IGORRR Deliver Live Video ‘Opus Brain’, Band Introduces New Members, U.S. Tour Kicks Off on February 17th

IGORRR have released “Opus Brain,” a fitting document to the bands atmospheric and experimental live performance. The video was filmed live during the band’s performance at Pol’and’Rock Festival on July 30th, 2021, and comes off the 2017 album Savage Sinusoid, deemed by Metal Injection as “an awe-inspiring work of chaos and technicality.”

Watch “Opus Brain” here:

Led by architect Gautier Serre, IGORRR welcomes two new vocalists, Aphrodite Patoulidou and JB Le Bail. Rounded out by drummer Sylvain Bouvier and guitarist Martyn Clément, IGORRR has become something of a collective, rather than the work of one man alone, which has further broadened the scope of Gautier’s music without sacrificing integrity. “I just want to make the music I love, without asking myself if it’s gonna be too complex or too far from what people like. No restrictions, like a big party with metalheads, electronics nerds, classical and baroque-heads and gypsy violinists getting drunk and joining together to bring the best of every genre!“

US fans will finally get to enjoy the genre-mashing sounds of IGORRR as the band lands on US soil this February.

AEPHANEMER Unleash New Lyric Video For ‘Le Radeau de La Méduse’

As Toulouse-based symphonic melodic death metal act AEPHANEMER readies the release of their forthcoming and thunderous full-length studio album, A Dream Of Wilderness, this Friday, November 19 via Napalm Records, the band unleashes a third and final single!

Recorded in both, English and as a French bonus version, “Le Radeau de La Méduse” is a heavy power and razor- sharp death metal anthem you can’t help but to headbang as fast and heavy you can. “This song is named after the famous French painting, and it tells the story of the same French historical event,” says guitarist Martin Hamiche. “For this reason, we decided to release a version of the song with French lyrics as a bonus. We hope you’ll enjoy both versions!”

Escape into another dimension of blast beasts and furious riff monsters, and watch the new AEPHANEMER lyric video for the English version of “Le Radeau de La Méduse”, created by Titanforged Productions, HERE:

AEPHANEMER doesn’t fear boundaries. Their upcoming, third album delivers a wide metal range that represents a dark and gloomier yet no less powerful side of the band, taking you on an epic ride through otherworldly realms of blast beats, orchestral grandeur and furious riffage. Especially in this day and age of staying “true” and limited within a sound and scene, A Dream Of Wilderness is a welcome diversion and a brave record artfully blending brutally fast symphonic death and raw melodic metal into a multi-faceted epic!

Starting out as an unbelievably successful DIY ride that suddenly turned towards international acclaim, the indisputable  AEPHANEMER belong to one of the most exciting melodic death metal sensations of the modern age. Fast-paced metal fronted by the guttural growls and fierce screams of extraordinary vocalist Marion Bascoul meet flickering twin leads, elements of Scandinavian death metal, Slavic traditional music and epic synths. If their latest, much-acclaimed Prokopton was a noteworthy, impressive sophomore album from one of Europe’s best up and coming melodic death metal bands yet, A Dream Of Wilderness sees the French four-piece doubling down on its songwriting skills: Faster, tighter and heavier, AEPHANEMER’s upcoming album unleashes an anthemic adventure of brutally fast riffage and epic melodies!

With the uncertainties of possible lockdowns and rising infection numbers, planning a Pan-European Tour as glam metal sensation DEATHSTARS have done is getting nearly impossible and a massive risk for bands around the globe. For this reason, the Swedes see themselves forced to once more postpone their upcoming shows – yet the time will come for you to finally witness the combo live on stage with the songs from their new, still untitled album that has been quietly in the making within the past years.

“It’s been a frustrating couple of years, yet because of too much uncertainty regarding the pandemic we need to postpone the European tours again. We of course regret to inform you this but it’s not in the hands of the band. We like to thank the fans for patience and hope to see you all during the upcoming shows”, states Whiplasher Bernadotte.

DEATHSTARS were formed in Strömstad, Sweden in 2000 – born of a variety of influences ranging from black and death metal, to hard rock and industrial. They’ve released four full-length studio albums to date; Synthetic Generation (2003), Termination Bliss (2006), Night Electric Night (2009), and The Perfect Cult (2014). The band has stated that Synthetic Generation was a bit of an experiment, the members all having come from underground extreme metal bands. Termination Bliss garnered the group immediate attention, the band touring heavily with own headliner tours around the planet but also varied different packages, such as with Cradle Of Filth and Korn to mention a couple, and winning music prizes, for example Golden Gods, whilst follow-up Night Electric Night launched them internationally, lauding them enormous praise and landing them a massive tour with Rammstein in arenas throughout Europe. Latest album The Perfect Cult saw them continue their impeccable run and the band is currently in the studio finishing up the next – yet untitled – album.

GHOSTASTIC Release New EP ‘Don’t Stand So Close To Me’ And Video ‘The New Revelation’, Announce Live Performance

Posted by tarjavirmakari on November 17, 2021

From hobby to obsession, raw to mega production, here and the afterlife, GHOSTASTIC is an ominous, all-encompassing presentation of sounds and experiences written, performed, and produced by Adamo Fiscella. Based in Cleveland, Ohio, and with a wide range of influences (both old and new), such as NIN, Nero, Skeler, and Deftones, Ghostatic is a vocally driven, modern take on industrial/electronic rock.

“The music presents itself as medicated bipolarism,” explains Adamo. “On one side, instrumentally, it is exotic, pulling from various genres of electronic music such as hardwave, ambient bass, and dubstep. On the other side, it is song driven with the vocals taking the forefront. The vocals keep the songs glued together – accompanied by heavy rock breakdowns weaved in. It’s hard to put into a genre. Some of the subject matter relates to what it’s like to die and what the afterlife might be like. Which is something I’m passionate about as I host/produce a TV show about the paranormal on Paraflixx.”

And soon, Ghostastic will be making their live debut (as Adamo will be joined on stage by Todd Schwarts – guitar, Gavin Ker – bass and keys, and Bailee Neville – drums). “The live show is a raw version of what the studio tracks sound like. Having a live drum set and more guitars replacing certain melodies and percussion that otherwise would have been synthetic.  We’re stoked to announce our first live show is happening December 18th at Avenue Taphouse in Lakewood, Ohio with our friends from Impending Lies. We are the outlier on the bill. Our sound isn’t exactly rock nor EDM. Somewhere in between. We’re paving our own path. It can be a lonely one. But the fans reassure us. It is worth it.” Tickets to the show can be purchased at https://fb.me/e/1S3xPrv5M).

Also recently released was an eye-popping music video for the song “The New Revelation” (which can be viewed below), as well as the release of an EP. “The EP, ‘Don’t Stand So Close To Me,’ was titled by the cover I did by The Police. Which is the second track. It is an ominous departure from the original, with many parts completely reworked. ‘The New Revelation’ is the first track, and single, from the EP. It’s heavy…imagine if NIN came out in 2021. ‘I’m Lost,’ the third track, is an electronic powerhouse with a big drop, then smacks you with a rock transition out of nowhere. It’s full of detailed editing and atmosphering/exotic synthwork. Imagine what it is like to die. ‘Far From Here,’ the fourth and final track, is exactly where it takes you. It’s a cinematic rock/electronic song built for a soundtrack about the last moments of the end of everything as we know it. It is in a 6/4 time signature. I love writing in odd timing.”

And if that wasn’t enough, next year is shaping up to be a busy one for Ghostastic. “2022 is already looking interesting with a few festivals, and a possible tour, in the spring. We’ll have more deets in the coming weeks.”

Folk Prog Rockers LUMSK Sign with Dark Essence Records

Dark Essence Records have inked a deal with Folk Prog Rockers, LUMSK, a band that describes itself as:

A seven headed “troll” that combines traditional or traditional-inspired elements from Norwegian folklore and poetry with progressive rock and metal.

Formed in 1999 In Trondheim, Norway, LUMSK set out to explore the concept of regional folk traditions, as did many European heavy metal bands towards the end of the 20th Century.  So great, in fact, was that interest, and its ensuing popularity amongst fans,  that, by the first decade of the new Millennium, it had burgeoned into a significant sub-genre all of its own.

You could, in fact, go as far as to say that LUMSK was probably one of the first bands that had been “built for folk” from the ground up,  with heavy guitars, keyboard and organs, violins, session horns and female vocals.

LUMSK’s debut album “Åsmund Frægdegjævar” appeared  in 2003 and was based on the saga of Åsmund Frægdegjævar, who traveled from Ireland to save the princess from trolls.  A year later In 2004 LUMSK  began  a collaboration with the author Birger Sivertsen, an expert on Norwegian folklore and sagas, which led to the release of 2005’s album “Troll” whose were lyrics based on Nordic mythology.   The band’s third album, 2007’s “Det Vilde Kor”,  this time featured  lyrics by Norwegian author, and holder of a Nobel Prize in Literature,  Knut Hamsun.

The band’s fourth full-length album has been a while in the making, with LUMSK entering the studio as early as 2010 to begin work on “Fremmede Toner”, a collection of poems by Norwegian  author Andre Bjerke. After a series of setbacks and delays,  which has served to make the album even more anticipated than before, work on “Fremmede Toner” is well underway, and is scheduled for release on Dark Essence Records in 2022, on a date as yet to be confirmed.

Which brings us to today, and today’s lineup, which, following a myriad of comings and goings over the years since LUMSK’s inception, is comprised of Mari Klingen  on Vocals, Siv Lena Laugtug Sæther on Violin, Eystein Garberg on Guitar, Roar Grindheim on  Guitar, Espen Warankov Godø on Keyboards, Espen Hammer on Bass, and Vidar Berg on drums.

More information about LUMSK can be found on the band’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/lumskmusic

A video for the track “Trolltind” from LUMSK’s 2005 album “Troll” can be seen below.
