Antwerp, Belgium-based deathrash metal band SCHIZOPHRENIA, who recently announced their upcoming debut album “Recollections Of The Insane” for February 17, have shared an official guitar playthrough video for their first single “Cranial Disintegration”. Featuring guitarists Romeo Promos Promopoulos and Marty Van Kerckhoven, the clip can be viewed here:

SCHIZOPHRENIA comments:
“Cranial Disintegration was the first single of our upcoming debut album Recollections Of The Insane. It’s one of our favourite tracks on the record and we can’t wait to play this banger live! The single & music video were received amazingly well by both old and new fans, so we definitely wanted to make a playthrough video for this track. It would be cool if it could inspire fans to pick up the guitar and to play this one along as it’s a lot of fun to play!“

With nine brand new tracks spanning over 43 minutes, the band’s upcoming album picks up where SCHIZOPHRENIA‘s 2020 -debut EP “Voices” left off, with going even further in every aspect, sometimes even flirting with some melodic Death/Black Metal influences! Morbid Angel, Demolition Hammer, Slayer, early Sepultura, Dissection, Death, At The Gates, Obituary, Bolt Thrower, Pestilence…if any of these bands already gets you going, then imagine a blend of all of them combined with SCHIZOPHRENIA’s unique and fresh interpretation of Extreme Metal!

ME AND THAT MAN Reunite with Original Singer John Porter for New Standalone Single + Video ‘Fight’

About four years ago, the paths of Behemoth mastermind Adam Nergal Darski and guitarist & rock musician John Porter fatefully crossed. In great contrast to his previous career, Nergal joined forces with Porter to bring a whole new project to life: ME AND THAT MAN. After the first album, the two founding fathers parted ways, and Nergal went on to continue ME AND THAT MAN as a solo project featuring various prominent guest artists.

Only a few days after the release of the new ME AND THAT MAN album, New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol.2 – and an incredible four years since the duo released their last track together – a brand new, standalone ME AND THAT MAN single, “Fight”, has surfaced featuring the nostalgic vocal contributions of John Porter!

Right from the very beginning, “Fight” takes no detours and promises groovy melodies, deep basslines, dirty guitars and snare hits that shoot straight into the listener’s mind. The spotlight shines on John Porter’s raspy, spitting lead vocals that summon up the old spirits of ME AND THAT MAN‘s origins. Both new fans and especially those who have been following along from the beginning can look forward to this collaboration!

Nergal on the collaboration:
“FIGHT”! Is a last minute endeavour ME AND THAT MAN committed with John Porter. This spontaneous collaboration was a reaction to the great vibes that were shared during our recent tour in Poland. While the lyrics themselves may not be positive and vital it captures John’s frustration towards all the bullshit we, the human race have been fed in the recent decade… It’s a straight up protest song! I love it!”

Watch the Video for “Fight” featuring John Porter HERE:

Adam Nergal Darski recently returned with dark folk/blues/Americana influenced solo project ME AND THAT MAN’s third full-length studio album, New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol.2. After the enticing debut, Songs of Love And Death (2017), and sophomore release, New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol.1, its sequel once again mirrors Nergal in a completely different light and provides a tremendous contrast to the extreme metal sounds of Behemoth.

Following the chart-topping part one of the album, ME AND THAT MAN now present whole new facets: Opening track “Black Hearse Cadillac”, featuring the vocals of Hank von Hell and guitar sorcery by Anders Odden, marks a sinister beginning to this infernal journey through dark desert soundscapes and evil lyricism. Driving “Under The Spell” (feat. Mary Goore) lives up to its title, at times evoking a spaghetti western-esque ambience. Songs like wicked “Witches Don’t Fall in Love” (feat. Kristoffer Rygg/Ulver), straight-to-the-head rocking “Blues & Cocaine” (feat. Michale Graves) and mysterious “Goodbye” – with a haunting yet powerful vocal attack by Alissa White-Gluz – showcase the record’s extensive variety and that there’s something unexpected lurking all throughout. This is further evident on songs like the soulful blues-rock ballad “Angel of Light” featuring the compelling voice of Myrkur, or insanely dynamic, uptempo outburst of “Got Your Tongue” feat. Chris Georgiadis (Turbowolf).

New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol.2 track listing:

  1. Black Hearse Cadillac (feat. Hank Von Hell, Anders Odden)
  2. Under the Spell (feat. Mary Goore)
  3. All Hope Has Gone (feat. Blaze Bayley, Gary Holt, Jeff Mantas Dunn)
  4. Witches Don’t Fall in Love (feat. Kristoffer Rygg)
  5. Losing My Blues (feat. Olve Abbath Eikemo, Frank The Baptist, Chris Holmes)
  6. Coldest Day in Hell (feat Ralf Gyllenhammar, Douglas Blair)
  7. Year of the Snake (feat. David Vincent)
  8. Blues & Cocaine (feat. Michale Graves)
  9. Silver Halide Echoes (feat. Randy Blythe)
  10. Goodbye (feat. Alissa White-Gluz, Devin Townsend)
  11. Angel of Light (feat. Myrkur)
  12. Got Your Tongue (feat. Chris Georgiadis)

SUPERLYNX Set To Release Six-Track Digital EP “Solstice”

Following on from the completion  of their third full-length album “Electric Temple” Norway’s SUPERLYNX, whose sound is a distinctive combination of  doom, psychedelic and meditative atmospheres suffused with heaviness and droning rock,  found themselves at somewhat of a loose end , falling prey, as did many, to the effects of the Pandemic on the live scene.

This led to SUPERLYNX embarking on the recording of “Solstice”, which was to become a six-track EP that contains both original material and covers, and which will be released in Digital format on Dark Essence Records on the 8th December.  As  the band explains:

After recording our third album “Electric Temple” in the middle of the pandemic there were almost no gigs to play and a lot of free time. We were not ready for a break from music and not quite ready to embark on a new album just yet. So for the love of playing and for the love of music we booked a studio weekend mid winter 2020 and recorded four cover songs.

These songs are musical gems to us and have had an influence on our own musical life in one way or another. We then put them together with two original songs from the “Electric Temple” sessions for which there had been no room on the album

After making three deeply personal and emotionally heavy albums,  some time out of our own heads playing music was a fun and refreshing experience. It was also a boost before starting the writing process for  our fourth album, which is just about to happen.

A teaser video for the “Solstice” EP can be seen below.

With the exception of the track “Cosmic Wave”, which was mixed by Marc Urselli, all the songs on “Solstice” have been recorded, mixed, produced and mastered by Ole Teigen at Crowtown Recordings.

The artwork for “Solstice” is by Pia Isaksen, and the tracklisting is as follows:

1.Born Too Late (Saint Vitus cover)
2. Spread Your Love (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club cover)
3. Something in the Way (Nirvana Cover)
4. Nature Boy (Nat King Cole / Eden Ahbez cover)
5. Reorbit
6. Cosmic Wave

Formed in 2013 by drummer Ole Teigen and bassist/vocalist Pia Isaksen, it had always been SUPERLYNX’s intention to remain a duo, but a meeting with guitarist Daniel Bakken, coupled with his performance during rehearsals, changed all that.  It was clear that he belonged in the band and SUPERLYNX became a fully-fledged trio.

A video by Joan Pope / Temple ov Saturn for the title track from SUPERLYNX’s album “Electric Temple”, which was released on Dark Essence Records in the Spring of 2021, can be seen at https://youtu.be/zphXNF_dUyU

German OIL Release Video for ‘Life Doesn’t Do’

The song “Life Doesn’t Do” is the latest release of the German hard rock band OIL. The power trio impresses with two great singers – drummer Marc Vetter and guitarist and frontman Gert Endres share vocals in this live version, recorded at the renowned WeLive Festival. Bassist Rainer Jauch, meanwhile, fascinates with virtuoso bass playing. Especially to be pointed out: Drummer Marc Vetter sings the chorus behind his drums with a distinctive voice, while Endres knows how to inspire alternately as a singer and with guitar solos.

The video for the song was made in the course of the film series “WeLive” (www.welive-festival.com) at the Schlachthof Lahr. The fascinating performance of the band was filmed with 10 cameras and later released as a concert film. The movie was directed by the Brothers Pirmin Styrnol and Maik Styrnol of punchline studio. The song “Life Doesn’t Do” is now available on YouTube.

FAREWELL TO FEAR Release New Single + Lyric Video ‘Falling’

U.S. Active Rockers FAREWELL TO FEAR recently returned armed with a new label and a cracking new single ‘Brainwashed’ which was released via Crusader Records / Golden Robot Records. ‘Brainwashed’ was their first new material in over 12 months and now have released another massive arena ready anthem in ‘Falling’, which is out now (with accompanying lyric video) on all digital platforms!

‘Falling’ touches on the downward spiral of depression and shows the perspective of a new generation trying to make sense of it all.  Everyone falls victim to darkness and depression; ‘Falling’ delivers the message that you are not alone and this feeling won’t last forever. The track features a powerful vocal melody, heavy riffs and duelling guitar harmonies on top of a thundering rhythm section with a slamming groove and massive production.

Listen/Buy ‘Falling‘ HERE

FAREWELL TO FEAR was born out of the huge black hole that mainstream rock radio left during the absence of super rock stars like Metallica, Alice in Chains and Soundgarden. The band revisits an era with big rock riffs, bigger choruses and huge anthems for a new generation of rockers. The bands cover of Rihanna’s ‘Diamonds’ has racked up nearly 2.5 Million Spotify streams.

Farewell to Fear’s first full-length album New Blood, produced by Brett Hestla (Creed, Dark New Day), generated an incredible three singles on Sirius XM’s Octane channel, a rare feat for an unknown band. As well as landing them at #1 on Amazon’s Hot New Rock Singles chart and #8 on iTunes Rock chart, their debut album also earned them direct support from Howard Stern, including the rarest of moments on Stern’s show – airing an entire song as opposed to the normal 20 second snippet he usually shares. That track, ‘Diamonds’, recently eclipsed 2.4 million streams on Spotify.

Inspired by the overwhelming success of New Blood, Farewell To Fear released their Legacy  EP, ultimately allowing them to seamlessly merge their skills and styles together to create heavy rock songs that deliver a strong punch to the gut, while staying melodic and delivering impactful lyrics hitting all ranges and octaves.

Shortly following Legacy, the band released their album Voices. It was produced by Damien Starkey (Burn Season & Puddle of Mudd) and elevated the bands’ sound.

“To listen to Voices is to take a deep, dark and emotional rollercoaster ride leaving you wanting more. Voices draws from anthemic songs of the past, while embracing the uncertain chaos around us.”

Expect no stone unturned with this album!  The highly anticipated single ‘Underneath my Skin’ landed at #29 on the Billboard Rock Indicator Charts. With the single sending a powerful sucker-punch with its anthem of love and obsession, it moves as an emotional gut-wrenching song that will inspire the devil within.

The band wasted no time spreading their new sound with the masses at various rock festivals, touring with artists such as Fozzy, Like A Storm, Palisades and Flaw throughout North America and Canada, including joining Chris Jericho/Fozzy and friends performing on the ‘Rockin and Wrestling Rager at Sea’ Cruise.

Staying true to form, Farewell to Fear immediately went back into the studio amidst the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic to release the ever timely single ‘I Won’t Be Your Tragedy’, which quickly shot to #21 on the Billboard Rock Indicator Chart and eclipsed over 100K streams on Spotify in 3 months.

Farewell to Fear is poised for an explosive 2022 and has already been invited to perform at the Rebel Rock Festival in Orlando, with Five Finger Death Punch, Limp Bizkit, I Prevail, Sevendust and many more!

Farewell to Fear is:
Mike Craig – vocals
Tommy Gibbons – guitars & vocals
Jimmy Adams – drums
Jeremy Sevens – bass guitar
Bill Staley – guitars & vocals

Farewell to Fear is very proud to announce they have been signed to international powerhouse label Golden Robot Records for their new album! This is huge news for the band, as it will push the band to another level. 2022 / 2023 will be an exciting time, with Farewell to Fear releasing new music and touring the world.
