Los Angeles based metalcore rockers STEREO TRAGEDY have unleashed their first single ‘A Bridge Too Far‘ taken from the upcoming self-titled debut album, coming out end of summer/early fall 2021, feat. Bjorn “Speed” Strid on all vocals.

Watch and stream ‘A Bridge Too Far’ here:

Stereo Tragedy on ‘A Bridge Too Far’:
“When we wrote this song, we really wanted to bring something that was consistent with high energy that carries the listener effortlessly from beginning to end, a catchy melody that would be easy for people to sing a long to answer enjoy, and a song that the listener would want to hear “one more time” immediately after the song ended. We hope to have achieved that with this song.” Says guitarist Jacob Bibee.

When listening back to the track, roughly recorded, the idea of vocals came up, Jacob recounts. “Obviously I wasn’t going to get in the way of anything Bjorn “Speed” Strid was going to write, being that he’s the expert, so the entire album vocally is what Bjorn was hearing and made sense to him. In this first single, he brings everything from the lowest of low growls to the highest screams and awesome chorus melodies! Something else I would add is that, anyone that has been through rough times in life is going to relate to this song. Bjorns lyrics are transparent and on point.”

Thomas “Plec” Johansson, owner and producer at The Panic Room Studios, did an outstanding job mixing and mastering the entire record and you’ll feel his expertise when listening to the track.

More on STEREO TRAGEDY:

Stereo Tragedy was birthed 4 July 2019 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, after Jacob Bibee (guitarist, former Sever Your Ties) had a conversation reminiscing of the olden days in the metal scene with James “jimbo” Thomas. Following that conversation, another conversation was had with Amanda, Jacob’s wife, and it was evident that it was time for Jacob to make his reemergence into the music world after a 15 year hiatus.

After 6 months later, after many sleepless nights in the studio and intense composition trying to hone the correct sound for the band, the pandemic hit and the music industry essentially shut down. Jacob being solution oriented, decided to find a way that this whole world meltdown could be beneficial, and that’s when it happened.

Jacob noticed the infamous Bjorn “Speed” Strid post on social media that his bands (Soilwork, Donna Cannone, The Night Flight Orchestra) would no longer be touring for the foreseeable future. Jacob knew that Bjorn had often done guest appearances for bands, but Jacob decided to push the idea of Bjorn actually doing the entire album. After hearing a few songs, Bjorn agreed to do the album as a guest appearance, not as a permanent member, as he is completely busy and in step with his many great projects.

As the project began to unfold, it was time to bring in trusted and respected members into the fold. Jacob then contacted none other than Matt Cohen (bassist, NEW LANGUAGE) and Ryan Severino (drummer, former Scars Of Tomorrow). This was a very easy decision to contact these two as Jacob and Ryan played in a band in South Orange County, CA in the early 2000s, and Matt Cohen’s old bands used to share the stage with Jacob and Ryans bands back then as well.

With the agreement of Matt and Ryan to come on board, and a complete shutdown in Jacobs business ventures due in part to Covid-19, Jacob packed his bags and headed back to his great state of California to be closer to Matt and Ryan in Southern California.

The self-titled debut album was completed in Spring of 2021 and was mixed and mastered by none other than Thomas “Plec” Johansson of The Panic Room in Sweden. The album is set to release late summer 2021.

Once the album has been released, the band will then fill and announce the members of the two remaining roles: vocalist and guitarist.

You know it’s DOWN as soon as you hear them. That’s the way it’s always been, and nothing will ever change that. There’s no mistaking those gargantuan riffs, swamp blues leads, crashing drums, and hypnotic howls for absolutely anybody else under the sun. Philip H. Anselmo, Pepper Keenan, Jimmy Bower, Pat Bruders, and Kirk Windstein uphold a certain tradition that countless fans celebrate, expanding their own musical mythos as they leave its pillars intact and untouched.

With a collective resume encompassing Pantera, Corrosion Of Conformity, Crowbar, and EyeHateGod, the quintet puffed out its first haze of sonic smoke from the belly of gritty old New Orleans on the 1995 platinum-selling classic, NOLA. At that moment, they naturally summoned something akin to a ritual, continually partaking in it with critically revered offerings — Down II: A Bustle In Your Hedgerow in 2002, Down III: Over The Under in 2007, Down IV – Part One in 2012, and Down IV – Part Two in 2014. Their shows built a certain live lore with unforgettable runs alongside Metallica and Heaven & Hell as well as coveted spots on iconic fests like Download, Soundwave, Ozzfest, and so many others forever delivering passionate, powerful, pure heavy music you can feel deep down in your soul.

TOMB OF FINLAND Sign to UPRISING! Records

UPRISING! Records is proud to announce the signing of TOMB OF FINLAND. After two albums (“Below The Green” in 2015 and “Frozen Beneath” in 2018) it is time for the Finnish doom/death/black metal band’s most versatile and sharp cutting material combination yet.

Tight performance with strong melodies and sturdy interpretation will bring the next Tomb Of Finland album “Across The Barren Fields” a step closer to top Finnish metal acts. In contrast to crushing heavy sounds and down-to-earth material, recorded, mixed and produced by main composer and guitarist Jasse Von Hast, the gory soup has now more frail Schlager-influences which makes the combination at least original. Something old. More new.

Tomb Of Finland will achieve 10 years of grave activity in 2022, so what is better than celebrating it with a new album and live audience?

The band comments, exclusively in Finnish: “Kahden edellisen Tomb Of Finland –albumin (”Below The Green” 2015 ja ”Frozen Beneath” 2018) jälkeen on vuorossa yhtyeen monipuolisin ja terävin materiaalikokonaisuus, jonka yhtye on tähänastisella urallaan tehnyt.

Tiukka yhteensoitto liitettynä vahvoihin melodioihin ja juurevaan tulkintaan on viety uusimmalla ”Across The Barren Fields” -albumilla taas yhden askelen lähemmäs suomimetallin terävintä kärkeä. Kitaristi ja pääasiallisen säveltäjän Jasse Von Hastin äänittämän, miksaaman ja tuottaman albumin maanläheisen ja musertavan raskaan äänimaiseman vastapainoksi hurmeiseen liemeen on tuotu entistä enemmän myös hauraanhaikeita schlager-vaikutteita, joiden myötä kombinaatio on sanalla sanoen omatakeinen. Jotain vanhaa. Enemmän uutta.

Tomb Of Finland: in perustamisesta tulee kuluneeksi vuonna 2022 kymmenen vuotta, joten mikä onkaan parempaa kuin juhlia sitä uuden albumin merkeissä sekä liveyleisön edessä!“

HELL’S GUARDIAN Release New Single And Video for “Sentenced”

Italian melodic death metallers HELL’S GUARDIAN are back with a new powerful and epic single called “Sentenced”.

Watch the video for “Sentenced” below. Listen/buy the new single “Sentenced” on major streaming platforms: http://hyperurl.co/kd5484

The band comments:
“This single will not anticipate an album but in this difficult time we felt the need to release new material for ourselves and our fans. ‘Sentenced’ is an ultimatum of the Earth asking for mercy from mankind and to become aware of our actions because we are destroying it. This strong theme led us to have an apocalyptic sound, tight rhythms, impactful guitar riffs, orchestral parts from typical classical instruments to oriental melodies thanks also to the choirs of Marco Pastorino, who took care of the production of the vocal lines.”

In May of this year the band entered the studio at “Media Factory” in Esine (Brescia, Italy) under the guidance of Fabrizio Romani who also mixed and mastered the single. The orchestral parts were conceived by Samuele Faulisi (Atlas Pain) while the choirs and the production of the vocal lines are the work of Marco Pastorino (Temperance, Virtual Symmetry).
The representative artwork was created by the famous Gustavo Sazes (AMARANTHE, KAMELOT, ARCH ENEMY, MACHINE HEAD). The video was made by Tiziano Spigno and Andrea Buratto Truck Me Hard.

HELL’S GUARDIAN were formed in 2009 and released a self-titled demo in 2010, a full-length album entitled “Follow Your Fate” in 2013, an EP “Ex Adversis Resurgo” in 2015 and a second album “As Above So Below” in 2018 which marked an international milestone by opening the doors to important tours with bands such as Sabaton, Amorphis, Children Of Bodom and Trivium.

Finnish DELTREM Release First Single “Social Police”

Finnish groove metallers DELTREM have released their first single “Social Police”!

The idea of Deltrem started to form, when the band’s current guitarist-composer Lauri Halonen started to come up with demos in 2019 just for his own amusement at first. But together with his long time teacher, Mikko Salovaara they started to improve those demos. With Salovaara’s guidance and constantly increasing passion for composing and making music, it was clear to Lauri that he wanted to start a band of his own.

After one hellishly drunken bar night, still uknown to each other, Lauri and the bands soon to be vocalist and composer of lyrics, Tommi met at the after party. They hit it off and so grew the band.

After coming up with ideas to couple of songs, it was time for the new addition to the band. There was no need to go far out to look for the bassist. It was clear we needed someone rough and masculine but who would have even slight brain activity. Therefore Lauri picked up the phone and dialed his long time friend Nico and so was the bass problem solved.

Since Late has always been too interrested in beer and lazy to learn to play solos well, it was clear a solo guitarist was needed. He then remembered Martti, a guitarslinger and former band mate. Martti handles his booze, his pinches wail like husky puppies and solos make you weep like in grandmas funeral.

The drummers seat remains vacant in deltrem yet, after couple of failed candidates. Still we decided that we shall wait no more. It is time for Deltrem to emerge to this world.

THE ABSENCE Release Drum Playthrough Video for “This Consuming Nocturne”

Florida-based melodic death metal masters THE ABSENCE have unveiled a Drum Playthrough video for “This Consuming Nocturne”, the fourth preview track from the group’s new album “Coffinized,” which was released a week ago, via M-Theory Audio.

The video is now Live via the bands YouTube and can be viewed here:

Enjoy The Absence’s Jeramie Kling, as he displays his unmatched style of drumming in this playthrough of This Consuming Nocturne, off of the bands latest release, COFFINIZED! When asked for his thoughts on this song, Jeramie replied: “This song really strikes a chord with me! It resonates deeply. The lyrical content alone makes this tune a blast to play! I love all the little change ups that happen along the way, Taylor’s riffs are the perfect battleground to drive a fast tank through. Enjoy as much as I did! Also, enjoy the bit of Florida wildlife at the beginning, we live here, it’s more than moving pictures.” Vocalist, Jamie Stewart adds: “Jeramie’s drumming on This Consuming Nocturne is just flat out fantastic. It’s a huge component of why I adore the song as much as I do! So being able to watch the Machine in action, it never gets old, EVER!!!”

Hailed by Decibel for “leaving the majority of melodic death metal’s recent history chewing dust,” “Coffinized” – which can be ordered on CD and limited-edition colored vinyl at https://www.nightshiftmerch.com/collections/The-Absence – is THE ABSENCE’s follow-up to their acclaimed 2018 comeback record, “A Gift For The Obsessed.” That album was the band’s first in eight years, as well as their first for new label home M-Theory Audio. The time period between that album’s release and the COVID outbreak saw the band stay busy by taking their new songs to the road, touring alongside acts such as Deicide, Origin, Jungle Rot, Exmortus and Hatchet. The group’s members also stayed busy with outside endeavors, with drummer Jeramie Kling manning the kit for Venom Inc, Goregang and Inhuman Condition; bassist Mike Leon, a member with Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy and guitarist Taylor Nordberg playing with GoreganG, Inhuman Condition, and Massacre.

Those three band members took the experiences from their touring gigs and reconvened in the studio with Stewart – who has also been busy with his other project, Hot Graves – to put together the 11 tracks of pummeling death metal that compose “Coffinized.” The album was produced and engineered by Kling and Nordberg, mixed by Kling and mastered by Jonas Kjellgren (Immortal, Overkill, Scar Symmetry) at Sweden’s Black Lounge Studios. Its track listing is as follows:

Coffinized
Future Terminal
Choirs of Sickness
Radiant DevastaXon
Cathedral Dawn
Black Providence
Discordia
Treacherous
This Consuming Nocturne
Aperture Expands
Faith in Uncreation

THE ABSENCE first burst onto the scene in 2005 with their crushing, Erik Rutan-produced Metal Blade debut “From Your Grave.” That album and its two follow-ups, 2007’s “Riders of the Plague” and 2010’s “Enemy Unbound,” showcased a perfect mixture of heart wrenching melodies and skull-pounding aggression, truly making them one of the premiere bands of the melodic death metal scene. THE ABSENCE further cemented their reputation via numerous tours supporting some of the biggest names in metal, including Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder, Amon Amarth, Sabaton, Goatwhore, Evergrey, Malevolent Creation, Kataklysm and Destruction. Following a lengthy hiatus, the band regrouped in 2016 with a new lineup uniting founding members Stewart and Kling with long-time bassist Leon and guitarists Nordberg and Joey Concepcion for “A Gift for The Obsessed.” (Concepcion appears on four tracks on “Coffinized.”)
