Founded by Sebastián Pastor in early 2014, and with two releases that have taken the heavy scene by storm (featuring well known guest musicians such as Björn Strid / Soilwork, Mikael Sehlin / Engel, Fabio Bartoletti / Fleshgod Apocalypse and more), Argentinian solo artist PLAGUESTORM is about to get set for the release of his highly anticipated brand new studio album, out on June 4th via Noble Demon. With a wide range of furious and raging melodic death metal and featuring nine tracks full of anger, desolation and sadness, the upcoming record “Purifying Fire” is in fact Pastor’s most mature release to date.
After the previously- released single “Evolution Towards The Edge”, today PLAGUESTORM has unleashed an animated lyric video for the epic album- title track.
“The title track of the album is a song with many changes of rhythm and full of melodies. It begins with quite an epic introduction, but soon everything gets out of control and the speed and blast beats arrive. It is a fast and aggressive song, but at the same time quite emotional, since it’s packed with melancholic melodies and many clean, but also fierce vocals. The lyrics are about the fires that have occurred in recent years in many parts of the world. Sometimes I do think that those who cause these great fires will make everything burn, burning ourselves, some people do not understand that their own actions are counterproductive for ourselves. Beyond all the damage, nature always prevails.” Sebastián Pastor comments.
As on his previous releases, on “Purifying Fire” Sebastián Pastor was in charge of composing and writing all the lyrics and music (as well as recording the acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drum prog, and keyboards / synthesizers / strings), while the vocals do come from Mikael Sehlin (Engel). For the guitar solos PLAGUESTORM got the support of Diego Martinez, as well as Pablo Roman, and a wonderful orchestral arrangement for the song “Purifying Fire” was made by Sebastián Nuñez Szymanski.
“Purifying Fire” will be out on June 4th via Noble Demon and is now available for pre-order HERE

20 years ago, heavy and hard rock titans MOS GENERATOR took the heavy music world by storm with the release of their self-titled debut album. To celebrate this special anniversary in style, the band fronted by charismatic multi-talent Tony Reed has announced to reissue their pathbreaking debut album – originally released in 2001 – this summer on Argonauta Records!
Mos Generator, who formed in 2000 in Port Orchard, Washington from the ashes of a ten year off & on collaboration between it’s three members, all of which are long time veterans of road and studio, inspired the heavy music scene since decades. The band has released 9 full length studio albums, a retrospective album, 2 live albums as well as several singles and split albums over their impressive career. Touring has been just as important to the profile of the band as making records has. Over the years Mos Generator has shared the stage with many big heavy rock names across Europe and North America including extensive tours with Saint Vitus, Fu Manchu, Elder, Spirit Caravan or Atomic Bitchwax. They have also played prestigious festivals throughout Europe including 2 appearances at Hellfest in France, opening up a whole new fan base to the Mos Generator sound.
After more than 20 years of making music the band shows no sign of slowing down. Just recently, the iconic trio released The Lantern, a collection of re-mastered songs taken from Mos Generator’s pathbreaking 2007-album, “Tales from the Vault” ( out on Argonauta Records ). Now, fans will be able to celebrate their enthralling debut this summer through Argonauta Records.
Watch a first video teaser for the high- voltage album opener “Lumbo Rock” right here:
“When I started preparing the audio for this remaster, I hadn’t listened to it in years. I forgot how good this record is.“Tony Reed comments. “I would consider it heavy/pop. It’s got energy, power, and hooks. What more could you want? It’s been 20 years since we recorded our debut album. We had been together for six months and had only played one show at the time we recorded this material. All the audio and artwork for this anniversary edition has been restored from the original mixes and artwork files. I thought they were lost so it’s wonderful to be able to present a vinyl version as it was originally envisioned.”
The Mos Generator – 20 year anniversary edition will be out on August 20, 2021 and available as a limited Vinyl edition, the album pre-sale has just started at THIS LOCATION!

German Heavy Metal supergroup HELLRYDER have released their second single “Night Rider” + the matching official music video!
The debut longplayer “The Devil Is A Gambler” will be released on May 28, 2021, via ROAR! Packed with greats of the German Metal scene and with members of well-known bands like Grave Digger, Orden Ogan, Gregorian etc., these four hellish gentlemen are on their way to present something uniquely powerful, straightforward, metallically hard, diabolical and uncompromising … in short: DIRTY KICK ASS HEAVY METAL at its purest! After four years in the making, Oslo-based MESSIER 16 unbind their debut album “iota”. Aimed at relentlessly contemplative catharsis, this record seeks to dislodge the very bones of your quintessence. In a world of extreme solitude, Messier 16 encourages you to find company in this 53-minute journey of solemn musical atmosphere, to dare wallow in it, and let it be a hearth to which you can dry up.
The last single is also the last track on the album, Rho. Listen to the single HERE!
Rho, (meaning ‘density’, in physics), is the album’s last track, an explosive and yearning resolution to the album. It seeks to conclude a lot of the ideological material presented throughout the album, both in terms of music and lyrical content. It’s aggressive and fast paced, and calls to mind influences of both death metal and black metal, while also exploring more atmospheric elements.
Jonas comments on the single:
“The track tries to inspire catharsis after what is essentially a 53 minute long contrast between high tension and relief. As it is the last track written on the album, I feel like it perfectly represents the feeling of melancholy in closing off a chapter in life for good. To have courage to move on somewhere that’ll eventually be a better place in time. All in all, the album ends on a hopeful and sympathetic note.”
Rho is the third and last single off their record, released May 14th.
Inspired by bands like ColdWorld, Opeth and Emperor, as well as Stravinsky, Steve Reich and Jon Hopkins, iota is a difficult album to place, but an easy album to embrace. It’s a musical heat blanket of extreme metal, contemporary classical, and earnest choral elements.
All music written by Jonas Ulrik Eide, founder of the band, with the exception of the opening track, written by Alexander Scriabin, and played by the pianist Eirik Haug Stømner. There’s an orchestra piece played by Trondheim Symphony Orchestra. And a heap of aggressively sentimental metal tracks throughout.
The album as a whole is a deep dive in emotional desperation, and hopefully the listener will find it as inspiring, frustrating, melancholic and atmospheric as it can be.

Scriabin: 12 Etudes, Op. 8, No. 11 in B-Flat Minor
Surfdog Records and BRIAN SETZER have announced the vinyl reissue Setzer Goes Instru-MENTAL! on the 10th Anniversary of it’s original release. It will be released on limited-edition 180-gram, yellow splatter vinyl on 30th July 2021.
Originally released in April 2011, Setzer Goes Instru-MENTAL! was Brian Setzer’s first ever instrumental album and earned him a Grammy Award Nomination for “Best Pop Instrumental Album.”
The album featured covers such as Bill Monroe and The Blue Grass Boys “Blue Moon of Kentucky,” a song covered by Elvis Presley in 1954 as the B-Side of his debut single “That’s All Right.” Talking to MusicRadar on the release Setzer said, “I was working off the Elvis version, the whole Scotty Moore thing. It’s a traditional bluegrass song, so I put some jazz chords behind it. All of a sudden, I had something unique. That’s what makes it worthy. You can’t do it better than Elvis!”
He gives his own stamp on other classics such as Ray Noble’s “Cherokee,” Gene Vincent’s “Be-Bop-A-Lula” and Gene Austin and Nathaniel Shilkret’s “Lonesome Road.” You also ride the road with Setzer originals such as “Hillbilly Jazz Meltdown,” “Far Noir East” and “Go-Go Godzilla” which was accompanied by a hot-rockin’ adventure filled animated video, that you can check out here.
Produced by Dave Darling and Setzer at IPR Studios and Winterland Studios in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, the trio is completed by Johnny Hatton (double bass) and Noah Levy (drums).
