The wait is over! The newest addition to the HYPOCRISY catalog, WORSHIP, is released via Nuclear Blast Records. The band offers fans the music video for the title track “Worship”. Watch the video which was drawn and animated by Costin Chioreanu and includes performance footage shot and edited by Tommy Jones, below.
Peter Tägtgren comments, “Finally the time is here, our new album in 8 years. We’re very proud and happy with the result. Hope you all enjoy it.“
It has been 8 long years since the last record, and HYPOCRISY fans can feel the itch. WORSHIP is 11 tracks of precise, ferocious musicianship. Commonly inspired by the fusion of the modern and the ancient, HYPOCRISY has once more found a way to combine innovative ideas with classic sound in order to deliver something metalheads can enjoyably consume with awe and brutal vigor. As usual, all recording and mixing took place at Tägtgren’s Abyss Studio AB in Sweden while mastering was completed by Svante Forsbäck at Chartmakers Audio Mastering. Designed by artist Blake Armstrong (KATAKLYSM, IN FLAMES, CARNIFEX, etc.), WORSHIP’s artwork speaks to the history of the relationship between humanity and extraterrestrials.
Award-winning South African blues rock guitarist DAN PATLANSKY will release his new studio album Shelter of Bones via Virgin Music Label and Artist Services on 25th February 2022. The album is available to pre-order from https://DanPatlansky.lnk.to/ShelterofBonesSo.
The first single Hounds Loose taken from the new album, released Friday 26th November 2021, is available to stream/download from https://DanPatlansky.lnk.to/HoundsLooseSo.
Shelter of Bones was recorded over a three-year period from 2019-2021. “The pandemic allowed me to take my time, and really think about how I want the songs to come across,” reflects Patlansky.
“In many ways I tried to keep the sound from past albums that I’ve become known for in my arrangements and song writing, but definitely took some different turns along the way. I’ve always seen a record as a time capsule of where an artist is in a particular time of their lives.”
For Patlansky, Shelter of Bones covers a three- year period of many ups and downs, and, as a result, the South African guitarist believes the process has been a very interesting journey.
“My goal is always to try make a record that I would want to listen to,” says Patlansky. “I’m very happy and proud of this album. I produced it myself because I wanted a very particular sound. On three of the tracks, I enlisted a good friend and ex-keyboard player from Hamburg, Tom Gatza, who brought a fresh feel to these songs, especially the ballads (I’ll Keep Trying and Shelter of Bones).”
“Shelter of Bones is an accurate representation of who I am currently as an artist, which is a modern twist on what I love most, the Blues.”

ALBUM TRACK BY TRACK
SOUL PARASITE Commentary on the soul destroyers that run the modern world. This to me is the biggest problem facing society in general. It doesn’t matter what political side you fall under. I see most current day leaders as two faced, and in it for mostly personal gain. The sole purpose of a leader is to serve in the best interest of the people. That mind set as been completely diluted over the last century.
SNAKE OIL CITY A fictional place where liars, thieves, chancers reside. It is strikingly like the current South African government. It currently feels like there is very little law and order, tax money is being pocketed, corruption is rife, and if you have enough money, you can basically get away with any crime imaginable. When it comes to writing blues songs, South Africa is sadly a bottomless source of subject matter to write about.
SELFISH LOVER A true story about my relationship with tobacco, and finally trying to say goodbye to something that has been such a huge part of my life. I’ve always seen tobacco as a selfish lover because it really gives absolutely nothing back to you, just a false sense of enjoyment and relief, but even knowing that it still feels like a friend that been through thick and thin with me.
LOST There was a time a while back when my wife Gisela fell ill and the doctors thought the worst, luckily everything turned out great in the end, but it was a very scary and uncertain time, and the song expresses the absolute turmoil I was feeling.
BAD SOUL Some people are just born bad and can’t be changed. I grew up and got to know some people that seemed to just possess a bad streak in them, and no matter how hard people tried to steer them in a different direction, they would just end up being ‘bad ass’s’ in everything thing they did.
PRESENCE We spend most of our lives either living in the past or the future and not enough time in the present. It a lesson I learnt the hard way and lost a lot of ground in my life by obsessing in the past and the future. My kids helped ground me, and they made me realise the power of living in the present.
I’LL KEEP TRYING A song about my personal flaws and the effect it has on my relationship with my wife, and the will to improve myself. Taking a hard look in the mirror and identifying one’s short comings is an incredibly hard task to perform, but the personal growth from the exercise is huge! Constant improvement all round is one of my biggest goals in life.
DEVIL’S DOPAMINE Modern societies addiction and reliance on the digital world is alarming to me. Back in the day only true experts would be granted a platform to voice their educated opinions on topics and issues in the fields of expertise. Nowadays anyone with an opinion can be heard depending on their social media reach. It very hard to believe anything on the internet these days.
SWEET MEMORIES As hard as lock down was, we will one day look back on it as some of the most special times of our lives because of the time we all got to spend with our families. There’s a silver lining to everything. In the past I’ve spent a lot of time on the road, away from my family, and have missed so many milestones because of it. The last 2 years I’ve really been blessed to have the opportunity to make up for lost time.
HOUNDS LOOSE The Blues cliche tale of selling your soul to the devil. Now he is coming to claim what is his. I’ve always been fascinated about the story of Robert Johnson and other blues men that sold their souls.
SHELTER OF BONES A message of advice and concern to my kids on what they can expect growing up in today’s world. One of my biggest fears is what the world will do to my kids as they grow up. I thought it fitting to be the title track on the album, because all the songs on this record could be bits of advice to my kids going forward. “It’s like my heart is beating without the shelter of bones.”

Great events cast their shadows ahead! CORVUS CORAX are back with another single of their metal offshoot ERA METALLUM and herald the countdown to the upcoming album of the same name in June 2022:
“SVERKER”, already as the title track of the eponymous 2011 success album with over 8 million plays on Spotify THE long-running hit of the medieval pioneers from Berlin, now appears in the “Era Metallum”-typical garb.
Mighty male choirs and powerful walls of guitars by SAMI YLI-SIRNIÖ, a full-time member of KREATOR and WALTARI, give the metallic version of the song the decisive shove of pressure and playing technique that make ERA METALLUM a unique and incomparable symbiosis of the Corvus Corax-typical Nordic epics and metal.
The video clip for “CORVUS CORAX ERA METALLUM – Sverker” was directed by ANDREAS MARSCHALL – known for horror movies like “Tears of Kali” and “German Angst” as well as music video director for well-known genre representatives like KREATOR, SODOM or MOONSPELL – as a nightmarish vision of an impending war of the Swedish king Sverker.
The digital single “CORVUS CORAX ERA METALLUM – Sverker” was released on 26.11.21 on all major platforms. The video clip premiered on the same day on the band’s YouTube channel.

Finnish crossover pioneers WALTARI are releasing their anniversary album “3rd Decade – Anniversary Edition” (Metalville / Rough Trade) today.
To mark the occasion, the band also presents the official lyric video for “So Fine 2021” feat. Kevin Ridley (Skyclad), Youth Choirs Sykkii and n.u.k.u.
Kevin Ridley says about the song:
“I think that the first time I heard Waltari was about 20 years ago, when a friend of the band (Skyclad) gave me some of the then new fangled MP3s which included some Waltari songs. I remember thinking the songs were diverse and they seemed to mash up different musical genres. “Eclectic” is the word that came to mind. So, I was more than a little surprised when, 20 years later, l was contacted by Kartsy and asked to contribute some vocals for the song ‘So Fine’. What I particularly like about this track is the way it switches between the quirky female vocal section and the heavy chorus line. It’s a neat transition and very Waltari.”
Kärtsy Hatakka comments:
“The iconic “So Fine” hit from 1994, updated now with the 2 Finnish children school choirs “Sykkii” and “n.u.k.u” and Kevin Ridley from “Skyclad”. A bit more of a rocky version now was in the program, just to make it sound more bandlike. Fingers in your heavy position, and ready for a MoshDance!!”
For “3rd Decade – The Anniversary Edition”, the group revisited material from all their creative phases, choosing some of their finest songs to give them an overhaul with the help of like-minded musicians from every stripe. Waltari let their guests shine instead of stepping into the spotlight themselves.
Afraid of nothing but stagnation, the band once again proves that it can still live up to the original crossover ethos at any time, experimenting and finding new alleys to sneak into, all the while honouring its legacy with one eye looking ahead into an exciting future.

FORGERY SYSTEM‘s new single Blade Of Ashes’ represents the cut between what has been, now extinct, and what will be seen in the future.
Blade Of Ashes’ is the set of influences that have formed FORGERY SYSTEM; The band’s focus is on TRIVIUM and other influences ranging from BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE to KILLSWITCH ENGAGE.
An ensemble that could come to the attention of a diverse audience. In these four minutes of song we find what a metal audience would like to hear; This includes breakdowns and clear heavy guitar riffs, drum fills that anticipate some of the hardest moments in the song.
Voices alternating from a nice scratch, to scream, to clean parts, to the overlap of the two voices that make the vocal part even more massive. The guitar solo closes this concentration of influences as heavily as possible. “BLADE OF ASHES” is a complete song, written by a band that demonstrates their desire to grow and have their say in the emerging metal scene.
Forgery System is an Italian heavy metal band formed in Pavia in 2012. The band consists of lead guitarist Gabriele Orlando, bassist and vocalist Pablo Dara, lead Guitarist Daniele Maggi, and drummer Federico Fava.
After experimenting with different stylistic solutions with their first album Distorted Visions, the group changed their sound with the EP Demons Among Us and the subsequent single “Lost Embers” to a more modern sound.
After the last release of “LOST EMBERS” in 2020 FORGERY SYSTEM close a cycle to open a new one with new music, a new image, and new energy. “BLADE OF ASHES” is theie latest work, where the band shows itself in a new way by showcasing what the’ve done in a period where live shows were impossible. The real rebirth came as restrictions were loosened, and a return to normality seemed imminent.
