Glasgow Kiss are back with a furious new music video and single entitled “Forsaken”. The Norwegian Hard Rock / Alternative Metal band’s new music video was directed by Bård Leite at USF Verftet and Kongen in Bergen, Norway. This is the second single & music video taken from their upcoming full-length album Down In Flames which will be released on December 12, 2025 via Eclipse Records. The album was produced by Glasgow Kiss, and mixed/mastered by Peter Michelsen (Rat City, Madelene, Byting) at The Norwegian Sound studio. Tracking by Dan Mikal Ultang at Secret Location Studio, w/ vocal tracking at Elephant Studios.

Watch their “Forsaken” music video right now:

“The song and video both come from a place of feeling stuck” says lead vocalist Charlotte Marlen Midtun. “As it evolved, the contrast between the black room and the open park became a way to mirror the emotional journey in the song about the quiet weight that builds up when you can’t quite find your way out. There’s something deeply personal in that, even if it isn’t tied to one story. Making this video felt like confronting those feelings head-on, and in that process, we grew as a band. It taught us to trust simplicity, to let emotion lead instead of overthinking. What we hope people take away is that sense of recognition — that even in the dark, there’s something human, something honest, that connects us all.”

The band’s debut album, Down in Flames, is a burst of sweet dichotomy, altered reflections, foils, doppelgangers, and visions of the self through enchanting and fractured perspectives. First off, the lyrics are devastating portraits of loneliness, toxicity, grief and loss, desire and darkness. The contrast; however, is the rhythm guitar sound: a bold power-rock groove that launches us into the stratosphere, almost as if the band first tempts us to make love with our own misery, just to shake it off and rock ‘til we drop. In conjunction with the band’s overall theme of aesthetic duality, lead vocalist Charlotte Marlen Midtun puts on a clinic of tonal dynamics and emotional depth. From captivating soaring high range to powerful gritty belting to delicate passages in the mid-range, her remarkable range makes for a compelling emotional performance. Moreover, and more specifically, one cannot listen to this record without appreciating the mix on the vocals. Charlotte is produced sonically to be right in our ear, deep in our minds straight down through the heart, and when harmonies are added, they are produced as elegant backdrop, a whisper, like lace. This technique would, at first, seem like the natural “go-to” for most projects, but the effect is quite new compared with the latest trend in the industry to bring the harmony tracks equal in volume and tonality, creating what some might refer to as a “choral wash.” Glasgow Kiss; however, do not “wash” or dilute a darned thing. They write our stories, raw and unedited. All things considered, Glasgow Kiss offer us Down in Flames so we can relate to their sorrow and share in their joy. They prove to us that the two opposite viewpoints can live simultaneously, that both can be true, that both make a beautiful, delicate balance. We can confide in Glasgow Kiss. We come to them with our demons, and they give us a safe space. We include them in our victories and they high-five us when we all reach the top of the mountain. The album was produced by Glasgow Kiss, and mixed/mastered by Peter Michelsen (Rat City, Madelene, Byting) at The Norwegian Sound studio, with tracking by Dan Mikal Ultang at Secret Location Studio. Vocal were tracked at Elephant Studios. Artwork for the album and singles was created by Frode Andreassen and Sveinung Sveen. Down In Flames by Glasgow Kiss will be released on December 12, 2025 via Eclipse Records.

Iranian-Norwegian CONFESS Unveiled New Single ‘I’m Your God Now’

Follow on from the success of their previous singles, “Teh-Hell-Ran” and “Thorn Within”, Iranian-Norwegian metallers Confess unveiled their latest single “I’m Your God Now” on October 15th! The track comes from the re-release of their second album “In Pursuit Of Dreams” on November 7th through their EVIN Productions imprint, complete with three previously unheard tracks; “Watch The Decay Of Sun”, “Convention”, and “Face-Off”.

Discussing the track, the band have stated:
“When I first wrote “I’m Your God Now”, it carried the rage and defiance of a time when speaking out came with real consequences. Remastering them isn’t about nostalgia. It’s about sharpening the blade. These songs are part of my fight, and now they sound the way they were always meant to be heard.”

The band went on to discuss the re-release of the album, frontman Nikan Khosravi has said:
“To mark the 10th anniversary of “In Pursuit of Dreams”, we are proud to announce a reissue of the album, freshly remastered and featuring three previously unreleased songs, finally revealed after a decade.

This isn’t just an album; it’s a piece of history. The last record we dropped while still in Iran, it became a lightning rod for rebellion, defiance, and unapologetic expression. Just two weeks after its release, the authorities arrested us for its incendiary, protest-fuelled lyrics. This was the spark that ignited a movement and put us on the global map. Widely regarded as one of the most impactful and groundbreaking metal albums in the history of the Middle East, we believe “In Pursuit of Dreams” firmly established our place in the metal world.”

The tracklisting for “In Pursuit Of Dreams” is:
1. Teh-Hell-Ran
2. I’m Your God Now!
3. See You on the Other Side
4. Thorn Within
5. 5 Years in Cave
6. What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Exhausted!
7. Tsunami of Hate
8. New World Order
9. Aborted Déjà Vu
10. Dysentery
11. I Want Nothing More but the Past…
12. The Alphabet of Power
13. Did You Get My Last Message?
14. The Last One Standing
15. Watch the Decay of Sun (Bonus Track)
16. Convention (Bonus Track)
17. Face-Off (Bonus Track)

2025 has been an incredible year for Iranian-Norwegian metallers Confess. Back in January, they released stunning new album, “Destination Addiction”, which was produced by frontman Nikan Khosravi, mixed and mastered by Grammy-nominated Alberto De Icaza (Amon Amarth, Clutch, Miss May I, Dead Cross, Upon A Burning Body) and featured performances from extreme metal luminaries George Kollias (Nile) and Marzi Montazeri (ex-Phil Anselmo and Illegals, ex-Superjoint Ritual, ex-Exhorder, Heavy As Texas). Going on to secure rave reviews from the like of Metal Hammer, Norway Rock Magazine, Inferno Magazine, and more.

The band have since been announced for a full feature episode on their story as part of the HULU show “Into The Void: Life, Death & Heavy Metal”, which released in the US on September 22nd. Speaking about their inclusion, Khosravi said:
“To have our story told on Hulu and Disney+ by VICE Studios Canada alongside legends like Judas Priest and Randy Rhoads, is unreal. For us, this isn’t just about music. It’s about survival, resistance, and proving that metal has no borders.

Confess has always been about speaking truth through distortion and fury, and this documentary proves that no system can silence metal. We were once called criminals for playing heavy music, now our story is streaming worldwide. That’s not just a win for us. It’s a victory for the entire global metal scene. To be featured alongside the legends we grew up idolizing is an honour we’ll never take lightly. We stand as living proof that metal is alive, dangerous, and unstoppable.”

Formed in 2010 in Tehran, Iran, the band’s ideology reflects the experiences of living under a theoretical political system, combining critiques of organized religion with commentary on sociopolitical issues and personal struggles. Their debut album, “Beginning of Dominion”, was released on January 1st, 2012. By 2014, Confess had released four singles and an EP titled “Back to My Future [2/4]”. The single ‘Encase Your Gun’ emerged after the Iranian regime suppressed the Green Movement in 2009.

Arrests and Imprisonment:

On October 28, 2015, just two weeks after releasing their second album, “In Pursuit of Dreams”, frontman Nikan Khosravi and DJ Arash Ilkhani were arrested by the Revolutionary Guards. They faced charges of blasphemy and propaganda against the state due to their music and interviews. After spending three months in solitary confinement and 15 months in public prison, they were released temporarily on bail pending trial. Initially sentenced to six years each, they appealed the verdict.

Exile and Asylum:
Due to ongoing threats, Nikan fled to Turkey in 2017. In December 2018 he was granted political asylum in Norway. Arash joined him in May 2019 after also seeking asylum in Turkey. In July 2019, in their absence, an appeal court sentenced Nikan to 12 and a half years in prison plus 74 lashes and Arash to two years in prison.

Musical Evolution and Success:

Upon settling in Norway, Confess experimented with seven-string guitars and modern death metal sounds while retaining their signature groove. In 2022, they welcomed three new members and began touring without fear. They released their third album, “Revenge at All Costs”, on January 21, 2022, inspired by their struggles and experiences. The album received critical acclaim, earning high ratings from several metal publications and saw the band featured in prominent media outlets like Sky News, The Guardian and BBC.

Recent Activities:
In September 2022, Confess signed a worldwide management deal with Extreme Management Group in New York. They continued to face challenges from the Iranian regime, including social media attacks, but remained inspired and productive. They supported Nile on their European tour, performing across 11 countries and 16 cities, solidifying their presence in the global metal scene. In September 2024 Confess supported Belphegor and Malevolent Creation on their European run before appearing at the Vagos Metal Fest in Portugal and Viborg Metal Fest in Denmark. The band’s new album “Destination Addiction” released on January 31st, 2025, through EVIN Productions to rave reviews.

SOULS OF DIOTIMA Complete Recording of New Album + Welcome Bassist Manuel Dettori

SOULS OF DIOTIMA have completed recording their new album and have entered the final stage of production — mixing and mastering. The entire process is being handled by producer Oscar Nilsson at Bohus Studio in Sweden.

Frontwoman Claudia Barsi says: “The month we spent in the studio was fantastic, also because of the history that place holds. It was, of course, very demanding, as this album is as beautiful as it is complex — a true deep dive, both creatively and emotionally. After our first twenty years — which we absolutely do not deny, and we will keep performing our entire discography live — we decided, both musically and aesthetically, to create what we truly are. Our early productions, while absolutely great, followed the classic female-fronted metal path and certain well-known canons; today we have reached an awareness that allows us to craft something genuinely ours and present ourselves to the audience as we really are. With this in mind, from this album onward our guitarist, Fabio Puddu, will also be the male voice of the band alongside me. This is incredibly exciting for me. For now, though, we don’t want to reveal more about the album.”

The band also welcomes Manuel Dettori (in the photo below) as their new official bassist, who had already been working with them for months prior to entering the studio. “We’re very happy that Manuel has joined this big family,” the band states. “He’s been with us for many months, contributed to the new album, and already feels like an integral part of the band. We believe he is the final missing piece: his musical and technical background, along with his experimental streak, perfectly fits the direction Souls of Diotima are taking.”

Further details about the new album will be revealed soon.

CITOVITZ AND THE FIREFLIES OF FEBRUARY Release New Single ‘Venom & Stardust’ on DESMOND CHILD’s birthday – A Tribute to Legendary Songwriter’s Influence

Spontaneous Creation Celebrates Rock Icon’s Impact on Polish Guitarist’s Songwriting Journey

Cairo, Egypt – [10/29/25] – Andrzej Citowicz, performing as CITOVITZ AND THE FIREFLIES OF FEBRUARY, has released “Venom & Stardust”, a new track from the forthcoming album “Living Room Rockstar Part 2”. The release coincides with the birthday of legendary songwriter Desmond Child, whose influence on Citowicz’s musical journey runs deeper than the artist himself realized.

A SPONTANEOUS HOMAGE
“Venom & Stardust” emerged from a spontaneous writing session several weeks ago, with the song’s distinctive key changes and melodic progressions flowing naturally and unexpectedly.

“I was playing guitar, and everything just came—all these key changes, these progressions, these moments that felt right,” Citowicz recalls. “When I stepped back and listened, I thought: this sounds like something Desmond Child would create. And that’s when I realized how much his work has shaped the way I think about songwriting, even on a subconscious level.”

DESMOND CHILD: THE ARCHITECT OF ANTHEMS
Desmond Child stands as one of rock music’s most influential songwriters, crafting hits for Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, and countless others. His work defined the sound of 1980s and 1990s rock, creating anthems that combined accessibility with emotional depth.

For Citowicz, growing up in Wałbrzych, Poland, Child’s compositions provided more than entertainment—they offered a masterclass in songwriting craft.
“Desmond Child wrote the soundtrack to my youth without ever knowing it,” Citowicz reflects. “Songs like ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ and ‘You Give Love a Bad Name’ weren’t just hits—they were blueprints. They taught me that rock music could be both massive and intimate, both anthemic and personal. When I was alone in my room with those Bon Jovi posters and a battered guitar, I was studying Desmond’s work, learning how to build a chorus that connects, how to create that moment where everyone sings along.”

He continues: “What makes Desmond’s songwriting so powerful is the marriage of craft and emotion. The songs are meticulously constructed—those key changes, those melodic hooks, those bridges that elevate everything—but they never feel calculated. They feel inevitable, like they’ve always existed and he just discovered them. That’s the magic I chase in my own writing.”

THE GUITAR AS STORYTELLER
For Citowicz, the guitar serves as both instrument and voice, a means of expressing what words alone cannot capture.
“The guitar is my first language,” he explains. “Before I write lyrics, before I think about structure, I play. The guitar tells me where the song wants to go. Sometimes it’s angry, sometimes it’s melancholy, sometimes—like with ‘Venom & Stardust’—it’s playful and ambitious, pushing into these key changes that feel like reaching for something just out of grasp.”

He adds: “When you play guitar, you’re not just making sound. You’re telling a story without words. Every bend, every slide, every choice of whether to let a note ring or cut it short—those are narrative decisions. The guitar solo in ‘Venom & Stardust’ says things I could never articulate verbally. That’s what I learned from players like Richie Sambora and the songwriters who understood how to let guitar breathe within a song.”

WHAT MUSIC MEANS: SURVIVAL AND SALVATION
Throughout our conversations, Citowicz has consistently described music not as a career choice but as a necessity—a form of therapy, communication, and survival.

“Music for me isn’t optional,” he states plainly. “It’s how I process everything I can’t process any other way. Being on the autism spectrum means the world often feels overwhelming, confusing, difficult to navigate. But when I pick up a guitar, when I’m writing a song, suddenly everything makes sense. The noise becomes melody. The chaos becomes structure.”

He continues: “After losing ,my Son, Jonasz, music became even more essential. It’s the only place where I can hold all these contradictory emotions at once—the grief, the love, the anger, the hope. A conversation has rules, social cues, expected responses. A song has no rules except honesty. That’s why I keep creating, even when it’s painful. Especially when it’s painful. Because music can hold what nothing else can.”

THE LIVING ROOM ROCKSTAR PHILOSOPHY
“Venom & Stardust” will appear on Living Room Rockstar Part 2, scheduled for release in November 2025. The album, dedicated to Citowicz’s late son Jonasz, represents a father’s tribute and a musician’s journey through grief toward healing.

“The ‘living room rockstar’ concept is about understanding that you don’t need stadiums to matter,” Citowicz explains. “I never became the rockstar on those posters in my teenage bedroom. But I became someone who still plays, still writes, still believes that creating music means something, even if the audience is small or imaginary. That’s not failure—that’s victory. That’s survival.”

He adds: “Desmond Child wrote songs that played in stadiums, that millions sang along to. I write songs in my living room that maybe hundreds will hear. But the act of creation is the same. The need to say something through music is the same. The hope that your song might reach someone who needs it is the same. That’s what being a living room rockstar means—you keep playing like it matters, because it does.”

ABOUT THE SONG
“Venom & Stardust” showcases Citowicz’s guitar-driven rock aesthetic, featuring dynamic key changes, anthemic choruses, and the melodic craftsmanship that connects his work to the classic rock tradition. Patryk Szymański’s bass work provides the song’s foundation, adding depth and power to the composition.

“The title ‘Venom & Stardust’ captures the duality I was chasing,” Citowicz notes. “The venom is the edge, the bite, the acknowledgment that life isn’t all beautiful. The stardust is the hope, the magic, the belief that something transcendent can emerge from ordinary moments. That tension between darkness and light, between earthbound and reaching for the sky—that’s what makes rock and roll powerful.”

A BIRTHDAY TRIBUTE
Releasing “Venom & Stardust” on Desmond Child’s birthday serves as both celebration and acknowledgment of artistic debt.

“I’ll never meet Desmond Child,” Citowicz reflects. “He’ll never know about the Polish kid in Wałbrzych who studied his work like sacred texts. But that doesn’t diminish the impact. He taught me how to write songs that connect. He showed me that rock music could be both intelligent and accessible, both crafted and passionate. This song is my way of saying thank you to someone who changed my life without ever knowing I existed.”
He concludes: “That’s the beautiful thing about music—it travels across borders, across decades, across circumstances. A songwriter in one place and time creates something that reaches a listener in another place and time, and that listener becomes a creator themselves. That’s the lineage. That’s the tradition. And on Desmond Child’s birthday, I’m honoring that tradition by releasing a song that exists because of everything he taught me.”

ABOUT LIVING ROOM ROCKSTAR PART 2
Living Room Rockstar Part 2, scheduled for November 2025, will feature ten tracks exploring themes of loss, resilience, love, and the transformative power of music. The album is dedicated to Citowicz’s late son, Jonasz, and represents the artist’s journey through profound grief following the loss of his stillborn son whilst maintaining commitment to creative expression.

Recent singles from the project include “Serpents of Tomorrow,” “Living Room Rockstar,” and collaborations with Citowicz’s wife, Shereen, on tracks like “Burn Like Thunder,” “When The Fight Is Gone,” and “The Space Between.”

This song exists because of everything he taught me about craft, about connection, about the magic that happens when melody meets meaning. On his birthday, I release ‘Venom & Stardust’ as my tribute to a man who changed countless lives, including mine.” — Andrzej Citowicz

MOONSPELL Premiere Colossal Live Version of ‘Extinct’, Feat. Orquestra Sinfonietta de Lisboa

On October 26, 2024, MOONSPELL performed their first-ever symphonic Orchestra show, dubbed “Opus Diabolicum”, at the MEO Arena in Lisbon, Portugal’s capital city. The band made history at this unforgettable live event, adding another magnificent chapter to both metal music made in Portugal and their very own legacy, while revisiting their classics and the bombastic album “1755” at a one-off, exclusive show and their biggest production to date. The heavy metallic power of the dark metal pioneers met the classical magnitude of the 45-piece Lisbon Sinfonietta Orchestra – one of Portugal’s finest orchestras – conducted by maestro Vasco Pearce de Azevedo!

Now, a year later, this monumental event can be yours to view anytime, available in DVD/Blu-ray, 2 CD, Black and Colored Vinyl and Digital formats, arriving this Friday, on October 31st via Napalm Records.

To shorten your wait, today, the dark metal pioneers are premiering a stunning live video for “Extinct”, the anthemic title track taken from the band‘s iconic 2015 studio offering. The orchestral arrangements add new depth to the song’s apocalyptic beauty, while Fernando Ribeiro’s commanding vocals reach chilling new heights. The frontman comments:

“Extinct was quite a landmark for us and helped us to shake off some of the heavy legacy of our early albums, something very needed by the band. It was certainly celebrated by our wolfpack all around the world and created new anthems live, and fresh memories. No wonder we picked up some of it and gave it the “orchestral treatment” as in the original songs we’d already recorded with a The Mumim Sezler string group, from Turkey. It was challenging for the musicians to recreate that oriental flair, but in the end it all came together and it sounds powerful and tasteful. With Opus Diabolicum, we wanted to bring together the power of heavy metal and the magnitude of orchestral, without sweetening the deal or watering it down for gentle ears. This is Moonspell full force, backed by an orchestra. Enjoy it, thanks for sharing, and stay tuned for our new album next year!”

“I have never been the one to push MOONSPELL into an orchestral direction,“ Ribeiro admitts.

“I mean, like any fan, I can recognise the impact Classical had over Heavy Metal (Quorthon, from Bathory, used to quote Wagner as his favourite “band”) and in my musical collection Mussorgsky, Prokofiev and Ravel, could be found, shoulder to shoulder with the aforementioned Bathory, Celtic Frost, Sarcófago or Maiden. But, I wasn’t a fan of the metal meets orchestra efforts myself and when I approached Jaime (Gomez Arellano) to mix this beast, I asked him: have you heard S&M and other “live with an orchestra” metal band’s albums? We want nothing like that!

This is work of passion: truly the work of the devil (opus diabolicum): imperfect, unprocessed, untamed. A release made by friends to all the friends we have around this goth forsaken world and that in an arena in Lisbon or in a sweaty club in Texas, keep the spell going, until we are no more.”

No MOONSPELL fan, anywhere in the world, should miss their chance to add this rare and massive performance to their own collection! Pre-Order “Opus Diabolicum” now at THIS LOCATION!

“Opus Diabolicum” track listing:
1. Tungstennio (CD + DVD/Blu-ray only)
2. Em Nome do Medo
3. 1755
4. In Tremor Dei
5. Desastre
6. Ruinas

8. Extinct
9. Proliferation

11. Everything Invaded
12. Scorpion Flower
