POLYCHUCK To Release Musically Eclectic EP ‘Shadows Exposed’ on July 23rd

Few modern day popular music artists are as all-genre encompassing as POLYCHUCK.

A great guitar shredder since the age of only 13, Montreal artist Polychuck is now an innovative and ever-maturing singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and high profile guitar coach who’s ready to take the rock world by storm with multiple singles and a forthcoming EP, ‘Shadows Exposed’ (to be released in July, date TBA), and new video, “Exposure,” which can be experienced here:

With roots firmly planted in his hometown’s rock and metal scenes while possessing a musical curiosity matching his unbridled talent, Polychuck has sincerely embraced a wide variety of genres ranging from extreme metal to electro-pop, with ventures in alternative rock, urban trap beats, synth pop and folk.

Polychuck’s fascinating musical and personal journey is chronicled in singles such as “Nailed to the X”, a celebration of the artist’s straight edge lifestyle hailed by numerous blogs, including B-Sides and Badlands.

Now going back to his rock and metal roots with brand new singles “In The Dark” and “Exposure”, Polychuck aims to take his music to a whole new level and leave an undeniable, lasting, mark of his own in the realm of rock music.

And all of the EP’s 5 tracks are winners – “Beating Myself Down” (which Polychuck describes as “is a satirical caricature of the emo movement”), “Exposure” (“this alternative/rap rock song is an anthem on broken trust”), “In the Dark” (“inspired by Bring Me The Horizon, Linkin Park and Issues-era Korn all while adding my own personal spin”), “Driving Me Mad” (“this one is my EDM inspired rock track”), and “Lights Out” (“an emotional song about overcoming obstacles of life and rising through adversity”).

The multi-talented Polychuck played, produced, recorded and mastered everything that you hear on the EP, and has amassed an impressive arsenal of instruments that he utilized – a Suhr Modern (desert gradient finish) on all tracks (solos), Guerilla 7 string hand built in Canada (dark cyan finish) on “In the Dark,” or his LTD EC-1000 (white) on all tracks except “in the Dark.”

Additionally, Polychuck has been training in MMA and Muay Thai for 4 years. He has never competed in major pro level fights, but he does participate in some underground (so-called “smokers”) fights. These fights are not officially legalized, but rather in a grey zone. Polychuck also teaches guitar professionally (he lists Paul Gilbert, Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Howe as his top six-string influences), including to some established players in established bands.

With most modern artists sounding quite one-dimensional, predictable, and same-sounding as their competition, the hard-to-pin-down Polychuck is a most welcome arrival on the music scene, as heard throughout ‘Shadows Exposed.’

‘SHADOWS EXPOSED’ TRACKLIST:

  1. Beating Myself Down
  2. Exposure
  3. In the Dark
  4. Driving Me Mad
  5. Lights Out

Apple Music: https://apple.co/3guNszm
Amazon: https://amzn.to/2Txvlzy
Tidal: https://listen.tidal.com/album/186296403/

Pekka Johansson from Noutaja backgrounds the single: “All I had to do was throw out the idea that we should probably play some death metal. The band was immediately there and working from day one! It really felt like we were like 15 year old dudes making music that is larger than life. The vibes were packed with energy and I feel we captured that on the record.Born onto Hawthorns was a logical choice as the first single because it was also the first song we ever wrote together. No holds barred from the first riff on, which incidentally was the first Noutaja riff ever played! You don’t have to be a super genius to hear some of the influences being channeled from our hands to your home speakers! This is the real thing. Out of love towards the game.”

HEAVY WATER Release Infectious New Single And Video ‘Revolution’

Father/son power-house HEAVY WATER release the hard-hitting, infectious single ‘Revolution’ today, taken from their debut album, Red Brick City, set for release via Silver Lining Music on July 23rd 2021.

Brimming with swagger and high-octane gritty riffs, ‘Revolution’ is a song that will hit you hard in the face and then some. Topped off with Seb’s rich, raunchy vocals, Heavy Water take no prisoners with a very poignant message to deliver.

“We wrote this about global warming and pollution not being told the truth about the impact over the years” explains Seb

“Companies are still belching smoke into the atmosphere and polluting rivers” adds Biff.

Heavy Water’s debut album Red Brick City is the result of a lockdown 2020 project between Saxon’s Biff Byford and his son Seb Byford, ten songs which bring you on an irrepressible raw blues-backed journey through influences and invention, a journey which has you hooked from the first note.

The foundations for Heavy Water’s sound are set in both that incredible father/son chemistry and a lifetime of know-how and experiences. Take the title track -and first single- ‘Red Brick City’: all steam and smoulder wrapped around a riff Soundgarden would’ve been proud of, and then there’s the sun-soaked smile of ‘Follow This Moment’ with harmonies evoking the Beach Boys relayed through Led Zeppelin, a gorgeous ‘70s trip right down to the fade out. Indeed, from the taut, elastic swing of the ‘Solution’ riff to the rich, layered balladic strains of ‘Tree in the Wind’, Red Brick City moves with the class and cadence of a cracking journey uniting vintage Rock ‘n’ Roll sensibilities with the crackle and excitement of a fresh, youthful perspective.

Watch/Listen to the recently released ‘Red Brick City’ here.

Seb Byford recorded and engineered Red Brick City at the Big Silver Barn in York, UK, while the drums were recorded by Ben Hammond at Reel Recording Studio in York. Seb produced the album with Biff, and Jacky Lehmann mastered. Red Brick City sees Seb take the reins on guitar and vocals, with Biff taking up the bass and vocal mantle. Tom Witts plays the drums, while Dave Kemp rounds out the Heavy Water line-up on keyboards and saxophone. A rich, lustrous ride through profoundly rewarding rock waters. To cap off this family affair, the packaging photos were taken by Steph Byford.

On July 23rd 2021, there’s going to be a new Rock ‘n’ Roll sheriff in town, and as their name suggests, Heavy Water aren’t for the light-hearted. Dive in, and soak yourself in the purity of their music.

Red Brick City will be released on July 23rd 2021, via Silver Lining Music. Available as a CD Digipak, Coloured Vinyl Album, digital formats and special D2C bundles. For pre-orders, go to THIS LOCATION

BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE To Release Self-Titled Studio Album On October 22nd

BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE have announced their self-titled, seventh album Bullet For My Valentine. The record will be released on October 22nd via Spinefarm/Search & Destroy and sees the band open a bold new chapter. It’s easily their heaviest, fiercest album so far.

Watch the video for the new single “Knives,” directed by Fiona Garden, HERE.”

This is the beginning of Bullet 2.0,”says vocalist and lead guitarist Matt Tuck. “It signifies where we are right now. The music is fresh, it’s aggressive, it’s more visceral and passionate than it’s ever been.” Bullet For My Valentine follows the success of their last album, 2018’s Gravity, which saw the metal juggernauts’ catalogue surpass 1 BILLION (yes, with a B!) streams in the U.S. That accomplishment solidifies Bullet’s hard-earned status as one of the most elite bands in the hard rock scene.

On the last cycle, Bullet For My Valentine played their biggest shows to date, including a UK arena tour and a massive show at London’s Alexandra Palace. But this time around, the band has taken things back to basics. Bullet For My Valentine is stacked with squealing solos and monstrous riffs that will delight fans—both new and old.

“I think it’s the most ferocious side of Bullet For My Valentine that I’ve ever known,” says lead guitarist Michael “Padge” Paget. “It’s time for us to put out a really angry, heavy, aggressive record. I just can’t wait to grimace on stage!”

“I wanted to come out guns blazing, fucking middle fingers flying, and just go for the throat,” agrees Tuck. “I think this is a far more aggressive, intense part of Bullet For My Valentine. It’s always been there. I’ve just never opened the floodgates on it. I want to take people’s heads off in a metaphorical way.”

True to their word, the first single, “Knives,” arrives like a punch in the face.

Tuck began writing the album in September 2019 before the Coronavirus pandemic brought things screeching to a halt in early 2020. But in June 2020, Tuck and long-time producer, Carl Bown, who co-produced the band’s 2015 album, Venom, and produced and mixed Gravity, picked up the pace again. Together, they hunkered down at Treehouse Studio in Chesterfield, where the remainder of the album was written.

Aptly self-titled, the band has triumphed, creating an album that will cements its place in the metal pantheon.

Pre-orders for Bullet For My Valentine’s seventh studio album are now live, with an instant download of the first single, “Knives,” and special bundle options, including a unique clipping from the backdrop used on the bands ‘Venom’ world tour from 2015 –2017, t-shirts, hoodies, gold & silver cassettes, and limited vinyl. OURS Announce U.S. Tour Dates In Support Of New Self-Titled Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on June 19, 2021
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: OURS. Leave a comment

OURS is a common feeling, a shared emotion, a raw power played through a guitar. And drums. And bass. And keyboards. And even a string section. OURS makes timeless music that defies comparison but comparisons will be made. It’s only natural. OURS is unique but universal.

We can all relate to the love, angst, hope, despair, beauty and reverence that are exhaled into their new self-titled album of sonic bliss, released May 14th (which can be downloaded or streamed at https://smarturl.it/oursours), with U.S. tour dates to follow throughout the month of August.

“The performances, production, and songs on this album show the band in their most exciting and radiant form to date,” explains OURS leader Jimmy Gnecco. “The songs are built to get 80,000 people a night up on their feet and feeling a part of this universal positive energy, while not sacrificing the personal emotional connection.”

Check out the first video from the album (directed by Jared Barel), for the standout track, ‘Bring It On,’ here:

Dubbed “the greatest singer in rock music today” on the sub-Reddit group “singing,” Gnecco spares no note in his desire to take the listener to a place of self-contemplation, via a cacophony of sound and a multi-octave range. “The music is a reflection of the audience,” says the mastermind behind it. “It’s all connected.”

The OURS story includes such highlights and accomplishments as signing with Dreamworks Records (after a very competitive bidding war), and then later signing with Rick Rubin and American/Columbia Records. The band has also worked with producers Steve Lilliwhite, Rick Rubin, and Ethan Johns on past records, and collaborated with Brian May of Queen for the ‘Spider-Man 2’ soundtrack. OURS also has had songs licensed to NCIS, CSI, and used in the movie ‘Zero Dark Thirty,’ has collaborated/sang with The Disco Killerz and Morgan Page for the EDM hit ‘Stellar,’ plus opening tour slots with Lana Del Rey, A-Ha, and the Cult.

Each song on this new album has a different vibe but an over-arching feel that sews them together, like a film. “I feel as though we have a good balance of stadium anthems, songs that make you think, and those that you can sing along to,” Gnecco ponders.

‘Are You Listening’ is brash and breathy right out of the gate, with Gnecco’s signature belt and swagger. The jangly guitar of ‘See The Light’ invokes Rival Sons mixed with Soundgarden for good measure. ‘Lose Control’ will convert Muse fans into OURS fans, while ‘Echo’ …. well, echoes Prince in the most respectful way. If you’re a fan of U2, Coldplay, Florence & The Machine, Dépêche Mode or Bela Lugosi, you will get OURS. You’ll just understand.

What can fans expect from the upcoming OURS tour? “The band is on fire. The uplifting feeling that we are getting between each other while playing the songs feels incredibly contagious.”

TOUR DATES:

8/11/21: Austin – 3Ten
8/12/21: Dallas – Three Links

ARYOKAL is a Finnish band that creates esoteric electronic music. Antti Ruokola is responsible for the band’s compositions and soundscapes while Pekka Loponen handles the vocals. The band’s influences come on a large scale from bands / artists with a darker atmosphere.

The new single, CHROME INSIGNIA, has an organic cold feel to it. The air is crisp and cold, yet you can feel the quietly falling snow to be warm.

CHROME INSIGNIA was released on June 16, 2021 on all the major digital platforms. This single is the second release of Aryokal and the duo is set to concentrate their artistic efforts in creating more music going forward.
