AMOTH – Ft. Ensiferum’s Pekka Montin – Post New Lyric Video ‘It Aint’ Over Yet’

Finland’s AMOTH featuring Pekka Montin of Ensiferum on vocals are sharing their second single “It Aint’s Over Yet” off their forthcoming album “The Hour Of The Wolf” due out on January 28, 2022.

“This is a full-scale thrash attack with no mercy! This is about school bullying or bullying in general. We are totally against bullying! Unfortunately, it’s a thing that’s going on all around the world. Remember if you’re a bully that it may be over for you but it ain’t over for the victim. Things might get ugly if the bullied person decides to retaliate…” adds the band.

Spotify – https://spoti.fi/3cOp2y1

Amoth is a melodic progressive heavy metal band from Helsinki, Finland. Their third studio album “The Hour Of The Wolf” is a huge leap forward compared to their previous recordings “Revenge” (2016), “Crossing Over” (2011), “Wounded Faith (EP) (2008).

“This is by far our best album yet! Superior performances from all of the musicians. Much better production and songwriting. It’s not a fast-food album. Some of the songs are quite complex so it takes probably more than one listen to really get into!” comments Amoth guitarist and main songwriter Tomi Ihanamäki.

Amoth’s roots are strongly founded on 80’s heavy metal, but branch out in different directions with elements from progressive rock, thrash, and even jazz brought to the table.

The new album features Pekka Montin of Ensiferum once again as the lead vocalist and for the first time, there are also keyboards on an Amoth recording. Fans can expect insane vocals and virtuoso-like playing from all members of the band. The nine songs are very diverse, taking sudden twists and turns into unexplored territory. Amoth even offers up two Steve Vai / Joe Satriani-style instrumentals on this new full-length with tracks “Wind Serenade Part I” and “Wind Serenade Part II”.

Amoth‘s new album “The Hour of The Wolf” is recommended for fans of Iron Maiden, King Diamond, Testament, Megadeth, Joe Satriani.

KOSMODOME Reveal New Single ‘Deadbeat’ From Upcoming Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on November 28, 2021

With just under two weeks left before the debut full-length from Prog Rockers KOSMODOME is set to hit the streets, Karisma Records  has today released the third, and final, single to be taken from the self-titled album of a band that fans are quickly discovering are prime exponents of energetic, catchy and soulful alternative rock.

The new single, titled “Deadbeat” could almost a described as a paean to those men who are at best described by modern society as “drifters”, and at worst, “losers”, as the band explains:

Throughout their whole adult lives these men have been made to feel like failures because they have not lived up to the expectations of having their lives in order.  Whilst their peers seem to have their own self-realization and independent lives under control, the self-destructive behaviour of these “drifters” causes them to stumble along in the dark.  Eventually they end up on the outer edges of society where life can be too chaotic to handle, making them increasingly vulnerable and helpless.

“Deadbeat” can be streamed or downloaded from various services at THIS location.

Originally formed by brothers Sturle (guitars and vocals) and Severin Sandvik (drums), KOSMODOME recently added Magnus Magnussen on bass and Erlend Nord on guitar in order to bring the band’s riff-based Rock sound, with its distinctive Stoner elements and progressive nuances, to a live audience.

But it is the clever writing by the two brothers that singles out the band, and their debut album “Kosmodome”,  as being able to bridge the gap between creating music that has an explosive drive, whilst, at the same time, still being able to sound melodic.

The intention behind the album, is, as the band explains to:

Draw listeners into the “Kosmodome”, in all its diversity. Throughout the album, we dwell in the melodic and the groovy; a baseline for deep dives into massive, heavy soundscapes and spacey atmospheres. Instrumental sections are central to our musical storytelling, further supported by our lyrical themes; introspection and wonder, ruminations on the human condition, and frustrations toward contemporary society.

With artwork by Mirkow Gastow, track listing for “Kosmodome” is as follows:

  1. Enter the Dome
  2. Retrograde
  3. Hypersonic
  4. Deadbeat
  5. Waver I
  6. Waver II
  7. The 1 %
  8. Orbit

“Kosmodome”, will be available on the 10th December in, CD Digital and Limited Edition Green and Black marbled vinyl and is now available to pre order from:

MIDNIGHT Re-Issue Three Classic Albums, US And European 2022 Tours Announced

Posted by tarjavirmakari on November 28, 2021
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Midnight. Leave a comment

There’s no dawn for MIDNIGHT, and Metal Blade Records is proud to announce the re-issue pressings of the thrashers three classic albums – No Mercy For Mayhem (2014), Sweet Death and Ecstasy (2017) – both available today – and Satanic Royalty (2011) – available December 10th, 2021*. Each album comes in a variety of limited -edition colored vinyl and can be found at the links below, and at the band’s store. *availability will vary by store.

US – https://www.indiemerch.com/metalbladerecords/band/midnight
EU – https://eu.kingsroadmerch.com/metal-blade/artist/977
Band Store – https://midnight-ohio.bandcamp.com/merch

No Mercy for Mayhem is an intensification of everything its predecessor seemingly perfected: the hooks even more anthemic, the power more piledriving, the dirt dirtier, the sum effect being absolute blackout.

Continuing their underground dominance with their massively anticipated third album, Sweet Death and Ecstasy, Athenar and co. return with their darkest and most daring effort yet.

Satanic Royalty is both a distillation of first-wave black metal magic and an extension into harder-rocking territories rampant with lust, filth, and sleaze.

MIDNIGHT take their mainline classic heavy metal, hard-charging punk rock, and grimy rock ‘n’ roll to the streets of North America as part of “The Sanguine Sodomy of North America Tour” supporting black metal legends MAYHEM and WATAIN. In May 2022, the band return to European audiences with NIGHT DEMON.

SPIRITWORLD Premiere ‘Unholy Passages’ Video, Announce Tour for February 2022

Self-described as “Death Western,” SPIRITWORLD are also the aural vision quest of Stu Folsom , a Las Vegas native who has taken the intensity of that blasted desert heat and given it a voice on the band’s debut Pagan Rhythms.

The record was dubbed “a blistering piece of pure evil” by Stereogum, while Brooklyn Vegan called it “a vicious, whiplash-inducing racket.” Loudwire praised it for “bringing strong rock ‘n’ roll vibes to a sound that’s seriously heavier and hardcore-inflected, predicated on an elbow-swinging rhythm and a bit of a dusty road flair alongside a gravely vocal bark.”

Pagan Rhythms wasre-released on November 5th and is now available physically for the first time outside of North America. Get it here.

SpiritWorld have premiered the video for “Unholy Passages” over at Decibel. Watch it HERE!

“‘Unholy Passages’ is the JAM!,” says Folsom. “If I could pick one song off of Pagan Rhythms to show people, this is it. 270 BPM of hella nasty riff vomit!!! Just when you think, ‘Okay, this song fucks, I’m diggin’ it…,’  it drops another banger riff on you. It’s even got the Hellraiser, ‘Do I look like I care what God thinks?’ breakdown sprinkled with some field recordings of a monsoon season thunderstorm I recorded on my cell phone to top it off!”

He continues, “When I made the visualizer for it, everything was still on lockdown, so a real video was out of the question. I knew I needed something striking to compliment the song, so I pivoted down the rabbit hole of archival footage sourcing old rodeo footage, go-go dancers, and occult rituals. Enjoy!”

SpiritWorld are releasing an exclusive, bone-colored vinyl version of Pagan Rhythms with alternate artwork via Decibel’s site. It arrives on April 22, 2022 and celebrates the band’s appearance at the Decibel Metal & Beer Fest in Los Angeles, set for December 10 and 11, and on the Decibel Magazine tour this coming winter.

PAGAN RHYTHMS TRACK LISTING:
“Pagan Rhythms”
“The Bringer of Light”
“Unholy Passages”
“Night Terrors”
“The Demon Storm”
“Armageddon Honkytonk & Saloon”
“Godless”
“Comancheria”
“Ritual Human Sacrifice”

Conceived entirely by Folsom and produced by Sam Pura (The Story So Far, Self Defense Family), songs like “Comancheria” or the blast-beat propelled “Unholy Passages,” courtesy of drummer Thomas Pridgen (The Mars Volta/Trash Talk) who plays on half the album with ex-Apiary skinsman Adam Elliot playing on the other, are unforgettable.

“It’s about trying to write killer songs and craft a classic record,” says Folsom, whose love for the likes of George Jones or the legendary L.A. punk band X runs as deep as his metallic roots. “With Pagan Rhythms , I set out to distill my love of thrash, old school death metal, and hardcore into something new that would hit like a tomahawk right in the face. When I first started telling people about this idea I had to merge Western imagery, horror fiction, and heavy metal into an all-out sonic assault, it seemed ridiculous. But I truly believe that if you make great records, people are a lot more willing to embrace your weirdness and come along for the ride.”

SPIRITWORLD ARE:
Stu Folsom — Vocals
