THE SCREAMING JETS have announced a delay in the release of the 30 Year Anniversary Edition of their groundbreaking debut album ALL FOR ONE. The release date will now be October 22, 2021.

Accompanying this change is the rescheduling of all current tour dates, into 2022, with new dates to be advised in due course.

Both changes are unavoidable given the current status of border restrictions and Covid lockdowns across Australia. All album pre-orders and tickets will remain valid for these new dates.

The band has sent the following message to fans via social media:

Unfortunately, for all the obvious reasons, we are going to have to postpone our 30th Anniversary tour and album release.  We will come back to you with new tour dates as soon as we can – there are a lot of great people working on how we can deliver this tour for you in the best way possible. But we’re not the only band suffering in this instance so please give us a moment to work through it, while we all work together to keep Aussie music live. The covid situation is also impacting on the production of the physical version of the album so we need to move its release date to October 22nd to – so we can deliver it to you direct on vinyl or CD to allow you to play it loud and proud.

If you’re ordered the album and a ticket -don’t worry we’ve got you. The album will be sent out week of release still and your ticket will move to the rescheduled date.

Thanks for supporting us – we would love to show how much we appreciate you – we will soon when we can see you again hot and sweaty in a venue!

In 1990 five blokes from Newcastle called The Screaming Jets took the Aussie music scene by the scruff of the neck and gave a red hot shake.

Before they had even signed their first record deal with rooArt Records, the Screaming Jets had already clocked up more than 200 live shows, won the ‘Triple J Battle Of The Bands’ competition and established themselves as an onstage, no holds barred, powerhouse of Aussie rock n roll.

At the time the hard rock music bible ‘Kerrang’ described front man Dave Gleeson as “a tattooed madman, hell on heels, he leaps around the stage like an epileptic in a minefield: a real horror show cross between Alex from Clockwork Orange and, in part, Mike Patton. Between songs his patter is a hilarious cocktail of equal parts vitriol and obscenity”.

In 1991 they released their debut album ‘All For One’, which peaked at #2 on the ARIA charts. The second single from the album, ‘Better’ was the song that introduced the band to the world, and saw The Screaming Jets embark on their first world tour – to Europe, UK, USA and Canada.

“For a bloke from Cardiff, who’d spent a few years touring round Australia, to find himself on the other side of the world sharing the stage with the likes of Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, INXS, and yes, even a band room with Spinal Tap was something beyond my wildest imagination” says Dave Gleeson.

Flash forward to 2021 and as a 30th year anniversary celebration, and a tip of the hat to where it all began, the current line-up has rerecorded the ‘All For One’ album with a fresh new take. Overseen by original producer, Steve James, the album has been repackaged with new artwork with a clear reference to the original.

Dave Gleeson says of the recording process: “The plan was always to re-record the album for this milestone. We just didn’t realise we’d be recording under these circumstances. One of the things that we’ve always loved about the recording studio is that it’s a bunch of blokes, locked away in our own world creating and mucking on.  Obviously that option wasn’t open to us due to Covid, so we had to do it like the kids do. Our producer Steve James pulled it all together and because we weren’t messing around with arrangements it all went down very quickly and painlessly.”

The relentless touring that followed the initial album release saw The Jets tour with iconic bands like The Angels, The Choirboys and Divinyls as well as headlining their own tours, and building a die-hard live fan base across Australia and the world. Fast forward 30 years and The Jets are ready to celebrate the anniversary of the album that started it all with a national tour. The band will perform ‘All For One’ in its entirety from start to finish for the very first time.

“It’s nice to revisit some of those songs. A bunch of them we still play live to this day, but during the re-recording of some of the songs we haven’t done for a while…wow, the memories just come flooding back and hopefully it’ll be the same for our loyal fans. This tour may even bring people out who haven’t seen us for a while. Maybe there will be people there to judge whether we are the same as 30 years ago. Maybe they’ll think we are better. We haven’t toured together for 18 months – so it’ll be like a rebirth…which could get messy!” ” says Dave Gleeson

IF NOTHING IS Reveal New Single ‘Darkspace Navigator’ From Upcoming Album

Dark Essence Records have today revealed a new single, taken from the much-anticipated re-release of the 2015 self-titled debut full-length album from IF NOTHING IS, the brainchild of DØDHEIMSGARD bassist Lars Emil Måløy.

The single, “Darkspace Navigator”, can be downloaded or streamed from a variety of services at this location.

t is a track about which the band had this to say:

The lyrics of Darkspace Navigator tell  of a deity that exists in the void between dimensions. An entity that causes  various paranormal phenomena to occur when it chooses to interfere with our world. On the musical side of things this track covers a lot of ground. Starting off with an electro-acoustic section, followed by fast metal parts, groovy stuff, tapping, slapping, beats, cramp inducing chords, and so on. Give it a spin!

Despite its pedigree, the album’s original release passed by largely unnoticed due to it having  only been available through a limited selection of digital platforms. But, on the  10th September, Dark Essence Records intend to bring to light this gem of an album that embodies everything that  lies at the heart of extreme and technical metal music.

Having been  completely  re-mixed and re-mastered, “If Nothing Is” ranges from thrash, speed and death, to black metal, melding sharp technical skills and creative songwriting with a keen eye for detail and a streak of madness.

IF NOTHING IS’ lineup of Boeddelen on vocals and lyrics, Håkon Grytvik and Mats Stenberg on guitars,  Lars Emil Måløy on  bass, FX, backing vocals, lyrics, main composer and Vegard Myrdal Berg on drums, backing vocals and lyrics, have been joined by  DØDHEIMSGARD’s Vicotnik on synths, beats and samples, and have come up with an album where each song is a journey in itself, replete with intersecting passages that are progressive and experimental,  along with rich jazzy parts.

With new original artwork by Ulf Simon Lindgren “If Nothing Is”  will be available in a CD and a gatefold clear transparent double LP versions  for the first time ever, as well as digitally.  Track listing as follows:

1. 101
2. Sovereign
3. Juvenihil
4. Anti Horde
5. Dominant Outlaw Nation
6. Postapo Calypso
7. Darkspace Navigator
8. Intermezzanine

EARTHSIDE Release Epic Video for ‘All We Knew And Ever Loved’

When an artist resurfaces after years spent in creative immersion, whatever they return with needs to make a statement. This is even more the case when said artist is following up a debut as heavily acclaimed as 2015’s A Dream In Static—a work widely regarded as one of the finest, most attention-seizing debut albums in recent rock and metal music.

Cinematic rock collective EARTHSIDE finds themselves squarely in this unenviable position—however, if one song alone could make that critical impression—speaking to the moment, and leaving that heavy feeling of awe churning in the listener’s chest, “All We Knew And Ever Loved” would be that song.

Watch the epic video for All We Knew And Ever Loved here:

In conjunction with their signing to Music Theories Recordings/Mascot Label Group, Earthside returns to the spotlight in the most monumental of fashions. The culmination of years of feverish planning, recording, and detail obsessing, “All We Knew And Ever Loved” offers the first window into the gripping next chapter of the band’s collective story—and the grim scene that awaits humanity in the absence of change.

Sacramone began writing the song in 2017 to the setting of bleak, rainy March weather and the second season of True Detective. “The goal was to be as brute force as possible—to use the most powerful combination of instruments to create a very ambitious aural rendition of humanity fighting itself and sinking,” Sacramone says. “And also as an artist—to put your money where your mouth is; if you want to write something that is about a topic this significant, the music has to live up to it and it needs to be as dramatic as possible; it needs to be devastating.”

Through the positively apocalyptic sounds of one of the largest pipe organs in the world (recorded at the First Congregational Church in Los Angeles) and an earth-shaking mix courtesy of Randy Staub, known for mixing Metallica’s legendary symphonic live album, S&M, the effect isn’t merely devastating; it’s inescapable.

Earthside have also announced that the featured artist on the song is Baard Kolstad of the Norwegian Progressive metal act, Leprous, whom Earthside have previously toured with.

THE GEORGIA THUNDERBOLTS Release New Track ‘Can I Get A Witness’

THE GEORGIA THUNDERBOLTS have just unveiled a smoldering new track off their upcoming full-length, ‘Can We Get A Witness,’ out October 15th via Mascot Records/Mascot Label Group The song, “Can I Get A Witness,” represents “overcoming the obstacles in life,” vocalist TJ Lyle explains. “Everybody has their ups and downs, but it’s how you persevere and prosper through adversity that shows your true colors. ‘Can I Get A Witness’ is a statement that goes out to anyone who has the desire and faith in themselves and others to be successful.”

Ushering in a new generation of classic southern rock steeped in soul and the blues, The Georgia Thunderbolts have already been called “timeless” by American Songwriter, “your new favorite southern rock band” by Classic Rock, and proof that “southern rock continues to thrive in the 21st century” by Rolling Stone. “We’re going for that timeless and classic sound with a modern twist and newer attitude,” exclaims TJ. “We all grew up on rock music,” guitarist Riley Couzzourt adds. “If I could think of three words to describe us, they would be ‘Hardworking, Determined, and Humble.’” Drummer Bristol Perry grins, “If I could think of three words, they would be ‘Rock And Roll.’”

Whether it be on the banks of the Mississippi River or deep in the heart of the English countryside, rock ‘n’ roll lives, breathes, and burns on the outskirts. Hailing from Rome, GA at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, The Georgia Thunderbolts’ debut album features their scorching signature style steeped in soulful southern swagger, blistering blues, and raw rock. With a wide swath of inspirations, ranging from southern gospel and Hank Williams to Merle Haggard, Neil Young, Little Feat, Ozzy Osbourne, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, the band cut their teeth performing with everyone from The Allman Betts Band, and Blackberry Smoke to Kentucky Headhunters & Black Stone Cherry. Shortly after, they hit the iconic Barrick Recording Studio in Glasgow, KY to record with producer Richard Young.

The resulting album comprises thirteen undeniable anthems steeped in anthemic riffs, wild harmonica, and pulse-pounding drums. From the bluesy blend of “So You Wanna Change The World,” to “the first song we ever wrote,” the dynamic “Looking For An Old Friend,” The Georgia Thunderbolts rustle up a new era of rock ‘n’ roll, informed by their history in Rome, a town with a deep agricultural history. So when they sing, “Spirit of A Workin’ Man,” you better believe they mean it. “It’s got a deep lesson to it. You can’t knock down the little man,” TJ says.

There’s a message to what we’re doing,” Bristol says. “It’s okay to be yourself. If you’re going through hard times, the music will always be there. We’d love to remind everyone of that.” “Rock and roll is something that comes naturally for us,” Riley, Zach and Logan conclude. “We love it and are in it for the long haul. We feel like we can bring it back.”

AEON Reveal Details for New Album ‘God Ends Here’, Launch Lyric Video for First Single “Church of Horror”

On October 15th, AEON will release their new album, God Ends Here, via Metal Blade Records. For a first preview of the record, a lyric video for the new single, “Church of Horror”, can be viewed at: metalblade.com/aeon – where God Ends Here can be pre-ordered in various formats.

With 2012’s Aeons Black standing as one of the defining death metal albums of the twenty-first century, it has been a long wait for the follow up. In 2021, Sweden’s Aeon finally return with its successor, God Ends Here, and in doing so only up the ante with a record that is bigger, harder and stronger in every way. A darker, even more epic collection, it is everything an Aeon fan could want with a few surprises in store, pushing the genre in new directions, and once again asserting that they are one of the most important bands in extreme metal.

The main reason for the gap between records lies in finding the right drummer, having had a few pass through their ranks in the interim, Dark Funeral/Imperium drummer Janne Jaloma now manning the kit. Making his recording debut with the band is also bassist Tony Östman, who joined in 2013, during the touring cycle for Aeons Black. Guitarist Daniel Dlimi, who departed the Aeon fold in 2013, also returned to the band’s ranks in 2019, which inspired guitarist Zeb Nilsson to write, having really missed collaborating with him.

Drums were recorded in Jaloma’s own Studio Starköl, guitars and bass in the band’s own Rise to Dominate Studio, and the vocals were recorded at Metallfabriken Studio, where some guitar re-amping was also done. Producer Ronnie Björnström, who presided over Aeons Black, once again oversaw proceedings, making sure everything sounded as big as possible. Expanding the sonic palette are strings and choirs, the orchestral elements primarily programmed by Nilsson with Dlimi handling those on “Mephistopheles”, while Nilsson wrote the choir parts. With dramatic artwork by Italian artist Paolo Girardi the final piece of the puzzle, the finished package extends Aeon‘s legacy and gives the genre the push that was intended from the outset. They may have been gone a long time but make no mistake: Aeon are back, and God Ends Here will lay waste to all.
