Formed over a decade ago as a 3 piece improve-grindcore project, Domestic Terror has evolved to become one of Ohio’s most punishing underground, brutal death metal bands. Blurring the lines between slamming death metal, grind and beatdown. It has been 5 years since the bands last release, the “High on Violence” EP which was released via Sevared Records and 6 years since the release of their most popular album, “The Holy Landfill” split with Putrified J on Rising Nemesis Records. Avantgarde Metallers IF NOTHING IS have inked a deal with Dark Essence Records which will see the label release the band’s debut full-length album this year.
The brainchild of DØDHEIMSGARD bassist Lars Emil Måløy, IF NOTHING IS rose up in Trondheim, Norway from the ashes of extreme metallers REVOCATION in 2008. This signaled not only a name change, but also a new musical direction for the lineup that today comprises Boeddelen on vocals and lyrics, Håkon Grytvik and Mats Stenberg on guitars, Lars Emil Måløy on bass, FX, backing vocals, lyrics, main composer. and Vegard Myrdal Berg on drums, backing vocals and lyrics.
Having being able to call on the talents of DØDHEIMSGARD’s Vicotnik to work his magic with synths, beats and samples, IF NOTHING IS released their self-titled debut album in 2015, but only via a selection of digital platforms. Consequently it never received the kind of exposure that it deserved, melding, as it did, sharp technical skills and creative songwriting with a keen eye for detail and a streak of madness. Intersected with progressive, experimental passages and rich jazzy parts, the album is reminiscent of the early efforts of bands like ATHEIST and CYNIC, with each song a journey in itself.
What IF NOTHING IS created with their first foray into the studio is an album that exemplifies everything that lies at the heart of extreme and technical metal music, ranging from thrash, speed and death to black metal. And Dark Essence have recognized that this album was never meant to lie in relative obscurity, and to this end the album was re-mixed and re-mastered and will be released for the first time in CD and Vinyl formats as well as digitally.

Filthy Floridian metal duo, GOREGÄNG have released the video for “Farm The Mother” which will be on their new EP “Long Live The Grime”. The group debuted the single last year as a stand-alone single, but have decided to rerelease the video with the updated album mix. GOREGÄNG consists of Jeramie Kling (VENOM INC, INHUMAN CONDITION, THE ABSENCE, FORE) on vocals and guitar, and Taylor Nordberg (INHUMAN CONDITION, THE ABSENCE, FORE) on drums, bass, and guitar. American blackened death metal icons PESSIMIST (ft. Kelly McLauchlin of POSSESSED, I AM MORBID, etc.) have now entered the Black Attack Studios in Los Angeles, CA (USA) to begin recording their long awaited fourth full-length album, ‘Keys to the Underworld,’ with engineer Ira Black! This will be the band’s first full-length record since 2002’s ‘Slaughtering the Faithful.’ In addition, the band is also now welcoming drummer Tim Yeung (I AM MORBID, DIVINE HERESY, HATE ETERNAL, etc.) to the recording lineup! ‘Keys to the Underworld’ will be released by Season of Mist at a later date. Founding member/guitarist Kelly McLauchlin comments: “We are extremely excited to be working with a top-notch drummer as Tim Yeung – you will know him from bands such as Morbid Angel and Hate Eternal, and we also play together in I Am Morbid.
