EMPLOYED TO SERVE have released an accompanying music video for their latest single, “Mark Of The Grave” – check it out HERE. 

“Mark Of The Grave” is the second single from Employed To Serve’s forthcoming album, Conquering, and demonstrates the band at their most metal yet. The video is a trip, to say the least…

“With this video we just wanted to have fun,” says Employed To Serve frontwoman, Justine Jones. “After months of being cooped up inside, we wanted to focus on a project that was more light-hearted. We shot the music video at Miracle theatre in Cornwall with director Ryan Mackfall. The theatre was kind enough to give us free-reign of their studio and stage costumes. Everything was shot in front of a green screen to maximise the opportunity to have fun with the edit. We then sent over a few notes to VFX artist Nadav Rotem and assistant Jake Potter, as soon as they came back with Sammy doing a solo on a flying, flaming skull I knew it was going to be my favourite video – it’s wild and we love it.”  

Conquering, due for release on September 17th 2021, will be Employed To Serve’s second full-length album on the Spinefarm label.  

Drawing influence from the music of their youth and a new perspective on how to nurture the positive aspects of humanity and individual growth, Conquering is a celebration and acknowledgement of triumph in the face of a world that can be relentlessly adversarial.  

ETS began recording the album in the “unforgiving winter” of 2020; produced & mixed by Lewis Johns at The Ranch, Southampton, mastered by Grant Berry at Fader Mastering, Employed To Serve took the time thrown at them by a world stopped still to write their most visceral material to date.

Employed To Serve recently appeared on the mainstage of Download Festival at Donington Park. The event marked a moment in history, seeing live music return as part of a government-backed Pilot scheme. The Guardian noted Employed To Serve as a festival highlight, commenting, “Employed to Serve exude venom” whilst Metal Hammer called their set “relentless” & “blistering”; Kerrang! were just as enthused, adding, “Sammy Urwin’s sledgehammer riffs awaken Download’s inner headbanger, while Justine Jones’ barbed screams urge those gathered to toss any notion of social distancing in the bin.” 

Following this appearance, Employed To Serve were swiftly announced as support to Gojira on their extensive UK & European tour.

Florida death/thrash trio INHUMAN CONDITION premiere new drum playthrough for “The Neck Step” from their hit debut album “Rat God” via Sick Drummer Magazine. The playthrough was performed by drummer Jeramie Kling.

Jeramie adds: “I love this song, it grooves exactly where I want it to!! This is a favorite of mine off of Rat°God! It was also a lot of fun to play in front of that much fire. Stings the senses.”

INHUMAN CONDITION showed up on the scene earlier this year, releasing 4 singles between the end of April and the album’s release date on June 4th on Listenable Insanity Records.  The music for Rat°God was written by Taylor Nordberg (Guitars, THE ABSENCE, FORE) and Jeramie Kling (Vocals, Drums – VENOM INC, THE ABSENCE, FORE) in the fall of 2019 for what was to be the new MASSACRE album, whom both were members of.  After their departure from the group the following year they teamed up with fellow former MASSACRE, and current OBITUARY  member  Terry Butler (Bass) and formed INHUMAN CONDITION.

More About ANGELES:
Dale Lytle and Dave Raudman united the musicians that would form the band known as Angeles. Their first Hollywood gig was at the Troubadour where they were setting attendance records playing the midnight slot on Sunday nights. They also played at The Whiskey and The Roxy on the Sunset strip in Hollywood California they became one of L.A.’s largest Indie bands of the 80’s. They performed at Devonshire Downs outdoor stadium to over 6,000 people twice and also played In-A-Godda_Da-Vida with Ron Bushy from Iron Butterfly.

In 1984, Angeles performed at the Reseda Country Club, appearing with Bon Jovi. They have also shared a stage with Quiet Riot, Motley Crue, Ratt, Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, and Ronnie James Dio, Jefferson Starship, Robbie Krieger of the Doors, Jack Russell’s “Great White”, The Tubes, Foghat, Y&T, Michael Schenker,and Dokken just to name a few of the legends of Rock N Roll. Signed to Mystic records, Angeles recorded their debut album “We’re No Angels”. In 1984. They were featured in the1985 September issue of Hit Parader magazine. A number of Angeles’ songs, including “Nasty Girls”, “You Want Me To Love You”, and “Can’t Find the Words” has been played on nationwide radio stations.

In 1999, their album “No Limits” was featured on 95.5 KLOS Local Licks Sunday night program. Angeles was honored to not only be featured on the program four times, but they were also the only band to ever have six songs played on a Double Local Licks feature in a single program. During one week in 1999, “Can’t Find the Words” was played 527 times. The song continued to play nationwide on radio stations. Angeles has released 12 album (CDs) to date. On February 2019, ANGELES emerged to Dark Star Records/Sony. The band’s previous album “Fire It Up” was released on September 13th, 2019 via Dark Star Records/Sony. TUATHA DE DANANN Pay Tribute to SKYCLAD

Brazilian TUATHA DE DANANN make Metal with influences from Celtic folk music, their biggest inspiration is one of the forerunners of Folk Metal, Skyclad, mainly from the Martin Walkyer’s era, who Tuatha’s founder Bruno Maia considers the best lyricist of the style. 

Martin Walkyer and Tuatha de Danann have been maintaining a strong friendship relationship for some years now, including Walkyer coming to Brazil three times already, sharing the stage with the band in a traditional festival in Varginha (MG), Tuatha’s birthplace. 

And that partnership didn’t stop there, Walkyer recorded and co-wrote two Tuatha de Danann songs, “Rhymes Against Humanity” and “Your Wall Shall Fall”. 

To honor their great influence, the idol who also became a friend and songwriting partner, the band recorded five versions of some of their favorite Skyclad songs. Due to the pandemic, naturally each of the members recorded their parts in their homes, and later the mixing and production was done by Bruno Maia at Braia studios. 

This tribute also gave rise to the possibility of a future European tour of this tribute, with the partnership of Tuatha de Danann and Martin Walkyer. It would be an interesting idea, and one that Walkyer and Skyclad fans would certainly appreciate.

Canadian SLOWPOKE Release New Single “Windtalker”

Canadian Doom/Punk/Psychedelic band SLOWPOKE release the third single – “Windtalker” from their upcoming self-titled debut album.

Slowpoke adds:  “Windtalker is about as pop as we get on this album. The songwriting is a bit closer to a traditional verse-chorus-verse approach which makes it a bit more straightforward than some of our other material. It’s lyrics are derived from a quote by Plato regarding ethics and reputation.”

Canadian Doom/Punk/Psychedelic band Slowpoke are set to release their debut self titled LP August 22nd 2021. The LP was recorded mixed by Rick Hollett at Redhouse Recording in NL Canada (sHeavy, Hey Rosetta!) and mastered by Chris Keffer (Black Keys, Cheap Trick) at Magnetic North Studio in Utah, USA. Slowpoke adds “It’s been a privilege working with such a talented team. We worked hard on the album and we can’t wait to get it out there.”

Slowpoke’s self-titled debut runs the gamut of heavy genres. It features epic, psychedelic passages that transition to fast punk rock, righteous riffs, fuzz-laden doom and some straight up rock and roll. Slowpoke keeps things interesting with progressive songwriting and by drawing from a wide range of inspiration including bands like Clutch, The Melvins, Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, Black Sabbath and many more.

MASSIE Releases New Single “Eating Me Alive” Feat. Shayley Bourget

Sacramento, California singer/songwriter MASSIE released her brand new single “Eating Me Alive” that features Shayley Bourget (Dayshell, Of Mice & Men).

“We all have our demons. Everyone is dealing and struggling with one thing or another. Eating Me Alive is a dialogue between a person and the devil on their shoulder. For me, the song represents how social media makes me feel. It can be hurtful, and negative, a let down and a big discouragement but I continue to give into it. Our generation has become a generation of addicts . Addicted to technology and the high from it. We crave attention in new ways that previous generations haven’t. But we aren’t only addicted to technology and social media and attention. We struggle with alcoholism, getting high, adrenaline, living up to beauty standards, fitting in. I think it all causes that thought ‘I hate myself’. We just need to remember that we ARE loved, we ARE wanted, we ARE worth and you are NEVER in this alone”says Massie.

The single was also produced by Shayley Bourget who was quoted as saying, “Working with Massie was a breeze and a breath of fresh air. Being a vocalist myself and understanding how much work goes into being a great singer, she came in and sang like she wanted to be a star. From her pitch to her delivery, near flawless! Massie is a singer/ songwriter from Sacramento, CA. Hailing from a diverse background of musical endeavors, she is gifted with a wide vocal range, from smooth airy melodies to driving edgy choruses. Since she was 10 years of age, she has been writing her own songs in relation to life events and emotion.

Throughout her music journey she has worked with Thrasher, who has engineered for artists such as, Travis Barker, Machine Gun Kelly, jxdn, and more. In addition to working with Thrasher, she has worked with Earl Cohen, a Grammy award winning producer in New York, Brian Grider and Misha Hercules, based in Los Angeles.
