Brazilian APRIL 21st Take on Depression with New “Healing My Wounds” Music Video & Single

Brazilian metalcore band APRIL 21st have revealed a new music video and single for the song “Healing My Wounds“. The video was directed by Lucas Akira and Romulo Machado. “Healing My Wounds” is the first single from the band’s new EP entitled Courage Is Born from Fear which is scheduled for a worldwide release on September 10, 2021 via Eclipse Records. Watch it right now on YouTube at this location.

“This song tells a story in first person, the moment when someone is unable to visualize the solution for their problems and they go into deep depression” says guitarist Herbert. “The chorus is an inner voice screaming that it is necessary to be strong to continue, and that nobody can help you except for yourself. In the video, we are representing this ongoing fight between someone’s mind and their demons, as an actual fight in a boxing ring. The message is simple though; we have to keep fighting and believe in ourselves no matter how difficult a situation seems to be.”

The band’s new EP album Courage Is Born from Fear contains five tracks that are both intense and honest. The album was produced by Bruno Barros (Skank, Toninho Horta, Lagun) at the renowned Sonasterio studios in the beautiful mountains of Minas Gerais, Brazil, and the cover art was designed by Lucas Akira. The first single “Healing my Wounds” contains a harmony element that redefines what a verse riff might be, while the second single “Decision”, spotlights the fastest and tightest bass drum hummingbird 16ths in a blast beat that we ever might have the pleasure of hearing (and feeling right down to the marrow). “Struggling to Break This Cycle” explodes through our headphones with enough drive and funk to satisfy the most serious of metal freaks, and “Stand up and Scream” features a platform guitar solo that is the epitome of melody and speed in a glorious hybrid.

For more information on April 21st, please follow them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or Eclipse Records.

Death doom outfit HOODED MENACE will be releasing their new full-length album, ‘The Tritonus Bell,’ on August 27 via Season of Mist! The band is now sharing the second new single, “Chime Diabolicus,” which can be heard at THIS LOCATION.

Guitarist Lasse Pyykkö comments on the new album and track: “Just like the lead single ‘Blood Ornaments,’ the second premiere track ‘Chime Diabolicus’ showcases very well where Hooded Menace is in 2021, offering some 80´s heavy metal vibes, catchy and powerful vocals, better crafted solos, and a faster pace while never forgetting the band´s roots in slow death/doom style. Actually, the slower riff, somewhere in the middle of the song where the second solo kicks in, is one of our heaviest.”

Pre-orders are now live HERE

1. Chthonic Exordium (1:16)
2. Chime Diabolicus (8:10) (LISTEN)
3. Blood Ornaments (9:01) (WATCH)

THE HORNETS Share New Track ‘Superman (Nietzsche)’ From Upcoming Album

The coolest nights, you know, happen by chance. For THE HORNETS and the release of their first album, it was more or less like that. A band formed for fun, for leisure, to get out of the usual work routine, to give voice to some love failures, or to flip off a bad day, or simply to escape from other musical projects. Featuring nine tracks of pure and passionated Rock ‘n’ Roll energy, the band’s debut full length record, titled “Heavier Than A Stone”, will be coming out on July 16th via Go Down Records.

After the previously- released track “Female Creed“, THE HORNETS now unleashed the second single taken off the upcoming album.

Listen to “Superman (Nietzsche)” here:

“The ‘superman’, a talented figure, idolized and envied by all for some particular characteristic, but which at the same time creates discomfort and a peculiar annoyance that only very few are able to admit and show. Aren’t you one of those very few? Here is the right song! ‘Superman (Nietzsche)’, the second single from The Hornets is an edgy, neurotic song, played with particular vital energy with an undefined vocal line, but what does it matter – guitars do it!” the band comments.

Tracklist:

  1. Don’t Talk About Love
  2. Female Creed
  3. Superman (Nietzsche)
  4. Get Out (..Baby Get Out!)
  5. Fighting Man
  6. The Best
  7. 1997
  8. Rockstar’s Syndrome
  9. Not So Easy

“Heavier Than A Stone” will be coming out on July 16th via Go Down Records and is now available for pre-order HERE

With the 17th September set for the release of MONSTEREO‘s latest studio outing, Karisma Records have revealed details of “In the Hollow of a Wave”, the third full-length album the Bergen Rockers.

Known for over a decade as a band that serves up energetic rock songs, MONSTEREO have come up with an album that is by far their heaviest to date, with a sound that is richer and broader than anything they have ever produced.  With more keyboards, synths, and a variety of guitars, “In the Hollow of a Wave” is,  according to the band, an album of filled with “teeth-grinding riffs, big choruses and rock-solid grooves”.

And, as of today,  fans get their first taste of “In the Hollow of a Wave”, with the release of “A Sudden Rush” the first single from the album, which, according to MONSTEREO, is:

An all out, in-your-face rock and roll banger. Perfect for a late summer night drenched in beer and drunken conversations, or a 50/50 strawberry daquiri at a music festival. This is a classic 1970s rock tune, with blazing guitars and a speaker-ripping groove. A homage to legends such as AC/DC and Grand Funk Railroad, topped with a smidge of inspiration from local produce in Bergen’s Electric Eye and The Megaphonic Thrift

“A Sudden Rush” is available to download or stream from a variety of services at https://karismarecords.fanlink.to/Monstereo_ASuddenRush

Whilst a video for “A Sudden Rush” can be seen below.

MONSTEREO’s  lineup consistis of Ola Utaaker Segadal on lead vocals and electric guitars, Øyvind Aase Fluge on electric guitars, Jørgen Stangeland Bach on Bass guitar, and Jon Bolstad on Drums. Together  they have created an album whose tracks represent the best of two worlds and  is filled with MONSTEREO’s trademark catchy melodies, heavy riffs and a big sound, which combine  with exploratory instrumental sections to  build towards a euphoric climax.

With artwork by Robert Høyem, track listing for “In the Hollow of a Wave” is as follows:

  1. Third Eye Seeing
  2. A Sudden Rush
  3. Wings I: Everlasting Darkness
  4. Jigsaw
  5. Witness
  6. Wings II: Beyond Horizons
  7. Wings III: Icarus

Napalm Records is proud to announce the signing of melodic/death metal juggernaut BRYMIR, hailing from Helsinki, Finland. The outfit features Joona Björkroth (Battle Beast) on guitars and started out to stir up the scene in 2011 with their debut full-length, Breathe Fire to the Sun, uniting folk metal influences with cinematic soundscapes and hard hitting, fast-paced melodic death impacts that became even more present on the sophomore record, Slayer of Gods (2016).

Since their formation in 2006, BRYMIR has shared stages with various greats like Children Of Bodom, Wolfheart, Ensiferum and Finntroll – just to name a few. After their highly anticipated third release, Wings of Fire (2019), and smashing festivals like Summer Breeze, Tuska Festival or the Nordic Metal Cruise, BRYMIR are currently working on new music, set for release via Napalm Records in 2022.

BRYMIR frontman and vocalist Viktor Gullichsen on the signing:
“We are beyond excited to announce that BRYMIR has signed a worldwide recording contract with the legendary label Napalm Records. With this newly-forged alliance we are headed towards a whole new level of opportunity and conquest. Are you ready for the coming storm? We sure as hell are!”
