VANILLA FUDGE Release Remastered Version of Led Zeppelin’s ‘Ramble On’

VANILLA FUDGE throw out another re-worked Led Zep classic, this time it’s ‘Ramble On’ to go with the recently released ‘Immigrant Song’ and ‘Rock and Roll’. All 3 tracks come from the soon to be released album Vanilla Zeppelin.

This is Led Zeppelin done ‘’Fudge’’ style. This remastered version of ‘Ramble On’ is available now on all digital platforms via Golden Robot Records.

A great ode to one of the most respectable and best bands of all time, by one of the most respectable and best bands of all time. VANILLA FUDGE add their own slant to Led Zeppelin’s ‘Ramble On’, including some amazing organ interludes. This version definitely has a life and identity of its own.

Vanilla Fudge was one of the first American groups to infuse psychedelia into heavy rock sound to create “psychedelic symphonic rock” an eclectic genre which would, among its many off shoots, eventually morph into heavy metal.

Although, at first, the band did not record original material, they were best known for their dramatic heavy, slowed-down arrangements of contemporary pop songs which they developed into works of epic proportion.

Originally, Vanilla Fudge was a blue-eyed soul cover band called The Pigeons, formed in New Jersey in 1965 with organist, Mark Stein, bassist, Tim Bogert, drummer, Joey Brennan, and guitarist, vocalist and US Navy veteran, Vince Martell. They built a following by gigging extensively up and down the East Coast and earned extra money by providing free lance in-concert backing for hit-record girl groups. In early 1966, the group recorded a set of eight demos that were released several years later as “While the World Was Eating Vanilla Fudge”.

The East Coast, in particular, New York, and New Jersey, created a sound all its own. Inspired by groups such as The Rascals and The Vagrants (fronted by guitarist, Leslie West of “Mountain” fame). The Pigeons reworked many of their own existing arrangements of covers to reflect their unique interpretation of this “East  Coast Sound”.

In late 1966, drummer, Joey Brennan, moved out to the West Coast; The Pigeons immediately drafted drummer and vocalist, Carmine Appice, a disciple of the renowned Joe Morello (Dave Brubeck Band) and a seasoned veteran of the club scene. In early 1967, The Pigeons manager, Phil Basile, convinced producer, George “Shadow” Morton (producer for The Shangri-Las and Janis Ian), to catch their live act. Impressed by their heavy-rocking, trippy and psychedelic version of The Supremes’ ‘You Keep Me Hangin’ On’, Morton offered to record the song as a single. This resulted in a deal with the atlantic subsidiary Atco, which requested a name change.

The band settled on Vanilla Fudge. Vanilla Fudge celebrated their 50-Year Anniversary in 2017 and is still rocking the world as hard as ever.

Modern progressive metallers OBSIDIOUS are now releasing a brand new single called ‘”Sense of Lust.” The track is accompanied by a new music video, which was created by Guilherme Henriques. The song and video can be found at THIS LOCATION.

The track is taken from the band’s upcoming debut album, which will be released in 2022 via Season of Mist. Stay tuned for more info!

OBSIDIOUS vocalist Javi Perera comments on the video: “The theme is about a dominant with his submissive in a BDSM relationship and the acts they perform during their intercourse. It reflects desire, lust and perversion, but also shows the aftercare, as each knows that the other is enjoying their role, which blurs the line as to who is the mastermind planning and initiating this encounter.”

Recently, Season of Mist announced the signing of OBSIDIOUS which was accompanied by the band’s first single ‘Iconic’.

In April 2020 guitarist Rafael Trujillo, bassist Linus Klausenitzer and drummer Sebastian Lanser decided to move on from their former band OBSCURA to continue their musical path with the completely new band OBSIDIOUS. Free from former boundaries, OBSIDIOUS merge extreme metal with other genres of music into a unique style that people will somehow find familiar, but haven‘t heard yet. Together with their singer Javi Perera they set out to create a musical evolution: With a fresh name, reaching for new fan groups utilizing modern marketing ideas. OBSIDIOUS’ band members have many facets and influences to build upon, using virtuosity & technique to write great songs.

Rafael Trujillo, Linus Klausenitzer and Sebastian Lanser built a strong bond after years of worldwide touring and recording together with OBSCURA. With their last record “Diluvium”, that was primarily composed by the trio, the band celebrated their biggest success to date. Formerly unseen chart positions alongside massive praise by prominent media outlets & magazines document the success of this team. OBSIDIOUS aims to expand the existing fan base that they’ve gained: All (ex-)formations of the Obsidious members were defined through their musical characters.

The four band members that are based in Europe are known for their high musicianship and virtuosity. Their advanced technical level is an essential and unique part of their compositions. Guitarist Rafael Trujillo has a multicultural background and studied music in different countries all around the globe. Linus Klausenitzer is one of the busiest session bassists in the scene and renowned for his 7-string fretless bass sound. Strong drum independence skills and stylistic diversity make Sebastian Lanser one of the most influential drummers of the new generation. The web community shares the Ex-Obscura members’ excitement about singer Javi Perera being celebrated for his diverse and charismatic vocal skills.

OBSIDIOUS‘ music consists of modern riffs, strong decisive energetic melodies, virtuosity and epic unison lines. They love music that’s heavy, catchy, fast, and wild. The brand new album is currently being recorded and will be released via Season of Mist early 2022.

Black Lion Records is thrilled to welcome Swedish Melodic Death Metallers SOULDRAIDER to its roster family.

Oliver CEO commented: I am Beyond excited to welcome them into our roster. I have followed the bands journey from a distance for many years. I am thrilled to finally be able welcome them into Black Lion.

Souldrainer: We are extremely excited to announce that we have signed a deal with Black Lion Records and they will release our fourth album, which we are working on at this very moment. Black Lion Records have proven to be very driven to promote their bands in this current climate of the music industry.

Never imitating, but building upon the bricks laid by bands like Hypocrisy, Pain, Amon Amarth, Rammstein and Samael.

Souldrainer is the representation of the next breed of melodic death metal. Thick layered rhythm guitars, atmospheric angel choirs, string ensembles and ripping vocals, Souldrainer creates a distinguished harmonic aggression that hits you harder than a brick-wall-in-your-face.

Formed in 1999, by guitarist, Marcus Edvardsson, original members Johan Klitkou and Nils Fjellström, Souldrainer was at first a studio project. The foundation was Death Metal with an addition of strings and demonic angel choirs that adds to the atmosphere in a morbid mixture. It creates a feeling of “dying violently in a beautiful way”.

With three full Length albums in their catalogue, followed by extensive European touring, the band is now recording their fourth album slated for release 2022.

This way we wanted to remind ourselves and our audience just how amazing live music can be.”

‘Into The Depths I Ride’ is the latest single from international technical modern, melodic death metal outfit ANCIENT SETTLERS and and it is out now on all digital platforms via Crusader Records along with an accompanying video clip. The track was produced by the legendary Fredrik Nordstrom.

ANCIENT SETTLERS was founded in 2020 by Carlos Chiesa-Estomba & Herman Riera (former Haboryn), Rene González (former Aesthesis), Emmy Reyes (Blackbeer, former Gamalyel), and Antony Hämäläinen (Meridian Dawn, former Nightrage & Armageddon), a group of musicians with more than fifteen-years of experience in the European and American metal circuit.

Listen/Buy ‘Into the Depths I Ride’ HERE

‘Into the Depths I Ride’ describes an introspective exploration of the dark side of the human mind. Sonically, the song takes the listeners through a rollercoaster of speed and aggression as powerful guitar riffs blend with blunt drums, and deep vocals provide the appropriate space for a spiritual interlude.

The band started their journey with the intention to explore the frontiers of modern melodic death metal, including catchy guitar riffs, the use of synths & keyboards, and a variety of different sounds and rhythms, trying to develop their own music personality.

From a lyrical point, the band gets inspired by the recent tragedies that affect the earth and human race. They try to spread their message over all those who want to listen.

Despite this, the band needed to modify their starting plans, due to the pandemic outbreak. They pushed ahead and in January of 2021, the band released their first digital single ‘Diamond Eyes’, along-side a limited edition 7″ vinyl. The following February, the band released their debut album Autumnus. Both were recorded in Portugal, France, Spain and the USA, and requested the service of Daniel Cardoso (Anathema, Anneke Van Grisbergen) to mix & master the album, as well as Gus “Perkele” Sazes (Angra, Kamelot, Gus G, Firewind, Arch Enemy) to design the artworks.

In April 2021, Miguel Herrera joined the band as a full-time bass player. The band started to develop a live-session tour, including venues throughout Portugal, France and Spain.

Ancient Settlers have just signed to Crusader Records to release their killer 10–song album, produced by worldwide Grammy awarded Fredrik Nordstrom.
