AN AUTUMN FOR CRIPPLED CHILDREN Release Full New Album Visualizer

AN AUTUMN FOR CRIPPLED CHILDREN have released their new album, As The Morning Dawns We Close Our Eyes, via Prosthetic Records. As The Morning Dawns We Close Your Eyes is the ninth full length from the long running black metal-meets-shoegaze band. Recorded in Summer 2020, the album defies the environment in which it was created to deliver wintry black metal speckled with soaring shoegaze melodies.

Listen to As The Morning Dawns We Close Our Eyes via Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. Order As The Morning Dawns We Close Our Eyes here.

WATCH THE FULL ALBUM VISUALIZER FOR AS THE MORNING DAWNS WE CLOSE OUR EYES, BELOW.

Speaking on the album release, the band comments: “As The Morning Dawns We Close Our Eyes had a slow start, where we thought: ‘What can we do what has not already been said and done with AAFCC?’ We soon realised that you don’t need to reinvent the wheel every time, and it’s okay to just try to create the best music you can. Once we removed that obstacle, the music flowed like it did before. The production process was spread out over time, as we tried to create the best mix within our possibilities.

“There’s an air of bittersweetness to the album. Something we like to call a ‘triumphant rage’. A rousing sensation, a mix of anger, dispair but also hope. With lyrical themes that revolve around deep and profound emotions and experiences. Emotional breakthroughs and emotional breakdowns. We are very excited to be releasing this album, which we consider some of our best work.”

Recorded, mixed and mastered within the confines of the band, AN AUTUMN FOR CRIPPLED CHILDREN remains a project shrouded in mystery and the band is yet to perform live. Their reclusive nature doesn’t detract from the alluring nature of their output – if anything the anonymity adds to the mystery and intrigue. Inspired by the originators of black metal and the gothic doom of the 1990s, AAFCC have created something that pays homage to its roots but remains forward thinking. For fans of Deafheaven and Alcest, there’s plenty to uncover with As The Morning Dawns…

Traversing familiar topics such as love, life, death and eternal existential quandaries, AAFCC combine bleakness and hope, love and death – creating an unforgettable, majestic collection of songs. Recorded over a longer period of time than usual, each track got individual attention and was crafted as a stand alone element of the greater whole. They might not give away much about themselves, but they leave their mark on every one of these eight tracks.

Watch the teaser video #3, here:

Jason Payne reveals more details on the video:
“Writing this song was an absolute challenge and I’m very proud and happy with its outcome. We’re just 2 weeks away from the release and I’m super excited to show all my fans what we managed to accomplish. I believe this is the best work we’ve done so far, and our mentality is to be better every time at everything we set our minds to. We worked for a long time on this track and on the Ep and now it’s the right time to release our music. Save the date: 4th June 2021.”

Teaser #1 – https://youtu.be/_aaDpUxp9UI

Just recently the band revealed first details of their upcoming 6-tracks EP, entitled “The Abyss”, coming out soon.

Read what Jason has to say:
“The Dark is a song that sums up the theme of this EP, “The Abyss”. It’s about death, obscurity and the “nothing”. It talks of things like trying to reach to the void, feeling confused and betrayed, and about a person that’s losing his essence. Without a consciousness, and with no purpose in our lives, we’re just a bunch of roamers taking a road to the abyss, and that leads us to the dark and lashes us to insignificant beings floating in “the nothing”.
When I was writing this EP, I got affected by the outside world. It’s a dark period that we’re living. I caught the essence and the feelings that this time put me through and made a whole EP about existentialism and nihilism. This period made me question who am I, what’s my purpose, what have I done with my life and what if this all ends now? Would it matter? Do we matter? Does life matters? Of course, it does! In my opinion, there’s no point of doing anything or living if this doesn’t matter. However, when I wrote this EP, I don’t give you the bright side of the story. That’s for the fans to find out. My whole point with this work is to make people question their lives and feel these emotions. This record means so much to me, since it’s about everything I felt and still feel. I’m a person who never stops asking questions. I always want to know more. Specially, when it comes to existentialism, I’m always in internal conflict, since I question everything. This is my message, this is my music and it’s about how I feel, and hopefully, people will relate to it.”

Stay tuned for more details.

JASON PAYNE & THE BLACK LEATHER RIDERS will play the all-day hard-hitting show at Camden Rocks on July 10th, alongside Reverted, Rival Karma, Janus Stark, Bleeding Antlers, Star Circus, Thousand Thoughts, Season of Ghosts, The Blood Republic, Tales of Perdition and Red Light Acid Test at The Black Heart! Tickets – http://camdenrocks.seetickets.com. Facebook Event page – https://www.facebook.com/events/284750256692240.

Jason stated:
“It has been too long since I’ve played a show. We’re so excited to be back on stage! I know it’s gonna be a great moment for us and for the fans!”

With a history boasting over 300,000 streams, 50 live shows and a modest lifetime of musical creation with past acts, London based metal artist Jason Payne has taken 2020 to embark on a new journey; JASON PAYNE & THE BLACK LEATHER RIDERS. A culmination and reincarnation of his strongest rock compositions, with numerous releases ready and waiting taking influence from the likes of Slash, Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park, Korn, and many other legendary over the years. Think big riffs, impactful grit-laden vocals, and an energy just screaming to be invited to the live stage.

Swedish LEACH Stream New Album “Lovely Light of Life” In Its Entirety

Swedish thrashers LEACH have released their brand new explosive album “Lovely Light of Life” via Brutal Records and stream album in its entirety via Metal Injection! Listen to album here.

Purchase available here: https://orcd.co/pvbab6r

If it’s burly, melodic, and fits together perfectly, it’s probably from Sweden. LEACH certainly fall into the above categories, and their warts-and-all style of thrash ‘n’ roll is just begging for a throwdown.

Lovely Light of Life is their third major rodeo and, straight out of the gate, it’s a thrash, hardcore and rock ‘n’ roll mission statement. LEACH have established a style and sound which is wholly theirs and which makes them stand out from the crowd. Lovely Light of Life will be released worldwide on May 21st on the American label Brutal Records.

The record features a varied yet cohesive collection of relentlessly chugging grooves and anthemic riffs carved out of the foundation of rock itself. The band is anything but a one-trick pony and has a distinctive knack of using dynamic changes and sonic shifts to keep listeners captivated. LEACH know how to get the pit started and can keep their audience hooked in until the very last track.

To top it off, the production strikes a perfect balance between crisp and rough-‘n’-ready – a tip to the skills of Christian Silver at Studiomega (Arch Enemy, Kreator, Soilwork, Dragonforce).

Lovely Light of Life also includes a bonus track, “D.O.D”, featuring Soilwork vocalist Björn “Speed” Strid – a fact that the band is clearly delighted with:-
Getting Björn to feature on one of our songs is of course a big deal. Us growing up in Sweden, Soilwork were such a big influence on us — still are. And Björn, being the pro he is, absolutely nailed it on the first try. Stoked to have him on one of our songs and definitely something we now can check off our bucket list.

Coming from such a rich music scene as Sweden’s, a band cannot help but take some influence from their forefathers. In this case, the insistent energy of Raised Fist, the rock ‘n’ roll parts of latter-day Entombed, and the infectious melodies of The Haunted are all evident in LEACH‘s sound. The US also gets a look in, with Hatebreed’s snarling bravado and the thrash-fest of Exodus and Nuclear Assault all figuring into the melting pot.

LEACH is a band built for the stage and, with live experiences that stretch from Europe to Dubai, the power and reach of their frantic energy has been proven. They are now hungry and eager to bring their sonic onslaught to all corners of the world.

After amassing 65 million-plus views and over 10 million streams independently, the Monterrey Mexico hard rock trio of sisters THE WARNING have unleashed a new single entitled “CHOKE” via LAVA/Republic Records.

Listen to “CHOKE”—HERE and watch the official music video for the track HERE.

On the single “CHOKE” and working with legendary rock producer David Bendeth (Paramore, Bring Me The Horizon, Breaking Benjamin) the band said: “CHOKE is a song about drowning in your feelings and coming to terms with them. Recording it with David Bendeth (while in quarantine!) was an incredible experience and he really worked with us to bring the song to life.”

The music video was directed by Gabo Ramos and concept was worked on in tándem meticulously with Dany, Pau, Ale, The Warning team along with the director. Surrounded by experts in every field from wardrobe, hair, makeup, art design, lighting design and underwater crew the video was shot in one day.

The track illuminates the intense chemistry between these three sisters Daniela “Dany” [guitar, lead vocals, piano], Paulina “Pau” [drums, vocals, piano], and Alejandra “Ale” Villarreal [bass, piano, backing vocals]. Dany’s hypnotic vocals bleed into thunderous distortion as the groove tosses and turns on a dime. Their pummeling proficiency drives the track towards a massive and magnetic hook meant to be chanted in arenas worldwide.

Southern Rockers THE GEORGIA THUNDERBOLTS Release New Video ‘Take It Slow’

THE GEORGIA THUNDERBOLTS are riding high. Having just been featured by Rolling Stone, who compared their “lean, muscular songs” to artists like Blackberry Smoke, The Steel Woods and Lynyrd Skynyrd, the band has “a full tank of gas and is heading down the road” in the new video for “Take It Slow,” out today via Mascot Records / Mascot Label Group. Directed by Jim Arborgast, the hard-charging video is the first taste of The Georgia Thunderbolts’ new set of material, slated for release later this year. “Take It Slow is about living life by the wayside,” explains guitarist Riley Couzzourt. “Life wasn’t meant to be fast lived, but to be enjoyed and memorable.” “This song is for anyone who wants to just let loose,” adds vocalist TJ Lyle. “The struggles of life sometimes seem overbearing, but the answer is to just sit back, relax and Take It Slow.”

“In Georgia, you hear Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers, and all of the greats everywhere,” says fellow guitarist, Logan Tolbert. “Rock and roll is something that comes naturally for us. We feel like we can bring it back.” The press agree, with Classic Rock Magazine dubbing the band “your new favorite southern rock band,” and American Songwriter calling their recently released debut EP, “timeless.” “But these Thunderbolts aren’t a low-voltage knockoff of the greats who came before,” Rolling Stone adds. “Rather, they keep things fresh by committing to lean, muscular songs…Southern rock continues to thrive in the 21st century.”

Whether it be on the banks of the Mississippi River or deep in the heart of the English countryside, rock ‘n’ roll lives, breathes, and burns on the outskirts. Hailing from Rome, GA, USA at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, The Georgia Thunderbolts’ scorching signature style is steeped in raw rock, soulful southern swagger, and blistering blues. With a wide swath of inspirations, ranging from southern gospel and Hank Williams to Merle Haggard, Neil Young, Little Feat, Ozzy Osbourne, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, the band cut their teeth performing with everyone from The Kentucky Headhunters to Blackberry Smoke, resulting in a signature sound steeped in anthemic riffs, wild harmonica, and pulse-pounding drums.

“We’re going for that timeless and classic sound with a modern twist and newer attitude,” exclaims Lyle. “We all grew up on rock music,” Riley adds. “If I could think of three words to describe us, they would be ‘Hardworking, Determined, and Humble.’” Bristol grins, “If I could think of three words, they would be ‘Rock and Roll.’”

CHTHONIC Release Spectacular Live Video And ‘Behind-The-Scenes’ Special

“Megaport 2021”, the live album, features CHTHONIC and Audrey Tang’s entire performance at 2021 MEGAPORT FESTIVAL. The album will be released with Chthonic’s anti-epidemic gear, e.g., designed masks, as a special album bundle.

Audrey Tang, who is now the Digital Minister of Taiwan’s cabinet, has actually been to Chthonic concerts many times before. He is an old friend of Chthonic vocalist Freddy Lim. In 2016, while Freddy got elected to Taiwan’s parliament, Audrey Tang also joined the cabinet. Both of them have attracted the attention of many international news outlets. Now, they have shared a metal stage together, which was quite an epic moment.

Watch the full show right here:

In addition to the “brain controlling” voice of Audrey Tang, the songs were recomposed to match the overall theme. Songs like Takao, Supreme Pain For The Tyrant, Defenders Of Bú-Tik Palace, Millennia’s Faith Undone, and Flame Upon The Weeping Winds were all infused with refined synthesizer effects. Moreover, Oceanquake and Set Fire To The Island have undergone an extensive Drum & Bass remix.

This album recorded Chthonic and Audrey Tang’s epic live performance at 2021 MEGAPORT FESTIVAL in front of 95.000 people, which was one of the few large-scale music festivals in the world that could still be held during the pandemic. Therefore, Chthonic releases the album with Chthonic’s anti-epidemic gear set.

Chthonic’s anti-epidemic gear set is designed on the base of the “Tai (台)” character. The set contains a Chthonic Black Armor Mask, a Chthonic Multi-colored Mask, a mask chain, a mask storage folder, a portable mask storage box, and a spray can. The “Tai (台)” pattern derives from the “Tai (台)” logo that evolved along with Chthonic’s concerts, from 2012’s “Mass Battle”, 2015’s “‘Defend the Nation”, 2019’s “Taiwan Victory” to 2021’s “MEGAPORT”. It has become an important totem of Chthonic. This time, the pattern has been developed into two styles. One is the armor style, symbolizing Taiwan’s will in defending freedom; the other is the multi-colored version, which symbolizes the spirit of Taiwan: unity in diversity.

Aiming to let foreign friends know more about Taiwan, Chthonic lead singer & legislator Freddy Lim and Audrey recorded an insightful analysis of the live video, speaking mainly in two languages: English and Japanese. Freddy’s talkings on the stage in Taiwansese also were translated into English subtitles. They hope the video could bring courage and hope to Taiwan, which recently suffers from a surge of local epidemic. Moreover, they want to encourage people in Taiwan to overcome this challenge together and return to normal life as soon as possible.

It is a live commentary and reaction of Freddy and Audrey to the recent Megaport Festival performance. Freddy also spoke in Japanese, which he hadn’t spoken for seven years, to introduce the performance to the long-lost Japanese fans. Meanwhile, all Audrey could only say along was “そうですね~(I agree)”, creating some funny moments. In the video, the two opened by introducing their 20-year deep friendship. Audrey said with a smile that she was actually in Danshui that day. She participated in the performance remotely, almost like “hacking onto the stage”. Freddy replied that the audience might have felt their brains were “hacked” by her during the performance.
Freddy mentioned the flags waved by the fans, like the Tibetan National Flag, the Uyghurs’ East Turkestan flag, Hong Kong’s Black Bauhinia flag, and Taiwan’s Rainbow Flag. They represented the spirit of Rock & Roll: Support the oppressed, oppose absolute authority, and embrace diversity. Audrey said that when Taiwan was fighting for democracy, many international support was organized in Hong Kong. In many ways, Taiwan now plays a similar role to Hong Kong; as a tech person, she often thinks about how to support the oppressed by using new technology to send out the real local situations to the other side of China’s “wall”.

In addition, when talking about creative ideas, Freddy pointed out that he reads a lot of books about Taiwan’s history and mythology, which naturally cultivate his creativity; Audrey said that as a senior fan of Chthonic, she learned a lot about indigenous mythology from the band. One of Audrey’s favorite songs is “Defenders of Bú-Tik Palace”, she can even remember all the lyrics. Hearing this, Freddy couldn’t help laughing and said that Audrey’s memory was too good. Sometimes he couldn’t remember the lyrics himself.

Besides talking about the performance, the two also welcomed foreign fans to travel to Taiwan after the pandemic. Meanwhile, with the recent surge of local epidemic in Taiwan, they also talked about how to deal with anxiety and negative emotions. Audrey offered the simple but brilliant tip of “sleeping for eight hours”, facing the new day with a brand new mood. In the end, Freddy said that he hopes this live video can encourage friends all over the world who are facing this severe pandemic, and more importantly, encourage the Taiwanese people to overcome the current challenges together.
