There was a time when the award winning band WONDERLOVE was a celebrated act in Southern California, seemingly poised to break out. But instead, their lives leapt forward to 2020, a year that brought them closer together than ever before – musically at least, since they were spread out over three states. The upcoming album “All of the Nightmares” from Wonderlove is the opening of a capsule from an alternate timeline and seeing what time in isolation has created.
Wonderlove’s style has always been grounded in rock ‘n roll, while also encompassing many of the influences and offshoots: psychedelic, progressive, gospel, R&B – all of these are welcome. The tight interaction of Dicki Fliszar (drums) and Dave Beste (bass, classical guitar) gives the foundation for the wall of sound generated by Jesse Nason (keys), Bryan McIntyre (guitar), and Chris Paul Overall (vocals). Their first album, “Getting Off the Revolution”, captured this lineup in their nascent form, with the last song on the album being the only one the band had rehearsed before recording. They quickly began working on their second album, “My Submarine”, which featured intense arrangements honed from live performances. This album also brought them attention from the larger rock music scene, garnering them 4 music awards, a hit radio single and gushing praise from critics and fans alike. But then, quite unexpectedly, it was over.
Out of the confusion of 2020, technology brought the 5 members of Wonderlove back together to start work on what would become “All of the Nightmares”. The idea came from Dave who simply said during a video meeting, “We should record a couple songs.” Using friends’ studios in Southern California to record drums and personal bedroom studios to record the rest, ten songs had taken shape by early 2021. The new album picks up where the band left off as if no time had passed with riff rock barn burners l ike “Dark Harvest”, “On & On”, and “Spider Queen”, softer melodic songs l ike “Rain Fall Down” and “The Burden”, and cinematic soundscapes heard in “Linger” and “Snake Charmer”. Funnily enough, the new album also combines some of the circumstances from the first album: the band never played these songs before recording. However, without the burden of the studio clock ticking away, they could perfect their intense arrangements into something with far more depth than what was previously possible.
In this way, the lead single and video, “When the Vultures Die” is the perfect introduction to an explosive and complex new album. The single showcases Overall’s soaring vocals over a thunderous drum and guitar groove. It is accented by a distorted keyboard overture and classical guitar chorus, and reaches a bass and drum climax before the final chorus. These dynamic shifts foreshadow the sonic roller coaster themed throughout the album.
Wonderlove’s commitment and attention to creative detail is transmitted loud and clear in the video for “Vultures”, which was directed by Jesse with artwork overseen by Bryan. It is evident that they are pulling no punches and continue to generate music and art that is second to none. With the album prepped for release in October 2021, the band still spans three states but clearly demonstrates they have something to say collectively. In the alternate universe in which Wonderlove now exists, they are still a force to be reckoned with.
Following their latest, 2016- album The Blaze, October 22, 2021 will see Finland’s melodic heavy and power metal force BURNING POINT return with a brand new album! Arsonist Of The Soul will be released on October 22, 2021 through AFM Records.
BURNING POINT may had its share of line-up changes throughout their more than two decades of existence. The main constant though, mastermind/guitarist/songwriter Pete Ahonen, always kept the ship on route and his clear vision and artistic integrity made BURNING POINT one of the most reliable purveyors of excellent classic power and heavy metal.
After handling the vocals on his own from the band’s foundation up until the arrival of Nitte Valo (ex-Battle Beast) in 2015, now Ahonen and BURNING POINT present a new voice on the band’s upcoming album: Luca Sturniolo! Replacing Valo, Sturniolo turns out to be quite a discovery; his powerful, varied vocals perfectly match with Ahonen’s fiery fretwork and strong, experienced songwriting. Besides Ahonen, Sturniolo and Pekka Kolivuori, now bassist Jarkko Poussu (ex-member of Finnish thrash pioneers A.R.G.), Tuomas Jaatinen on drums and Matti Halonen (Keyboards) have joined BURNING POINT.
“I am extremely happy about the new line-up and the new record. All the guys are very, very talented and excited!“, Ahonen comments.
A little heavier than on their last album and featuring twelve blistering, razor- sharp tracks, BURNING POINT’s characteristic melodies are the distinctive core of the band’s sound, shrouded in a captivating depth of powerful melodic heavy metal and epic hard rock anthems. Songs such as the first, previously- released single Blast In The Past ( Listen HERE!), have already showcased Arsonist Of The Soul will mark one of BURNING POINT’s strongest records to date. Now, the band unleashed a brand new single and video, showing off their hard rock (and 80’s) influences in glorious style!
“As anyone can hear it’s very epic and very much Black Sabbath influenced,” Ahonen mentions. “I think this song sums up the album pretty nicely, hard and heavy with a lot of melody!”
Listen to the album title track, Arsonist Of The Soul, right here:
BURNING POINT’s new record was mastered by Juanne Huotari, and shines with its pleasant throwback to early 2000’s heavy metal sound, but with up-to-date production the band is known and loved for. With Arsonist Of The Soul, they definitely raise the bar once more!
Coming out on October 22, 2021 and available as LP, CD and Digital formats, the album pre-sale is now available atTHIS LOCATION!
A KILLER’S CONFESSION, the band led by vocalist Waylon Reavis, have released its brand new single “Tell Your Soul,” featuring Mudvayne vocalist Chad Gray today via Wake Up! Music Rocks. The single is from the band’s highly anticipated third album coming out later this year.
“This song was an amazing collaboration between Sahaj Ticotin, Chad Gray, and myself,” states Waylon Reavis. “It was an honor to work with such true professional artists on such a powerful song. I hope everyone can feel the raw emotion and are moved just like I am when they listen. This song is about forgiveness and acceptance of one’s own shortcomings. I want to thank Chad and Sahaj for being such great friends and recording this song with me. Wombat absolutely crushed this video. Amazing talent all the way around!”
“Waylon has wanted to do a song with me for a very long time, and earlier this year, we tried, but the song just didn’t fit either one of us,” says Chad Gray. “So we went back to the drawing board with Sahaj Ticotin. The song really spoke to me, so we went for it. Everything just seems to fall into place. I’m really excited about this release. My boy Wombat absolutely killed the video. I’m stoked for this song to drop. It’s a nice prelude to some more solo stuff I have on the way. I can’t wait for you all to hear this. Enjoy.”

ROCKBORN’s new single/video, “Rock Me Harder,” was released yesterday, August 6th – which serves as a preview of the group’s forthcoming brand new studio album (arriving in spring 2022).
Comprised of members Lu Reid (vocals), John Lyell (guitar), Dino Serna (bass), and Gary Gabaldon (drums), ROCKBORN is a female-fronted heavy rock band that is intense, sexy, bluesy yet edgy with raspy, sassy power vocals performed with dynamic emotional passion.
Dark, tasty guitar riffs and funky fresh bass lines are lifted up to the stratosphere by hard-hitting, solid drum rhythms and powerful, soaring vocals. ROCKBORN creates music with heartfelt lyrics, emotional depth, melodic intricacies that have modern, contagious hard energy, down-to-earth classic grit, heavy with mystical “Zeppelinesque” romance and enduring timeless appeal.
The “Rock Me Harder” single/video sums it all up perfectly, which can be experienced here:
“‘Rock Me Harder’ was born out of a couple of rough ideas between John, who had this incredibly heavy riff, and some lyrics I had been toying with for quite some time,” explains Lu. “His riff gave me a shove in the right lyrical direction. I needed the foundation and inspiration that his riffs gave me to finish the lyrics, and of course after hearing Dino and Gary throw in their ingenious licks to John’s riffs, I was able to come up with the melody lines and the phrasing needed to kick this song into gear.”
“Overall, this song is a culmination of the synchronicity of all the members of ROCKBORN. I’m very pleased with the ferocity and impactful energy that John, Dino, Gary and I gave to thisvery powerful female empowerment song.I hope that everyone, digs on this fantastic groove that Gary and Dino masterfully perform and also the badass riff and the brilliant lead guitar of John. Most of all I want women to know that they deserve what they want and they can have what they want. Just be bold and ask for it, like ‘Rock Me Harder’ does!”
ROCKBORN is perfectly poised to build upon the buzz created by the Michael Wagener-produced, engineered and mastered previous album, ‘Born to Rock,’ which spawned the popular video “Reasons Why I Cry,” which has received 2.25 million views on YouTube. “Rock Me Harder” most certainly delivers!
