MY INFECTED SOUL was created in the mind of singer songwriter/multi instrumentalist Brian Troch. (Cyclone Temple, Hammeron, Shooting Hemlock,Elliott Waits For No One, VANTE).
My Infected Soul has a very dark industrial/rock/metal/rave/djent vibe with peaks and valleys which take the listener on a very emotionally intense ride.
During the writing process Brian had to step away for a while as the subject matter was very personal and sometimes extremely painful. “After years of compartmentalizing Claude had been let out of the box” Troch stated and “a flood of emotions came with him.”
When The first single “Infected” hit the airwaves it was apparent to Brian that there was definitely a there there. My Infected Soul was originally Brian Troch and life long friend and singer songwriter Jeff Vincent. After Vincent departed producer/composer and orchestrator/orchestra leader Spencer Creaghan teamed up with Troch to help co-write, form and round out the sound of My Infected Soul. The final piece of the puzzle was Brian getting his producer/engineer Jaben Pennell of Vibehouse Productions involved. Jaben and Brian had worked together on Troch’s alternative project and full album release Elliott Waits For No One with his wife Jenny Franck and Blue Man Group drummer Jeff Tortora, as well as currently mixing another hard rock project called VANTE with Brian and guitar player Scott McClellan, plus a single rock/rap collaboration with EWFNO and platinum rapper C Murder which is scheduled to be released.
The initial plan was to release a full length concept album called My Infected Soul, “The Essence Of My Psychosis” and all the songs for that album have been written and tracked. But as things moved along Troch changed his mind and decided to release each song as a single and then after that phase was complete the entire album in order with lyric book would be released.
This lengthy single “Watch The World Burn” was chosen as the first single release. The song takes you from anger to sadness/beauty/hope/destruction/finality and demise. Creaghan’s Orchestration is absolutely amazing and captured the feelings of Troch’s complex heart and mind to an absolute sublime level.

Prosthetic Records are excited to announce the signing of dystopian black metal trio, ABHORIA. Accompanying the signing announcement, ABHORIA have shared news of their self-titled debut album – due out on February 4. The Los Angeles, California band, which features members of Ashen Horde, Catheter and Vimana, have also today shared the album’s lead single, Mountebank, and its accompanying music video directed by Igor Borovac.
Speaking on signing with Prosthetic Records, the band comments: “We’re so excited to join the Prosthetic Records roster. It’s such an honor to be on the same label that not only brought 1349 and Gojira albums to the US, but has helped grow and support a slew of amazing metal bands over the years. We’re looking forward to finally getting the first Abhoria album into your hands in 2022.”
Of their debut album, guitarist and principal songwriter Vor comments: “There’s not a lot of hope on this album; it examines desperate people struggling to survive in an unrelenting world, as well as those who would seek to take advantage of others’ hopelessness.”
ABHORIA recorded their debut album remotely, with each member contributing their elements from afar. In fact, the band only met up – and played together – after the album had been recorded. The record was engineered, mixed and mastered by Shane Howard (Martriden, Helleborus) at Sawn & Quartered Studios; Shane was able to capture the raw brutality of the band, but with a layer of slick, modern metal production. A final visual flourish came courtesy of the distinctive cover artwork by fan-favorite Adam Burke.
ABHORIA’s modern take on a classic genre relies less on traditional black metal tropes and leans toward capturing the bleak landscape of an unforgiving world in sonic form. Through their lyrical storytelling, the band explores the darkest corners of the human psyche across the album’s unrelenting eight tracks. First single, Mountebank, focuses on a con artist offering the promise of a better life for only a “small sacrifice…”. Unevangelized looks at a despondent group fighting back against those offering “salvation” through religion. Grave Expectations explores a mysterious benefactor who lures people in only to hunt them for game.
ABHORIA invite you to discard your preconceptions of the genre, and embrace a take on black metal that reflects the relentless bleakness of a world not far from our own.

Dee Snider, Slash, Zakk Wylde, Randy and Tal Bachman, Martin Barre, Joe Lynn Turner, Charlie Starr, Elliot Easton, Robby Krieger, George Lynch, Marty Friedman, Steve Morse, Eddie Ojeda, Marc Labelle, Mike Portnoy, Bobby Rondinelli and Rev Jones Contribute Performances Celebrating Leslie West.
To Preview “Blood Of The Sun” As Performed By Zakk Wylde:
When Leslie West passed away in December of 2020, he left behind a towering legacy of epic recordings that few rock guitarists can match. But there was more to West than great songs (although, to be sure, he created a ton of them); there was his brilliant, idiosyncratic sound, a gargantuan earth-mover that razed arenas and stadiums across the globe. More than just paralyzing tone, though, he also had a touch nobody could beat. Stinging, swooning and sensual melodies leapt from his fingertips – with a deft flick of his wrist, he sounded like a Delta bluesman had picked up a violin. These elements and more helped to make West one of the most significant, influential and irreplaceable guitarists of the rock era.
“There was nobody on earth quite like Leslie,” says the guitarist’s widow, Jenni West. “The second you heard him play, you knew it was him. He loved playing the guitar and making music. He lived to make people feel good – it was his passion. He was famous to his fans throughout The World, but he was adored by other musicians. Everybody from country stars, rappers and heavy metal players – they all loved Leslie. He found it surprising, but I think he was also pleased to know how much he inspired other musicians.”
West’s longtime manager, Bob Ringe, agrees, saying, “I’ve worked with some of the greatest guitarists on the planet, and nobody could hold a candle to Leslie. He was so unique and special – his sound, his style, his power and warmth. Any guitarist I talk to has been influenced in some way by him. They broke the mold when they made him, and he took it with him when he passed away. He was a true one of a kind.”
An astonishing array of West’s admirers – who also happened to be friends and peers – came together to celebrate the trailblazing musician on the aptly titled Legacy: A Tribute to Leslie West. Executive produced by Jenni West, Bob Ringe and John Lappen, the album features dizzying, heartfelt performances by Slash, Zakk Wylde, Dee Snider, Bachman & Bachman, Martin Barre, Joe Lynn Turner, Charlie Starr, Elliot Easton, Robbie Krieger, Mike Portnoy, Eddie Ojeda, George Lynch, Marty Friedman, Steve Morse and Yngwie Malmsteen, among others.

Originally, the album was intended to be a retrospective celebration of West’s music on which the guitarist himself would perform some of his best-loved cuts with notable guests, along with a collection of new tracks. Two weeks before recording was set to commence, however, the guitarist passed away. Once Jenni West, Ringe and Lappen changed gears and put a tribute album in motion, they discovered that the process was far easier than they could have imagined: “We really didn’t have to reach out to many people,” Jenni says. “They came to us. What’s really amazing is, if Leslie himself had whispered into my ear and told me who he would want on this record, these would be the people he would have requested.”
West’s longtime rhythm section of bassist Rev Jones and Bobby Rondinelli laid down brilliant basic tracks for the guest artists to contribute their talents. One of the two exceptions is the dramatic retelling of “Theme for an Imaginary Western” (which West recorded with Mountain for the band’s 1970 debut, Climbing!), which features the walloping drumming of Mike Portnoy and commanding bass work by legendary Quiet Riot / Ozzy Osbourne bassist Rudy Sarzo. Two Twisted Sister alums – singer Dee Snider and guitarist Eddie Ojeda – turn in poignant performances on this grand and sweeping track.
“Leslie was a hero, friend, amazing guy and a guitar god,” says Snider. “I always wanted to sing this song. It’s my favorite Leslie West guitar solo. It resonates with me and speaks to me on so many levels. I’m honored to have gotten a chance to do it on this record.”
Unquestionably, West’s most famous song remains “Mississippi Queen,” and who better to tackle such a historic sonic behemoth than Guns N’ Roses’ guitar titan Slash? Joining the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer on an absolutely ripping, rifftastic rendition is singer Marc LeBelle, currently riding high as the front man for the band Dirty Honey.
Former Deep Purple and Rainbow vocalist Joe Lynn Turner tips his hat not only to West, but also to the late Mountain co-vocalist Felix Pappalardi on not one, but two cuts: On a standout version of “Nantucket Sleighride,” the bluesy, prog-flavored title track of Mountain’s second album from 1971, he’s joined by international guitar star Marty Friedman; and a haunting take of the psychedelic rocker “For Yasgur’s Farm” (from Climbing!), he teams with guitarist Martin Barre, best known as the longtime lead axeman for Jethro Tull. “It was an honor to do this tribute to Leslie,” says Turner, “especially to sing ‘Yasgur’s Farm.’ I’ll never forget seeing Mountain at the Fillmore East. Felix had done the verse and when it came to that B section, Leslie was hit with a white spotlight in his buckskin. It still chills me to the bone today.”
In 1969, West had left his band the Vagrants and began what was to be a solo career, but his album Mountain turned out to be the unofficial debut of the power trio of the same name. From that record, Zakk Wylde chose the tour de force stomper “Blood of the Sun,” and like West himself, he’s a formidable, show-stopping double threat on guitar and vocals.
In later life, West befriended Charlie Starr, singer and guitarist for the band Blackberry Smoke. Starr was in in awe of West, and he selected the soulful gem “Silver Paper” (from Climbing!) as his way of remembering his late pal. Responding to the muscular rhythm section of Rev Jones and Bobby Rondinelli, as well as the bravura keyboard playing of Mike DiMeo, Starr laser beams on the song’s joyous spiritual center and doesn’t let go. “I love ‘Silver Paper,’ and it’s got one of the coolest guitar licks of all time,” says Starr. “Leslie played exactly what the song needed; his timing was impeccable. He played way back in the pocket, and it was so nasty and so great – the kind of things that you aspire to. I’m very proud to be part of this project. God bless Leslie West.”
Doors legend Robby Krieger also knew West well – the two had shared numerous concert bills through the decades. “The coolest thing about Leslie was the way he played blues – it was just very natural,” he says. “He and Clapton were the best at the time. They just had the feel for the blues. Maybe in their former lifetimes they were blues guys.” Krieger picked a deep cut for his tribute – the ripping barn burner “The Doctor,” from the 1972 album Why Dontcha by West’s power trio supergroup West, Bruce and Laing (featuring Cream’s Jack Bruce and Mountain’s Corky Laing) – and he burns spectacularly on the song’s dizzying, slippery lead lines. Rising to the occasion, singer Ronnie Romero, a veteran of bands like Lords of Black, Rainbow and the Michael Schenker Group, howls with grit and grace.
As the album unfolds, more treasures are revealed: The celebrated father/son duo Bachman and Bachman seamlessly splice two tracks from 1976’s The Leslie West Band – “Money” and “By the River” – and fold them into one feisty, good-time flame thrower. Cars’ guitar star Elliot Easton is paired with singer Ronnie Romero on a sparky and frisky take on “Sittin’ on a Rainbow” (from Climbing!) – Easton’s fluid style is a spot-on fit for West’s country-flavored solo. Climbing! is revisited once more with “Never in My Life,” which features a go-for-the-throat repeat performance by Dee Snider and the paint-peeling guitar work of former Dokken lead picker George Lynch. And Dixie Dregs/Deep Purple guitar god Steve Morse (along with a return trip by Ronnie Romero) heads into the outer limits, firing off leads that are by both spacey and fiery, on the gnashing title cut of Why Dontcha.
“Leslie could take a simple two- and three- note phrase and just sell it with that gritty determination,” says Morse, who shared many a stage with West. “What was not to like about him? He knew everything to do. Just the phrasing of the solos and the commitment and the tone – it was really awesome to stand next to him and experience that.”
“Long Red” is one of the most fascinating songs of West’s career. First featured on the guitarist’s 1969 solo album, it was also a highlight of the 1972 Mountain album, Live: The Road Goes Ever On. Over the years, the psychedelic-funk groover has grown in stature thanks to the mind-boggling number of hip-hop artists – everyone from Kendrick Lamar to Kanye West to Ice-T – who have sampled it on mega-selling hits (even Mariah Carey used it on her 2014 cut “Money”). Here, international guitar icon Yngwie Malmsteen (backed by the ace rhythm section of drummer Bobby Rondinelli and bassist Rev Jones) locks into the bluesier aspects of the song and injects his own inimitable shred madness – and the results are wicked. With singer Teddy Rondinelli flooring it full-throttle, it’s a stone-cold slam dunk. This specific recording will appear as a bonus track only for the Japanese pressing of the release.
Jenni West sums the album up thusly: “Nobody in this world has ever made me feel loved as much as Leslie, and I feel so honored and grateful that I could give him this gift.” She laughs. “He would often say, ‘If it doesn’t make my balls rumble, it’s not right.’ And I think there’s some balls-rumbling tones on this record! When you’re listening to it, you might even think it’s Leslie playing – and that’s a good thing. He really believed that adage of imitation being the sincerest form of flattery. Even when some of the players do their own twists on the music, they’re still doing it in a way that’s authentic and respectful, and Leslie would have appreciated that.”
The Grammy-nominated powerhouse vocalist BETH HARTtakes on one of her most profound undertakings to date by channelling the legendary voice of Robert Plant on A Tribute To Led Zeppelin. The album will be released on February 25 via Provogue/Mascot Label Group and will be available digitally, CD, and LP (Black vinyl, Orange transparent vinyl, and Splatter red gold vinyl).
The nine track album highlights the incredible musical spectrum that Led Zeppelin operated in. At the helm was super-producer Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance) and engineer Doug McKean (Goo Goo Dolls, Adam Lambert). The A-list musicians include Cavallo on guitar along with Tim Pierce (Bruce Springsteen, Tina Turner); on bass was Chris Chaney (Rob Zombie, Slash);on keyboards was Jamie Muhoberac (Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones); on drums was Dorian Crozier (Celine Dion, Miley Cyrus, Joe Cocker), and Matt Laug played drums on Stairway To Heaven (Alanis Morissette, Alice Cooper). Orchestral arrangements were by David Campbell (Muse, Beyoncé). All that was left was the final piece of the puzzle… the voice.
Things clicked into place when Cavallo was producing Hart’s previous album, War In My Mind (2019), and she did an impromptu version of “Whole Lotta Love” in the studio. He later asked about doing a whole record. Beth said, “I’m not doing this whole album. To do Zeppelin, you’ve got to be pissed off to hit that right. I can’t go there; I’ve worked years to put my rage away.”
She continues, “then the pandemic and all the things around it hit. So now I’m pissed off. I called my manager and said, have Rob and Doug send me all the music because I am ready to do this.”
If you were to rewind, you could say the story for a Led Zeppelin album started further back; in May 2004 Hart prowled the stage at the Paradiso in Amsterdam for an incendiary performance of “Whole Lotta Love”. The song became a semi-regular fixture in her setlist over the years, including a memorable performance with Slash.
As a child, the sound of “Black Dog” traveled from Beth’s neighbor’s house into her orbit. Her brother introduced her to the heavy rock of Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. Her major-label debut came on Atlantic with the 1996 release of Immortal. The same label introduced Led Zeppelin to the world in 1969.
Earlier on in Beth’s career, former VP of Led Zeppelin’s Swan Song label, Alan Callan, recommended Beth contact Jeff Beck to work together. Hart and Beck have gone on to form a beautiful friendship. Beck and Jimmy Page are also friends, and for a while, bandmates in The Yardbirds. After Beck’s departure from the band, they would eventually become Led Zeppelin.
After her phenomenal performance at the 2012 Kennedy Center Honors for Buddy Guy, she received a standing ovation from Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, and John Paul Jones.
It’s fitting that “Whole Lotta Love” is the opening song of the album. From there, it’s a non-stop journey through “Kashmir”, an enchanting version of “Stairway to Heaven” to a James Brown-esque funky strut of “The Crunge.” Inspired medleys “Dancing Days/When The Levee Breaks” and “No Quarter/Babe I’m Gonna Leave You Now” stand on both sides of “Black Dog.” The penultimate song, “Good Times Bad Times” leads into the orchestral ballad “The Rain Song,” which closes the album.
Talking about the music and legacy of Zeppelin, she says, “it’s so beautifully done, it’s timeless. It will go on forever. Sometimes people come along, and they’re from another planet, and they make these pieces of art which will forever be.”
Hart is recognized as one of her generation’s most talented voices. She has sold out tours worldwide, including performances at historic venues such as Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, London’s Royal Albert Hall, and the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. She’s topped the Billboard Blues charts six times, gone double platinum and had a string of Top 10 charting albums across Europe.
On a final thought, Beth pauses and reflects to say, “this Zeppelin album allowed me to get all my rage out, and for that, I’m really grateful.”

Recently, Finland’s very own DAWN OF SOLACE announced its third full-length record, titled “Flames of Perdition“, which is set to be released via German powerhouse label Noble Demon. Initially scheduled for a release on November 12th, the album unfortunately had to be pushed back to January 28th due to the worldwide situation and delays in physical production. But what better way to pass the time than with a new single and video? Today, the solo-project by WOLFHEART‘s Tuomas Saukkonen unveils a brand new music video for the moving track “Event Horizon”.
“I am sure we all have been in a situation where you feel like being stuck in a dark hole without the strength to climb up and all you would want to do is to be somewhere else. Far and distant place where you could almost be someone else.” Tuomas Saukkonen states.

Finnish melodic death metal act RE-ARMED release their new single and visualizer video for “Monoeyes”. The track follows the release of “As the Stars Align”, which is taken from their upcoming 20th anniversary EP “XX”, out on 27 January 2022 worldwide via Inverse Records. Purchase the track on all digital platforms and watch the visualizer video, which was made by Joona Jaakkola.
The band comments on the new single:‘The lyrics paint the landscape with black and white – just as polarization erodes the democracy of our society. Some people tend to filter “answers to all questions” too much through their own social media bubble. In a nutshell, there’s always a way out; instead of fighting each other, we should be finding solutions together. Soundwise, the tension builds up as the song proceeds, creating a feeling of urgency and frustration, but yet still the track is more colorful than monochromatic vision that the lyrics paint at the first sight, just like life is in a reality – different kind of layers upon layers, catchy hooks here and there, without forgetting strong emotions..’
