DIETH are proud to announce their signing with Fireflash Records, which marks the beginning of a new chapter for the band. “This feels like the right home for us, as they share our vision of where we can take the band. We’ve poured our heart and soul into this new music, and I honestly couldn’t be more excited about what we have in store. New line-up, new music, new album – this is just the beginning”, says vocalist and guitarist Guilherme Miranda.
Alongside the new record deal, the band have unveiled their new line-up, welcoming Swedish bassist Tobias Cristiansson, who is known for his work with GRAVE, NECROPHOBIC and, formerly, DISMEMBER. The new line-up comes as DIETH prepare to launch the next era of the band with new music, a new video, and their second studio album. “It’s a pleasure to welcome my longtime friend Tobias to DIETH. His history speaks for itself, and he fits perfectly with what we’re building. I’m beyond happy and honoured to have him with us for this new chapter.”
The first taste of what is to come will be the single ‘Pound of Flesh‘, one of the band’s most brutal tracks to date, which will introduce this new chapter of DIETH. The song will be released alongside a video on 16 October. Guilherme Miranda comments: ‘“Pound of Flesh” is brutal, and that’s exactly what I wanted this song to be. Musically and lyrically, it’s one of my favourite things we’ve done. I’m very excited because it’s a new chapter for DIETH. I really can’t wait for you guys to hear and see what we’ve been working on!”
French cinematic metal visionaries Hypno5e return with ‘Trame Noire’, the haunting title track from their forthcoming seventh album Trame Noire, set for release on 6th November via Pelagic Records.
Directed by Hypno5e mastermind Emmanuel Jessua, the evocative new video mirrors the album’s exploration of memory, loss, dreams and the ghosts of the past, bringing its nocturnal world vividly to life.
On the new single and video, the band comment: “With ‘Trame Noire’, the title track of our new album, I wanted to extend into images the themes that run through my music: memory, loss, dreams and the ghosts of the past.
“I directed the video myself, working with models, collages, drawings and various forms of superimposition. The journey through these shifting spaces, and the apparitions that inhabit them, are fragments of the character’s memories, condemned to wander through this world. He is confronted with the traces of what he has lived through, but also with his own image, which returns like another ghost.
“Memory becomes a material that repeats, distorts and endlessly resurfaces. A cycle from which there is no escape, like an intimate curse, where the past always finds its way back into the present.”
Since 2003, Hypno5e forged a singular path through progressive heavy music, combining crushing riffs with avant-garde experimentation, post-rock, immersive samples and Latin American influences to create their own distinctive brand of cinematic metal. Across six acclaimed albums, they have built a world that is as atmospheric and disorientating as it is heavy. Now, with Trame Noire, they enter their next chapter.
Named after the French term for ‘dark infrastructure’, urban architecture designed to preserve the darkness of night for nocturnal species, Trame Noire unfolds over the course of a single night. Its protagonist is forced to confront buried trauma as every insect, flap of a wing and shift in temperature triggers fragments of long forgotten memories.
The album arrives alongside a celebration of Hypno5e’s more than two decades of existence, a complete 13LP discography box set, featuring Trame Noire alongside Sheol (2023), A Distant Dark Source (2019), Alba (2018), Shores of the Abstract Line (2016), Acid Mist Tomorrow (2012) and debut album Des Deux L’une Est L’autre (2007), which will appear on vinyl for the first time.
Album opener ‘Lost Fires’ rises from lonely keys to a section driven by Jessua’s lush vocals, followed by hulking guitars. ‘Falmer’ offers some of the sweetest and hardest moments of Hypno5e’s career: a hypnotic detour evokes the prime of Pink Floyd, then crashes into a metallic thunder that sounds like Gojira gone black metal. ‘Molecular Angel’ channels old-school prog, drums clamouring beneath gorgeous singing and ambient instruments, and ‘Bare Bones’ is a guitar-powered attack, incorporating wild leads and hammering thuds. The 10-minute title track is a suitably dynamic finale, but it remains consistent in its utter, bittersweet beauty.
Trame Noire was approached quite differently to their previous work, opting for a more organic sound. The band limited their use of samples to reflect the lyrics’ focus on one voice and one character. Plus, they used a warmer, looser style of production: less traditionally tech-metal, more inspired by the masterpieces of 70s psychedelic rock.
Even the artwork – painted by Emmanuel’s father, co-lyricist and frequent collaborator Thierry Jessua – is a raw, unrefined sketch, more human than what was seen on past covers. “This time I wanted to discover another language,”Emmanuel commented. “Every album should tell its story differently. I never want Hypno5e to become predictable.”
All this evolution also reflects the fact that Trame Noire was the first album to be made from start to finish with Hypno5e’s current lineup, rounded out by co-guitarist Jonathan Maurois, bassist Charles Villanueva and drummer Pierre Rettien.
“The new lineup brings different atmospheres,”Emmanuel continues. “It doesn’t mean that Hypno5e is going to be this way forever now, but I think there was a more direct and free way of composing. Everybody had more of a say on the decisions and the structures we put on the album.”
Trame Noire is another bold statement in a career defined by non-conformity. Shorter, warmer and presented in a totally different way to previous works, it ensures that Hypno5e remain one of one, even after more than two decades.

Wormholedeath is proud to announce the signing of 1THIRTY8, the hard rock/metal project of Australian guitarist and songwriter Karl Szulik, for the release of the debut album A Reckless Game,due on November 13, 2026
To mark the signing and offer a first taste of the album, 1THIRTY8 has released the first single, “In Vain,” accompanied by an official music video.
1THIRTY8 started as a side project created to combine hard-hitting metal with sweet melodies that can both energise and soothe. The project gave 1THIRTY8 the opportunity to experiment with songwriting ideas that did not fit with Karl Szulik’s other bands and projects, including Divine Ascension, Living Through Mirrors and UNKNWN. The aim was to create songs that are accessible and relatable while still offering interesting melodies, lyrics, time signatures and layers that reward repeated listens.
Recording from studios on opposite sides of the world initially presented a significant challenge, particularly when it came to conveying ideas and capturing the essence of each track while maintaining consistency across the album. With the professionalism and expertise of Emo and James, however, 1THIRTY8 was able to bring the original vision to life.
Each song on A Reckless Game tells its own story, with lyrics built around common situations and experiences that people encounter in their everyday lives. The songs explore feelings of frustration, relief and sadness, while Simone of Domination Studio’s production brings these ideas together into a polished, cohesive listening experience. Having long admired Simone’s work with DGM, 1THIRTY8 found that his vision and creative expertise transformed the initial ideas into the finished sound heard on the album.
As an old-school music fan, 1THIRTY8 also places great importance on the complete album experience, including its visual presentation. Quality artwork was therefore an essential part of the release. The goal was to create something unique yet simple, centred around the idea of someone doing something reckless. Jonathan brought this concept to life through a series of images spanning the album cover, booklet and CD, creating a visual identity that complements the music.
Although A Reckless Game can be heavy, soft, hard-hitting, soaring or occasionally a little strange, 1THIRTY8 hopes the album maintains a groove that gets under the listener’s skin, moves the body and rocks the mind.

XENOS A.D. have added a fifth date to the second leg of their ‘Oppressor Over Europe Tour,’ which kicks off on October 31st in Palermo. The Sicilian band will perform on November 15th at the Cart & Horses, the birthplace of Iron Maiden and a legendary venue for the UK metal scene, supported by the British band Fracture Point and the Cypriot band Ka’aper.”

A pioneering band of Finnish melancholic metal Lyijykomppania came to an end in 2022 with the passing of founding member and drummer Esa Moilanen. However, a new lineup, KantalaSyndrooma, was formed in 2023 to carry on the band’s legacy, featuring musicians who had played with Lyijykomppania over the years. Rather than a tribute act, it is a band forging its own path, though Lyijykomppania songs may occasionally be heard at their live shows.
The band has been quietly preparing its debut album, “Aavan suon tuolle puolen” (in english: Beyond the vast marsh), set for release on November 6, 2026. Now the band offers a taste of the upcoming album with the single and music video “Viinanpolttajien laulu” (in english: Moonshiners’s song).

Guitarist and songwriter Lindström provides some background on the release: “While composing the song, an idea for the lyrics started taking shape in my mind, which in turn sparked an idea for the video; it was an efficient process in that sense, having three ideas swirling around at once. ‘Viinanpolttajien laulu’ is perhaps the album’s most lighthearted track, even though the subject matter is grim—we are in the ninth winter of the nuclear winter following a nuclear war. A group of ‘jolly’ men have retreated into the wild to escape the post-nuclear world, taking their moonshine stills and other essentials with them—and the forest certainly offers plenty of wood to burn. And although there is a glimmer of hope that the sun might appear again someday, there is little desire to return to that wretched world, as long as the booze keeps flowing and they can occasionally shout their lungs out into the dark forest.”
The band’s story will continue in the future, as the next release is already in the works. Time will tell whether it turns out to be a full-length album or an EP.
Finnish metal band Garden of Stone are set to release their second album ‘For the World of the Obsolete’ on December 11th 2026 via Inverse Records. The third single, “Red Giraffe,” is out today, accompanied by an official music video.
“Melancholy, dreaminess and longing – that’s what you’ll find in ‘Red Giraffe’. With this song, we wanted to explore a soundscape built on huge contrasts: soft and gloomy sections that gradually give way to massive wall-of-sound choruses and soaring vocals.
The song deals with the effects of substance abuse and the often misaligned public discourse surrounding the issue. For us, ‘Red Giraffe’ is about exploring the darker sides of the subject without simplifying it – and letting the music reflect the emotional weight and contrasts within the story.” says the band
