The band wants to share their studio experience with their fans, releasing jam session studio vlog updates, now available Day 10.
The band stated: “We lost the place to work with this pandemic. It’s a concert or a tour. This pandemic stopped our band from gigging and touring. We decided to use the time we have now to create new music in the studio. We will share this studio experience with our fans over the coming months as a Vlog. We are also looking for a label to release this new album in Europe and Russia. We are still composing the songs so there are jam sessions to help us to compose the final songs. The plan is to have this album out 2022. We are looking forward to see you all very soon live!”
Tokyo’s Thrash Heroes SURVIVE – active in the world for over 20 years – have forged their own indelible path within the jmetal scene. Still going strong, SURVIVE‘s latest album “Immortal Warriors” was released to the Japanese market on September 12th, 2018 and a year later, on September 24th 2019, the album is out worldwide via Sliptrick Records. “After 15 years of silence, TONY MARTIN roars back with a fiery new song and disturbing lyric video that is quite fitting given these dark ages. This first taste of Thorns sees the legendary BLACK SABBATH singer at the top of his game, a wicked wizard weaving his spell with seductive sonic mastery.” — Metal Tim Henderson, BraveWords.com
Talking about the new album Tony had this to say, “This new album is probably the most “Tony Martin” a Tony Martin album has ever sounded!! It’s got several surprises that will lift people’s eyebrows I am sure. Largely, but not entirely based around the riffs of Scott McClellan, new to the world scene he has proved to be a worthy partner in crime for this release… I was able to make some great songs out of the riffs he was coming up with which is very similar in the writing sense to that which I experienced with Tony Iommi. Different sound and style but the riffing talent that someone like Scott has is very cool.
It is diverse, melodic, powerful, thought provoking and of a standard high as ever i have worked on. I believe there are stories still to tell, songs still to be sung and with this album I feel it’s achieved everything I could have wished for.
Grateful to the people who have given their extra talents in appearances on this recording, it’s been a challenge in COVID lockdown, getting everyone’s performances from across the world, but in another way it was a perfect opportunity to get it done.”
Tony Martin, is an English heavy metal vocalist, best known for his time fronting Black Sabbath, initially from 1987 to 1991 and again from 1993 to 1996. In 2004 three musicians from Turin – Gianluca Rindone (guitar), Jari Bezzolato (bass) and Andrea Ramondetti (drum) – found Skyline, a modern rock band which arises with the purpose to play a modern and melodic rock, influenced by alternative sounds and music that come from American world and beyond. In 2010 The Other Words arises, the first album of the band, which inaugurates a lucky series of concerts in the underground circuit. When the next album Nowhere Here comes out in 2016, which has a discrete success in Turin music world, Skyline reinterpret the sounds of their last album in a more modern way. Even if over the years there have been some changes in the line-up of the band, his founding members never give up, and they compose a new album during the 2020 lockdown period: and then in 2021 a new project sees the light, Fiction or Reality?, in which the band explores modern rock sounds, switching between rock and melodic songs, in which digital overcomes analogue. To realize the new album, which marks a turning point and a renovation of the sounds compared to last albums, the band has also drawn on the collaboration of Christian Di Domenico, the voice of The Compromise, who has played an important role in the music soul of the band. The album has been recorded by Giovanni Cannarozzo (Phoenix Audio Producton Studio) and mastered by Andrea Fusini (Fusix Studio). The release of Fiction or Reality?, inaugurates the collaboration of the band with Volcano records.

Slovakia’s gothic doom/death metallers THALARION have teamed up with Metal Shock Finland, to premiere, for Finnish territory, their official video ‘Dead But Still In My Heart‘, which is the band’s first official video in the 30+ years of career. Being from a peripheral country such as Slovakia had the band always working in the underground and self-financing their own activities. Such is the approach to “Dead But Still In My Heart”, the focus track from the new album “Dying On The Scorched Plains”, which will be released on the same day as the video. It was self-produced by the band, showing exactly just how passionated, heart-felt and serious they take their musical endeavors.
Watch and enjoy “Dead But Still In My Heart” official video here:
In the metal specter, there are not many bands coming from Slovakia. The country lies, when it comes to extreme music, in the shadow of neighbors Czech Republic, Poland and even Ukraine and it’s perhaps a victim of being one of the smallest countries in Central Europe. This is exactly why THALARION well-known status in the death/doom metal international scene is all more extraordinary. As one of the most respected bands in the Slovak scene, with 31-year career spawn and five albums under their belt, the six-piece has it all to lead the local metal counter-attack and inspire a whole new generation of Slovakian bands. But it wasn’t all roses and butterflies for Thalarion in their path to this point.
In 2006, the band crumbled after a few of its key-members left the group due to lack of motivation and other life’s endeavors. Some of its elements continued active in the scene (in bands such as Constans Compromissum, Flashback To Future and Tublatanka), while vocalists Petronela Hederova and Juraj Thal Grezdo became well-known writers in Slovakia, releasing several books of romance (the former) and crime/thriller (the later).
“Dying On The Scorched Plains” it, thus, more than “just” a comeback album from Thalarion. It’s the return of the most representative band from a whole nation’s metal scene, with a line-up that has matured, gone through the motions and is now emerging with an album that reflects exactly that. Apart from the interesting lyrics that you’d be expecting from two vocalists that are well-known writers and an amazing production, the emotional weight of the ten tracks in the album show a little bit more depth than the usual death/doom metal nowadays. Adorned with superb arrangements, atmospheres and details of a band with a musical pallet that includes male and female vocals, keyboards and the solid weight of two guitars, “Dying On The Scorched Plains” is a death/doom metal collection of songs that can drown you, crush you and save you, respecting the legacy of t band with five albums released in 31 years and leading the way of the Slovak metal into the new decade.
“Dying On The Scorched Plains” is released in digital and CD formats by UPRISING! Records today, December 10th, 2021.
Line-up: Petronela Hederova: vocals Juraj Thal Grezdo: vocals Peter Bartakovic: rhythm, lead & acoustic guitars, bass Juraj Schlosser: rhythm & lead guitars Peter Schlosser: drums Peter Dvorak: keyboards
