OBSCURA Release New Single & Video for Title Track “A Valediction”

OBSCURA have unleashed the second teaser for their upcoming album “A Valediction”, which is set to be released on November 19th. This time, it´s the catchy title track that manifests OBSCURAs meldodic pace, that they stand for over a decade.

Mastermind Steffen Kummerer comments the track as follows: “The title track combines past and future to the present. With a combination of virtuosity, catchiness and clear arrangements, “A Valediction” unfolds a bittersweet, fragile temper and sums up the lyrical framework of the entire album. A worthy title track and characterful summit of upcoming concerts.”

The video was shot, once again, with talented Mirko Witzki and brings back the vibes of late 90ies MTV.

“A Valediction” is now finally up for pre-order and pre-save via this link: https://bfan.link/Obscura

The band will head out for their European tour right after the release and tickets are on sale now.

MINISTRY Premiere Video for ‘Search And Destroy’

In addition to four decades of incredible original material that spawned a whole new genre of music, industrial mainstays MINISTRY and creator/frontman Al Jourgensen are also well known for a series of memorable cover songs from BLACK SABBATHS’s ‘Supernaut’ to Bob Dylan’s ‘Lay Lady Lay’. The newest tribute is a take on THE STOOGES’ ‘Search And Destroy’ offering a uniquely slowed down tempo and Jourgensen’s guttural howl that amplifies the song’s wartime critique.

Rolling Stone has premiered the music video for the new single, directed by the iconic Dean Karr (Ozzy Osbourne, Iron Maiden, Dr. Dre, Velvet Revolver, Rob Zombie) here.

Watch the video for ‘Search And Destroy’ here:

Featured on the song is Billy Morrison (Billy Idol, Royal Machines) who worked closely with Jourgensen to hone MINISTRY’s version, an idea they came up with after teaming up on the track in a moment of accidental kismet at the Above Ground benefit concert in Los Angeles in 2019.

Recalls Jourgensen:“We rehearsed it and the song was perfect but the show was running late and by the time we got on stage, I was in half time and singing the lyrics twice as slow. Fortunately Billy and Dave Navarro are professionals and they realized what was going on and sort of covered for me but I felt horrible. Billy thought it actually sounded really good in half-time so he came to me with the idea of going into the studio and recording it that way. And I figured I owed him one.”

For the music video, filmed in a desert wasteland in a remote part of Los Angeles where airplanes are retired, Jourgensen learned how to operate an antiquated war weapon and wore an arsenal of heavy artillery to get into character. He says, “It was the smoothest shoot I’ve ever done and one of the memories I’ll take to my grave.”

‘Search And Destroy’ will appear on MINISTRY’s upcoming 15th studio album “Moral Hygiene”, which will be released via Nuclear Blast Records on October 1. With some of MINISTRY’s strongest and most inspired material to date, the 10 tracks are a follow-up to 2018’s lauded “AmeriKKKant” and put forth Jourgensen’s societal manifesto and plea for civilization to get back to a set of standards that lives up to and embraces our humanity.

“Moral Hygiene” will be available in CD, vinyl and digital download formats. Pre-orders are available at: http://www.nuclearblast.com/ministry-moralhygiene

RITUAL EFFECT Reveal First Details of Upcoming EP ‘Too Late to Turn Back’

Dublin based RITUAL EFFECT have revealed the first details of their upcoming new EP ‘Too Late to Turn Back’!

The band stated on ‘Too Late to Turn Back’:
“This is the “difficult second album” but not in the traditional sense. The difficulty we faced with this one was the crazy amount of lockdowns and lack of in-person contact we had thoughout the whole process.

It’s a pretty different set of tunes to the first album. “Fossils” had lots of fast paced 4 minute rock songs. These compositions are longer and heavier and go in more directions. And unlike the last album, Paul was with us from the very start of the writing process here, and it shows!

The biggest thing we’ve learned through this recording is that nothing can ever be taken for granted. It’s been a year and a half since the last time we got on stage together and this whole experience has just made us hungrier and more determined than ever. We believe that there’s an energy to these tracks that reflects that, and we chose the title “Too Late To Turn Back” because it represents where we stand right now as a band – all in, focused, and ready to seize our moment.

We are very excited to finally have this mini-album ready for the world. Hope you enjoy it!”

‘Too Late to Turn Back’ Tracklist:
Brand New
Dead Set
Ex Crux
Broken Record
L.H.W.

Coverart was created by Siobhan Feeney and Eadaoin Curtin.

More information TBA, stay tuned!

Dublin based RITUAL EFFECT fuse aspects of grunge and metal together with catchy riffs, fast paced songs, driving choruses and high energy shows. Since the band’s inception in late 2017, they have written a massive amount of songs, clocked up a hefty amount of gigs, and they have been invited back everywhere that they have played, receiving enthusiastic feedback from far and wide. Each band member has previously written and recorded with different ensembles around the country but none could resist the call to join this new family. Each of the members has their own style and very different qualities which have been intricately wound into Ritual Effect. They are professional to work with, fun to hang out with, and awesome to witness. 2019 saw the band enter the studio for their first serious project, their debut album “Fossils”. This 15 track album is a heavy, melodic nod to their past and sets the pace for a high speed, full on sonic assault to the future. With their song bank close to full storage, a follow up mini album ‘Too Late to Turn Back’ will hit the shelves in 2021. There is no limit to what this band is capable of in the rehearsal room, on stage or on tape. Come join the Ritual and embrace the Effect.

DION Releases “I’ve Got To Get To You” Track, Feat. Boz Scaggs And Mike & Joe Menza

DION is releasing “I’ve Got To Get To You,” a brand-new track today!  Dion’s energy level has never been higher and to underscore that fact, he’s been hard at work over the past few months recording the follow up album to 2020’s hugely successful Blues With Friends. The new album — details to come — will be out this fall on Joe Bonamassa’s independent label KTBA Records but we’re trusting that “I’ve Got To Get To You” will scratch your Dion itch in the interim.

The song features vocals from the great Boz Scaggs as well participation from the father and son guitar team of Mike and Joe Menza. You may recall that Mike was one of the “Friends” on Blues With Friends.

Stream the new single at https://bit.ly/DDGetToYou. Watch the music video HERE.

“I’ve Got To Get To You” was written by Dion with long-time collaborator Mike Aquilina.  As far as the song’s lyric is concerned, Dion remarked, “I tried to get every form of transportation imaginable in this one” and that’s certainly the case with mention of elevators and Concord jets among many means of transport referenced.

He notes, “Boz Scaggs is one of my wife Susan’s favourite singers, and I’m right there with her. For decades I’ve wanted to record a song with this guy. There’s no mistaking his voice for anyone else’s — and here it is, as pure and clear as ever, on ‘I’ve Got To Get To You.’

I was inspired to write this song after a conversation with Roy Orbison more than fifty years ago. Now that Boz has sung on it, it’s finally done. It doesn’t get any better than this.”

Boz Scaggs was equivalently effusive. He remarked, “Dion is one of my favourite singers. With a single phrase he can open up a wide range of musical experiences. His early rock foundation and doo-wop sets me free. His style — in words and music — is timeless and beautiful to me.”  Boz went on to call ‘I’ve Got To Get To You’ “a fun track… rockin’ guitars and Dion’s lyrics are wild. Our voices are a natural blend.”

Dion sums up his recent creative efforts most succinctly, “To make music with friends, and make friends through music: I can’t imagine a better life than this.”

“Wait A Minute, Doc. Are You Telling Me You Built A Time Machine…Out Of A DeLorean?” – Back To The Future (1985)

SHAMELESS bassist Alexx Michael is excited to announce the release of the tenth Shameless album, Live Your Dream, out now and available to order HERE.

This limited edition picture disc (300 copies worldwide) and cassette (200 copies worldwide) is released in conjunction with Michael’s book Looking Inside : The Stainless Sensation, a 500 page deluxe bound definitive  history of John DeLorean, the DMC 12 and the DeLorean Motor Company.

The picture disc features DeLorean themed graphics and features the new track “Live Your Dream” and a cover of “East Bound And Down” from the Smokey and the Bandit movie. The album’s 10 tracks are rounded out by Shameless classics taking you back in their time machine to the heyday of 80s glam rock.

Reformed in 1998 with partner guitarist BC and help of drummer Eric Singer (Kiss, Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath), Shameless is notable for having numerous American rockers appearing on their albums. They have established themselves as a band that doesn’t give a damn that the 80s are over and continue to turn out good-natured party rock and roll, regardless of shifting musical tends and styles.

For Live Your Dream, Michael again teamed up with guitarist partner BC, Steve Summers (Pretty Boy Floyd) and Stevie Rachelle (Tuff). Due to the pandemic making in-person studio recording impossible, Michael recorded Live Your Dream through collaborations from all over the planet including Munich, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, St. Louis, Copenhagen and Auckland New Zealand. As always the list of guest musicians is endless. Bruce Kulick (Kiss) and Brian Tichy (Whitesnake, Ozzy) are featured on the title track “Live Your Dream” along with guest vocalist Charlotte Tybalt of Blue Ruin. Kulick again contributes guitar tracks on “East Bound And Down” joined by Jaret Reddick of Bowling For Soup on vocals. The rest of the disc is highlighted by appearances by Keri Kelli (Slash, Alice Cooper, Night Ranger), Tracii Guns & Steve Riley (L.A. Guns), Frankie Muriel (King Of The Hill), Michael Thomas (Beautiful Creatures, Adler’s Appetite) among others.
