ETERNAL SILENCE Unveil New Album Details And First Single “Ancient Spirit”

Italian symphonic metallers ETERNAL SILENCE will be releasing their new album “Timegate Anathema” on October 8, 2021 via Rockhots Records. Today, the band reveals the first single “Ancient Spirit“, a heavy track that puts together new influences and sounds.

Eternal Silence explains the song’s concept in further detail: “Born out of the mind of guitarist Enzo Criscuolo, this song is heavy in contents and atmosphere along with feeling spiritual with lyrics written by our bassist Alessio Sessa. The lake in the pantheistic form that assumes in the song, reveals its mystery and charm as if it was a sleeping God. Beneath the layer of forgetfulness where it lays, hidden like a gem and silent, is an ideal companion, present in every day of our lives and keeps secrets and deep thrusts in its depths, where few dare to look.“

Recorded at The Groove Factory (Udine, Italy) and Line/Out Studio (Milano, Italy) with mixing and mastering by Michele Guaitoli (Visions of Atlantis, Temperance, Kaledon), “Timegate Anathema” will feature ten tracks of symphonic and power prog metal plus will see the band introduce new elements and experimentation into their sound. The album goes from power metal songs like “The Way Of Time” and “My Soul Sad Until Death” to heavy and dark ones like “Rain and Red Death Masquerade“, passing through the catchy melodies of tracks like “Glide In The Air” and acoustic moments on “Lonely and Firefly“. The main theme that inspired the album is the concept of Time.

Formed in Varese, Italy in 2008, Eternal Silence combines powerful guitar riffs, a thunderous rhythmic section, catchy melodies, and bombastic orchestral tracks with the support of two vocalists, Marika Vanni and guitarist Alberto Cassina sharing the front stage. The band’s current line-up is completed by Alessio Sessa (bass), Andrea Zannin (drums) and Enzo Criscuolo (guitarist).

Since their formation, the band has unleashed three albums and two EPs. 2020’s “Renegades” (EP), 2018’s “Metamorphosis” (EP), and 2017’s “Mastermind Tyranny” were released on Sliptrick Records, and their earlier full-lengths “Raw Poetry” (2013) and “Chasing Chimera” (2015) were released on Underground Symphony Records.

Over the years, the band has been a consistent touring presence in Europe, performing in Germany, Switzerland, France, Czech Republic, Austria, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Italy, and Hungary along with being support for bands such as Temperance, Therion, Haggard, Sound Storm, Timo Kotipelto (Stratovarius) and Jani Liimatainen (Insomnium) Blackoustic.

Hailing from the great down under but headed straight to the top, Melbourne, Australia based alternative rockers THE UGLY KINGS have revealed the first details of their upcoming, highly anticipated new album, entitled Strange, Strange Times, slated for a release on August 13, 2021 via Napalm Records.

Following 2018’s Darkness Is My Home, which was lauded by the likes of Classic Rock Magazine and Loud Mag upon release, with Strange, Strange Times, the four- piece is poised to turn heads and continues to infuse their foreboding alt-rock with blackened blues and gritty punk edge! THE UGLY KINGS channel the flavor of groups like Queens Of The Stone Age, Danzig and The White Stripes while preserving razor sharp, daringly introspective control with clever lyricism, addictive riffage and power blues flavor. The band’s revitalizing infusion of dark energy is evident, and showcases their ability to distort hard blues rock into dark, unique territories with perfection.

Give ear, as THE UGLY KINGS have just shared a first song taken from Strange, Strange Times! The punk-infused first single “Technodrone” bobs and shakes its way into the listeners soul with raucous energy, featuring driving rock riffage, unrelenting, dynamic percussion and crooning vocals. Dive into the unique and heavily vibrant world of THE UGLY KINGS, and watch their brand new video clip for “Technodrone” here:

“Technology Addiction. We are all addicted to the screen. We mindlessly swipe our lives away spending hours and hours connected to it and completely disconnected to everything else,” says vocalist Russell Clark about the first album single. “We are our best selves when we are with other humans and yet our devices pull us further and further into isolation, until we are left a hollow version of what we once were; a disillusioned technicolour drone.”

Each song on the band’s new album is about a different state of mind in this strange, strange time. Both lyrically and musically, THE UGLY KINGS have created a captivating and enthralling ride! In a scene in which gimmick-free, angsty, inspired rock n’ roll is becoming increasingly difficult to come by, Strange, Strange Times is a breath of welcomed, yet strange, strange air…

Coming out in LP, CD and Digital formats on August 13, 2021 via Napalm Records, the album pre-sale has just started at THIS LOCATION!

Strange, Strange Times Tracklisting:

Czech INDRID COLD Release New Official Video ‘Číše života’

Číše života (Goblet Of Life) is second song from INDRID COLD’s recent album Monument Prázdnoty released on June 1st via Sliptrick Records. The track is set to a music poem from the collection ‘Transformations of the Demon’ by Michail Lermontov 1831. It’s a dark melancholic anthem describing the illusory nature of this world.

Monument Prázdnoty (Eng: Monument of Emptiness) is the debut album from Czech post, doom metal band Indrid Cold. The word emptiness means: “The field of boundless emptiness is what exists from the very beginning. You must purify, cure, grind down, or brush away all the tendencies you have fabricated into apparent habits. Then you can reside in a clear circle of brightness. Utter emptiness has no image. Upright independence does not rely on anything. Just expand and illuminate the original truth unconcerned by external conditions. Read more …here

IAN PARRY’S ROCK EMPORIUM Release ‘One Vision’ Tribute To Queen & Freddie Mercury

Posted by tarjavirmakari on June 12, 2021
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: IAN PARRY, Rock Emporium. Leave a comment

IAN PARRY celebrates 40th year as a professional singer songwriter with the release of the new album by his melodic power rock / neo classical metal band, ROCK EMPORIUM. The album entitled “Brute Force” was released on Friday, 4th June 2021 via Metal Mind Productions.

“One Vision”, a track originally written by Queen, is one the song included on the album. Ian Parry: “I wanted to capture the essence of the original Queen recording embracing the analogue drum and bass sounds, but without trying to copy Brian Mays classic guitar sound and Freddy’s unique voice. I am very proud of the performance from my musicians Ivar de Graaf (Within Temptation) for his authentic kick ass drums, but adding his own modern groove in parts. Jeroen van der Wiel (Rock Emporium “Society of Friends”), for his amazing Orchestral keyboard intro, piano, organ and sequencer hook line. Jeroen is a huge Queen fan so for him and all of us. My old Elegy colleague and friend bassist Martin Helmantel also added his own touch with a driving bass part in the solo section. Finally the rhythm and lead guitars with a traditional Marshall Amp sound from Dimitris Goutziamanis with an extra lead guitar part from Fabio Calluori. The music is finally complimented with what I regard as being my own powerful and emotional vocal performance supported by the fantastic choir & lead parts from Wade Black (Crimson Glory) and Stamina vocalist Stefano Sbrignadello. It was a great please to make such a Tribute to Queen and now 30 years later after we sadly lost one of the greatest Rock pop voices of all time, in memory of the late great Freddy Mercury.”

The style of “Brute Force” album can be compared with some of the best rock & metal bands such as: Alcatrazz, Blue Murder, Dokken, Dio, Malmsteen’s Rising Force, Ozzy, Queensrÿche, Queen, Scorpions, Whitesnake and many other popular rock metal bands from the 90s.

Alongside Ian Parry (Consortium Project / Elegy / Vengeance) are musicians/singers out the world of metal & members of
well-known bands such as:
Beth-Ami Heavenstone (Graham Bonnet band);
Timo Somers (Delain);
Martin Helmantel (Elegy);
Barend Courbois (Blind Guardian);
Allan Sorensen (Royal Hunt / Pretty Maids);
Patrick Rondat (Jean-Michel Jarre / Consortium Project);
Patrick Johansson & Svante Henryson (Malmsteen);
Kris Gildenlöw (Pain of Salvation / Dial);
Luca Sellitto (Stamina);
Walter Cianciusi, Enrico Cianciusi & Dario Parente (Jeff Tate Band / Headless);
Ivar De Graaf (Within Temptation / Kingfisher Sky);

Jeroen van der Wiel (Odyssice / Rock Emporium 1)
& Sander Zoer (Leah/Delain).

THE PICTUREBOOKS Release New Single + Video “Holy Ghost” Ft. Jon Harvey, Reveal Cover Artwork + Tracklisting of “The Major Minor Collective”

As THE PICTUREBOOKS already revealed the title of their new album last month, the boys are proud to present the official artwork as well as the full tracklisting of “The Major Minor Collective”, which will be out September 3rd, 2021!

In addition, the unstoppable blues rockers also release their new single “Holy Ghost” feat. Jon Harvey (Monster Truck) today. The video was recorded in Guetersloh (GER), Los Angeles (USA) and Hamilton (CAN) and can be seen HERE.

The song is now also available on major streaming platforms for endless repeat! Follow this LINK

This is what Jon Harvey has to say about his collaboration with THE PICTUREBOOKS:

“Hallelujah. Sounds the same in every language. The meaning never changes. A divine celebration. When my good buddies The Picturebooks contacted me about working on a song with them, I heard a few things they’d been working on and the music for ‘Holy Ghost’ immediately grabbed my brain and shook it. The vibe was so sexy and groovy that it almost felt taboo, and the concept came together effortlessly. The lyrics are about the magnetism and attraction you feel when someone who checks all your boxes visually, enters. The fleeting intensity of an unknown future imagined in seconds. Like a spiritual uprising, that flushes your cheeks and speeds your heartbeat. What I can only imagine, is what heaven feels like.”

Fynn from THE PICTUREBOOKS adds the following words:

“When we wrote ’Holy Ghost’ we immediately heard Jon Harvey’s awesome voice on it! Monster Truck became our best buddies after all the touring we did together in the past all over Europe and Canada. We always wanted to do a song together. To be honest, we didn’t know how good this song really was or could be. It was Jon who turned it into one of the coolest things we’ve ever recorded and we’re so happy about it! Thank you to this freaking pandemic to have shown the world once again that nothing will ever stop music!!! People will always find ways to make music because people need it. Because we need to create and enjoy it. There’s no better cure for anything!“
