Welcome to the ’Edge Of The World’… 
Picture yourself somewhere in the Middle-East or North Africa… walking around in one of the markets, through narrow passages… with merchants, beggars and thieves all around… the air filled with smells of spices, incense and animals. A cool and mysterious setting for a dark mystery that reminds us of the backdrops used in epic films like ’Death On The Nile’ and ’Indiana Jones’. “Edge Of The World“ delivers a fusion of bone-crushing guitar riffs and a led-heavy rhythm section, all mixed with multi-ethnical instrumentation and harmonies typical for the regions. 

The guitars build on a mono-toned lead riff in the intro and chorus and open-ended chords in the verse and pre-chorus. It is only in the bridge that the more typical duo-harmony riffs are used. The guitars are also tuned in drop B (5 tones down) to give a deeper and darker feel to the sound. The ambiance of the song is also inspired by Led Zeppelin’s song ’Kashmir’ and Rush’s ’A Passage To Bankok’. Packaged in MAD INVASION’s typical dark-themed classic rock, the result is both different and enticing – clearly standing out on the contemporary rock scene. 

“Edge Of The World“ is single is the title track from the upcoming album and is also the ‘big’ song both as far as energy, intensity and delivery.

REAPING ASMODEIA Release New Single ‘Simulacra’

REAPING ASMODEIA have premiered their brand new single, Simulacra, via Metal.de. Simulacra is the second single to be taken from the Minneapolis, MN trio’s upcoming third album, Darkened Infinity, due for release via Prosthetic Records on October 15. The track is another exploration of Darkened Infinity’s conceptual story of transcendence and consciousness, with Simulacra following the album protagonist’s descent into a distorted reality of sleeplessness and fear.

Speaking on the single, the band comments: “We wanted to really encompass listeners with our latest single, Simulacra. It is the perfect segue into the overall dynamic and themes that we press upon throughout Darkened Infinity. The track directly follows ‘False Awakening’ in the flow of the album. The instrumental transcendence of the album’s interlude Lamentations is used to create the atmosphere that ties these two songs together. As you continue to hear what we share, you will begin to grasp what we attempted to achieve in both dynamics and darkness on Darkened Infinity.”

Produced and engineered by the band themselves in Minneapolis before being mixed and mastered by Zack Ohren (Machine Head, All Shall Perish, Carnifex) at Castle Ultimate and Sharkbite Studios, Darkened Infinity’s intricate lead melodies unfurl with a menacing clarity when set against the album’s more abrasive tones.

Darkened Infinity’s concept begins steeped in tragedy as the album’s protagonist loses his family at the hands of humanity’s destructive force, with his own life hanging in the balance. As the tale unfolds, Lane’s lyrics thread together a story of immortality, malevolent entities and realms of dream logic – all the while exploring humankind’s inherent duality. Darkened Infinity’s thematic quest for transcendence is adroitly tied together in the opening and closing moments, suggesting enlightenment is not something to be obtained, but merely ‘the consequence of being’.

In the four years since their 2017 effort, Impuritize, REAPING ASMODEIA have relentlessly pursued the US live circuit, playing shows alongside the likes of Slaughter To Prevail, Rivers of Nihil, The Faceless and many more – refining their craft with a perseverance and determination akin to few others. MUDD FLUX Release New Single/Official Video For ‘Soul Chaotic’

American metal group MUDD FLUX have released their new single and official video for the track Soul Chaotic and it’s is available everywhere on all major streaming platforms.

Soul Chaotic explores the depths of desperation and anger brought about by a dysfunctional relationship. This is the heaviest offering yet from Mudd Flux, who brought you the well recieved LP Light the Skies Electric in 2019. Clean, heartfelt, vocals are combined with intense screams of anger. Accenting these vengeance-tinged lyrics are the guitar and bass, which weave a contrapuntal and complimentary style throughout the song, incorparting heavy undertones with rich harmonic texture and counterpoint. Ultimately, the piece reaches its climax with a dynamic drum performance, displaying the overall talent and mastery of composition inherit to Mudd Flux.

TALES OF THE OLD is a Symphonic Dark Ambient Power Metal band from Athens, Greece. The band was founded in 2010 by keyboard player Mike Tzanakis who is also the main composer and arranger of their music. In 2012 they released their first Ep ” The Passageway From Hell To Earth ”.

Thomas is writing an album, The Pharaoh’s Temple, to be released in September 2021 that will feature Derek, Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal and Tony Franklin.

A powerful quote by the renowned genius Albert Einstein. This holds true for 14 year old Drummer and Progressive Rock songwriter Thomas Thunder. Barely in his teens, this young musician from Southern New England is here to prove that children can not only perform as a musician, but be a successful songwriter as well. With his intricate Progressive Rock songs that include odd time signatures and unique instrumentation he has captured the attention of fans as well as professional musicians.

Thomas began his journey as a musician when he started drum lessons at age five. He started playing in a performance band by age eight at School of Rock, and it was there that Thomas was inspired to start songwriting himself. At age 10 years old, Thomas released his first single, and he was awarded a prize in the Eventide Theater Songwriting competition. Thomas has also been featured on the British Prog Rock blog, participated in radio and Podcast interviews, and landed the cover of American Pride Magazine. He also has achieved three Number One hits on the independent music chart The Fabchart.

His love of Progressive Rock bands like Sons of Apollo, Dream Theater and Tool permeate his songwriting. In fact, Thomas grabbed the attention of the ‘King of Keyboards’ Derek Sherinian (Sons of Apollo member; ex Dream Theater; Alice Cooper, etc) with his songs. Thomas has written several songs that feature one of his musical idols Derek Sherinian on keyboards. Not only has Derek contributed to Thomas’ songs but has produced them as well.

This superstar collaboration has solidified for Thomas to continue on the path as a musician and songwriter. Becoming a professional musician, performing live, and Prog Rock songwriting are his musical goals. Since age 12, his original music is published on all streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple and Amazon. Thomas also is a member of the high IQ society Mensa.
