NAPALM RECORDS And AUSTROVINYL Sign Strategic Partnership in Response to Rising Vinyl Demand

Napalm Records, one of the world’s leading independent Rock & Metal labels, and vinyl manufacturing company Austrovinyl – both based in Styria, Austria – are thrilled to announce that they have joined forces for a strategic partnership, strengthening the domestic music market and expanding international structures.

The new collaboration will cover the increased in-house demand for vinyl, while strategically expanding business for Napalm Records, who have already ventured into different fields with their booking agency “Napalm Events” as well as their festival brands “Metal On The Hill” and “Rock In Graz”. Austrovinyl, located in the midst of the beautiful Styrian thermal spa & wine region, will continue to establish itself as one of the most state-of-the-art record pressing plants in Europe, and a reliable, high-quality producer of vinyl records.

Together, the companies will support the local and international music landscape and all its artists, bands and labels within various genres of rock and pop, hard and heavy, jazz and world music, alternative and indie, as well as techno, electro, hip-hop, soul and many others.

This growth and the enormous increase in demand for vinyl requires an extension of the company’s production and storage capacities. Therefore, a new pressing plant will be built in Fehring, Austria (with the nearest airport in Graz), within the same scenic Styrian region as Austrovinyl’s current location.  At this new location, the machinery will be expanded onto a floor space of approx. 800m², where the production can be tripled.

Taking this step will also create new jobs, creating further growth and expansion after the number of employees at Austrovinyl already doubled in 2021.

In addition to Napalm Records and Austrovinyl expanding production and storage capacities, the new building will also include a transparent factory experience that provides a complete world of experience around the vinyl record – a paradise for all music lovers! The manufacture and production of a record can be experienced firsthand during guided tours in the context of the “Erlebniswelt Wirtschaft” (world of business experience). On more than 200 m², the newest music on vinyl and live music will be presented in a café/club atmosphere. This will include a store area, where the latest pressings and productions of Austrovinyl can be purchased, as well as the releases and special editions out via Napalm Records and many other vinyl classics and specials in the various genres listed above.

The project planning is in the final stages and start of construction is scheduled for January 2022, with the goal of opening by the end of the second quarter of 2022.

Napalm Records CEO Thomas Caser on the collaboration:
“Regional & international power united! The philosophy of Austrovniyl and the passion with which this company is led coincides with the ideals of Napalm Records.
Strategically, we are opening another business field here and are also prepared for the future in this area!”

Austrovinyl Managing Director Peter Wendler adds:
“NAPALM and AUSTROVINYL – this is how business has to work in times like these: together in unity!
Creating great music releases with sustainable value in highest quality and wealth of ideas – in an ever exciting, innovative and globally active creative industry – strengthening and developing the advantages of regionality with motivated and top-trained employees.”

CLANG METAL FESTIVAL on March 26th at National Stadium Dublin, Feat. CANDLEMASS, CORONER, GREEN LUNG + More

Taking place on Saturday, March 26th, 2022 in Dublins’ National Stadium, the all-day event will see Doom-Titans, CANDLEMASS make their long-awaited return to Irish shores where they will be performing classics from their 1986 iconic ‘Epicus Doomicus Metallicus’, as well as material from their latest full-length studio album ‘The Door to Doom’, and most recent, ‘Pendulum‘ EP.

Having welcomed back original frontman Johan Längqvist, on their new album/EP, the band are gearing up for their long-awaited return to Ireland, and their performance at CLANG FEST will be the first for Johan, who commented on the show:
“I am so excited to perform in Ireland. This will be my very first time not only visiting there but also performing. This is going to be a very special gig and we all can’t wait for it. I don’t think we’ve ever played with Coroner either, so it’s going to be a very special show.”

The Grammy-nominated Doom pioneers are eager to celebrate the success of their critically-acclaimed 2019 album, ‘The Door to Doom‘, and EP release – “The Pendulum“, which was released via the band’s label, Napalm Records in March of  2020.

CLANG FEST will also be featuring the exclusive Irish debut performance from Swiss metal giants, CORONER, who will be taking to the stage in the Irish capital’s National Stadium on March 26th, 2022. Often labeled a thrash band, CORONER’s music went far beyond what is usually thought of as “Thrash Metal”. Their crushing discography is littered with genre-defining brutal thrash metal classics, not to mention their first four albums, which are considered to be one of the greatest impacts that ever happened on the Thrash metal field.

Having formed in 1983 in their hometown of Zürich, the band released five albums and a semi-compilation over a period of eight years – from the unpolished and technical speed of 1987’s ‘R.I.P.’, the complexity of 1988’s ‘Punishment for Decadence‘, the technical quality of 1989’s ‘No More Color’ and its derivative ‘Mental Vortex‘ from 1991, to the heavier and more laidback style of ‘Grin‘– the band progressed consistently, without ever losing their identity. Having disbanded in 1996 and their reformation in 2011, CORONER are reportedly working on a new studio album, which is due for release next year. This will be the band’s very first time performing in Ireland and will take to the stage in Dublin’s National Stadium as part of CLANG METAL FEST on Saturday, March 26th.

Also making their Irish debut is none other than rising purveyors of doom, GREEN LUNG, who have recently released the follow-up to their hugely successful, ‘Woodland Rites‘ LP with the critically acclaimed ‘Black Harvest’. The UK five-piece have been gaining a tremendous amount of recognition from around the globe, thanks to their ability to craft monumental riff-filled anthems that pack a serious punch in the lower intestine. Commenting on their inclusion for CLANG FESTIVAL and performing in Ireland for the very first time, vocalist Tom Templar says:
“We’ve been wanting to make it over to Ireland for years now and to be able to make our debut alongside legends like Candlemass and Coroner is a dream come true. We look forward to letting the Devil into Dublin in 2022.”

Joining the lineup for another Irish debut performance are Italian Death Metal crew, THE MODERN AGE SLAVERY who draw their influences from the likes of Whitechapel, Job For A Cowboy, etc.

Formed in 2007, THE MODERN AGE SLAVERY rapidly gained unanimous critical acclaim due to their ferocious 2008 debut album ‘Damned to Blindness’ via Napalm Records.

Alternative Italian/American Metal crew, KLOGR will be gracing the CLANG bill, bringing their hybrid of progressive/alternative rock to the National Stadium on March 26th. Having toured with Butcher Babies and The Rasmus, this will also be KLOGR’s debut Irish performance.

Closing off the bill will be rising Irish Alt-Metalcore five-piece, WORDS THAT BURN, who had smashed their UK debut at this year’s Bloodstock Open Air Festival in August, will be performing new tracks from their soon-to-be-released new album. Produced by acclaimed engineer/producer, Josh Schroeder [Lorna Shore / King 810], the band will be bringing their enormous sound to eh National Stadium for the first time, and should not be missed!

Rounding off the bill will be THE RISEN DREAD, a Brazilian/Irish Metal collective whose recent single ‘White Night’ features Sepultura shredder, Andreas Kisser. The bands’ latest single ‘Sound of the Unknown’ is out now.

Tickets for Clang Metal Festival featuring CANDLEMASS, CORONER, GREEN LUNG, KLOGR, THE MODERN AGE SLAVERY, and more are on sale NOW via Eventbrite from €64.90 [including the booking fee].

Use ‘DecemberClang’ to avail of a €20 discount offer ONLY for the month of December 2020.

TIME DWELLERS Sign with Argonauta Records + Premiere First Song from Upcoming Album

Progressive rock trio TIME DWELLERS, the brainchild of former Graviators guitarist Martin Fairbanks and multi-instrumentalist and singer Kristofer Stjernquist, has inked a worldwide record deal with Argonauta Records, who will release the band’s first full-length album in 2022!

Formed in 2017, the TIME DWELLERS blend anything from rock to prog, funk, and jazz to compose a potpourri of songs that are still coherent and cohesive. Their upcoming debut, entitled Novum Aurora, showcases a musical landscape filled with mellotron, 12-string guitar, synthesizers, grooving rhythms, thrilling guitar solos and imaginative existential lyrics delivered from a whisper to a lion’s roar. In a world that’s growing more cynical by the minute, where popular music, at the same rate, is getting saturated and bland, the TIME DWELLERS set out to put a blanket around you and soothe your aching soul, while not fearing any musical limits and borders. Give ear, as today the trio hailing from the South of Sweden premiered a first track taken from Novum Aurora! Listen to “Tabular Balls” here:

“Novum Aurora is an album with a lyrical theme about the apocalypse, the direction we are headed, but also of hope and beauty, that there will be a new dawn, perhaps a spiritual awakening,“ the band explains. “We are all Time Dwellers in the sense that we live here and now in the present. There is no future, there is no past, there is only now. Transform and transcend along with your fellow Time Dwellers! You are the sun, it’s time to rise and shine.”

Novum Aurora is slated for a 2022 release through Argonauta Records, with many more details and singles to follow soon.

The fury of Italy’s THE HUMAN TORNADO will be unleashing the new album “Love Is Démodé” on March 11, 2022 via Rockshots Records.

Today in preview, the band is sharing their first single “Dreamland” with an epic music video.

“Each one of us has an inner dark side, and we often have to control it to be able to do the best we can in everyday life. Dreamland is our invitation to fight and win our private monster accompanying us throughout life. So we chose this song as the first single because it represents our desire to fight and do our best on stage. The sound impact is strong, the drumming is powerful, the guitar riff is defined from the beginning to the end so that our message remains well impressed in our audience’s mind.” adds the band.

Offering a slab of smashing knock-out heavy groove rock, The Human Tornado has been making shockwaves since forming in 2014 in Bologna, Italy. The band made their debut in 2016 with their first full-length “Storm In A Ketchup” on Hidden Stone Records along with supporting touring bands such as Twelve Foot Ninja, Destrage, and Crazy Town.

The Human Tornado‘s sophomore follow-up “Love Is Démodé” was self-produced by the band with mixing and mastering done by Marco Paradisi at Boat Studio. The album will feature ten hurricane tour de force tracks that will leave fans breathless and eager to set the track listing on repeat from beginning to end.

“Every song is played with heart and soul and we wanted to explore new sounds, but without forgetting our heavy rock imprint, so we produced an intense groovy album with more melodic openings.” adds the band.

The lyrical concept behind the album is love, one of the strongest feelings of deep affection. It has different aspects and it can be addressed to another person, an animal, or a passion. But, if it’s pure, this doesn’t matter.

The band explains further: “For some years this feeling of love has been declining, going out of fashion. In fact, in our society finding people loving what they do is increasingly difficult and often image, power, success are the most important aspects of life. Moreover, these goals are more and more often achieved by means of questionable actions and negative feelings. In this album we want to express our idea of love in particular towards music, showing in every single song even the dark and negative sides coming from love in our life.“

The Human Tornado will be revealing tracklisting and album artwork at a later date for “Love Is Démodé“.

CREDIC Reveal First Album Details, “Vermillion Oceans” Out April 22nd

Stuttgart, Germany -based melodic death metal act CREDIC has revealed the first details about the band’s highly anticipated sophomore studio album. Vermillion Oceans will be released on April 22, 2022 via Sweden’s powerhouse Black Lion Records.

Featuring ten brand new tracks, with Vermillion Oceans CREDIC delivers a furious and ferocious, yet emotional metal Iliad. An epic brand of melodic death metal that is, despite upholding the very DNA of the genre, free and bold, charging with vigour and embellished by a monumental aura of longing not unlike the feeling you get when you gaze at the starlit sky in wonder and terror. Imagine a cross between Gothenburg metal and the score to “Stranger Things”, Vermillion Oceans sounds like a massive, zeitgeisty metal album taking a stroll through Hawkins, Indiana. You might wanna call it arcade death metal or not: This is a first, not only in the cosmos of melodic death metal.

CREDIC comments:
“We are honoured and grateful to become a part of Oliver Dahlbäck‘s Black Lion Records and his incredible team. For CREDIC it feels like coming home without having ever been there before. Not only is it a return to our Swedish musical ancestors from the Gothenburg area but beyond that a continuation of our vision.
From the first moment onwards we felt Oliver’s passion for music, his enjoyment in making things happen and had great appreciation for his future plans regarding our upcoming album VERMILLION OCEANS.
When we created VERMILLION OCEANS our goal was to pick up what inspired us in Melodic Death Metal over the years – taking the rawness from Dark Tranquillity and At The Gates or the hymns that In Flames or Soilwork wrote during their career – but mix it with modern guitar riffs and give it a touch of Dark Synthwave sounds that you all know from the Stranger Things score. All this creates a zeitgeisty metal album in a captivating new soundscape that takes no prisoners. We cannot wait to share this monster with the world and to blow your ears with VERMILLION OCEANS in spring 2022.“

Tracklist reads as follows:

  1. Tides Disharmonized
  2. Vermillion Oceans
  3. Darkened Fields
  4. The Path
  5. Interhuman Gravity
  6. Autumn’s Spring
  7. Chosen Ordeal
  8. The Mountains Between Us
  9. Tethys
  10. Long Street

Set for release on April 22nd via Black Lion Records, watch out for many more details and a first single to follow in the weeks ahead!

Umeå hard rock/metal quintet HELLBOUND pays tribute to their fellow countryfolk Nordman with a cover of “Och Regnet Föll” together with the Nordman vocalist Håkan Hemlin. In addition to the cover, the band had also recorded their own track called “King of Misery,” where Håkan also sings. The Swedish group has now released the double-single Och Regnet Föll, featuring both the songs, to celebrate the 10th anniversary.

The collaboration with Nordman’s frontman Håkan Hemlin came naturally when the idea was presented as there is a mutual admiration after Håkan took a liking to Hellbound at Discouraged Fest 2014.

Hellbound has also dropped a video for the cover number “Och Regnet Föll,” which was premiered via Metal Insider (full feature AT THIS LOCATION). The video was directed by Owe Lingvall of Dream Day Media, known for his work with Meshuggah, Sabaton, Nocturnal Rites, and more.

Hellbound frontman Miika Rudin on the video + dual-single:
“Being a huge fan of Swedish folk band Nordman since their debut in 1994 and a big admirer of Owe’s work both as a musician and videomaker, the chance to work with both of them in the same project crosses a lot of points on my personal bucket list. And I am very proud of the results.”

Access Och Regnet Föll on major digital/streaming platforms RIGHT HERE. The double-single will later be released as an exclusive and very limited 7-inch vinyl in 2022 via Discouraged Records.
