Brazilian guitar-hero KIKO SHRED has been announced as the new guitarist of the Spanish DEATH KEEPERS, which now has members from three different countries.

The band was formed at the end of 2011, by the fusion of experience and talent of musicians who met in Barcelona, and strived to bring together the best of Heavy Metal in their style.

The band has three studio records:

  • On the sacred way 2014
  • Rock this world (EP)
  • Rock This World (Full-Lenght) 2018

In 2018 American vocalist Michael Vescera (ex Malmsteen, ex Loudness, ex Dr.Sin) joined the band.

After some member changes, the band Death Keepers announced the entry of Brazilian guitarist Kiko Shred, who had already played with Mike Vescera on two tours, in Brazil in 2016 and Mexico in 2018.

With a worldwide recognition that increases every year, Kiko now has one more opportunity to show his talent, experience and technique, and he will certainly add a lot to the very strong line-up of Death Keepers.

About Kiko Shred’s entry, the band spoke as follows:

“It’s an honor to announce that Brazilian virtuoso Kiko Shred is the new guitarist for Death Keepers. Kiko is one of the best Heavy Metal guitarists in the world and has played with legends such as UDO (ex-ACCEPT) Tim Ripper Owens (ex-Judas Priest ), Blaze Bayley (ex-Iron Maiden), Doogie White (ex-Rainbow, ex-Yngwie Malmsteen, Michael Schenker, Alcatrazz Official), Michael Vescera (Death Keepers, ex-Loudness, ex-Yngwie Malmsteen), Andre Matos (Angra , Avantasia … ) and Leather Leone among others.

In addition to being a talented stage musician, Kiko also has extensive studio experience, having released 4 albums. The most recent ‘Kiko Shred’s Rebellion’ was released worldwide by the German label ‘Pure Steel Records’ and in Brazil by ‘Heavy Metal Rock Records’.

Kiko Shred joins forces again alongside Mike Vescera. The band is very happy to be able to work with one of the best. Welcome aboard Death Keepers Kiko!”

Michael Vescera’s words: “Kiko is a great guy and a great guitarist, it will be amazing to have him as part of this.”

Kiko on joining the band: “The invitation came from guitarist Eddy, who contacted me and asked if I would like to join the band, he told me that Michael Vescera had recommended me, spoke highly of me. There are plans for a tour. Europe in 2022 and shortly thereafter we will record a new album.”

The current line up of Death Keepers is:
🇺🇸 Mike Vescera – vocals
🇧🇷 Kiko Shred – guitar
🇪🇸 Eddy Gary – guitar
🇮🇹 Ivory Gentilini – Bass
🇪🇸 Abel Sequera – Battery

Keepers follow the Heavy Metal style, but with modern weight and sound, that sound and energy par excellence that so many fans fell in love with in the 80’s, find the technological developments of our era, thus bringing to life a sound, a show, an experience of epic proportions.

With this new line-up, expectations about Keepers grow, which has great potential to be shown to the world.

THE LURKING FEAR Launch New Single + Video for “Death Reborn”

Posted by tarjavirmakari on October 20, 2021
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: THE LURKING FEAR. Leave a comment

THE LURKING FEAR, the old-school Death Metal group from Sweden featuring members of At The Gates, Disfear, God Macabre, Skitsystem, Tormented and The Haunted in their illustrious line-up, are soon to release their anxiously awaited sophomore album “Death, Madness, Horror, Decay” on November 19th, 2021 via Century Media Records worldwide.

Consequently, The Lurking Fear are launching a second single off the upcoming album today. Check out the rabid and ripping 1:11-minute track “Death Reborn” in a video by Max Ljungberg here:

The Lurking Fear vocalist Tomas Lindberg Redant commented about the track as follows: “ ’Death Reborn’ was one of the last tracks to be finished for the album. A pure old school death metal storm, that main riff just blew me away when I heard it, and I knew we had to make space for it on the A-side of the album straight away. The lyrics were quite instant as well, as the track had a certain attitude that needed to be conveyed in the lyrics as well. Still drawing main influence from the Lovecraft universe, but with an added extra aggressive twist. And, I know it is short…approx. one minute, but if you have three great riffs like these, why make it complicated?”

The Lurking Fear previously launched the single “Cosmic Macabre”, which can still be checked out here: https://youtu.be/yp5FlevsnWU

“Death, Madness, Horror, Decay” follows up The Lurking Fear’s acclaimed debut album “Out Of The Voiceless Grave” (2017) and was recorded at Welfare Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden with Per Stålberg and Kalle Lilja. The album features epic artwork (To be seen above!) once again conceived by Stefan Thanneur, who already worked on The Lurking Fear’s debut album, and also includes a special guest appearance by Chris Reifert (Autopsy, ex Death) on vocals for the track “Kaleidoscopic Mutations”. Here is the album’s tracklisting:

Abyssal Slime
Death Reborn
Cosmic Macabre
Funeral Abyss
Death, Madness, Horror, Decay
Architects Of Madness
In A Thousand Horrors Crowned
Kaleidoscopic Mutations
Ageless Evil
One In Flesh
Restless Death
Leech Of The Aeons

The album’s limited first-pressing Digipak CD edition will come two very special cover versions as bonus tracks: “The Curse”, originally by Slaughter and “Seance”, originally by Possessed. “Death, Madness, Horror, Decay” will of course also be available as LP on 180g black vinyl with a poster.

The album’s pre-order is available here: https://the-lurkingfear.lnk.to/DeathMadnessHorrorDecay

More shows to be announced soon…

As the world awakens from the numbest of slumbers, The Lurking Fear are ready to unleash another stark dose of supernatural destruction via the fleshly reality of “Death, Madness, Horror, Decay”. The void beckons. Resistance is futile…

CALLOW YOUTH epitomize everything that is great about Brit-rock, and they are arguably the hottest young band to come out of Manchester in the last few years. Since releasing their latest EP Straight To The End in April, the band has continued the momentum and hype with a string of new singles.

The new single ‘Ballad of a Travelling Man’ is out now digitally through Golden Robot Records, and was preceded by 3 brilliant singles – ‘Mad Machine’, ‘Bootleg’ and ‘Man In Need’. CALLOW YOUTH has continued the rollout of high quality British rock.

Listen/Buy ‘Ballad of a Travelling Man’ HERE

Based on the film ‘Interstellar’ by Christopher Nolan, as well as the fascination with the story and boundaries pushed during production of the film, Callow Youth’s latest slow-burning rock hit ‘Ballad of a Travelling Man’ is about a man who travels to space as a hero, yet is left forgotten and floating through the void alone after it all goes wrong.
