After releasing their critically acclaimed full-length album “Dead Reckoning” on August 20th via Noble Demon (available HERE), Finland’s very own OCEANHOARSE have announced a new set of European tour dates together with Swedish progressive metal masters SOEN and PORT NOIR. The extensive 22-days-run through no less than 11 countries will take place in November and December 2021 and tickets are available at THIS LOCATION.
Guitarist Ben Varon comments:
“Ah, finally back in the saddle! It was looking a bit grim there for a while concerning touring upon our debut ‘Dead Reckoning’, but luckily this killer tour literally fell into our lap at the last minute, and now we’ll be heading out to Europe with Soen and Port Noir! We have a lot of pent-up energy from sitting at home for over a year, so expect an explosive Heavy Fucking Metal show once this tour hits your town!“
With former and current members of well-known acts like Amoral, Warmen and others, OCEANHOARSE have delivered exactly the kind of debut studio album one would hope to get for from such experienced people – “Dead Reckoning” features 13 tracks, loaded with crushing riffs, vocal harmonies and high voltage arrangements and shows a band willing to explore things in their very own style, instead of sticking to any kind of average formular.

Swedish horror outfit OPERA DIABOLICUS are now sharing the official music video for their brand new song, “Bring Out Your Dead!” The track is taken from the band’s forthcoming full-length, ‘Death on a Pale Horse,’ which is due on November 26! The song and accompanying video, which was created by Johan Bååth, can be found at THIS LOCATION.
OPERA DIABOLICUS comments, “Dark times demand dark songs (and dark music videos). By these words, we hereby proudly present our new visual offering to the world ‘Bring out Your Dead.’ Even though the song was written way before the pandemic swept over us it felt very prophetic when it was recorded back in spring 2020 considering the lyric theme of the song. On the lighter side, if you like heavy riffing, stellar vocals, fierce violins and Hammond organ solos, this is the song for you. “

LA based Theatrical Metal Band RAVEN BLACK has taken the opening theme of the 1993 TIM BURTON cult classic THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, “This is Halloween,” and created a new #1 Allhallows Eve playlist favorite! With a darkly playful lyric video directed by killDevil Films, RAVEN BLACK infuses the DANNY ELFMAN composed anthem with crunchy guitars and explosive, exuberant vocals from the diminutive front-woman.
“_Being our favorite all time HALLOWEEN Movie, created by Tim Burton, it was natural for us to want to cover this song. _
We both love everything Tim Burton and Disney so doing this cover has been an amazing honor! It was extremely fun to sing all the different parts together and give it our Raven Black carnival metal twist. “ – RAVEN BLACK & MUPPET
RAVEN BLACK will also be headlining THIS IS HALLOWEEN at The Music Factory in Battle Creek, MI on December 11, 2021 with FATE DESTROYED, MANTRA OF MORTA, SEPSISS, and MONSTER DOLLS. Tickets can be purchased for the live performance and remote fans can join the raucous festivities–including additional fun and a costume contest–from home via Live Stream.
JOHN LODGE, legendary bass player, songwriter and vocalist of The Moody Blues, and inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, is to release a new version of his classic hit ‘Ride My See-Saw’ out on Keeping the Faith for Halesouth Ltd, distributed by BFD/The Orchard. The song also features Jon Davison of YES on backing vocals.
The song was recorded live in Las Vegas on ‘The Royal Affair Tour’, and appears on John’s new live album, ‘The Royal Affair and After’ due for release on December 3rd, and available now for pre-order here. This is the first single from the album, and Ultimate Classic Rock has premiered the video here.
“Ride My See-Saw” was written by Lodge, and was one of two singles from their In Search of the Lost Chord album released in 1967. Billboard described it at the time as a “blockbuster rocker” and a “mover from start to finish”, and John’s new version continues to be that ‘rocker’ today! The song explores the idea of knowledge in a changing world, and ponders the question if perhaps what we are taught is not how things really are. Despite being 54 years old, the theme, and the sound, are as relevant today as they were back then.
In John’s words, “The song is really about growing up. You are taught things at school, and given ‘tools’, but then you grow up and go into the world. Then it’s up to you to discover for yourself what’s really happening. “’Ride My See-Saw’ is really about how life is full of highs and lows, you can’t ride the wave forever….and the secret to me is to find a balance to keep the glass half full… something I’ve thought about a lot over the last 18 months.”
“Ride My See-Saw” has long been known by fans as the finale at the Moodies shows, and each night during the ‘Royal Affair Tour’ Jon Davison would join John and his band on stage during this ‘encore’, adding his backing vocals to this rocking hit, arguably even more of a rocker than it was 54 years ago!
Davison has been the lead singer with YES since 2012, and has been friends with Lodge since they met on the ‘Cruise to the Edge’ in 2019.
Joining John on stage is his ’10,000 Light Years Band’; Alan Hewitt (Music Director and Keyboards), Billy Ashbaugh (Drums), Duffy King (Guitars) and Jason Charboneau (Cello). Together they capture the heart of this classic Moody Blues song, staying true to the original, whilst at the same time bringing a modern feel to it.
THE ROYAL AFFAIR AND AFTER is to be released on DECEMBER 3 on CD and digital download. The limited edition vinyl will be released on JANUARY 28.
Track Listing (CD and Digital) 1. Steppin’ in a Slide Zone 2. Saved by the Music 3. Legend of a Mind 4. Sunset 5. Late Lament (with Graeme Edge) 6. Nights in White Satin (with Jon Davison) 7. John Lodge is bass guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter for the iconic Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame 2018 inductees, The Moody Blues. Lodge has been voted one of the “10 most influential bass players on the planet,” and has been the recipient of many awards, including ASCAP (American Society of Composers and Publishers), an Ivor Novello Award, a Lifetime Achievement Award from Prog Magazine, to name just a few. Last Friday, the international powerhouse BEAST IN BLACK released their long awaited third album “Dark Connection”. But that´s not all, they have another surprise for their fans with the release of the striking new video for third single “Hardcore”, taken from the new album.
“Welcome to the next century. Dark connections and prohibited pleasures is the name of this ultimate game, a reality within reality. Some things are just too irresistible not to taste, even when it’s your own life that is at stake.” Anton Kabanen comments, as he sums up the core message of the video. “Time to reveal the naked truth and face the judgment. What you’re about to witness is the result of an unapologetic and unforgiving vision inspired by the mind bending works of Hajime Sorayama and raw cyberpunk animes of the 90’s, namely, ‘AD Police Files: The Phantom Woman’. For your pleasure, or your slight, we present you: ‘HARDCORE’!“
And there is one more highlight the band has in store – the amazing video game that they developed for their fans. You can play and get addicted here: https://beastinblack.com/game

Columbus, Ohio, Alt Rock band, AEIR, have signed on to Stephen Perkins’ (Janes Addiction) label Perkins Palace Records. The band released their new single “SMOKE ‘EM IF YOU GOT ‘EM” to all major platforms today.
“I spent 18 months looking for the right band. The first time I heard the band I wanted to know their story and let the world hear their story and their music. I am excited to tell the world about the band” says Stephen Perkins.
“We wrote ‘Smoke ‘Em If You Got ‘Em’ during the midst of the pandemic. The song is a take on the smoking guns of American politics; big pharma, the oil industries and big corporations, as well as the collective feeling of defeat experienced by a majority of Americans at the time. We shot the video with Paul Cunningham at the Ohio HD location, tracked it with Jacob Mooney and had it mastered with Mazen Murrat. All with the intent of capturing the angst of the climate at the time and also the raw energy of our live set. We are all super happy with its outcome,” says the band.

AEIR is made up of three local Columbus, Ohio, bands; Coya Hill, The Turbos and Personal Public . Before COVID-19 hit, the drummer and singer of The Turbos toured 160 self-booked shows in 2019. When the pandemic hit, The Turbos and friends Coya Hill and Personal Public came to an end, but the bands were still able to connect and form something great together. Even with the world facing so much uncertainty regarding the global outbreak, the newly formed group did not sit idly by but instead got straight to work. During the major lock-downs across the world the band wrote over 40+ songs. Out of the many songs they wrote, they decided on 8 of their favorites for an upcoming release in the future. Their new single “Smoke ‘Em If You Got ‘Em” was tracked and mixed by Jakob Mooney and mastered by Mazen Murrat at Katara Studios.
When talking about his label Stephen Perkins says, “Why now? I think with all my experience and hunger to help bands and artists grow, it is a perfect time to cross the bridge to plant the seeds for new artists. I am a label for artists! Artist first!”
The band is in the process of booking live shows in 2022.
