US heavy doomsters MOURN THE LIGHT have inked a worldwide record deal with Italy’s powerhouse label Argonauta Records, who will proudly release the band’s first full-length album during 2021.
MOURN THE LIGHT was formed in early 2018 by Dwayne Eldredge, co-founder of The New England Stoner and Doom Festival. Driven by his passion for thunderous, traditional doom metal mixed with lofty progressive metal leanings, Dwayne was hell-bent on creating a band that could sonically push a message of hope in spite of despair.
Following on their highly acclaimed 2019- debut EP, touring the US and Canada including festival appearances at Stoner Jam 19 (during SXSW) or the second New England Stoner and Doom Festival, MOURN THE LIGHT returned to the studio to record their first album. Entitled Suffer, Then We’re Gone, the band’s debut album has a plethora of influences showcased, yet made all their own. At one moment, MOURN THE LIGHT delivers crushingly massive riffs, only to jump at the next turn, galloping along with shades of classic power metal taking hold and leading the way — all the while focused on incredibly memorable songs, with catchy hooks and sing-along choruses.
Watch a first teaser and get a glimpse of what to expect from MOURN THE LIGHT’s upcoming debut, here:
Suffer, Then We’re Gone features nine epic yet heavy as hell tracks, recorded by Dave Kaminsky at Studio Wormwood, and will most likely see MOURN THE LIGHT step out as one of North America’s best kept underground secrets, showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon…
“Our debut album “Suffer, Then We’re Gone” is the culmination of hard work and determination to create something meaningful and special to us.” Says guitarist Dwayne Eldredge. “We have grown as a band so much over the last couple years and we think it really shows in our latest work. We are a metal family working together on our heavy metal legacy and we are proud to be working with Gero and Argonauta Records. We can’t wait to see what the future holds. Looking forward to getting out on the stage again soon….”
So better buckle up, take a ride with MOURN THE LIGHT, and stay tuned for many more album details to be revealed in the weeks ahead!
Finnish modern melodic death metallers DIMMAN are set to release their debut album ‘Songs and Tales of Grievance’ on July 30th 2021 via Inverse Records. The band’s modern melodeath combines beautiful melodies, heavy compositions and technical musicality into a unique ensemble. In addition to the diverse instrumentation, Dimman’s two vocalists create a distinctive and balanced soundscape.
The band released a first single Paroxysm and music video can be seen here:
“Paroxysm showcases all the elements Dimman is made of. Beautiful melodies, heavy riffing and technical musicianship are all married together forming a catchy soundscape. Paroxysm tells the story of human arrogance and the clouding of one’s judgement.” –Jaakko Yli-Sorvari, guitars
The album addresses all the grievances and insecurities that cause misery to both individuals and communities. The incapability to be able to affect the injustices results in frustration, which can be heard from every song on the album.
Songs and Tales of Grievance’ is mixed and mastered by Santeri Peltomäki (Entropy Mixing) whose powerful production supports the band’s versatile compositions.
Australian heavy rockers WICKED SMILE will release their debut full length album titled ‘Wait for the Night’ on September 24th.
Wicked Smile are all about bringing back fist pumping heavy rock to the forefront with a collection of ten ‘killer songs’. The forthcoming album is produced by Paul Laine (The Defiants) and mastered by Bruno Ravel (The Defiants/Danger Danger). Guitarist Stevie Janevski goes on to say, “last year was all about giving the world a ‘taste’ of what we’re about. We’re a five-piece kick ass heavy rock band and I think we made our presence known with the release of our Delirium sampler EP”.
Wicked Smile is fronted by charismatic powerhouse lead vocalist Danny Cecati (ex Pegazus & Eyefear) with Stevie Janevski (The Radio Sun, ex Black Majesty & Cyclone Tracy) and Dave Graham (ex In Malice’s Wake) on guitars, Glen Cav (ex Virtue) on bass and Jason Tyro on drums.
Lyrically, ‘Wait for the Night’ explores current issues within society such as civil unrest, bullying and mental health.

Today, April 16th, GENTLE SAVAGE have released their new rocking single ‘Lovin’ Ain’t Easy‘, available on all major streaming services, here: https://smarturl.it/gentlesavage_lovin
Lead vocalist Tornado tells the whole story on the single: “Lovin’ Ain’t Easy is a presentation of a persons emotional state when without really knowing why, one has been rejected and left stranded by the loved one. In this case the narrator is a male person, but it could be anyone who lives in an intimate relationship with another human being. The mood is neither sad nor aggressive. It’s more like the narrators love affirmation. He leaves the decision whether to quit or to continue in the hands of the beloved woman who’s leaving home.
The atmosphere, melodies and harmonies borrow musically from the wonderful 70’s era. Spiced with modern production and sound engineering Lovin’ Ain’t Easy leans towards The Beatles and Alice Cooper. A careful listener can find some delicate details in the soundscape, submerged in the background and filling up the scenery. This tune is closest to the feel of Gentle Savage when the band first started writing music and it is planned to be a stand-alone single, not included to the upcoming ‘Midnight Waylay’ debut album.”
Soon, the band will release also the lyric video for the single, watch the teaser, graphic & digital art by Kristian K XP, here.
Tornado on the single coverart: “The idea of using the Chaos cross in the cover art of Lovin’ Ain’t Easy popped up during the vocal recordings. Vocalist Tornado Bearstone has a Chaos cross pendant he got years ago from his best friend while this friend was getting married. Tornado was the best man and as they both had Chaos cross pendants, they decided to swap and wear each others crosses in the wedding ceremony. Seeing the pendant hanging in his vocal booth while singing the vocal lines of Lovin’ Ain’t Easy brought up some memories, ideas and questions about entropy, chaos and love. All combined to the Chaos cross symbol. You wanna know more?”
“You see…Life seems to be affected by the law of Thermodynamics (Second law of Thermodynamics = The second law may be formulated by the observation that the entropy of isolated systems left to spontaneous evolution cannot decrease, as they always arrive at a state of thermodynamic equilibrium, where the entropy is highest). Right. Sounds surprisingly much the way it sometimes is in love and relationships. This brought Tornado to think about chaos (a state of utter confusion or disorder; a total lack of organization or order). Allright…now that sounds like a lovers spat.”
“Lovin’ Ain’t Easy lyrics combined with Tornado’s playful deductions about entropy and chaos formed the single cover that asks you symbolically; You dare to jump without control? And in the end; come hell or high water, it’s always good to Rock’n Roll!”
Stay tuned!
As previously announced, Due to the current Covid pandemic GENTLE SAVAGE are forced to postpone their debut album ‘Midnight Waylay’ release to later this Spring. The new release date will be announced soon.
Tornado on the debut album: “Midnight Waylay depicts a ‘taking it easy in the daytime, turning into a beast at night’ kind of lifestyle. Just like a hunter strikes from the shadows, ruthless and silent, these songs can without warning rock your world. As a concept the album Midnight Waylay is best appreciated when served whole, but each song has its own character and works well independently. Find your own adventure, let yourself loose!”
GENTLE SAVAGE are: Tornado Bearstone, songwriter, vocals and guitar Jay B, drums and backing vocals Vance Bead, bass and backing vocals Tim O`Shore, guitar and backing vocals Theo van Boom, keyboards and backing vocals
’Treat yourself and let our magic in. We’ll take care of the rest’.

On June 11th, BEHEMOTH will release a vinyl re-issue of their classic album, 2009’s Evangelion, via Metal Blade Records. Pre-order your copy now at: metalblade.com/behemoth – where Evangelion is available in various versions.
Behemoth released their latest full-length, I Loved You At Your Darkest, in 2018 to critical acclaim. I Loved You At Your Darkest marked a milestone in the history of the band, being not only their most successful album, but also an audiovisual masterpiece: from its detailed, blasphemous artwork, to the highly vicious and at the same time deeply emotional tracks, Behemoth once again played with fire – and ignited a wildfire burning the narrowminded bigotry of Christianity down to the ground.
