D-Tox were born by the will of Paolo “Dr. Phibes” Caucci and Fabio “FX” Capulli to recreate tipical thrash metal songwriting, but feeling free to contaminate the music with different styles. After many experiences with great historic bands as Maskim, Mindscape, Phoenix Rising, their technique has become modern and solid. They found in Riccardo “Rick Rock” Macrì (Urock, Alan PArsons) the perfect drummer, and in Emanuele “Hellvis” Galanti (Helligators) the perfect voice, becoming a powerful and polyhedric quartet.
Reunited thrashers MANTIC RITUAL have unveiled their new single, “Crusader”. The first new music in 12 years from the reunited group – featuring original members Dan Wetmore (vocals/guitars), Jeff Potts (guitars), and Ben Mottsman (bass) alongside new drummer Carlos Cruz (Warbringer, Exmortus, Power Trip) – is on all streaming and download platforms now. Pre-orders for a limited-edition (300) 7-inch vinyl with “Crusader” as the A-side and the band’s cover of the Mercyful Fate classic “Black Funeral” is set to be released in early 2022 are available now at www.smarturl.com/manticritual.
Says vocalist/guitarist Dan Wetmore, “What’s up, metal wackos, death stare daddies and thrash ragers? I’m pleased to announce the first MANTIC RITUAL release since our 2009 debut on Nuclear Blast. Though it has been a while, the metal flame never died. We aren’t dropping an album at this time, but rather putting out a few smaller releases in anticipation. It’s been a while and we’re stoking the fire, revvin’ up, getting our shit together. Via M-Theory Audio, this 7-inch is just a small taste of what’s to come, and paves the way for a worthy successor to ‘Executioner,’ condensing our thrash, death and punk influences into something competent and pointed.
When I was 18, the thrash revival seemed like a nice jumping point for the pissed-off, metal-head prick I was. I’m still pissed-off, might still be a prick, but shit has landed and it’s way more concise, and I think, way better. Whatever furious adjective-filled heavy metal tagline you choose, I promise the new Mantic Ritual will deliver. Sure, a 7-inch isn’t a big release, but I’m sure it’s bigger than most of you…stay tuned, mates!”
The early beginnings of MANTIC RITUAL were birthed in the band’s hometown of Pittsburgh in 2005. Performing initially under the name Meltdown, the group began building a buzz with Northeast heavy metal fans over the next two years with their combination of boundless thrash enthusiasm and superb songsmanship. The band moved across the country to Los Angeles in 2007, where performances alongside leaders of the budding Southern California thrash revival such as Warbringer, Fueled By Fire, and Merciless Death earned them attention from discerning metal audiences and a record deal with Nuclear Blast Records.
The group soon changed their name to MANTIC RITUAL, and released their first – and so far only – full-length record “Executioner” in March 2009. The album received critical acclaim at the time of its release, with MetalSucks praising the band’s “ability to display solid songcraft while maintaining a high-level of heaviness,” Blabbermouth taking note of their “passion, chemistry and intensity,” and the Washington Post noting that “MANTIC RITUAL’s old-school sensibilities act like a group hug that brings punks and headbangers together.”
MANTIC RITUAL followed up the release of “Executioner” with live touring alongside heavy metal titans such as Rotting Christ and Destruction, before dissolving in 2010. Potts and Mottsman later went on to join Warbringer for their 2013 release, “IV: Empires Collapse,” with Potts himself also performing on Gygax’s 2018 release, “2nd Edition.” Potts, Mottsman, and Wetmore began writing and recording new music together – with Cruz now joining them on drums – in the beginning of 2021.
The unveiling of “Crusader” is only the beginning of this exciting new chapter in the story of MANTIC RITUAL. More information on new music from MANTIC RITUAL will be unveiled in the months to come by M-Theory Audio and at www.facebook.com/manticritual.

Black Metal duo ERNTE just announced to release their debut full-length album, titled “Geist und Hexerei”, on December 3rd via Vendetta Records. Inspired by ancient spirits, as well as cold and barren landscapes, the band’s upcoming record features eight relentless tracks of True Hellvetic Black Metal with an undeniable preference for Nordic melodies. With “Killing Phantasmagoria”, ERNTE just shared a raw & intense insight of what to expect from their upcoming debut.

Being well aware of how to invade the darker side of your soul, the two members of ERNTE are by far no strangers to the scene. After almost 20 years of creating dark ambient music, photography, painting and graphic art, V. Noir decided that it was time to return to the roots: In 2020 his long-time passion for Black Metal found a form of expression in ERNTE, where he is the main songwriter, guitar player and responsible for recording and programming. In Witch N. (vocals, bass, violin) he found an appropriate and experienced co-musician, who played bass and violin in the all-girl Doom Band shEver (2003 – 2012, Svart Records / TotalRust Music) before she started as front woman in the Swiss Black/Doom Band Ashtar (since 2013, Eisenwald, Throne Records).
“Geist und Hexerei” has been recorded and mixed by V. Noir between October 2020 and February 2021 and has been mastered by Greg Chandler (Priory Recording Studios, UK). The album will coming out on LP, CD and tape.
Inspired by arrangements and fusions in modern day music, WITHOUT WARNING have found a balanced yet memorable style. By combining heavy and melodic elements, Without Warning brings an own style to the pop-metal scene. The first single and music video Delusion by this Finnish Turku-based band is released today via Inverse Records.
Guitarist Juuso Javanainen comments: “The first single “Delusion” is a versatile and interesting ensemble with its dynamically changing parts. It is finished with strong pop-vocals as you dive into the theme of a delusional world. In the single you can also hear the finishing touch brought by Pontus Hjelm (guitarist/producer Dead By April) in the electronic sounds, mixing and mastering.”
Ohio, USA based project UNTAMED LAND – the world’s very first metal band incorporating the feral sounds of classic, old western cinematics – will release its sophomore offering, Like Creatures Seeking Their Own Forms, via Napalm Records this Friday, October 8, 2021.
Today, following the release of their soaring, intricate recent singles, “Clothed In Smoke” and “A Nameless Shape”, alongside breathtaking official music videos, UNTAMED LAND has revealed a third single in advance of the new album release. 15-minute opus “The Heavenly Coil” proves an instant standout with organ, harpsichord and acoustics before intertwining with progressive blackened metal ingredients instilled with outlaw temper.
Project mastermind Patrick Kern says about the track: “This song features the most dissonant and intense riffs on the album, but eventually transitions to a sparse and atmospheric mood of contemplation. When the distorted guitar comes back in, the tone is much different, and the story has taken a dramatic twist. You’ll have to listen to the album to see where it goes from here!”
Watch the lyric video for “The Heavenly Coil” here:
While exploring influence and nuances from various strains of atmospheric metal, UNTAMED LAND traverses wild new frontiers – evoking the ambiance of classic Ennio Morricone/Spaghetti Western soundtracks and traditional old western instrumentals. While some listeners may be quick to label this a purely black metal album before diving into its depths, this description only scratches the surface.
UNTAMED LAND mastermind, composer and sole performer of all instruments (except for accented violin performances by Rita Torrens and vocal contributions by Caroline Joy and Jacob Wherley), Patrick Kern, was initially inspired by what he describes as pagan, cosmic and even “doomy” black metal when writing the album, but the material bloomed in a way that is much more multifaceted to be categorized so singularly.

Patrick Kern adds about the album: “I would hesitate to call this a black metal album. It’s meant to be a cinematic journey into a dark and fantastical old west setting, and various genres and sounds are used to bring that story to life. Lyrically, whereas the previous album dealt with the eternal struggle of the solar hero, this time we delve into a sort of gnostic “Beauty and the Beast” story, ultimately revolving around the feminine role in creation and the tension between the world of matter and the world of forms.
The album ended up reflecting my own spiritual journey that occurred all throughout the writing and production process. I had a great time experimenting with many different styles and sounds for this release and am excited to share this new chapter in the UNTAMED LAND world!”
Following the underground success of its 2018 debut, Between The Winds, Like Creatures Seeking Their Own Forms is unique in all its facets – not only is it original, inspiring and an impressively eclectic album, it’s poised to cast the name UNTAMED LAND on the lips of every experimental metal fan upon its release. In a dry landscape of repetitive noise as far as the eye can see, Like Creatures Seeking Their Own Forms is an aural oasis.
