VULTURE Release New Album ‘Dealin’ Death’ Worldwide

May 21st, VULTURE released their new album, Dealin’ Death, via Metal Blade Records. For a preview of Dealin’ Death, a video for the title track can be viewed below.

Purchase and stream the record in full now at: metalblade.com/vulture – where Dealin’ Death is available in various formats.

When it comes to contemporary thrash, there are few bands that can stand toe-to-toe with Germany’s Vulture. Establishing their status with 2016’s Victim To The Blade EP and 2017’s The Guillotine, then cementing their reputation with 2019’s Ghastly Waves And Battered Graves, they now return with the mighty Dealin’ Death, one of the most ruthless records the genre has seen. “Take all our key elements – fierce riffing, halftone-shifts, aggressive vocals, huge toms, changing dynamics, horror-synths and classical twin guitar harmonies and cast it in a mould, then you have ‘Dealin’ Death‘,” says guitarist Stefan Castevet. “The result sounds a little ‘back to the EP-ish’ to my ears, yet it contains new approaches that we’ve never included in our sound so far, like choirs with harmonies.”

When it was time for the band to head into the studio, the recording process was handled by two separate collaborators: the album recorded at Monkey Moon Studios in Dortmund by Alexander Stöcker, the guitarist of Stallion, while the production was once more handled by Marco Brinkmann at Hellforge Studio. “This cooperation turned out great!” enthuses vocalist Leo Steeler. “Alex’s way of recording and the whole studio atmosphere was pretty motivating and inspiring for all of us. Marco, on the other hand, knows exactly how we should sound and already became literally the sixth member of the band.” Working twelve-hour days for ten days straight was pretty grueling, their daily schedule “get up, track, sleep”, but the effort paid off. “I think ‘Dealin’ Death‘ is the best we’ve ever sounded. The mix itself is absolutely flawless to my ears,” says Castevet. “It’s way more direct and less reverb-soaked than its predecessor. It was very important for us this time, to take advice from Marco and make all key elements audible for the listener. The vocals sound piercing, the bass is present, delivering warmth throughout the whole mix, and the guitars have the best sound we’ve ever had, and the same goes for drums. It’s very natural and dynamic, but straight to the point.” And now with everything done, the band are eager to get it out there. “We can’t wait to get feedback for it, hopefully people will admire it as much as we do! Once the pandemic is over, we also can’t wait to play shows and even tour again.”

BEHIND THE HORROR Stream SEPULTURA Cover “Territory”

Brazilian-American thrash/death metallers BEHIND THE HORROR pay homage to Brazilian thrash legends  Sepultura with their blistering rendition of thrash classic “Territory“. Needless to say, Sepultura has been a major Influence in Behind The Horror’s style and can be heard throughout their own writing extensively.

The video is now streaming via Metal Underground and can be viewed here.

Behind The Horror from New Jersey are concentrated metal power with an uncompromising sound. The formation was founded by the two brothers  Gabriel (guitar) and Lucas (drums) Alves, they laid the foundation for their uncompromising Death ‘N Thrash spectacle in 2013 which later became Behind The Horror. Behind The Horror delivered a direct hit with the extended player  Burn This Truth with original and own material most recently with the drum video for Resident Evil and the cover version of Nightwish’s Wish I Had An Angel, the final proof of their musical versatility and that they can not only convince with their own material, but also lose nothing of their sovereignty with their own interpretations of legendary metal tracks.

The reinterpretation of Territory ( Sepultura ) is once again a testament to the musical ability of the two Alves brothers! With musical and uncompromising roughness, Behind The Horror pay tribute to their role models from  Sepultura and do it in a sensible and appealing way. Sometimes covers have a reputation for looking like soulless copies of the original, but Territory  ( cover ) of Behind The Horror doesn’t. Precise and quick drums drive Gabriel Alves’ guitar playing solid and with variation, although he is also fluent when playing his guitar and  does honor to Territory on both an instrumental and a vocal level. Regarding composing skills, there is nothing to be said here, as is the case with cover versions, But Behind The Horror definitely pay a great tribute to the original with their musical and vocal skills!

Brazilian PESSIMISTA To Release Latest Album Worldwide On Vinyl

Formed with the idea to demonstrate the worst that exists in each person, and with a decent dose of pessimism towards the world as we know it, Brazilian black metal solo artist PESSIMISTA has announced the worldwide release of his latest, 2021- album, titled “Ocaso”.

Set for release on June 18th via Subsound Records, “Ocaso“ will be available worldwide and for the first time in black vinyl (200) and strictly limited orange vinyl editions (100).

Says Pessimista:
“This album will finally be released on vinyl, becoming a milestone for the band and a personal milestone. I am sure that Subsound Records will do an excellent job, as I have been following their releases and I know that the various weight bands are happy with the work developed“.

Tracklist:

  1. Tempestade de emoções e pensamentos
  2. Se Ícaro soubesse o que sei agora
  3. Dia e noite numa briga eterna (na minha cabeça)
  4. Culto a Punição – Calabouços da Solidão
  5. Sinto sua dor no por do sol

Despite having a name with a very negative charge, this band is not about inducing suicide or self-destruction. “It is about distrust towards the world as we know it. Ego, fascism, Nazism, sexism, homophobia, racism, populist leaders and all these everyday shits all these things distress me a lot and end up inspiring me to write and compose” Pessimista explains. “I believe that philosophical pessimism makes us question ourselves a lot about situations so that we can improve them in the future. Pessimista is about that, looking at the past and now with a critical eye so that the future is better”.

Featuring five tracks of depressive & raw atmospheric black metal, “Ocaso” will be coming out June 18th on Subsound Records and is now available for pre-order here:

WRISTMEETRAZOR Release New Single ‘This Summer’s Sorrow II: Growing Old In The Waiting Place’

WRISTMEETRAZOR have premiered a new single, This Summer’s Sorrow II: Growing Old In The Waiting Place, with an accompanying music video via Knotfest. This Summer’s Sorrow II is the third single to be taken from the band’s upcoming sophomore album, Replica of a Strange Love, due for release via Prosthetic Records on June 11 – showcasing WRISTMEETRAZOR‘s existential take on metalcore.

LISTEN TO THIS SUMMER’S SORROW II: GROWING OLD IN THE WAITING PLACE VIA KNOTFEST HERE.

Speaking on the single’s premiere, Justin Fornof (vocals/ bass) comments: “This Summer’s Sorrow II : Growing Old in the Waiting Place is the final piece in a triptych (of sorts), created by the Replica of a Strange Love singles. It’s a song about being in limbo, waiting for a day that you know will never come. In context to the record and the previous singles, it’s the exasperated final metamorphosis from unfeeling shell to empty husk.”

Replica of a Strange Love is a modern take on metalcore; building on the foundations of their past to leave a shimmering trail of visceral energy in their wake. Isaac Hale of Knocked Loose made his production debut on the album, and also made a cameo on the first single, Last Tango In Paris. The album was engineered & mixed by Andy Nelson at Bricktop Recording Studios, before being mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege.

Through his lyrics, Justin Fornof deconstructs his own psyche in the wake of Misery Never Forgets, observing heartbreak through a philosophical lens. Replica of a Strange Love is introspective, utilizing the work of Nietzsche, Foucault, LaVey and more to make sense of human reactions and sociological phenomena specific to ongoing events. Hopeless romanticism is the past – personal philosophy is the present.

From their roots as a DIY band – Jonah Thorne started WMR as a solo project before joining forces with Justin for his creative vision before later welcoming Bryan Prosser and Tyler Norris for their eclectic skill sets and artistry – WRISTMEETRAZOR have blossomed into a force to be reckoned with. Still driven by the desire to get down in the dirt in a live arena, expect to see this four piece in a town near you as soon as is possible.

Still fashionably dead, now is the time to take note of WRISTMEETRAZOR.

Replica of a Strange Love by WRISTMEETRAZOR will be released via Prosthetic Records on June 11.

ECLIPSE Release New single + Video ‘Saturday Night (Hallelujah)’

Coming off their most successful album yet, “Paradigm” (which includes the massive single ‘Viva La Victoria’ that has 15 million streams and counting), Sweden’s ECLIPSE are putting the finishing touches on their upcoming new studio album, which will be released this fall. In the meantime, the band has released a brand new single, an anthem for the ages, ‘Saturday Night (Hallelujah)’.

“It was another one of those Saturday nights. At home. But, for the first time in a very long time there was hope. Suddenly there were stories about someone’s mom getting ‘the shot’, an old neighbor who was able to see the grandkids for the first time in a year, and I saw an ad for a gig. A real one, without screens or internet connections. A songwriter buddy of mine was there and we walked back to the studio and wrote most of what would become ‘Saturday Night (Hallelujah)’ in 15 minutes,” says Eclipse frontman Erik Martensson.

“There’s absolutely nothing snotty about this song. It’s about partying! Don’t try to tell me you’re not up for a good f***ing party right about now?” continues Martensson.

Watch the video for this hooky, impossibly catchy party song HERE:

Over the last few years Eclipse have performed to audiences around the globe, including the U.S, Japan, Australia and Europe and have opened for giants like Aerosmith and the Scorpions. Their albums have amassed millions of streams and charted in several European countries. With the momentum of their last studio album “Paradigm” propelling them, their upcoming studio album promises to push them even further up the rock ‘n roll mountain.
