GENTLE SAVAGE have unleashed their debut album “Midnight Waylay” for streaming on all major platforms, at this location.

Furthermore, the band has released the official music video for ‘Personal Hades‘, watch it here:

Lead vocalist Tornado Bearstone stated:
“In order to celebrate our MIDNIGHT WAYLAY album release on all streaming platforms, we put together a music video for the song PERSONAL HADES. The video footage is from our album release party streamed live in collaboration with the mighty BraveWords. We combined the live footage with the original album audio. The video looks pretty cool without anything else than the band working on stage with the cool light show around us. Enjoy!“

“‘PERSONAL HADES is on the dark and heavy side of Gentle Savage’s repertoire. We feel as natural with old school rock tunes like LOVIN’ AIN’T EASY as we do with these heavier more modern and even slightly proggressive tunes. Midnight Waylay album is a rollercoaster with it’s mood changes. PERSONAL HADES really kicks in with force making way to what’s happening later on the album.”

Tornado adds, “If the King of Hades starts to play electric guitar riffing and torturing souls, it might sound something like this…
Personal Hades is a story about mental and spiritual suffering. No help at sight, the narrator walks through the lands of Hades and cries for a rescue. Hades is used as a metaphor for the mindscape that exists inside a persons head when he/she is facing deep desperation at it’s worst. Welcome to the Lands of Hades’!”

Tornado on “Midnight Waylay” album: “Midnight Waylay depicts a ‘taking it easy in the daytime, turning into a beast at night’ kind of lifestyle. Just like a hunter strikes from the shadows, ruthless and silent, these songs can without warning rock your world. As a concept the album Midnight Waylay is best appreciated when served whole, but each song has its own character and works well independently. Find your own adventure, let yourself loose!”

Kimmo Kuusniemi, Godfather of Finnish heavy metal, on Gentle Savage’s debut album “Midnight Waylay”: “Listening to Gentle Savage reminds me of Deep Purple! That’s not bad at all!”

“Midnight Waylay” Track List:

  1. Karelian Magic
  2. Personal Hades
  3. YNAMW
    (You Never ask Me Why)
  4. Into The Abyss
  5. Honey Bunny
  6. After All
  7. Run Run Poor Boy
  8. Livin’ It Up
  9. Carry The Fire

Tornado stated on the album coverart:
“TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY
Isn’t it strange that when you get something really big done you are at the same time relieved and a bit confused?! That’s how it feels like right now.
The cover art was created by our friend, graphic art wizard Vin Valentino. Vin and vocalist Tornado created the Midnight Waylay world based on Tornado’s visions of a Rock Band descending down to earth using a ‘stairway to heaven’. That’s Tornado’s way of showing his gratitude to the old great ones who showed the Rock’n Roll way for latter generations to roll. “

More on STEREO TRAGEDY:

Stereo Tragedy was birthed 4 July 2019 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, after Jacob Bibee (guitarist, former Sever Your Ties) had a conversation reminiscing of the olden days in the metal scene with James “jimbo” Thomas. Following that conversation, another conversation was had with Amanda, Jacob’s wife, and it was evident that it was time for Jacob to make his reemergence into the music world after a 15 year hiatus.

After 6 months later, after many sleepless nights in the studio and intense composition trying to hone the correct sound for the band, the pandemic hit and the music industry essentially shut down. Jacob being solution oriented, decided to find a way that this whole world meltdown could be beneficial, and that’s when it happened.

Jacob noticed the infamous Bjorn “Speed” Strid post on social media that his bands (Soilwork, Donna Cannone, The Night Flight Orchestra) would no longer be touring for the foreseeable future. Jacob knew that Bjorn had often done guest appearances for bands, but Jacob decided to push the idea of Bjorn actually doing the entire album. After hearing a few songs, Bjorn agreed to do the album as a guest appearance, not as a permanent member, as he is completely busy and in step with his many great projects.

As the project began to unfold, it was time to bring in trusted and respected members into the fold. Jacob then contacted none other than Matt Cohen (bassist, NEW LANGUAGE) and Ryan Severino (drummer, former Scars Of Tomorrow). This was a very easy decision to contact these two as Jacob and Ryan played in a band in South Orange County, CA in the early 2000s, and Matt Cohen’s old bands used to share the stage with Jacob and Ryans bands back then as well.

With the agreement of Matt and Ryan to come on board, and a complete shutdown in Jacobs business ventures due in part to Covid-19, Jacob packed his bags and headed back to his great state of California to be closer to Matt and Ryan in Southern California.

The self-titled debut album was completed in Spring of 2021 and was mixed and mastered by none other than Thomas “Plec” Johansson of The Panic Room in Sweden. The album is set to release late summer 2021.

Once the album has been released, the band will then fill and announce the members of the two remaining roles: vocalist and guitarist.

DAVY KNOWLES Releases New Single & Lyric Video ‘Roll Me’

Singer-Songwriter and Guitarist DAVY KNOWLES has released “Roll Me,” new single from ‘What Happens Next,’ out 10/22 via Provogue.

“Roll Me is a song that my producer Eric Corne had written and brought to me,” Knowles recalls. “I as soon as I heard it, I related to it and knew I wanted to record it. It’s a song about loss, something we have both had our fair share of experience with. Musically, I loved the soul feel he had, a genre I have been such a massive fan of for so long, but haven’t dipped my toes into on record. It was great to push myself out of my comfort zone and I couldn’t be more pleased with how it turned out.”

On the aptly-titled new album, Knowles boldly steps forward with timeless and cohesive songwriting; sleek modern production; and a lyrical, play-for-the-song guitar approach informed from soul, folk, rock, and blues. The 12-song album is just as influenced by The Black Keys, Fantastic Negrito, Gary Clark Jr., as it is Muddy Waters, Junior Kimbrough, and R.L. Burnside. It is a cohesive body of work rather than a collection of disparate songs. “When it came time to record this album, it was all about supporting the songs as opposed to ‘how quickly I can get to the guitar solo’,” the Isle of Man-born, Chicago-based artist says laughing. “I’m not a purist, and the way for roots music to stay relevant is to adapt and progress.”

Produced by Eric Corne (John Mayall, Joe Walsh, Joe Bonamassa), ‘What Happens Next’ something of a departure from Knowles’s fired-up and reverent take on blues and Americana, featuring poetic songwriting and soulfully emotive vocals that steal the show. The 12-song body of work offers forth a peaks-and-valleys album experience winding through brawny riffs, jazzy blues balladry, and vintage soul before concluding with one of Knowles’s most personal songs released to date. Throughout it all, his guitar playing is brilliantly understated, his rhythm work is deft and dynamic. The album bursts open with, “Light Of The Moon,” a swaggering riff-rocker replete with vibey 1960s organ flourishes, hooky minor-tinged refrains, and impassioned soul-drenched vocals. Here, Davy’s lead breaks drip sustain, vibrato, and sublime bluesy melodicism.

Knowles first burst onto the scene at the age of 20 with his band Back Door Slam, garnering rave reviews, making national US television appearances (Jimmy Kimmel Live, Good Morning America), earning extensive triple-A radio airplay, and achieving two Top 5 Billboard Blues charting albums. Since then he has been solo, and he independently released two more studio albums, 2014’s The Outsider and 2016’s Three Miles From Avalon, which also hit the Top 5 on the Billboard Blues chart. He’s earned plum endorsements from D’Addario strings, PRS guitars, Bludotone amps, and Celestion speakers, became the first musician in history to play live directly to the International Space Station from Mission Control in Houston, and held his own sharing the stage with such heavyweight artists as The Who, Jeff Beck, Gov’t Mule, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kid Rock, Joe Bonamassa, Sonny Landreth, Peter Frampton, Joe Satriani, and Sammy Hagar, among many others.

Despite the songs on ‘What Happens Next’ featuring concise lead guitar playing, fans of Knowles’s fleet-fingered lead style fear not for the blues-rock fire still burns inside him. Knowles says: “This album taught me about restraint in terms of guitar playing. I had to reign it in to let the songs breathe, but I am looking forward to reimagining them and stretching out when we play live.”

SEPULTURA Announce ‘Sepulnation – The Studio Albums 1998 – 2009’ 8 LP Box Set + 5 CD Box Set, Out October 22nd

Despite being arguably Brazil’s biggest ever music export, when extreme metal legends SEPULTURA lost their original frontman and founder (alongside brother and drummer Iggor Cavalera) Max Cavalera in 1996 after their hugely influential ‘Roots’ album, many thought the band would not recover from his departure. However, in Cleveland, Ohio punk and hardcore scene veteran Derrick Green, Sepultura found a formidable, towering force that would lead the band with power and conviction through this new era of their career.

‘Sepulnation – The Studio Albums 1998 – 2009’, released through BMG on October 22nd, celebrates the bands seconds phase, and this five-album boxset (across eight slabs of vinyl or five CDs) contains the albums; Against, Nation, Roorback, Dante XXI and A-Lex, all of which are half speed cut, remastered and back on 180g vinyl for the first time in a decade and also as a collector’s CD box.

In addition, the ‘Roorback’ album features the rare ‘Revolusongs’ EP, which is available for the first time digitally and saw the band celebrate their influences with covers of bands as musically broad as Devo, Exodus, U2 and Massive Attack!

You can watch a new video of their version of Public Enemy’s ‘Black Steel In The Hour Of Chaos’ from the ‘Revolusongs’ EP, available to stream and download on the pre-order link HERE

Any fans who feared that this new line-up of Sepultura would see the band taming their intense and heavy approach were not left disappointed when ‘Against’ came out of the traps in 1998. With the powerhouse that is Iggor Cavalera still on drums (he remained for four of the five albums), Andreas Kisser’s grinding guitars and bassist Paula Jr’s heavy bottom end powered behind Derrick Green’s guttural roar and Sepultura sounded heavier and more forceful than ever. This period would see the band continue to push their sound forward and challenge new sounds and styles, but they never lost sight of what was the core of the band. The righteous, rebellious nature remained with the 1998 album ‘Nation’ calling for ‘one nation, Sepulnation,’ – a rallying cry that stayed with the band throughout their long and challenging career.

‘Sepulnation – The Studio Albums 1998-2009’ brings the focus back on a period of the band that may have been missed by early supporters and shows that the fire continued to burn bright throughout.

“It’s an honor and privilege to be a part of Sepultura’s history,” states frontman Derrick Green.

“I’m proud of all the work we have done together and it only makes sense to have this box set format released for the fans to have the complete history of Sepultura. Long live the Sepulnation!”
