With their new CD/Blu-Ray Live Attack out for just under a week, thunderous German thrashers DESTRUCTION prove themselves to still be one of the most relentless groups in metal right now – even after almost 40 years of band history – not planning on stepping off the gas any time soon! Today, DESTRUCTION reveals their new single and video “State Of Apathy”, giving fans a taste of what’s to come from the quartet after recently signing to Napalm Records!

Featuring legendary SCHMIER on vocals/bass, DESTRUCTION releases an absolute thrash banger with “State Of Apathy”! With tight guitar riffs and unmistakable vocals, DESTRUCTION once again showcases how they have earned their spot in the world’s elite of thrash metal, reaching #26 on the German album charts with their latest album, Born To Perish. Bone-crushingly dynamic drums kick off the song – leaving no neck unbroken. DESTRUCTION delivers thrash metal to the fullest!

This is also the first appearance of new guitarist Martin Furia, who joins DESTRUCTION on guitars and is also known for his work as sound engineer and producer for NERVOSA, EVIL INVADERS and many more!

Ex-Guitarist Mike about parting ways with DESTRUCTION:

Italian Legenday BULLDOZER Release New Single “Heretic”

Italy’s legendary speed-thrash metal force BULLDOZER strikes back with a vengeance!

Today the band releases a new single and video entitled “Heretic”, with the latter featuring Steve Sylvester (DEATH SS) and Wildness Perversion (MORTUARY DRAPE).

More than 40 years after their inception, BULLDOZER still presents their blend of evil metal with serious power and lifeblood. The years of experience can be noticed without doubt – the song is composed with an undeniable enthusiasm and a lot of know-how.

The lyrical concept deals with the era of the inquisition and the persecution of heretics.

“This video is dedicated to two great heretics of the past, both born in Nola (NA) in the sixteenth century. Their heresies were different but one fundamental thing united them: the exceptional courage with which they refused to abjure and submit to the Catholic Inquisition. They defended their own ideas and freedom of conscience until the end, and faced an atrocious death.
Pomponio Algieri was born in 1531 and sentenced to be burned alive in boiling oil in Piazza Navona, Rome on August 19, 1556 (Giordano Bruno was eight years old at the time). Algieri entered the cauldron willingly, without being pushed in by the executioner, after repeating his convictions to the crowd. Death came within fifteen minutes but the great Algieri did not complain which stunned people.
On the other hand Giordano (Filippo) Bruno was burned alive in Campo dei Fiori, Rome on February 17, 1600. To prevent him from shouting out his convictions to the crowd, they nailed his tongue to the roof of his mouth. We do not wish to forget what he said to the ecclesiastical Inquisition Court (recited in the video): “You are more afraid of issuing this sentence than I of receiving it”. – AC Wild

Post-punk alt. rockers JOY/DISASTER have revealed first details of their new album ‘From Stars To Angels‘, including 14 intimate tracks, available on all major platforms on September 10th.

JOY/DISASTER comment on the recording sessions:
“Composed during the confinement period between March and May 2020, FROM STARS TO ANGELS is an album bringing together very intimate tracks and which traces the evolution of emotions during a period of isolation. Each of us has taken a different look at the world, the media, nature and it is these developments that have given aggressive and melancholic nuances transcribed on these songs.
Given the difficulties in being able to move around, only the drums were recorded in DIY studio conditions but for the rest of the recordings, everyone recorded at home and then sent the tracks for mixing and mastering.”

About the musical style, the band adds:
“We do not respect musical codes, each album is different even if we find common sounds and harmonies, and we’re always trying to find new creative methods to express ourselves through the music.
Every new thing brings joys and disappointments, but that’s why we keep our rock’n roll spirit!”

BEYOND GRACE Premiere ‘Barmecide Feast’ Lyric Video

BEYOND GRACE have premiered their new single, Barmecide Feast, and it’s accompanying lyric video via Distorted Sound. Barmecide Feast is the third and final pre-release single to be taken from their upcoming sophomore album, Our Kingdom Undone, due for release via Prosthetic Records on September 3. Alongside the premiere, Distorted Sound caught up with BEYOND GRACE vocalist Andy Walmsley to discuss the Nottingham, UK death metal band’s forthcoming album in depth.

Speaking on the new single, Andy Walmsley (vocals) comments: “Barmecide Feast might just be the catchiest song on the album, but it’s also one of the angriest (and they’re all pretty damn angry). It’s a song about broken promises, empty rhetoric, hollow words. About those who act with impunity, but without responsibility. All set to a soundtrack of absolutely massive riffs and equally huge hooks with a simple message – the ones who lead you, the hand that feeds you, cannot always be trusted.”

Our Kingdom Undone sees BEYOND GRACE refining and redefining their sound into something that’s simultaneously more intricate and more intense than ever before, combining conceptually ambitious songwriting and high octane heaviness in equal measure.

The album’s gestation period took place under a pall of social unrest and political uncertainty the world over, so it’s perhaps no surprise that each of Our Kingdom Undone‘s eight songs is a cathartic scream of raw emotion and primal poetry. Full to the brim with lyrics that rage with unfettered fury and unbound frustration against the rise of isolationism, exploitation, rampant militarism, and religious indoctrination.

Recorded at Stuck On A Name studio by Ian Boult and Bookhouse studio by Tom Hill, before being mixed and mastered by Charles Elliott (Tastemaker Audio / Abysmal Dawn), Our Kingdom Undone is both a crushing statement of intent and a vital reminder that the personal is political, that the ends do not justify the means, and that we must not let our fear divide us and drive us into an age of unreason.

CAVERN DEEP in Studio Recording Second Album

Doom act CAVERN DEEP have just finished recording their second album. It continues the tale of the archeologist of the first album with 6 crushing new songs. All engineering, mixing and mastering is done DIY, same as the first album. More news to come very soon!

Cavern Deep is a slow, heavy band, founded 2019, by members from Zonaria and Swedish retro riffsters Gudars Skymning.

The debut self-titled album is about one archeologist and his crew of ambitious henchmen and their descent into the cavernous realm below the crust of the earth. Learn about their fate and listen to some heavy, gloomy riffs along their slow path downwards.

DESALMADO Reveal Details of New Album ‘Mass Mental Devolution’

After great repercussion of the last single ‘Hollow’, the brazilian death grind group DESALMADO recently released the cover of their next album entitled ‘Mass Mental Devolution‘, which has a confirmed release for October 8th with worldwide digital distribution by the European label Blood Blast Distribution. The physical versions in Brazil and Latin America will be produced by Xaninho Discos, Sana Maior Records and Shinigami Records.

‘Mass Mental Devolution’ will be released on cassette tape and CD with bonus tracks in Europe via Gruesome Records. The band is expected to announce in the coming weeks how the physical material will be released in North America and Asia.

Vocalist Caio Augusttus tells more details about the release: “We were looking for labels or recorders that wanted to physically release and distribute this album, so we managed to establish this partnership between Xaninho Discos and Sana Maior with Shinigami distribution in Brazil and Latin America, as well as to also have the European release with Gruesome Records. We also managed to get the record out on digital via Blood Blast, something we didn’t expect, but it worked out really well in the end. This whole movement was very important for the band, yeah the recognition of our work and the trust placed in our sound”.

The graphic art of the album was done by artist Jeca Paul, who had already worked with the band on the ‘Save Us From Ourselves’ album. “We’ve always been very careful with the graphic part of the works, because it’s what packs the message we want to convey on each album. Jeca has a language that has a lot to do with Desalmado, he managed to perfectly capture the concept of Mass Mental Devolution The record has a heavy, dense atmosphere and we were all going through difficult times personally while we were writing the record. When Jeca sent the first cover version we already approved and we didn’t ask for any changes. an incredible job for Desalmado!”, explains bassist Bruno Teixeira.

Desalmado released two singles from ‘Mass Mental Devolution’ this year, showing a bit of what’s to come on his new release. The songs “Your God, Your Dictator” and the aforementioned “Hollow” are available on all digital platforms.

Formed in 2004, Desalmado is today at the forefront of the national underground scene, being one of the most active and relevant bands today. Celebrating 17 years on the road in 2021, the band has accumulated great achievements in its history, with three tours in Europe and hundreds of shows in all regions of Brazil. 

Recently, Max Cavalera (Cavalera Conspiracy, Soulfly and ex-Sepultura) cited Desalmado as one of the highlights of the heavy music scene.
