Helsinki-based progressive melodic death metal band Numento unleashes their new single “Wrath” from the upcoming EP — a relentless, hard-hitting track exploring the dark side of human nature. Inspired by people forming abusive “relationships” with AI chatbots, the lyrics take the abuser’s perspective to question empathy, control, and violence in the digital age.

The band’s guitarists, Atte Asikainen and Aleksi Vehmassalo, tell a bit more about the new single. Aleksi states the following about composing and producing the song: “We started writing the song with the idea of making Numento’s heaviest song to date, one that would showcase our death metal influences. That’s what the song turned out to be, but we also added a few clean vocal phrases, albeit doubled with growls. Still, the song is our most aggressive song to date.” Atte Asikainen continues about the production: “We continued the production together with German producer Chris Herrle to ensure that the world-class quality and impact familiar from our third album would also be present in the new music. However, this time we used less synths and focused more on the core sound of the band.”

FROM ASHES TO NEW (@FromAshesToNew)—Danny Case (vocals), Matt Brandyberry (vocals), Lance Dowdle (guitar), Maty Madiro (drums), Jimmy Bennett (guitar)—are wrapping up 2025 with the release today (December 5) of a visceral new song, “Drag Me,” via Better Noise Music. Listen to the track HERE and watch the visualizer HERE.
“We wanted to create a song about feeling trapped in a war with yourself, when your inner demons pull harder than your better intentions can push,” says singer Matt Brandyberry. “Every good thought gets buried beneath the bad and you start to realize the real fight isn’t against the world, it’s against the reflection staring back at you. ‘Drag Me’ came from that place…the feeling of being pulled straight into hell by the parts of yourself you could never escape.”
The sonically intense and lyrically harrowing “Drag Me” is the follow-up to “New Disease,” which was released July 25 via Better Noise Music and marked their first new offering since “Live Before I’m Dead (Hours),” one of the six bonus tracks that appeared on the June 2024 release of the BLACKOUT (DELUXE) album. “New Disease” can be streamed and downloaded HERE, and the video can be seen HERE.
FROM ASHES TO NEW have already made their mark as a hugely successful band with a #1-charting album—2023’s BLACKOUT (Better Noise Music)—which landed the #1 spot on several iTunes and Spotify Rock and Metal charts across the globe. Artistically, the Lancaster, PA outfit have made impact with a distinctive amalgam of alt metal combined with songs that bracingly capture their generation’s anxieties.
BLACKOUT was an important statement for FROM ASHES TO NEW, acting as a prequel to the band’s 2016 debut album DAY ONE. Garnering over 310 million lifetime global total streams including nearly 20 million video streams, the album mirrored the angst and unrest the world felt during the 2020 pandemic, at which time it was written, while delivering a fresh spin on their myriad influences that broke FROM ASHES TO NEW onto the scene. BLACKOUT garnered various critical accolades, including MXDWN which proclaimed that it’s “melodic, emotive and undeniably powerful,” while KNOTFEST raved: “There’s an exciting immediacy to their sound that recalls the music renaissance of the late 90s and early 2000s… It’s that sweet spot of mass appeal where there’s a little something for everyone, be it From Ashes to New’s heavier metallic side, or their arena-sized choruses.”

Antihuman Artist, a concept EP rooted in the blood-soaked soil of early 1700s Finland. Set during the horrors of the Great Wrath, the story follows a man born into violence and shaped by war, who descends into madness and murder — expressing himself by creating grotesque art from the suffering and remains of his victims. Musically, the EP delivers raw, old school flavored death metal with relentless blast beats, shifting rhythms, and riffs carved from chugs, tremolos, and open-picked decay. Dual vocalists tear through the narrative with high blackened shrieks and deep death growls, painting a portrait of moral collapse in sound. Antihuman Artist is not just a record — it’s a descent. One swing of the axe at a time.

Wounded In Forest is a death metal band from Oulu, Finland, born from tragedy and reborn with a sharpened edge. Formed in 2023 following the death of the drummer from a previous project that had lasted over 15 years, the surviving members regrouped with a stripped-down, more direct musical vision. Every member took on a new role or instrument to forge something raw and uncompromising — an outlet for grief, rage, and reflection.
Musically rooted in old school death metal, Wounded in Forest blends the primal ferocity of early ’90s death metal with a conceptual storytelling approach. Their lyrics, written in English, revolve around one fictional narrative per release, each grounded in a real event or period from Finnish history. Themes of violence, war, trauma, and moral decay are explored with unflinching intensity.
The band’s debut EP, Antihuman Artist, is set during the Great Wrath in the early 1700s — a time of Russian occupation and widespread atrocities in Finland. The EP tells the disturbing story of an individual shaped by violence — born into abuse, sent to war, and ultimately transformed into a serial killer who expresses himself by creating grotesque art from the remains of his victims.
Wounded in Forest’s dual-vocalist setup deepens their storytelling Joni Moisanen delivers classic low-end death metal growls, while Miikka Pyykkönen unleashes high-pitched shrieks more akin to black metal. This contrast creates a dynamic narrative texture, with each voice representing different facets of the characters and their descent into darkness.
Musically, the band combines relentless blast beats, simple but sinister riffing, and shifting rhythmic patterns that keep listeners on edge. Guitarists Joni Moisanen and Joonas Kokkoniemi mix chugging riffs, open-picked chords, and black metal-style tremolo passages with the occasional technical flourish. Drummer Jussi Tuomisto drives the chaos with aggressive blasts and constantly evolving grooves that mirror the tension in each story.
For fans of old school Death Metal with a conceptual twist, Wounded In Forest offers stories carved from something raw and real. These are stories steeped in blood, rooted in Finnish soil, and delivered straight from the heart of the forest.
Steeped in the magic and mystery of an artist’s life in the Hollywood movie machinery, vintage-futurism storyteller Kelly Deco moves through space and time with imaginary twists on figures we sometimes see in the sky and know in our hearts. The album Constellation was produced by legendary and Grammy award winning music producer Val Garay (Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor, Kim Carnes, etc.) and boasts one of the last original artworks by famed artist Ioannis (Deep Purple, Alan Parson, Styx, etc…). The indefinite progression of time from past to present to the future, joins together with Venus, with all the fiery turmoil as a stark wake up call to where we may end up when the past, the future, and political climates repeat themselves.
Kelly Deco has just released the second lyric video from Venus and had this to say about it, “There’s a Storm A Comin”. “Places” gives you a blend of sci-fi with Cowboys, Indians, and Aliens, “Take Your Places” and sit down and enjoy another one of Kelly’s futuristic storytelling journeys.
An archive of Kelly Deco’s lifelong song writing adventures, the music of Venus speaks truth of the present world, each song expressing words of reality in its own artistic way. Venus tells a story of life, love, galactic exploration and political climate, which are currently relevant as a continuation of Kelly Deco’s vintage futurism theme.
Florida death thrash metal outfit INTOXICATED will be unleashing their third full-length, ‘The Dome,’ on March 27, 2026 via Redefining Darkness! The band is celebrating this release with the vicious first single, “War Club,” along with a music video that captures the band unrelenting dominance on stage. The clip can be found at THIS LOCATION.
Vocalist/guitarist Erik Payne comments, “‘War Club’ captures Intoxicated’s uncompromising perspective as observers of today’s fractured world. The band likens it to being dragged into fights you never asked for—pushed by forces that don’t reflect who you are or what you stand for. The track channels that frustration into a violent metaphor, exploring how even good people can feel driven to confront the malevolent forces dragging society down.”
INTOXICATED is a thrash/death metal band from Altamonte Springs, Florida, originally formed in 1993. Led by vocalist and guitarist Erik Payne, the band quickly carved out a place in Florida’s extreme metal lineage, earning early mentorship from Death’s legendary Chuck Schuldiner. Rooted firmly in Florida’s storied death-thrash tradition, Intoxicated’s sound draws natural comparisons to Death, Sadus, and Obituary— as marked by unrelenting speed, sharp riffing, and concise, high-impact songwriting.
‘The Dome’ is now available for pre-orders in the USA HERE while it’s available for the rest of the world HERE.
In addition, INTOXICATED hit the road yesterday, December 5, in support of Obituary’s Florida Swamp Tour 2. The trek will kick off in Destin, FL and make its way through the state until the final stops in Tampa, FL on December 13 – 14. The full itinerary can be found below while tickets can be found HERE.
The cover artwork for ‘The Dome’ was created by Celeste Payne and can be found below along with the tracklisting.
Their first run produced a trio of EPs—.08 (1994), Scars (1995), and Metal Neck (1997)—before releasing their third EP, Drain.
Following their initial rise, Intoxicated went on hiatus as Payne, along with Obituary’s Donald Tardy and Ken Andrews, joined the touring lineup for Andrew W.K. in 1999, a role they held for nearly two decades while performing around the world.
The band reactivated in 2019, returning with the Walled EP (2020) and their long-awaited debut full-length, Watch You Burn (2022). The album showcased the band’s signature blend of ragged thrash aggression and Florida-bred death metal grit. Featuring guest appearances from Ken Andrews (Obituary, ex–Andrew W.K.) and Tony Foresta (Municipal Waste), and produced, mixed, and mastered by Ryan Boesch (Foo Fighters, Andrew W.K.) at Candor Recording—formerly Morbid Angel’s headquarters—Watch You Burn reaffirmed Intoxicated’s place among fans of classic Kreator, Death, Obituary, Protector, and Devastation.
Now, Intoxicated is preparing to unleash their second full-length album, The Dome, on Redefining Darkness Records.
