THUNDERMOTHER Release New Single ‘You Can’t Handle Me’ & Announce Special Concert At Olympiastadion Berlin

THUNDERMOTHER released their new single and video called “You Can’t Handle Me” on the AFM YouTube channel – an song that could look like that, if it was a picture: dancing and gracefully stomping around like a self-confident and self-determined woman in a sweaty rock club – pretty close to that. With a groovy beat and cutting rock riffs, the music finds a way into your ears and body! It will make you wanna move and rock out.

On top of that, THUNDERMOTHER is playing the “biggest smallest concert” at Olympiastadion Berlin – this is THE live event in May, and probably also of the complete year.

STAR FM Berlin, concertVR and Swedish Rockband THUNDERMOTHER are inviting a very special group of fans on May 4th, 2021. A group of people that we all talked about a lot, but that has suffered under a lack of support: this concert is for that forgotten Covid-19 heroes – nursing staff, shop assistant and many more important sustainer of everyday life!

For all the people, that can’t physically take part concertVR offers a concert stream in Virtual Reality on May 11th in cooperation with Ticketmaster (also available as Stream without VR glasses).

SCHATTENMANN Release Video For ‘Choleriker’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on April 28, 2021

The successful NDH-/Metal-newcomer SCHATTENMANN took a comparatively „long“ break after releasing their album „Licht An“ (2018) and the debut album for AFM „Epidemie“ (2019). Probably they had to cope with the fact that their second album entered Official German Album Charts on #32, before they could go back to normal.

While taking their timeout the German band around bandleader and mastermind Frank Herzig has been everything else, but not inactive. So the group is ready and raring to go again and has got a great new single onboard that comes along with a new videoclip to rough up the music scene.

The song „Choleriker“ really is a very special milestone for the band – singer Frank explains why: „This single really means a lot to us and we are unusually nervous upfront this release. For the first time ever we created the video for a song all by ourselves. Name it… script, location, equipment, filming, and even the videoediting – all is 100% SCHATTENMANN and thus we are absolutley curious about the feedback on our new baby.“

With this song the band have got their fingers on the pulse of the age, Frank Herzig has got some detailed thoughts about that: „With this song we highlight an aspect of human, that probably everybody knows something about to a specific degree. It’s an issue, that we have to deal with, especially during a pandemic we live through at the moment. We often feel, that people are a lot more nervous, hitting the ceiling and their inhibition threshold seems to be lower. On top of that the rising number of domestic violence delicts during Covid-19 crisis, give cause for serious concerns and call for more reflection.“

Only one question remains open – what is there left to expect from SCHATTENMANN in the near future?

Lyrics:
Wir sind eine Einheit
Wir marschier’n voran
Wir erzähl’n die Zeit
Und kommen doch nie an

Im Sand sind wir gefangen
Der durch die Enge rinnt
Wir finden kein Ende
Wir kennen keinen Beginn

Ohne uns gäb’s keine Stunden
Alles ist an uns gebunden
Und doch sind wir nur Sekunden

Wir sind immer für euch da
Wir laufen euch nicht fort
werden eure Zukunft sein
Egal an welchem Ort
Wir sind immer für euch da
Wenn ihr uns haben wollt, geben
wir euch eine neue Zeit
Darauf habt ihr unser Ehrenwort

Wir sind eine Einheit
Wenn ihr mit uns seid
Dann schreiben wir Geschichte
Als Kinder dieser Zeit

Ohne uns gäb’s keine Stunden
Alles ist an uns gebunden
Und doch sind wir nur Sekunden

Wir sind immer für euch da
Wir laufen euch nicht fort
werden eure Zukunft sein
Egal an welchem Ort
Wir sind immer für euch da
Wenn ihr uns haben wollt, geben
wir euch eine neue Zeit
Darauf habt ihr unser Ehrenwort

Wir sind immer für euch da
Wir laufen euch nicht fort
werden eure Zukunft sein
Egal an welchem Ort
Wir sind immer für euch da
Wenn ihr uns haben wollt, geben
wir euch eine neue Zeit
Darauf habt ihr unser Ehrenwort

The tour is the first dates in Europe since 2015, when they were supporting the release of the bands last studio album “Asymmetry” (2013). The album’s vast soundscapes, complex rhythms and emotive melodies was the latest chapter in the development of this extraordinary band. Produced Nick DiDia (Rage Against The Machine, Mastodon) at Byron Bay’s Studios 301, ‘Asymmetry’ became the band’s first #1 album, outselling all other artists combined in the Australian top ten and saw them pick up their first ever ARIA award and it went on to be one of the most acclaimed albums of 2013, achieving gold status in a just ten days and soon to join their first two albums as certified platinum.

2014 and 2015 saw playing to their ever expanding global fanbase with shows from Melbourne to Moscow, Sofia to Sydney, Pune to Perth; highlights including a sold out headline show at the 3000 capacity Roundhouse in London, selling 12,000 tickets across 2 shows in India, their first ever gigs in South Africa and becoming festival favourites across the world with show stealing performances at the likes of Sonisphere in France (80,000 people), Download in the UK (130,000 people), Greenfield in Switzerland (45,000 people) and the Hurricane and Southside Festivals in Germany (60,000 people at each festival).

The band recently released their first three albums – ‘Asymmetry’, “Sound Awake” (2009) and “Themata” (2005) – on vinyl for the first time ever.

UK’s neo progressive rockers FROST* are set to release ‘Day And Age’, their first new studio album in 5 years, on the 14th May 2021. The band’s fourth record features Jem Godfrey once again joined by John Mitchell & Nathan King, as well as 3 guest drummers: Kaz Rodriguez (Chaka Khan, Josh Groban), Darby Todd (The Darkness, Martin Barre) & Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson, Mister Mister). The album also features actor Jason Isaacs.

Today, the band are pleased to launch an animated clip for an edit of the album’s title track, ‘Day And Age’. Watch it now here:

Jem Godfrey comments: “Day And Age is about how we have become a planet full of transmitters. Everyone has the power to convey their thoughts far and wide. However nobody is listening because they’re too busy transmitting.”

Watch the previously released video for the track ‘Terrestrial’ here: https://youtu.be/wda09d-QdUk

‘Day And Age’ was recorded over the course of 2019 and 2020, featuring 8 tracks and striking cover artwork by Carl Glover of Aleph Studios (Steven Wilson, Marillion, Steve Jansen). The album will be released on Limited 2CD (including a bonus disc of instrumentals), Gatefold 180g 2LP + CD (with etching on Side D), and as Digital Album. Pre-order now here: https://frost-band.lnk.to/DayAndAge

The full track-listing is below:
1. Day And Age 11:49
2. Terrestrial 5:13
3. Waiting For The Lie 4:31
4. The Boy Who Stood Still 7:33
5. Island Life 4:14
6. Skywards 4:13
7. Kill The Orchestra 9:27
8. Repeat To Fade 6:14

In September 2019 Godfrey and Mitchell rented a cottage for a week in Helford, Cornwall and set about converting it into a recording studio. Day one saw them write and record “Skywards”, “Island Life” was written on day two. On day three, the duo wrote what was to become the title and defining track of the new album, “Day And Age”.

The following January, the band setup a new temporary studio for a further week in a converted coastguard tower at Dungeness in East Sussex. “We were 30 feet by the sea, next to a nuclear power station and a lighthouse, in midwinter. So there was hardly any daylight and the weather was dreadful”, laughs bassist Nathan King, “We wrote “Terrestrial” and “Repeat To Fade” there and you can definitely hear the bleak isolated oppression having an effect on us. The songs we wrote were far darker – the wind howling round the building at night, the power station generating crackles on the audio, a huge lighthouse next door sweeping light into the fog every 30 seconds and John screaming ‘ENJOY YOURSELVES YOU SCUM’ into a microphone. It was absolutely brilliant!”.

In November 2020, Frost* released the career-retrospective collection ‘13 Winters’ which featured all their studio albums to date, plus live material, b-sides & last years ‘Others’ EP, all packaged in a beautiful artbook.

Frost* was formed in 2004 by keyboard player and singer Jem Godfrey, Released in 2006 the band’s debut album “Milliontown” was an instant success and is regarded by many as a classic in the modern prog rock genre featuring John Mitchell on guitar, John Jowitt on bass and Andy Edwards on drums. The band quickly followed it up with “Experiments In Mass Appeal” in 2008, in many ways the antithesis of “Milliontown” featuring a much more stripped back sound, more concise songs and a new band member and singer in the form of Dec Burke.

The live album “The Philadelphia Experiment” followed in 2009 and the a long gap followed before 3rd album “Falling Satellites” was released in 2016 with a new line-up of Nathan King on bass and Craig Blundell on drums, plus returning guitarist and singer John Mitchell on guitar who also co-wrote much of the album with Jem Godfrey.
