BEYOND THE GATES 2026 Reveals Third Wave of Bands; Nergal + Misþyrming Collab, Testament, Rotting Christ + More

Beyond the Gates is pleased to announce five new performances to the already stacked 2026 bill! The festival now welcomes U.S. thrash veterans Testament to the fold. The Bay Area pioneers have just released a powerhouse of an album, the critically acclaimed ‘Para Bellum.’ In addition to this legacy act, Greek metal legends Rotting Christ are considered innovators of the black metal scene; they will compile a very exclusive old school set for Beyond the Gates, performing songs from the period 1989 – 1995. French post-metal icons Alcest have steadfastly continued their ascent to the stars, with last years mindblowing ‘Les Chants de l’aurore’ album and their mesmerizing live shows as stepping stones. Beyond the Gates is very pleased to have them back. Vafurlogi from Iceland released their debut album ‘Í vökulli áþján’ last year. The band helmed by former Svartidauden guitarist, Þórir Garðarsson, will be a most welcome treat to festival-goers.

In addition, Beyond the Gates will present a very special collaboration between Behemoth frontman Nergal and Icelandic black metal visionaries Misþyrming. Marking the 30th anniversary of its original release, Nergal will revisit the dark origins of his musical legacy, performing Behemoth’s seminal debut, ‘Sventevith (Storming Near the Baltic),’ in its entirety.

He will be joined by Misþyrming, whose raw energy and uncompromising intensity have reshaped the modern black metal landscape. Together, they will summon the primal spirit of the 1995 release — an album that laid the foundation for Behemoth’s evolution from underground obscurity to global extremity. Performed live for the first time as a full conceptual work, Sventevith will return as both a tribute and a transformation: a rare convergence of heritage and renewal, honoring Behemoth’s roots while embracing the ferocity of a new generation.

The current lineup is now as follows with many more TBA!

THE COMMONERS Release Brand-New Single ‘Just Watch Me’

Celebrated Canadian roots rock band The Commoners return to the UK in December 2025 for a 10-date headline tour. Special guests are North Devon alt-rock duo Candar. Tickets are available from Planet Rock and Commoners.ca.

To coincide with their December UK tour, The Commoners are pleased to release their brand-new single “Just Watch Me”, out since yesterday, on Friday November 7th. The high-octane rockin’ single is available on all streaming platforms HERE.

“Just Watch Me is the moment you stop apologizing for the weight on your shoulders and lean into it,” says The Commoners’ guitarist Ross Hayes Citrullo. “The main guitar riff feels like a rising charge, before the chorus kicks the doors open, and a jam section that refuses to back down. It’s a statement piece for the stage. We’re looking forward to playing it live on tour.”

The new single is a bold, defiant anthem about ownership, resilience, and stepping into leadership when the moment calls. The lyrics rally against self-doubt – “If you think the crown weighs heavy on me, you ain’t been listening… “I’m making up a task force, the likes you’ve never seen.”

Musically, “Just Watch Me” transitions from reflective verses into a hook-rich chorus before a searing guitar solo, built for big rooms and louder nights.

North Devon alt-rock duo Candar join the tour as special guests, bringing melodic vocals, gritty guitar riffs, and bombastic drums. Fresh from two Glastonbury appearances and a sold-out UK/Ireland run with Bôa in 2024, they’re primed to light up the stage each night.

“The UK has become a second home for us,” says The Commoners’ bassist, Ben Spiller. “Over the last few years, we’ve had the pleasure of rocking dozens of shows over the course of five unforgettable UK tours and festivals.”

The new single and December UK tour follows hot on the heels of the live album The Commoners – Live in the UK. Featuring nine explosive tracks, the live album captures expanded performances from the band’s explosive 2024 UK tour.

TREAT Release Video for New Single ‘Out With A Bang’ from Upcoming Album

Swedish melodic rock band Treat have released today their new single “Out With A Bang”, along with an official video, taken from the upcoming new studio album, “The Wild Card”, out November 21, 2025, via Frontiers Music Srl.

Guitarist Anders Wikström said: “The album opener and a shift into full gear. A song about standing your ground through life’s high and lows and remember it’s not a popularity contest. Put a smile on your face, do your best, dig where you stand and go out with a bang.”

Pre-Order “The Wild Card” HERE

Swedish melodic rock pioneers Treat are set to make a bold statement in 2025 with the release of their tenth studio album, “The Wild Card”.

Arriving three years after their critically acclaimed 2022 release “The Endgame”, the album continues the band’s legacy of delivering high-energy melodic hard rock with massive hooks, layered harmonies, and stadium-sized anthems.

Guitarist Anders Wikström discussed about how the album came to life: “I set out to write an album that would be a musical timeline for our whole career and it carries the message in each song both musically and lyrically. It takes the band full circle, something that I actually had in mind with our last album “The Endgame” and have now completed”.

“We made this album for us and the fans, and we became better at what we do together with our producer Peter Månsson. This is the first album we’ve made that actually has a story timeline imbedded, subtle but still there, starting from the early 80s up until now, and every song stands on their own in a collection of the best songs we could muster”, he continued.

Wikström concluded: “I’m really proud of “The Wild card”, it’s the strongest collection of songs we’ve put out since a long time, everybody in the band is really showcasing their best ability on this record and worked really hard to make this very special, to make the band’s legacy memorable”.

Formed in Stockholm in the early 1980s, Treat quickly rose to prominence with their blend of melodic hard rock and AOR, sharing the spotlight with fellow Scandinavian acts like Europe and Pretty Maids.

After a decade of success, lineup changes and industry shifts led to a hiatus in the 1990s – but the band returned stronger than ever with their 2006 reunion, ushering in a new era of creative resurgence and fan devotion across Europe, Japan, and beyond.

“The Wild Card” marks their fifth album since the reunion and solidifies the chemistry of their current, long-standing lineup: Robert Ernlund (vocals), Anders Wikström (guitar), Patrick Appelgren (keyboards), Jamie Borger (drums), and Nalley Pahlsson (bass).

The album is once again produced and mixed by Peter Månsson, whose collaboration with the band continues to deliver the polished, punchy sound fans have come to love.

Armed with fresh energy and an unwavering commitment to their roots, Treat are ready to show the world that “The Wild Card” is anything but a gamble – it’s a winning hand from a band that’s still at the top of their game.

KADAVAR Release New Album “K.A.D.A.V.A.R.”

Posted by tarjavirmakari on November 8, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Kadavar. Leave a comment

Apocalypse now, baby. Maybe there’s no fire falling from the skies, no locusts eating us alive, no oceans of blood (yet). But other than that? It’s pretty goddamn apocalyptic out there! Of course, this isn’t exactly a recent development: KADAVAR already roared through their very own doomsday scenario with “Rough Times” back in 2017. Even back then, everything was fucked. But eight years down the road, Kadavar had to realise that things have only gotten way, way worse. Just like they did back then, Berlin’s rock royalty respond with music – and sound significantly rawer, louder, and darker than before: “K.A.D.A.V.A.R.” is like a second debut album, a new reference work that combines the obsessive riffing of their early days with the spacey creativity of their brilliant new four-piece constellation.

Just a few months ago, Kadavar set the controls for the heart of the sun with the spectacular space rock trip “I Just Want To Be A Sound”, an album like they’d never made before. An album they needed to make in order to survive: Lupus Lindemann, Tiger Bartelt, Jascha Kreft and Simon Bouteloup were running on empty. They were tired of touring around the world. Tired of themselves, perhaps. But what to do with everything they had built up? How to continue a career that had made Kadavar Germany’s biggest vintage rock export worldwide, but now suddenly felt like a chore? Just quit? Write the same album over and over again?

No. They tore everything down.

Alongside ingenious German producer Max Rieger (Die Nerven), Kadavar embarked upon a fearless odyssey in search of their identity. With the freewheeling “I Just Want To Be A Sound”, they created an album that became a new foundation for their sound. A foundation on which they could build their future. The album sounded new, unusual, the work of true libertines. And it actually did the trick: just a few months after this reset, Kadavar feel ready to return to the source of their original fuzz power. They haven’t sounded that liberated, that committed, that heavy in ages.

“K.A.D.A.V.A.R.” is an album like the old days. Only seen through the lens of the last record. “This album was basically already laid out in its predecessor,” says Tiger Bartelt. “It’s like a negative of it.” What tended to meander on the last record is now a ten-ton groove. Where it was more about atmospheric soundscapes, the almighty riff reigns supreme. “We are consciously going back to our roots,” adds Lupus Lindemann. “We wanted fat riffs again, we just felt like booming hard rock.”

Of course, this shift also needs the right sound. Thus, “K.A.D.A.V.A.R.” was created in the same way as almost all the other records before it: with Tiger Bartelt in the producer’s chair. “It was recorded directly on tape again, and I even brought my old acrylic drum kit back into the studio,” he says. This return to the womb of their DNA did something to the very soul of the band. “All the uncertainty, all the doubts just vanished into thin air,” says Tiger. “And what can I say: this analogue sound is just perfect for us. Period. Over the last few years, we’ve learned that it’s not always about sounding different. It’s about having fun. And this time we had fun with something familiar. Simple as that. It just felt awesome to make this record. It’s like a sort of homecoming.”

A homecoming, though, after a formative hero’s journey: without “I Just Want To Be A Sound”, without the experimental Covid record “Isolation Tapes” or the collaboration album with the psych-doom gods Elder, without the reorganisation as a quartet with Jascha Kreft, and even without the songwriting jobs for German Hip-Hop idols Die Fantastischen Vier, none of this would ever have happened. “Our projects really couldn’t have been further apart during that time,” laughs Lupus. “But they were necessary because they showed us what Kadavar can be. Can become.” That’s why “K.A.D.A.V.A.R.” is also the opposite of a step backwards. It’s a big step forward, fed by the raw origins of this band. “The circle is now complete,” nods Tiger. “Since our debut, we’ve been reaching further and further to define rock music for ourselves. And now, with all these experiences, with all these expressions under our belts, we’ve simply made another rock record like we used to.” Without this fascinating journey of the last few years, everyone is certain that this band would no longer exist.

Newcomer Jascha Kreft (Odd Couple) now also plays a key role in the Kadavar sound. Without him, the music would sound utterly different. The end of the classic power trio forced Kadavar to rigorously rethink their music. And to set sail for foreign horizons. “We were a well-oiled machine for years,” says Lupus. “A riff, a beat, vocals on top, done. With Jascha, we finally had all the powers we had always dreamed of. But first we had to find a way to harness them.” Jascha helped with that. “The guys welcomed me with open arms and immediately encouraged me to get involved in songwriting,” he recalls. “I’m not really familiar with that from other bands. Nevertheless, Lupus and Tiger have a dynamic that made this band what it is. And of course, this needs to be respected.”

Another new feature in the Kadavar cosmos is the depth of content. Where”‘I Just Want To Be A Sound” dealt with inner conflicts and struggles, “K.A.D.A.V.A.R.” deliberately looks outward. You could say it’s a classic doomsday record, their very own “War Pigs” if you will. Fucked up, angry, heavy, cynical, biting. It’s a reappraisal of everything that is currently going wrong in the world. Which is almost everything, of course. “That’s why these albums belong together sonically and thematically,” says Lupus. “After that, there will be a third album, which will stand for spring, for resurrection, for a new dawn. But first we must wade through death and destruction.”

And destruction there is: the pounding bass drum at the beginning of album opener “Lies” and the booming riff that follows briefly bring “Iron Man” to mind and lead into an incredible groove that

makes it unmistakably clear that the band has lost none of its touch. Quite the contrary, in fact: when the chorus soars to the highest heights, you understand what this odyssey did to the Berlin-based band. They set out to find themselves, fought their way through trials and tribulations, shoals and shallows. Only to emerge stronger than ever before. More radiant than ever before.

Testimony to this are these nine new tracks. The spectrum ranges from the cheeky slacker rock of “Stick It” to the booming juggernaut of ‘K.A.D.A.V.A.R.’ to the thrash metal sledgehammer (!) “Total

Annihilation”. Kadavar have probably never sounded more diverse and archetypal at the same time. But that’s how it is when every band member contributes songs and ideas on an equal footing. “K.A.D.A.V.A.R.” sounds familiar and new at the same time, paying homage to yesterday without being stuck in it. And, most importantly: it‘s an album overflowing with the joy of playing. “We wanted to recapture the carefree attitude we had 15 years ago,” emphasises Lupus. “Of course, we can’t recapture the naivety of the first two records, but we can at least get close. It’s like our debut, only this time as a quartet.” It’s furious, it’s big, it’s bitingly heavy. Kadavar are back to their old selves. And yet, a completely beast. Welcome home.

MALEFIC THRONE Premiere New Single ‘The Voice of my Ghost’

Listen to the first single from MALEFIC THRONE’s debut studio album, “The Conquering Darkness”, due out November 28th on Agonia Records.

The band – guitarist Gene Palubicki (Angelcorpse, Perdition Temple), vocalist & bassist Steve Tucker (Morbid Angel) and drummer John Longstreth (Origin, Hate Eternal, ex-Angelcorpse) – unveil the song “The Voice of my Ghost”, available for streaming at this location.

The trio was put together by Palubicki in 2020, after initially having met at Morrisound in 1997, where both Angelcorpse and Morbid Angel were recording their own albums side to side. “This bands roots can be traced all the way back to the mid 90s when Gene, Steve, and I first met at Morrisound studios,” John Longstreth comments. “It’s an amazing feeling to see those old conversations and hang outs develop into a true celebration of blistering infernal death metal. I have no doubt that this union will be absolutely crushing.” Palubicki stresses out that the music produced by MALEFIC THRONE has the imprint of all three members very present in every moment of the songs. The synthesis of the three members through delivery and writing is what makes band its own special entity, with an an increased dynamic within the form of death metal they generate.

“The Conquering Darkness” was recorded, mixed and mastered at Menegroth The Thousand Caves (Gorguts, Origin, Atheist) with Colin Marston. Drummer John Longstreth hints at the outcome as extremely brutal and infernal nuclear death metal. Its cover artwork was painted by renowned artist Daniele Valeriani (Dark Funeral, Mayhem). Christophe Szpajdel (Emperor, Moonspell) crafted the band’s logo.

5RAND Unleash New Single ‘Turbid’ from Upcoming Third Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on November 8, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: 5RAND. Leave a comment

5RAND unveil their brand new single “Turbid”, the third preview from their highly anticipated third album “Ordhalia”, out November 28th via Art Gates Records.

Stream it at THIS LOCATION.

“Turbid” is a furious hymn for those who still dare to dream when the world demands obedience.
The song portrays the loneliness of walking an unbeaten path, where every dream feels like a wound and every step cuts deeper. To chase meaning in a world built for comfort is to bleed, to fall, to rise again while others hope you stay down. “Turbid” is that defiance, the refusal to become numb, the rage of someone who chooses truth over apathy.
“Turbid” is a call to arms for the dreamers, the outcasts, and the broken a reminder that every scar is proof you tried to live your own way.

Musically, “Turbid” channels 5RAND’s signature modern metal intensity: angular riffs, visceral grooves and Julia Elenoir’s voice shifting between primal fury and aching clarity. It’s chaos sculpted into form; melodic yet merciless, an anthem for those who keep fighting even when everything around them whispers “give up”.

“Ordhalia” was produced by Marco Mastrobuono (Fleshgod Apocalypse, Hour Of Penance) and mastered by Jens Bogren (Kreator, Opeth).

Album tracklist:

1. Lullaby for the Broken
2. Bloodlife
3. Ordhalia
4. The Nihilist (feat. M. Silvestro / Fear Factory)
5. Double Bind
6. Turbid
7. Ritual of Silence
8. Lethargy
9. Resurge in Death
10. Silent Line

Hailing from Rome, Italy, 5RAND builds on a punishing modern metal foundation, layered with the cinematic depth of melodic death metal, creating an intense and emotionally immersive soundscape. Fronted by the dynamic dual vocals of Julia Elenoir – shifting seamlessly from visceral growls to haunting clean melodies – the band has carved out a distinctive place in the modern metal scene.

Founded by Pierluigi Carocci (guitar), Acey Guns (bass), Andrea De Carolis (drums), and Elenoir (vocals), 5RAND first made waves with their debut “Sacred/Scared”, followed by the critically acclaimed “Dark Mother”. The band has since toured extensively across Europe, sharing the stage with iconic acts such as Dark Tranquillity, Vader, Butcher Babies, Infected Rain, and many others.

In 2025, 5RAND will unveil their most ambitious work to date – a bold new album mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios, featuring a powerful guest appearance by the new Fear Factory vocalist, Milo Silvestro. This upcoming release signals a sonic evolution: darker, more introspective, and conceptually daring.

The band’s name, drawn from a chance encounter with a shaman and a South African 5 Rand coin, symbolizes unexpected paths and transformative experiences. Their music explores themes of identity, emotional detachment, philosophy, and human resilience, all woven together through a multidisciplinary artistic vision that spans both sound and visuals.

Line-up:

Julia Elenoir – Voice
Pierluigi Carocci – Guitar
Acey Guns – Bass
Andrea De Carolis – Drums
