERNTE! Inspired by ancient spirits, as well as cold and barren landscapes, the band’s upcoming record features eight relentless tracks of True Hellvetic Black Metal with an undeniable preference for Nordic melodies. In support of the new album, the band just shared a brand new video clip for the haunting track “The Ending Void”.
Being well aware of how to invade the darker side of your soul, the two members of ERNTE are by far no strangers to the scene. After almost 20 years of creating dark ambient music, photography, painting and graphic art, V. Noir decided that it was time to return to the roots: In 2020 his long-time passion for Black Metal found a form of expression in ERNTE, where he is the main songwriter, guitar player and responsible for recording and programming. In Witch N. (vocals, bass, violin) he found an appropriate and experienced co-musician, who played bass and violin in the all-girl Doom Band shEver (2003 – 2012, Svart Records / TotalRust Music) before she started as front woman in the Swiss Black/Doom Band Ashtar (since 2013, Eisenwald, Throne Records).
Recorded and mixed by V. Noir between October 2020 and February 2021 and mastered by Greg Chandler (Priory Recording Studios, UK), “Geist und Hexerei” will be coming out December 3rd via Vendetta Records and is now available for pre-order here:
Greek/Swedish melodic death metal stars NIGHTRAGE return with their latest creatin ‘Abyss Rising’. The final part in the trilogy of albums (starting with 2017’s ‘The Venomous’ continuing with 2019’s ‘Wolf to Man’), ‘Abyss Rising’ is Nightrage’s vision where man has finally reached their own hell on Earth. Inspired in part by Dante’s ‘Inferno’, the album explores man’s continual destruction of the world we live in until the abyss opens up to consume all before it. The artwork for the album (created by the phenomenal Jon Tousas) features seven arrows that represent the seven deadly sins, seen killing the three birds of innocence, highlighting the downfall of humankind. Musically the band have embraced a harder, faster, and brutal approach, still rich in melodic intent but characteristically heavy and aggressive. Mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordstrom at Studio Fredman (Architects, In Flames, Opeth, etc.) ‘Abyss Rising’ is a formidable sonic masterpiece. The album will be released 18th of February 2022.
Nightrage have released their third single called ‘Nauseating Oblivion‘ from the upcoming album ‘Abyss Rising’. This songportraitsthe album very well with the dark riffs and sharpness.
About the new single: Nauseating Oblivion is a different kind of song that I and Magnus composed and has darker riffs, and ominous and eerie atmosphere. Love the fact that even if we have different ideas, we always manage to make them fit for the signature style of the band without losing our songwriting identity. We love dynamics and the riffs on the song are very sharp and melodic, plus the clean vocal break in the middle of the song, brings some Pink Floyd vibes. Ronnie’s lyrics is about how we humans have destroyed not only our planet but also now is killing our own civilization. All we humans are smart enough to know this but instead of engollaging that fact and try to do anything about it, we instead put our heads in the sand ignoring it all. We let us all slip in to the sweet carefree state of oblivion at the same time as our world is falling apart around us. We reap the fruits of our own betrayal!! // Marios
To me, Nauseating Oblivion truly embraces what the album concept wants to portray, a wasteland, the present landscape of something that was… Something sweet that only lives in you memory to torment your soul everytime you think about what’s lost, unable to escape that feeling, like the itch caused on severed limb… It’s a song that has a dark and agressive feeling that is dangerous and genuine. It takes you to a place where you can release all your anger and frustration but at the same time traps you in a soft passage that reminds you how insignificant we are… Just simple note in an endless melody… I love the dynamics and how the second half of the song changes completely into a more proggy ascending guitar riffs with lots of metallic sounding drums, beautiful guitar melodies and bass arpegios… This song has everything I want in a metal track… it’s the Answer to a question that you didn’t know existed but now you’re unable to ignore. // Franco
Mascot Records once again have dug deep into their sack and are thrilled to reveal their new seasonal ‘CHRISTMAS ROCKS, Vol.2’ E.P. We’ve already found last year’s unused bottle of brandy, that heavy metal Christmas sweater and dusted off the box of tinsel, so we’re locked in and ready to go. Throughout November and the beginning of December, expect some festive frivolities by powerhouse vocalist Beth Hart, Indiana duo The Cold Stares, your new favourite Southern rockers The Georgia Thunderbolts, guitar-wizard Paul Gilbert, and Maryland rockers Any Given Sin.
‘CHRISTMAS ROCKS, Vol.2’ will be digitally available in full for all your Christmas party needs from 3rd December.
Listen to The Cold Stares “Santa Looked A Lot Like Daddy” here:
The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Beth Hart reinterprets “Angels from the Realms of Glory,” the traditional Christmas Carol written by Scottish poet James Montgomery. The song is featured in the new Netflix film, A Castle For Christmas, starring Brooke Shields and Cary Elwes. “I really loved doing this Christmas song. It’s one I’ve always loved,” Hart says. “It was really fulfilling and fun. I saw bits and pieces of the movie and one particular scene that the song is in, and it’s just beautiful.
The Cold Stares take their own spin on a country icon on “Santa Looked A Lot Like Daddy.” “We took the opportunity to play something on the Christmas album that no one would expect. I always loved Buck Owens and the song from when I was a kid and thought, what would our version sound like on some cassette in a truck stop in the ’90s?” says Chris Tapp.
New Maryland rockers Any Given Sin are already muscling out the big guns on the Active Rock charts in the U.S. hitting #1 on SiriusXM Octane and they took on the challenge to write an original song, “Nothing For Christmas,” and embraced the opportunity with bells on it. “[vocalist] Vic came up with the idea and sent it to the team, and we all liked it, so we built on it from there. In 5 days, the song went from the infancy stage to mastered. Our hopes are that it will be a holiday favourite for years to come,” they say.
Fresh from the release of their debut album, Can We Get A Witness this fall, new Southern rock heroes The Georgia Thunderbolts bring the eggnog party with a cover of the classic “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree.” “We’re bringing classic nostalgia back for those who may have forgotten the song or never heard it. We feel that Christmas is a very special time for people. We wanted to put our spin on a Christmas classic to show that you can have the holiday spirit all year round. Rain or shine, it’s always Christmas time with The Georgia Thunderbolts!” the band say.
Why not set yourself a wrap-challenge by wrapping your Christmas gifts to the rhythm and speed of Paul Gilbert’s instrumental joy of “We Wish You A Merry Christmas”?
One particular Christmas was particularly significant to an eleven-year-old, Gilbert. “I had been banging away on a Stella acoustic guitar for a couple of years,” he says. “I didn’t know how to tune the guitar, so I solved the problem by only playing the low E string,” he adds.
“Despite my limitations, I had developed some authority on that one string. But then my uncle came to visit and took a look in my local newspaper, in the “Musical Instruments For Sale” section. He quickly spotted a used Gibson. I had saved up some money from selling ceramic hippopotamus banks that I made in my dad’s pottery studio and from mowing the lawn. The guitar in the ad was still twice the price that I could afford,” he remembers.
“But CHRISTMAS was coming, so I asked my parents about getting the guitar. They said they could pay the other half but would tighten their budget, so I wouldn’t be getting any toys. I chose the guitar.”
You’ll sing, you’ll tie yourself in Christmas-wrapping sellotape knots, you’ll throw your air-guitar around your waist and look in the mirror as your eyes and teeth sparkle catching it!
Venture onwards, you’re now ready for a rock ‘n’ roll Christmas.
