Swedish psychedelic hard rock band GAUPA is getting ready to enter the studio and record its second album and successor to the highly acclaimed full length debut “Feberdröm“. To give fans abroad a glimpse of what’s to be expected once GAUPA are able to hit international stages again, they have released a live video for the hauntingly beautiful song “Mjölksyra“, which was recorded at Kulturhuset Falun in April 2020.

The band commented:
“We’ve been preparing for this studio recording for quite some time now and we’re all eager to show our new repertoire to the world. A lot of new songs to be recorded and a lot of new crazy titles in both Swedish and English!”

The next option to see a proper GAUPA live show will be at by:Larm Festival in Oslo, Norway on October 2nd, 2021 (https://bylarm.no/)

With surreal lyrics, an energetic, very unique singer, and an addictive sound that combines progressive stoner rock with doom, folk and psychedelic rock influences, GAUPA released their self-titled debut EP in June 2018 and have since made a name for themselves in the international underground rock scene. The “GAUPA” EP was well received and led to the band playing one of their first live performances at Scandinavia’s biggest rock festival, Sweden Rock. GAUPA thengot a chance to release the EP on vinyl via German label Kozmik Artifactz in October 2019 and went on to playing a good number of shows and festivals. Critics were impressed not only by the studio recordings and their diverse & complex arrangements, but also by the level of intensity the band displayed live.

In April 2020 GAUPA, which means “lynx” in Swedish dialect, followed up to release their first full length album, “Feberdröm,” gaining even more attention from both the underground scene as well as NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS, who will release their next album in 2022.

THE MIGHTY ONE Smashing The Rickshaw Theatre, Release Live Video ‘My Garden’

The Mighty One, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

THE MIGHTY ONE are back with a bang! Nearing the end of a cultural megadrought that stretches painfully long particularly in the live sector, the Canadian powerhouse has finally entered the stage again. Introducing their massively heavy rock with a fistful of metal to a mixed metal and mariachi audience in a recent virtual live show hosted from Vancouver’s iconic The Rickshaw Theatre, the band took back home an insanely powerful live recording of My Garden, one of the true headbangers on their latest album Torch Of Rock And Roll. Lead guitarist Dave Padden (Ex Anihilator) himself has carefully mixed and mastered the recording to carry over the crisp yet musical sound signature of this culturally historic location. Enjoy this harbinger of all the awesomeness to come here and now!

The whole gig will be released as Live Mariachi Sessions later this year.

FIERCE CULT Announce Third Album ‘Where Humanity Ends’

Spanish death metal outfit FIERCE CULT emerged from the ashes of The Seed, and being on the road since 2007, they have found themselves a mission  –  a mission to channel their anger, their frustration with modern society and its problematic standards, to bring people together and to make them mosh. They’re making the music they as fans would like to hear and their integrity is paying off, as the band has been landing underground hits since the very beginning. Fierce Cult’s new studio album Where Humanity Ends takes the aggressive sound of The Seed’s previous two albums to a more technical realm.

It was made under difficult circumstances which demanded near inhumane levels of endurance of the band, and it shows: The album is distilled, collective rage, as much an insurrection against the commodification of human lives on the brink of extinction as it is about the emotional damage incurred through small-scale interpersonal conflicts. “Death reaches everyone, even when the blood splatters don’t stain your door”, shouts vocalist and guitarist Koko in the title track. Fellow thrashers Jorge Molano (drums) and David Rivilla (guitar/bass) chime in like precision machinery with their aggressive, ever darkening play and sound citing greats such as Pantera, Meshuggah and Behemoth. Equal parts technical and brutal, Where Humanity Ends is a powerful 12-track attack on our cushy lives that is going to turn heads and make ‘em bang. Fierce Cult proclaim:

“The cult keeps growing uglier and stronger every day, the monster never stops”. Check out Where Humanity Ends, out October 1, and find out why you’re a part of it, too.
