Finland’s BLOODY HELL‘s new album “The Bloodening” hit the mosh pit this past April via Rockshots Records. In support of the record, the band is presenting a new music video for the banger “Midnight Man”. The track tells a story of a man with issues (which any one person can relate to). This was originally one of the first songs the band wrote and it’s simply a straight-up speedster of headbanging glory.
Formed to cause confusion and fear in people who don’t understand what heavy metal is about, Helsinki, Finland’s BLOODY HELL (ft. members of Moottörin Jyrinä, Metal De Facto) have been wowing fans around the globe with their loud, unapologetic, speed demon tyranny for two decades. Known for their drunken wild shows, the band has always presented good times in the circle pit with anthems about drinking, hangovers, devil-worshipping among other important matters.
Taking a hiatus after releasing two EPs, Hangover Riders (2010), What The Hell (2003) and a self-titled album (2015), along with all members focusing to perform with their other project Moottörin Jyrinä (a children’s heavy metal band that plays cover songs from classic 1980s heavy metal songs with child-friendly Finnish language lyrics with an educational tone), the quartet returns in 2021 to continue the party as grumpy old men with strong 18-year-old angst. Their new record “The Bloodening” features 12 fist-pumping songs to kick the band’s new found momentum into overdrive.
For fans of old-school 80’s metal in the vein of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Accept, and Helloween, Bloody Hell’s “The Bloodening” is available at the following links:

“With the release of our new single, we wanted to do something different, something special that hadn’t been done before. A live VR show was the answer and the only company that we could trust to make this happen was NETGIGS.” – Jake Fleming, Audio Reign
“First there were live events. Simple. Turn up and enjoy. But if your favorite event is not in your home town, you would miss out. Then came live streaming which made it possible to see an event, live, from anywhere on the planet with the internet and that feels like being at that live event, but like looking through a window. Netgigs is now ushering in Virtual Reality (VR) with simple headsets to deliver the incredible experience of being at a live music concert as it happens, wherever it happens. Not like watching TV, but an immersive experience as close as possible to feel like you are in the action not watching it from afar. You can enjoy the show from the front row being a part of the live crowd and can even be on stage with your favorite artist!” – Philip Vafiadis, Netgigs Chairman-Elect
Audio Reign is a powerhouse Rock band from Australia. MR Records is excited to be involved with the release of their new single and EP of the same name ‘RELENTLESS’ The single has a strong message of the times we are all living in. Audio Reign supported Kip Winger in 2020 in an acoustic setting and blew the crowd away. We look forward to working with Audio Reign as we feel they have a great and exciting future ahead. – Peter Naylor, A&R, MR Records
AUDIO REIGN was formed in 2011 with the vision of creating an inimitable Australian Rock sound, molding driving heavy guitars with melodic vocals and harmonies.
The band’s debut EP ‘Find Your Way’, mastered by the iconic Jens Bogren (Dragonforce, Opeth) was released to coincide with their unforgettable festival debut at the Big Day Out in Australia in 2014 with an audience of over 15,000 die-hard rock fans.
Following on from their breakthrough single Find Your Way, Audio Reign’s first full-length album offers a proper taste of what they are capable of: a monster storm of huge, driving guitars, soaring melodic vocals and an unstoppable rhythm section. Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Jarred Nettle, the album delivers a flurrying combination of writing, performance and production – capturing epic hooks and supercharging them with the ferocity of the band’s live sound. From their heaviest song to their most ethereal, Audio Reign wields an immense level of energy.
The album’s first single, Betrayal, is a hard rock tour de force. Hard-hitting and relentless, it sets a musical and lyrical tone that is abundant throughout the album: raw emotion and undiluted power. Vivisecting an act of treachery, the song casts a stark light on a shadowy deception, delivered by the unmistakable voice of frontman/guitarist Jake Fleming. Driving his vocals like a battering ram; the irreplaceable legion of Alek Dyrynda (lead guitar), Ash Lovett (bass) and Dieter Schoell (drums).
Seasoned performers since forming in 2011, this lineup is adept and versatile – able to switch from high octane tracks like Betrayal to intense slow-burners like the emotionally charged Senses. Recent performances with the hugely successful (US) rockers ‘Skillet’ & ‘Pop Evil’ have demonstrated the band’s ability to hold their own at this level and highlight the recognition this band is receiving, confirming they are ready to explode! With an incredible live show, a loyal and growing fanbase, and a repertoire of their most electrifying material to date, there is so much potential coursing through Audio Reign that their future could very well be to preside at the top echelon of Australian rock. That journey, long and arduous as it may be, starts right here with one of the best hard rock debut albums of the year.
Florida-based melodic death metal masters THE ABSENCE have unveiled a live action lyric video for “This Consuming Nocturne”, the fourth preview track from the group’s new album “Coffinized,” which will be released in 2 days, June 25 via M-Theory Audio.
The video is now Live via the bands YouTube and can be viewed here:
“With the lyric video for This Consuming Nocturne we went for a silent film visual, coupled with the song’s gloomy, yet triumphant atmosphere. The track itself, also serves in part as a sequel to the song Walking Shadows, released in 2019. Where Walking Shadows speaks of a dark, self-reflective realization, This Consuming Nocturne is about searching through the darkness itself, facing the lonely registers of night. It’s about finding your answers, waiting under the drape of twilight.”
Hailed by Decibel for “leaving the majority of melodic death metal’s recent history chewing dust,” “Coffinized” – which can be pre-ordered on CD and limited-edition colored vinyl at https://www.nightshiftmerch.com/collections/The-Absence – is THE ABSENCE’s follow-up to their acclaimed 2018 comeback record, “A Gift For The Obsessed.” That album was the band’s first in eight years, as well as their first for new label home M-Theory Audio. The time period between that album’s release and the COVID outbreak saw the band stay busy by taking their new songs to the road, touring alongside acts such as Deicide, Origin, Jungle Rot, Exmortus and Hatchet. The group’s members also stayed busy with outside endeavors, with drummer Jeramie Kling manning the kit for Venom Inc., bassist Mike Leon, a member with Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy and guitarist Taylor Nordberg playing with Massacre.
Those three band members took the experiences from their touring gigs and reconvened in the studio with Stewart – who has also been busy with his other project, Hot Graves – to put together the 11 tracks of pummeling death metal that compose “Coffinized.” The album was produced and engineered by Kling and Nordberg, mixed by Kling and mastered by Jonas Kjellgren (Immortal, Overkill, Scar Symmetry) at Sweden’s Black Lounge Studios. Its track listing is as follows:
Coffinized Future Terminal Choirs of Sickness Radiant DevastaXon Cathedral Dawn Black Providence Discordia Treacherous This Consuming Nocturne Aperture Expands Faith in Uncreation
THE ABSENCE first burst onto the scene in 2005 with their crushing, Erik Rutan-produced Metal Blade debut “From Your Grave.” That album and its two follow-ups, 2007’s “Riders of the Plague” and 2010’s “Enemy Unbound,” showcased a perfect mixture of heart wrenching melodies and skull-pounding aggression, truly making them one of the premiere bands of the melodic death metal scene. THE ABSENCE further cemented their reputation via numerous tours supporting some of the biggest names in metal, including Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder, Amon Amarth, Sabaton, Goatwhore, Evergrey, Malevolent Creation, Kataklysm and Destruction. Following a lengthy hiatus, the band regrouped in 2016 with a new lineup uniting founding members Stewart and Kling with long-time bassist Leon and guitarists Nordberg and Joey Concepcion for “A Gift for The Obsessed.” (Concepcion appears on four tracks on “Coffinized.”)
BLACK STONE CHERRY and Mascot Records / Mascot Label Group have announced the digital only release of an expanded edition of the band’s seventh studio album, The Human Condition on August 27. The band shares, “Tracy Chapman’s voice and songs are absolutely timeless. We have always been fans of her music, especially “Give Me One Reason”. Chris has always sounded so great singing this song, so we decided to record a quick version in the studio. We would have never imagined the positive feedback we received from something we thought was just a fun version of an already great song! We hope y’all dig it!”
The Human Condition was completed mere days before the COVID-19 lockdown was imposed and as events progressed, it became apparent that the album the Kentucky band were completing featured lyrics that were eerily prescient. At the time of the album announcement, drummer John Fred Young offered, “There was a real urgency and fear of the unknown during those sessions – it was a scary time. Every song on this album tells a story of the experiences we all go through – our happiness, our struggles, and how we have to adapt.” To date, cumulative streaming of the repertoire featured on the album exceeds 24 million plays. The single “Alone,” which was a Top 15 hit on the Active Rock charts, accounts for 15 million of these streams. The complete track listing of the upcoming expanded edition will be announced in the coming weeks.

The new album by SUIDAKRA was released on Friday, 25 June! “Wolfbite” contains 9 songs full of uncompromisingness and joy of playing. The collaboration with Aljoscha Sieg for mixing and mastering, which seems unusual at first glance, results in a breathtaking, lively sound, which from the very first note makes any scepticism about whether Suidakra still sound like Suidakra in 2021 evaporate. And how they do!
Another preview of the band’s 14th longplayer, “Vortex Of Carnage”, is now available on the MDD Records Youtube channel. If you decide to buy a digital copy of the album on Bandcamp, you will, only there, get the 24-page booklet and the 50-page comic book with the story behind “Wolfbite” illustrated by Kris Verwimp as a PDF download!
On July 16th, Berlin’s SPACE CHASER will release their new album, Give Us Life, via Metal Blade Records. For a preview of the record, a video for the new single, “The Immortals”, can be viewed here:
The first single, “Remnants of Technology”, can be heard at: metalblade.com/spacechaser – where Give Us Life is available in various formats.
Nothing can beat the thrill of thrash at its best, and no one is keeping the spirit and sound of the genre alive quite like Space Chaser. Marking their ten-year anniversary with their third full-length, Give Us Life, they are returning in force and once again establishing their importance in the scene. “What we do is contemporary Thrash Metal, if you will, and while still having the ‘old-school’ elements everyone loves, we try to incorporate some of the influences that we expose ourselves to. Over the last ten years, this kind of music progressed a lot, and of course that has its influence on us. But what we do is still Thrash Metal, we just hope we’re able to translate it a little bit better into 2021.”
The album was recorded at their go-to studio, Berlin’s Hidden Planet, with Jan Oberg, who the band acknowledge is a rather unknown name in the metal scene, but his work proves up to par with international standards nonetheless. The songs were produced by guitarist Leo Schacht and drummer Matthias Scheuerer with the help of Oberg, and for mastering they had Dan Swanö of Unisound Studios at the helm. “It was the smoothest recording process we have ever had. Everybody went in perfectly prepared and every idea worked out just how we anticipated. It’s almost surreal, though being satisfied with your production can lead you to get lost in details forever – and the intro for ‘Burn Them All’ was a bitch!” Acknowledging that it feels weird to have reached their tenth anniversary already, this landmark has only stoked the fires. “We never felt so pumped and ready for whatever life throws at us,” they say, and asking what they see when they look to the band’s future, they are emphatic. “World domination! Well…sort of. I think every band just wants to get as big a name in the metal world as possible, and we are no exception. We really hope to expand our fanbase outside of Germany with ‘Give Us Life‘, and we never even dreamt of getting the chance to release a record through Metal Blade. Furthermore, we definitely want to tour a lot as soon as we are allowed to. We are anxious to leave Europe for the first time, and we want to prove that we are capable of delivering on an international standard.”
