Joel Hoekstra (Whitesnake, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Revolution Saints) is pleased to announce the release of the fourth album of his solo project Joel Hoekstra’s 13, titled “From The Fade” and out on February 27, 2026, via Frontiers Music Srl.

To give the audience a taste of what to expect from the record, Joel and company share the first single and official visualizer, “The Fall”.

Hoekstra said: “’The Fall’ is built on riffs and melodies that stem from two early influences that I often fail to mention in Queensryche and Dokken. It’s a straight ahead melodic, hard rock track with a powerful foundation laid out by Vinny Appice and Tony Franklin, a killer keyboard solo from Derek Sherinian, a stunning vocal performance from Girish Pradhan and Jeff Scott Soto’s tastefully executed backing vocals!  Hope ya like it!”

Joel commented: “The songs were built from the guitar riffs up.  Most of the riffs were written during the time I was filling in with Accept, so there is a heavier edge to this album overall.  That being said, the album still would be more accurately described as melodic hard rock, not straight-up metal”.

“As always with the Joel Hoekstra’s 13 albums, I wrote the style of music that inspired me to pick up the guitar and tried to focus on SONGS for you to enjoy, not overly self-indulgent guitar solos”, he continued. “HUGE thanks to Vinny Appice, Tony Franklin, Derek Sherinian, Girish Pradhan and Jeff Scott Soto for bringing the songs to life!  I hope you all enjoy ‘From The Fade’ as much as I enjoyed making it!”

Joel Hoekstra’s 13 returns with its fourth studio album, “From the Fade” – a dynamic collection of 10 brand-new tracks that combine soaring melodies, thunderous riffs, and the high-level musicianship fans have come to expect.

Once again, guitarist and composer Joel Hoekstra (Whitesnake, Cher, Trans-Siberian Orchestra) is joined by an elite cast of rock veterans: powerhouse drummer Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath, Dio), legendary bassist Tony Franklin (The Firm, Blue Murder), virtuoso keyboardist Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater, Sons of Apollo), and rising vocal sensation Girish Pradhan (Girish and The Chronicles, The Nail).

“From The Fade” delivers a blend of classic hard rock and modern melodic metal, characterized by tight arrangements, technical precision, and emotionally charged performances. Each track reflects Hoekstra’s signature songwriting – rooted in tradition but pushing the genre forward with a fresh and contemporary sound.

This is more than just a studio project; it’s a statement of intent from one of rock’s most respected guitarists and his band of world-class collaborators.

New York guitarist Joel Hoekstra currently plays for Whitesnake and Trans Siberian Orchestra.  Joel is also well-known for his work with: Cher, Night Ranger, the Broadway show Rock of Ages, his fill in work with Foreigner, Accept, his annual sets on the Monsters of Rock Cruise, recording projects like Revolution Saints, Iconic, viral collaboration videos with the likes of Dino Jelusick, Arnel Pineda, Mike Portnoy, Billy Sheehan and his acoustic shows with Brandon Gibbs.

Exhibiting a knack for music education, he has also been a frequent columnist for Guitar World Magazine, taught at Musician’s Institute, Rockstars of Tomorrow, Guitar Workshop Plus and often been a counselor at Rock N’ Roll Fantasy Camp.

Over the years, Joel has released three instrumental solo albums and three critically acclaimed albums with his side project Joel Hoekstra’s 13. Most recently, he was the guest guitarist on Dancing with the Stars (Hair Metal Episode) and played with Cher at her Rock N Roll Hall of Fame induction and the SNL 50 Homecoming Concert.

THE DARK.FM Release New Single + Video ‘[zippermouth]’, Feat. Smash Stereo

The Dark.FM have returned with a sinister new twist on their latest single ‘[zippermouth]’ – this time in the form of a gripping remix crafted by rising industrial producer Smash Stereo.

The collaboration drags the original track even deeper into the shadows, amplifying its dark-wave heartbeat with heavier electronics, pulsating synth aggression, and a cold, metallic edge that feels both cinematic and menacing. Smash Stereo transforms ‘[zippermouth]’ into a grinding, adrenaline-laced reimagining that pushes The Dark.FM’s sound further into the realm of dystopian club culture.

Beyond the studio, The Dark.FM are gearing up for a massive year ahead as they are confirmed to perform at Sick New World Festival 2026 – with appearances in both Dallas and Las Vegas.

MORBONOCT Release New Single ‘Cold Wind’ from Upcoming Fifth Album “No One Knows We’re Dying”

Posted by tarjavirmakari on November 16, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: MORBONOCT. Leave a comment

Morbonoct, as a studio project, started in 2021. The line-up includes Alexander Medvedev, who is responsible for all the instruments. In mid-2023, new vocalist&lyricist David Welnicki joined the project. The main idea of the project was the space theme, which is also reflected in the sound and accompaniment of dense atmospheric canvases in the background. So far, project released four full length albums: “Anmet” (2021), “Chorna bezodnya” (2022), “Galactic Gloom” (2023) and “The Highest Purpose” (2024). Now, it’s time for fifth album!

“We would like to introduce you to our new style of cosmic black metal, let the ambience take you over“.

Music for new album was recorded, mixed and mastered in Szczecin (Poland) by Alexander Medvediev. Cover artwork was done also by the leader of the project, Alexander. New album titled “No One Knows We’re Dying” will be released digitally on December 12, 2025.

Alexander comments upcoming album: “No One Knows We’re Dying traces the inevitable cycles of life — from the beauty of creation to the weight of existence, and finally, to a cold, inevitable silence. The project embraces raw authenticity, with the mix and master intentionally restrained to preserve the natural texture of the vocals. Minimal post-processing allows every imperfection to speak truthfully, amplifying the emotional resonance of the performance. The instrumental foundation forms a cohesive narrative that evokes deep melancholy and a quiet sense of hopelessness, guiding the listener through a hauntingly introspective experience“.

FIMBUL WINTER Unveil Debut EP “What Once Was”

Swedish death metal act FIMBUL WINTER is proud to announce the release of its scorching debut extended play What Once Was, out now via the band.

Carrying the weight of history and the fire of unfinished business, What Once Was delivers five tracks of cold, uncompromising death metal steeped in the spirit of Sweden’s early scene.

“This EP came from friends who refused to settle for what was,” says the band. “Now, the world’s listening—and that’s the sound of us kicking the door in.”
Recorded by Sverker Widgrin (Mörk Gryning, Wormwood) and Shaun Farrugia, then mixed and mastered by Marko Tervonen (The Crown, Sarcator), the debut also features session bass from Tobias Cristiansson (Necrophobic, Dismember, etc.).

Built on rediscovered riffs from the dawn of Amon Amarth, alongside brand-new compositions, the EP proves that the sound once forged in Stockholm’s underground still cuts just as deep today.

Formed by Amon Amarth co-founders Anders Biazzi and Niko Kaukinen with longtime drummer Fredrik Andersson, and joined by vocalist Clint Williams (Munitions, Nemesium), FIMBUL WINTER fuses decades of experience with raw, unflinching energy.

The spark came when the former bandmates reunited to perform Amon Amarth’s 1994 demo The Arrival of the Fimbul Winter.

What began as a one-off became the seed of something greater: a new band committed to channeling the relentless spirit of early Swedish death metal into the present day.

What Once Was is not nostalgia. It’s a declaration.

FIMBUL WINTER is here to finish what they started.
