Finnish heavy metallers MIDNIGHT BULLET are set to release their fourth studio album Hostile Resistance on March 4th 2022 via Inverse Records. Enemy Number One is another single from the album and video can be seen below.
Enemy Number One is a song which shows new and unsuspected side of the band. Though some skatepunk and pop elements have been dropped for this album in favor of more aggressive sound, the band has still been able to bring new flavours to the table.
Tuomas Lahti, vocals & rhythm guitar: “Album release is getting closer and obviously we’re very excited about it! Enemy Number One was pretty challenging lyricwise but turned out one of the best songs in the album. This song is very groovy but also very heavy at the same time. It’s really rewarding to write music with this band because you never really know where you end up in the end. This song is about when your best friend becomes your worst enemy.”
Last year, Perth’s premier electro power prog sensation VOYAGER were bestowed the distinct honor of taking part in the prestigious song contest, Eurovision – Australia Decides! Now, the band is finally premiering the highly-anticipated single that has been selected to compete! The stunning video for VOYAGER‘s effervescent new ear worm, “Dreamer,” has premiered today, January 20th. The video can be seen and heard at THIS LOCATION.
For several years, VOYAGER has been petitioning to be selected as one of Australia’s musical representatives in Eurovision – Australia Decides. After being shortlisted in the previous year’s competition, the band has finally been tapped to represent Western Australia, making it the first time that the region has hope of winning the Eurovision title! The band will soon reveal the song that has been selected in the contest!
VOYAGER vocalist and keytarist Danny Estrin has previously commented on the track, “As humans, we tend to look to the stars and glorify what could be. Simply, ‘Dreamer’ is about looking at the here, the now and valuing what we have around us. Especially over the last two years, hopes and dreams vs the tiny locked down bubble we live in has been a constant push and pull… It’s good to be a dreamer, but the grass isn’t necessarily always greener. We’re bringing this track to ‘Eurovision – Australia Decides’ as our official entry and we can’t wait to finally be on stage again!“
“Dreamer” can be ordered across streaming services HERE.
In 2020, VOYAGER‘s music video for “Runaway” was exclusively premiered via ‘Eurovision – Australia Decides!’ Following an application via the Song Portal, the band finally received recognition for submitting a track and were paid tribute on the live television broadcast that aired on Saturday, February 8 on the Gold Coast. The can be seen at THIS LOCATION.
The song was taken from VOYAGER‘s 2019 release ‘Colours in the Sun,’ which received a wealth of international accolades. Recently, the single “Brightstar” was the first place winner in the Rock / Alternative category of the USA songwriting contest! Last year, ‘Colours in the Sun’ was the winner of The Independent Music Award in the Rock/Hard Rock Album category. The record was released in November of 2019 and landed a coveted #1 placement on the Australian Independent Albums chart! ‘Colours in the Sun’ also debuted at #7 on Independent Label Albums as well as #27 on Official iTunes Australia.

Hot off the heels of their sixth full-length album South Of The Sun, experimental grunge rockers THE STONE EYE have revealed a hilarious new music video for the song “Who’s There?“. The video was directed by Jeremiah Bertin and Stephen Burdick. Watch it right now at this location. “Who’s There?” is the fourth music video from the band’s sixth full-length album South Of The Sun, which was released on October 15, 2021 via Eclipse Records. Get the album now at this location.
“When I wrote the screenplay for ‘Who’s There’, my goal was to write something silly and funny, while also maintaining the themes of mystery and paranoia that are reflected in the lyrics” says drummer Jeremiah Burtin. “Luckily, the final product was exactly how I envisioned it to be. Filming the video was a lot of fun, and it was a very creative process, with all four of us bouncing ideas back and forth and ending up with a truly collaborative effort. This is one of my favorite things that we have done as a band because it was way outside of our comfort zone; none of us had ever acted on camera before. But I think this video just goes to show that when you set out to just have fun and be silly, you may stumble upon a side of you that you never knew you had.”
The new record, titled South of the Sun, is one of those gems that is familiar somehow, yet takes the listener on a journey mapped out in new pathways. The album’s music invokes the spirits of Frank Zappa and Kurt Cobain while applying their influence upon music which easily falls alongside the likes of Queens of the Stone Age and Alice In Chains. Heavy with a layer of glorious weirdness, this album combines a raucous, dirty guitar sound with clever musicianship … vocals that are as hypnotic in harmony as they are diverse in range, and a rhythm section as daring as it is ornate and, at times, funk-a-licious. With thirteen mesmerizing songs altogether, the singles from the album certainly showcase the wide range of influences upon the band’s writing. For the first single “Witches & Raptures“, the band sings about being trapped in the big picture of the world around us and how servants eventually are consumed by their social masters after they have served their purpose. The second single “Catatonia” is more of an exercise in meditative songwriting designed to just lose the listener in the lyrics which represent such philosophical questions such as ‘who’s out there, what’s there?’. The third single “Aleutian Summer” can be best described as a scene out of The Shining, going stir-crazy because you’re figuratively trapped in the middle of God knows where. They are soulful songs, and in their own way erotic, both perfect for rock, alternative, stoner, and even metal radio playlists as fuzzy stoner sludge wrapped up in a progressive, pop metal take on the rock genre.

Dutch progressive death metallers ANATOMY OF I have signed to Time To Kill Records for the release of “The Los(t) Angered Sessions”.
“The Los(t) Angered Sessions” is not the new ANATOMY OF I album, but the band’s first unreleased studio recording from 2005/2006.
Operating under the moniker of TERMINAL EYE, the band split up between two sessions at Andy Larocque‘s Los Angered Studios in August 2005 and January 2006, leaving guitarist and main composer Michael Dorrian to call in vocalist Rune Foss (RECLUSION) to the studio to finish the recording, which ended up being in vain due to time constraints; the two tracks Rune was able to finish appear on this release.
During the global covid pandemic, with some downtime on his hands, it seemed like the perfect moment for Dorrian to finish the album and have it mixed & mastered for an official release, to give fans a glimpse of an early raw version of ANATOMY OF I.
“The Los(t) Angered Sessions” is set to be released on February 23rd 2022. Today the band is premiering the lyric video of the album’s first single “Malice And Deceit”. Check it out HERE!
Album tracklist: 01. Drowning 02. Day of Wrath 03. Vitrified Brain Fragments 04. Banished Messiah 05. Malice and Deceit 06. The Creation Of Chaos 07. The End Of Eternity 08. Hollow Victory 09. Cosmic Rain 10. Drowning (feat. Rune Ross) 11. Banished Messiah (feat. Rune Ross)
ANATOMY OF I is a progressive death metal band from the Netherlands. Mixing a wide array of influences ranging from 70’s jazz fusion to death metal into a mold of tech-thrash metal, ANATOMY OF I plays an experimental and avantgarde kind of music without losing focus and staying within straightforward songwriting.
The brainchild of vocalist/guitarist Michael Dorrian, the line-up is completed by Edwin van den Eeden (ex-SINISTER) on drums, Erwin Harreman (SUPREME PAIN) on rhythm guitar and Roderick Ras (HOUWITSER) on bass.
Since the release of its debut album “Substratum” in September 2011, the band has performed live throughout the Netherlands and abroad with the likes of CANNIBAL CORPSE, MASTER (US/CZ), DEW SCENTED (D, NL) and SADISTIK FOREST(SF), among others.
While looking forward to hitting the stage in 2022, the band is currently working on recording their sophomore release.
The debut album was recorded with Steve DiGiorgio (TESTAMENT, DEATH) on fretless bass and Dirk Verbeuren (MEGADETH, SCARVE) on drums.
Spikerot Records is stoked to announce the reissue of this timeless classic of Avantgarde Metal. 20 years after its recordings, SOLEFALD’s fourth album “IN HARMONIA UNIVERSALI” will be finally available on vinyl for the first time ever.
SOLEFALD are a wilful and truly unapologetical one-of-a-kind band, defying all known genre definitions with each release. “IN HARMONIA UNIVERSALI” is one of their most complex works to date, layered and eclectic, it stems from the band’s obsession with Progressive Rock, making its way through art, history and philosophy with lyrics touching five different languages. An unheard-of blend of Extreme Metal with bombastic passages, Gothic mystique, acoustic interludes, and the fearless use of instruments like saxophone, hammond and piano, make this album a crucial step in the band’s career.
«In Harmonia Universali» says Lazare «is one of the most ambitious albums we have created together. And more than anything it’s a statement of what happens when ambition meets possibility. The world has changed since its release, but ‘In Harmonia…’ still rises above convention and keeps on being itself.»
This long awaited release comes on double vinyl in two different color variants, housed in a deluxe gatefold sleeve with exclusive and extensive liner notes by Cornelius and Lazare, and including a 4-panel insert with lyrics.
The reissue of “In Harmonia Universali” will be coming out on April 8th via Spikerot Records and will be available in the following formats: – 100x LP “NUTRISCO” (Oxblood/White Aside/Bside)Hand-numbered, SPIKEROT EXCLUSIVE – 400x LP “EXTINGUO” (Black) Pre-order the album HERE
