Indian groove death thrashers SYSTEMHOUSE33 are sharing their latest playthrough video for the track “Lake of Sorrow” from their latest album “End of Days” released in 2019. This first video is from a series of three the band will be releasing in the coming months in lead up to their two-month 2022 European tour supporting Nervosa and Warbringer across eighteen countries that will begin in Hamburg, Germany on February 17th. The European tour will be Systemhouse33′s first in two years since supporting Soulfly for its USA tour in March 2020.

Frontman Samron Jude adds about the video:

“Lake of Sorrow” reflects the last 2 years where the whole world has suffered greatly due to the pandemic. We all decided to get together (myself, Gilroy Fernandes on guitars, Vignesh on guitars) along with friends, drummer Matyas Geroly in Hungary and bassist Maria Kosma in the UK to jam online and the turnout was awesome. Even though we all can’t get together at one place, the point is that music still brings us all together, irrespective of boundaries.”

SystemHouse33 is a groove, death-thrash metal band from Bombay, India.

With a vision of overturning the broken system of depravity, apathy and oppression in society, the seeds of a responsible & empathetic system need to be sown within your mind, your house, and once these notions take root and grow, can there be hope for a system that doesn’t let the masses down. This realization led to the birth of a heavy metal band in a small town of India founded by Samron Jude – SystemHouse33. The aim for the band has been to disseminate the necessity to create an unwavering system of change as laid out in their tracks “Lift This Plague” (highlighting the atrocities faced by women in India), “Detestable Idolatry” (the hypocrisy of religiosity), “Let’s Stand Up” (rise up and speak up for your rights), “Cry of Anguish” (the unseen struggle with one’s mental health) among others.

In the past 5 years since SystemHouse33 ventured into the global metal touring market, the band has been bringing Indian heavy metal to the forefront with successful tours in Europe (supporting Six Feet Under, Orphaned Land) and North America (supporting Soulfly, Dying Fetus, The Acacia Strain, Toxic Holocaust).

The band’s uniquely brutal style of music has enabled them to gradually carve their place in the world of metal with their albums “Regression” (2016) and “End Of Days” (2019); and with a new album in the works for 2022, expect a lot more in store.

EARTHSIDE have released a drum duel of ‘All We Ever Knew And Loved’ Feat. Baard Kolstad, in celebration of National Drummer Day, via Music Theories Recordings / Mascot Label Group.

Recording and Accompanying Dual Drum Duel Video Exhibits Ben Shanbrom and Leprous’ Baard Kolstad Weaving In and Out of One Another’s Performances – watch Here:

“All We Knew And Ever Loved” is quite unlike anything currently in the rock music landscape.  The song, which marks the return of the band after a six-year hiatus, utilizes one of the largest pipe organs in the world, a full orchestral brass section, thunderous pit percussion, and two dueling drummers to supernatural effect.  The featured artist on the song is Baard Kolstad of the Norwegian Progressive metal act Leprous, whom Earthside have previously toured with. Baard Kolstad was the perfect collaborator to help capture and escalate the frenetic effect. Kolstad’s hectic grooves and barbaric tom battery mingle and trade blows with Shanbrom’s drum set acrobatics in a way wholly different from the two-drummer features of their predecessors.  Opening with the haunting cry of screeching lead guitar, timpani, and pipe organ, the ominous introduction sets the stage for a horrifying climax that never seems to lessen in effect with repeated listens. This dueling drum performance of Shanbrom and Kolstad evokes the omnipresent feeling of a human spiral of conflict.

Earthside’s Ben Shanbrom shares, “’Drum battles’ generally aren’t something I find interesting because the execution of the concept in most songs and performances rarely rises to the creative potential of the idea. The drum duel in ‘All We Knew And Ever Loved’ is something else entirely! It’s a dual drummer composition where the two parts bludgeon, strike, and throw themselves at each other, weaving in and out of the other’s openings. It’s wild to hear my playing alongside Baard’s, not only because I respect him greatly, but also because I feel an almost psychic connection to his playing—there have been so many instances when I’ve listened to a song he’s performed on and thought, ‘ahhh, I would have done the exact same thing here!’ While I definitely feel we have some similar ways in which we go about playing with the pulse and rhythmic orientation of music, we also have some very clear idiosyncrasies unique to each of our styles; we used the distinct ‘part assignments’ in the drum arrangement of the ‘All We Knew And Ever Loved’ to heighten this contrast, while still maintaining a clear flow, and portraying the musical narrative of two opposing forces colliding.”

Leprous’ Baard Kolstad offers, “Earthside is definitely a band thinking forward, and trying to break some of the barriers, so I really hope this track will somehow push the whole genre a little bit for what you can do.  It was a f**** pleasure to join this whole song and this band, and I’m very grateful that when I forced the guys to pick me as a guest musician that they obeyed.  After recording this with Earthside, I’ve been more and more into arrangement of two drummers in metal and music in general. It’s a completely awesome track—I think it all turned out very epic.  When you can have the two different drum kits panned in each of our ears, and you get very much the feeling of being inside the whole band somehow.

The cinematic and groundbreaking animation video, was directed by Maxime Tiberghien & Sylvain Favre, renowned for their prior work with Gojira (‘Another World’). Earthside keyboardist Frank Sacramone, who composed the music, shares, “Humans are the only beings that knowingly destroy themselves.  Animals don’t have a developed consciousness like we do, or a sense of right or wrong, but ‘all we knew and ever loved’ will be gone as we keep perpetuating the same poor decision-making as a species—the same societal structures, economic norms, same use of power. Day by day, we’re beginning to see very real consequences to these willful abuses on a scale we don’t fully comprehend.”

Through the positively apocalyptic sounds of one of the largest pipe organs in the world (recorded at the First Congregational Church in Los Angeles), and an earth-shaking mix courtesy of Randy Staub, known for mixing Metallica’s legendary symphonic live album, S&M, the effect isn’t merely devastating; it’s inescapable. Shanbrom reveals, “A piece of art that resonated strongly with us during the writing and recording of both “All We Knew …” and the new album, was a painting called Duelo a Garrotazos or Fight with Cudgels by the Spanish artist Francisco Goya.  From the time I was exposed to Goya’s Black Paintings—a series of extremely dark meditations on human nature—I’ve been obsessed with them, and the uncanny message of Duelo felt immediately timely and haunting in its relevance to the current day.   This vindictive pettiness that we see all around us in our politics, our arguments, and daily interactions is something universal and terrifying in human nature, and as Frank was composing this song, I was wondering if there was a way we could represent that complex and poignant scene in the actual music. Through a very special collaboration, I think we did it.”  The scene which Shanbrom references depicts two men swinging at each other with full abandon as a far more threatening force—the surrounding quicksand—slowly consumes their lower bodies.

Stay tuned for additional release dates and information on Earthside. The band is Jamie Van Dyck, Ben Shanbrom, Frank Sacramone and Ryan Griffin.

JINJER Release Powerful Music Video for ‘Disclosure!’

This past summer, progressive metal giants JINJER released their most in-demand and successful album yet, Wallflowers, subsequently hitting the top of the charts all around the globe. In addition to several other top spots, the band landed at #7 on the German charts, #5 on the official UK Rock & Metal album charts, #1 on both the US Billboard Top New Artist Album charts and Canada’s Hard Music album charts, and #2 on the US Hard Music album charts.

Amid their lively and groundbreaking touring schedule in support of Wallflowers – which saw the band embark on a European tour with Hypno5e and Napalm Records colleagues Space Of Variations, and their current nearly sold out North American headline tour with Suicide Silence and All Hail The Yeti – JINJER pushed their limits and shot a massive music video for the album track “Disclosure!”.

With a fiery opening, “Disclosure!” cuts sharp like a razor blade without making any compromises. Distorted guitars, multifarious drums and an interplay of invading screeches and deep growls unfold the full power of the chart-topping title. The video verges on a visually played mind game, which seems almost cinematically intimidating, transmitting the feeling of strength across the screen.

JINJER bassist Eugene states:
“The track ‘Disclosure!’ and the video itself is a very important video for JINJER. Not only is it one of our favorite tracks on the new album as well as live, our ex-guitarist Dmitriy Oksen stars in the video and was great to work with him again, even if it‘s in a different capacity now.”

Eugene on the video:
“Believe it or not it is not always easy being in the spotlight all the time … with each success this band reaches there is a huge amount of expectations from the outside that come with each step we make. From personal opinions to politics and now to the pandemic, our every move is scrutinized and judged by the outside. Although it‘s not always fun, we would not have it any other way …”

Get your copy of Wallflowers NOW

You can find more formats and specials, as well as new merch in the JINJER merch shop HERE!

JINJER‘s exceptional precision of modern metal paired with tough as nails attitude has earned them a fiercely loyal, rabid fanbase and massive critical acclaim, making JINJER one of the most talked about bands today and garnering them many sold out performances across the globe.

Since announcing Wallflowers, the band has graced numerous renowned international magazine covers, booked the biggest stories, sold out countless tour dates and their first two new singles, “Vortex” and “Mediator”, both cracked the multi-million stream mark in no time. The new album not only presents a methodical and premeditated next step in the band’s already imposing career, but moreover, it mirrors the personal adversities they’ve faced due to the worldwide events of the last year. Wallflowers is not only an upgrade to the progressive groove metal sound that all JINJER fans crave, but also a sonic pressure cooker of technical musicianship, emotional fury and an intense soundtrack befitting the harrowing state of the world today. Hailing from the conflict-ridden Ukrainian region of Donetsk but now calling Kiev their home base, JINJER truly do not mince words – or riffs – on Wallflowers.

LORD OF THE LOST Release Music Video For “My Constellation”, Feat. Criminal Biologist Dr. Mark Benecke

Today, LORD OF THE LOST once again provides a music video of the utmost quality and direction, arriving just before their upcoming Christmas store livestream on November 18. With the surprise music video for “My Constellation“, LORD OF THE LOST present a gripping, cinematic Christmas blockbuster that first spreads contemplation through frontman Chris Harms’ mesmerizing voice before subsequently ending in a shockingly unusual case, unraveled by the expertise of famous forensic biologist Dr. Mark Benecke.

This summer marked the release of their most successful album to date, JUDAS (#2 on the German album charts), and LORD OF THE LOST is set to publish their nearly two-hour Sinister Summer streaming concert, The Sacrament of Judas, on BluRay, out December 10, 2021. Their latest video for “My Constellation” joins a great lineup of impressive videos released by LORD OF THE LOST this year. Foremost among them are the successful videos for “Viva Vendetta“, of which the Hamburg-based band has released in two versions, each with a brand new respective production.

Chris Harms from LORD OF THE LOST about the new video:
„This video is so absurd, I can’t even add anything to it.“

On their new offering JUDAS, LORD OF THE LOST draw the listener into a conflict that has lasted for thousands of centuries and is as old as mankind itself: The conflict between good and evil. On JUDAS, LORD OF THE LOST tell of this conflict from the perspective of the character of Judas Iscariot, known as highly diverse, and the so-called Gospel of Judas, a paper that’s said to consist of conversations between Jesus Christ and Judas Iscariot and casts a different light on religious history as it’s told in the Bible’s New Testament.

LORD OF THE LOST on JUDAS:
“Don’t judge a book by its cover. This sentence could hardly apply any better to someone in theological history than to the figure of Judas Iscariot, who represents only one thing at first glance: Betrayal. If you take a closer look, almost endless possibilities of interpretation open up here: from “Judas the murderer” to “Judas the redeemer” and “Judas the actual martyr”, who, if you believe in it, could only find room in hell for his salvific betrayal after dying for what he did, in complete contrast to Jesus Christ. This field of tension and the apocryphal writings of the “Gospel of Judas” are the basis for a double album that not only illuminates the dark and light side of history, but above all the grey areas in between, in which we move emotionally and ideologically throughout our lives and try to find our place.”

Order JUDAS TODAY!

JUDAS sets off with atmospheric “Priest”, followed by “For They Know Not What They Do”, making clear right from the beginning that all the songs can be experienced the most organic and vivid way: A genuine, unique choir accompanies singer Chris Harms, whose multi-dimensional voice delivers the haunting lyrics straight into the listener’s mind more strongly than ever. Songs like “Your Star Has Led You Astray” or “Born With a Broken Heart” easily manage to keep the balance between harsh vocals, the distorted sound of fuzz guitars and an overall dark atmosphere that LORD OF THE LOST is known for, whilst “Death Is Just a Kiss Away”, “My Constellation” and closing “Work of Salvation”, for example, put grand piano tunes, authentic strings and the sound of a massive organ recorded in a church in the most suitable focus.

JUDAS marks the successor of chart-topping Thornstar (2018, #6 GER), and again breathes the innovative spirit of five musicians who are far away from setting boundaries into their very own unique art. LORD OF THE LOST has never been that type of creative force that’s pinned to any specific genre and has succeeded in surprising fans and critics with their nonconformism repeatedly over the years. With their new album, JUDAS, LORD OF THE LOST manage to thematically blur the lines between good and evil and put the so called “salvific treason” into a harmonious soundscape unlike ever heard before – truly an magnum opus!
